Issue with that fractal (at 50):
-totally inconsistent aoes in tunnel (really who love to be knocked down every 2 seconds? stability is not an option since its quite long).

-some mobs are just ridiculous (on top of all earth elemental, immune to CC and oneshotting with almost invisible Attacks… soo fun;but fire elementals are close behind).

-you can have a mesmer stealth at the end of the tunnel go in the other tunnel that communicate with the first one and place a portal (seems designed on purpose) but no…. its useless because if you don t kill mobs you skipped, NPCs won t trigger for no reason at all.

-Molten protector: they are not fun, and nevere were just a dredge like nuisance.
You can CC them before they use their 10 seconds invul aoe, but they don t add anything fun.

-tunnel mobs have onehsotting Attacks again hard to see.

-many gamebreaking bugs already written in proper section.

And seeing what they did to svanirs in svanir fractal i see a pattern.
Oneshots are not fun……if they are more punishing for half professions and easy for Others are even worse.

You should probably get rid of that tinfoil hat of yours and start gathering droprate data instead of coming up with your constant conspiracy theories.

I think you are quite new if you don t remember what happened with DR and dungeons.

If we start to list the time suppositions against anet statements proved right we could write quite a long list.

I don t believe in stuff like account IDs having better rewards.

i DO believe that as happened in the past, DR is not working properly.

Its totally baseless? no

A guildie got the fractal sword skin at level 19 last night, I didn’t even know it’s possible to get the skins before level 20. Long live ignorance!

Apart from that I haven’t got anything good in the last few days. :C

Skins used to be 20+ levels but after the fractured patch they started dropping from 10+ levels.

And here you are putting your tinfoil hat.
Skins according to anet used to drop at 10+ even prefractured.
The fact nobody ever said to drop one didn t prevent them to make and defend that statement on the forum (like happened for the “final rest”).

Maybe droprates are fine…
And maybe the issue is some sort of DR.

That explains how people hwo plays lot of fractals never drops anything, while random players drop a lot.

You can see how is likely to drop green and Yellow champ bags and less stuff in chest, when you farm your daily dungeon.
Maybe that is applied somehow to fractal chests also.

Don’t join groups that have a LFG like exp zerk rush speed etc. I hate stacking and I hate the meta and yet I am about as elitist as it gets. I kick PUG eles for running d/d instead of something more viable even though they might be using the right gear. Why? I’m not running standard dungeons for fun but for money. Everything in gw2 is money gated so people are looking for efficient ways to clear stuff. They would still do this if money wouldn’t play such a big role so in the end it all comes down to the atrocious AI and dungeon design. Blame ANET, blame yourself for joining the wrong LFG but don’t kittening blame the players.

People used to bring every weapon and switch them to be optimal (you can do it while running).

Issue today is that the bad AI, led many players to memorize a video and failing anything not going exactly as planned.

They don t know how other profession works but they feel free to judge, they use internet builds everywhere with the same exact setup in every single fight of every single dungeon and they feel “elitist” despite even the vids themselves suggests to make changes.

They are impermeable to any tactic they didn’t seen on youtube and such, even if its better for the situation.

Unfortunately these players are not elitists nor skilled.
They are either lazy or just they just use the pug excuse to find experienced players to carry them, and then feel the party was good.

Extremely common even in fractal where a wave of new players are failing the easiest stuff because they are too stubborn to do different stuff from youtube videos..
And if they die a lot, its other faults obviously even if they are the only guardians or stuff like that.

If you are good, one or two bad pugs won t slow your run by much.
Way less than the time needed to find another (except rare cases).

Stacking is a legit tactic.
Knowing it is fine and useful…knowing only that is just lack of experience.

Oh finally i drop something..
Sixth pair of healer gloves……..RNG yeah (strongly doubt its working as RNG).

I think Rng thougt i needed another pair ._.
I wonder if drop chances are the same for every stat.

Gold didn’t inflate.

Anet simply cut out most T6 generating events.
Also they nerfed the mystic Forge hard (if you still havent noticed…..) and put insane supply sinks (silk) in the game.

Its like during war, people might have few money, but the lack of supply makes the money itself useless…

And people that can control the low supplies can also dictate prices.

Afaik most people i know nowaday has way less gold than 6 months ago.
And we have again people unable to level crafting, get ascended stuff and so on.

What are those number based on?
Example:
I tried few matches using celestial ele in PvP and it was strong.
But the moment you put a foot in WWW you start noticing how extremely different the 2 game modes are.
Full celestial DD in WWW totally lacks damage despite the food buff.

Mesmer can run away with any build almost as well as thief and beats any ele in dueling without much effort at the same skill level.

