Bad@Thief: Kiera Gordon
Sea of Sorrows, a server never before so appropriately named.
The Krytan kingdom is not (from what we see in game) so large (or at least densely populated enough)
Assuming that Tyria is roughly the same size and density as Earth, then according to the globe Kryta could be the size of France in lore. It’s just everything in game is scaled down for playability and practicality. Also given at least how cultivated Queensdale and Gendarran are, it isn’t a stretch to assume it was fairly well populated and into the millions.
God this thread’s OP is pathetic. “You’re not making content that caters just to meeeeeeeee!”. Kitten, I’ve pvp’d all of twice and don’t see any problems with the devs doing this. In fact, your post supports the devs putting effort into the mode to make it appeal more to the people who seek unique skins.
Actually, I think I’d rather have a short blind on the fire aura. Would make it fit with the rest as a defensive option.
I’d agree a short blind would make sense, if blinding ashes GM trait in the fire traitline didn’t already exist. That would create a huge negative synergy with that GM trait and fire aura.
How so? If you took away the burn of the fire aura and made it a blind it would work with it more.
At first it seems I was avg about 10-15 day. Now it seems about half that.
Good Lord! How many characters are you doing this with? And for how long? Wandering around Cursed Shore for an hour or two (very specifically hunting down trees) nets me between 1 and 3 drops.
Don’t waste your time wandering around Cursed Shore, just park level 80s near the Melanadru statue southeastern Malchor’s Leap and rotate through them every hour or so. I was getting at least 2 or 3 every 15-20 minute run (although this mornings run before going to work netted me only 1 on 3 toons).

Everything’s OP, you’re OP, I’m OP, that guy’s OP. Everything and everybody is OP. Everyone needs a nerf. NERF NERF OP OP! HARUMPH!
4) The only way to make condi more suited for pve without destroying pvp is to split the skills and mechanics, and we’re used to anet not wanting that.
Not precisely. If they gave mob AI’s more tools to act like players (albeit bad ones), like occasional dodges, cleanses, more variety of attacks, etc, you would see fewer people taking the “full glass approach”.
There’s also the idea of “over-stack”. Where any stacks added above the limit get their damage converted and applied directly.
If you show up too late people will ignore it because non-organised worlds ALWAYS fail. ‘Organisation’ need not mean a commander tag, but it tends to come with at least one because DD positioning of Tequatl melee.
If you show up early and open LFG, looking for keywords like ‘organised Teq’, it’s