Thief is one of the easiest class to use in WWW even more than warrior… (that is the reason you can kill some thieves in WWW), while people agree is somehow more skill intensive in PvP.

And many other inconsistencies.

The issue in considering after only 6 months (and not even focusing a profession) the results of www fights, is that its extremely hard to understand the skill level of your opponent to get reliable data.

(WvW) Warriors and thieves are crazy op

Yeah, thieves are only OP at solo roaming in 1v1 situation. One small role (generally a useless one that contributes little to nothing to the server) in one aspect of the game.

The small role is just Half of WWW stuff.
A stealth thief/immortal war can:

Capture camps
Harass spawn points
Contest WPs
Kill or slow down the tail of a zerg
Kill casters or any player out of the zerg
Scout
Enter a keep with sieges without risk
Fight in the ruins

And much more.
That means a single player influences the game more than its supposed to.
Not that i expect anet to deal with something people complain of since release…

Despite its doable anyway, i’d just like them to ask random people in front of AC if the changes they made, are perceived as “fun” from the community.

Just send any dev in front of ac entrance and question random people

On NVIDIA i found a great improvement also.
I played tequatl max setting with a smooth framerate.
To tell the truth was 1 month i didnt attempt one, but was surely extremely smoother than before.

I think i’ll take daggers since they are cool, and warhorn since is the only weapon i miss a skin for.

There are lot of nice stuff, but unfortunately i run out of hands to wield them .-. i have already more skins that i need.

Expecially in fractals there are bosses that doesn t require an insane amount of dps.
Lava Shaman is one of them, you can kill grubs at 50 reasonably fast in a mix of zerker, celestial and pvt, but you really need to be able to stand still to ress people long enough (something a full berserker ele can t do).
While its even better to recharge your cds between phases.

If I have at least 1 other party member alive with me, I simply agro the boss and kite him far from the other while they all rez each other. On my guardian with reflect, aegis, block, invulnerable, dodge and vigor I can keep it on me as long as they need for everybody to rez back. I won’t gonna use a tankier gear if I can do that with my zerker gear.

Elementalist is a great class to revive people in Fractals. After guard and before mesmer. All in zerker gears.

Also, valkyrie is more helpful than cavalier to counter the condition spike in dungeons (when all your cleanses are exhausted). Some examples come to mind:

  • Bleeding from Graveling/Spider/Volkov
  • Poison from Blossom in TA/Risen Drake
  • Burning from Flame Legion Igniter/Tar/Subject Alpha

From what i tested, if you are going to equip defensive traits and utilities, your dps goes down the drain anyway, and the loss between full zerker and balanced is barely noticeable.

Also a full berserker ele that needs to carry a Group, could have a hard time against lava elementals expecially while having to focus the shield.

Dunno, 2 more runs, still 0 drops since 2 Patches ago… seems really silly considering how many 49 and 50 i run…

I still like fractals, but RNG or droprates are somehow broken.

I bet there is some sort of DR since i play fractal a lot, and that would explain also all those low levels drops from “casual” fractal players.

Its not normal to not see any box in so many runs.

Also Once they put lodestones in chests, it was a smart move, adding a consistent number of T6 would be nice (1X tier in final chest; level 50=5XT6)

You are supposed to fight the mobs in the lava room so that Magg gets safely through. Blame yourself if you try to skip the mobs.

Did you try?
I disagree with this.
Considering how much HP they have i see them there clearly for skipping purpose.

And the npc dies due to bad AI… jumping in the lava to aggro far mobs is not a smart move.

P.S. i’m in favor of zerker being efficient, i just find silly that every single patch push non zerker builds down the drain in PvE.
Every change done seems to discourage anything but dps, the ascalonian fractal in particular.

I’ll say it again:
If you want to have fun you run something more interesting like fractals or TA aether etc.

Even story modes are run by many just to unlock PvP tracks or explo mode.
I didn t talk about inflation and you can flame people in the TP section like usual.

If you enter CM or AC (and even COF and COE) you are 99% sure to have at least 1 or 2 players there for unlocking purposes (possibly who made characters just to farm dungeons) since those are 2 of the fastest dungeons in explo and dungeon are not account bound.

(30 counting 3-5 players i could ask what they did drop.)

Being able to carry pugs, means not dying and being able to ress them, keeping the highest dps possible (that is usually quite low if you have to be 100% sure to be able to ress 4 dead players while the boss tries to kill you).

So a second set/build with some defence is Always good if you plan to pug or go with less experienced friends.

Its also quite fun to tell the truth.

P.S: while in fractals like ascalon anything non DPS will just ruin your day.
Its better and faster just to nuke everything on sight IMHO expecially with the NPC bug. (i know at 50 there are less, but they should be 4 not 0).

Not that hard..

It just takes the same approach like fighting games with few differences.
This game already has quite similar skills.

You have “healing” signets
You have telports
You have movement skills

And so on.

Just try to make them more coherent, and then give some weaponsets/professions, more efficience on few just to give profession identity.

Don’t design OP traits that just ruins the balance, just stick to skills and make traits less important.

Last patch was a step in the right direction, remove some trait/stat focus to put in runes and sigils.

It was due to an exploit letting people list stuff on the TP without paying the listing fee.
And nobody was banned for that afaik.
Few (really few) were burnt selling few precursors for 2 silvers when the exploit was stealth fixed.

Ele > Ranger with Ranged Damage

scepter/dagger ele is not a ranged PVE build.

Its also called Lightning hammer build.
(scepter is not used to deal damage, being one of the lowest dps weapons, but only for stacking might).

Staff ele does more ranged dps than ranger but has lot of weaknesses and most of its damage has high risk.

Byron, not everyone thinks 1v1 is a valid game format.

balancing 1vs1 is the key to balance multiple formats also.
Its way better than balancing around a silly concept like capture the point.

Every time, you want to defend things extremely unbalanced and they get changed.

Ele mobility is a matter of sustained mobility and burst mobility, also the purpose.
One is viable in PvP, none is in WWW and PvE.

Short answer:
Anet nerfed any way to get gold, while pushing grinding.

Economy makes stuff more expensive day by day, so you are forced to grind gold as fast as you can.

You can t no longer enjoy the game as it happened during the first days of the game, now is a rush to get gold.

This is the common mindset.

Rng for skins is OK, but they need to introduce some way to Exchange them for a high price:

3-4 skins in the forge = 1 skin of choice

Would be good a similar recipe for ascended armor/weapon chests.

-RANGE <= why you Always forget to mention that?
-mobility was really hit too much you should do something about
-SHORT stability on long CD
-lack of versatility (whatever we want to do we need to go full on that side except for PvP due to the silly pvp design).
-What do we get in Exchange for the high level skillfloor?
-chill and cc conditions

Thief and warriors:
Anet opinion is the opposite of most players opinion since release.
Expecially for WWW.

Seems anet doesn’t balance PvE, WWW, 1vs1, deathmatches…..but only capture points in pvp maps.

There are some reasons why inflation coesn t take in account value of alpacas in France.

For the same reason should not take in account all the stuff that has almost no (real) demand.

While T6, Precursors, lodestones, gems, etc etc etc should be the best indicators.

@Wanze… i won t answer since i don t find most of your comments “useful”.

First off, there is a huge amount of demand for alpacas, they’re pretty awesome.

Short and sweet:
If you think inflation is a major issue in Guild Wars 2, you should do more research on MMO economies and general economics.

Excuse me if this uneducated player just posted how inflation is officially calculated in Italy by Istat (national institute of statistic).

And that calculation is used for balancing salaries.

@Phoebe: in other games luckily you are not forced usually to use the TP but can farm your stuff.
In GW2 farming everything you need is not realistic.
Just like diablo 3 economy, that led to some unpleasant consequences that we have even here even if in a watered down form.

Italy doesnt calculate its Consumer Price Index based on the price of t6 mats, lodestones or precursors either.

Its the stuff you want that is not realistically farmed in game, but thats a different matter.

Some time ago was datamined a stat change scroll ._. we need it and possibly cheap :P
Considering fractal is dropping almost only “healers chests” for whatever reason, would be great.

Also when you speak of the zerker meta, i would suggest you to check the soldier meta in WWW where only a profession or two can afford to go zerker due to the same mechanic making it impossible for other professions.

They should give some sort of compensation btw, like adding fractal armors/outfits.

If they can put an armor in the gemshop, they could develop an armor for fractal (if its too hard recicle some popular sets and add fractal trails).

And sell them for fotm shards of mist essence or pristines.

Conjured weapons are an issue here. They’re too powerful. Just try path 1 and 3 AC with and without them.

Everytime i can choose i log warrior because is so braindead i don t have to care much about damage.
Ele instead can die by trash mobs if you doen t pay attention.
(oh and wwwwg runs are not noticeably slower than eewwg, but are easier for sure).

I was talking about carrying people.
You don t like to have a lightning hammer while keeping your party alive, nor to have a weapon forcing you to position where it works and not where you want to be.

Not to mention ranged healing like water 3 and defence like earth 2 from scepter.

If my party is halfway decent i just go staff (full zerk 64022), since it has a reliable low risk burst that is very nice.

Currently ele strong point are traits
Ele weak points are skills and utilities

Do the opposite TY
We need better skills and CD and to rely less on passive traits.

Also Ele needs mobility on Dagger offhand
The range+cloth and low HP are already downsides (pvp mechanics somehow makes this issue smaller, but in WWW is huge).

Few people will tell you this but….
If you bring a secondary set with you (maybe your www set), and switch to xxx66 you can actually carry a Whole Group alone in many difficult situations if you need high chances of success (means you can reliably ress everyone even from full Death).

Cliffside fractal, aetherblade, mai trinn, lupicus, molten duo, lava shaman.
Just equip scepter/focus and change your build in situations where your Group is not good enough.

If the Group is good staying berserker is the best choice..

P.S. I m speaking of ressing your Group that is faster than waiting everyone to die, soloing and explain to people why they have to lose 15 min watching you play solo without being booted.

Energy is good for defensive purpose.
But if you play an aggressive build, nothing beats air+battle imho.

P.S. leave the bloodlust on the staff builds.
If you roam could take some time to charge it, while with staff 1 aoe and you are done

Its not a good point at all.
In a balanced and skillful game you are supposed to lose 9 times out of 10 or win 9 times out of 10 against the same opponent.

If you lose half of the times, you either are on the same skill of your opponent but more possibly skill doesn t have any role in the game.

Crafting legendaries is what almost pushed me totally out of the game twice.
The map completion, the gold grind etc are awful.

When you also know that you are feeding people making the game worst for everyone you also feel worse.

I actually have my way to have fun.
Being able to complete dungeons with whoever (unless they don t communicate and don t read chat) is quite fun for me.

Also www (roaming and zerg if done correctly).

Weapon skills need improvement.
all weapons but staff serves only to stack might out of combat
Then conjured everywhere (once again if i wanted to use a hammer as main weapon i would ve used a warrior).

Conjured are bad excuse for lack of pve skill balance.

Give some meaning to scepter and daggers in combat please.

DD needs mobility.
You can t actually stay in fighting range with many professions that has lot more of the ele profession.
The nerf to RTL was a mistake, i don t care if you wanted to nerf SD cantrip ele in pvp, in www DD needs rtl to catch its opponent.

Basic game design and engine is set for 5v5 look a target limits, AoE effects designed/rebalanced around nodes capture.

The aoe cap was born long after the game was released.
Also the balance changed the game around 5vs5.

You wouldn’t recognize many skills that were on prelaunch.

The fact that most of the streams Anet produces are pvp-centric with a few (poorly done or quickly outdated) developer how to pve with a class (usually Cartwright [I do appreciate the attempt though])

I would suggest izzy is behind most of the “most unpopular” balance changes since gw1.

Guild wars is qute famous for its lack of balance if you make some quick researches on Google.

P.S: also carighan will deny evidence forever as Always.

If one item goes up in price, that doesn’t mean anything as far as inflation is concerned.
If virtually everything costs more, then you have inflation.
If you think this definition isn’t what you were talking about, then you weren’t talking about inflation, you were talking about something else.

There are some reasons why inflation coesn t take in account value of alpacas in France.

For the same reason should not take in account all the stuff that has almost no (real) demand.

While T6, Precursors, lodestones, gems, etc etc etc should be the best indicators.

0,5 sec starting and 0,5 sec bnefore finishing.

Could also be latence but i died many times before seeing the last hit.

Few things oneshotting ONLY elementalists:
Elementals in Molten fractal
Maw tentacles
Maw mobs with “the prestige” (from stealth)
Almost any ascalon fractal mobs maybe except rangers.
Exploding golems in coe
Turret golem in coe (various Attacks)
Golem (tom something) in harpy fractal
Golem missiles at harpy fractal boss
Almost anything from mid bosses/bosses in TA (except vines and the spider boss).
If i remember well also crystals in CoF (i usually evades them so maybe i m wrong here)
Troll in hotw/ac
Lupicus various Attacks (i could be wrong here, i don t have arah party since come months and lfg is only “sell”)
Cof p2 gate guards

I could also add all the thing that are oneshotting “meta” elementalists and are multihit

Id say mesmer is the second easiest class to survive with. But yeah going from ele to warrior is a huge difference. I dont mind warrior being so strong solo, but surely the other classes should be stronger seeing as they arent quite so easy to survive with. The risk vs reward balance is so screwed when you compare classes. Ele is the only one that makes sense compared to warrior but thats only when you have fgs against a wall.

Not so much:
-you still have 0 margin (oneshot by most stuff)
-While you have more evades etc, you are also responsible of many on reaction reflects.
Missing them is worse than being downed.
-blurred frenzy animation is longer than evades frame and has a 0,5 activation

And if you’ll have to ress someone for whatever reason, just hope you are really really lucky, because 3 seconds of distortion won’t be enough to stop more than one attack.
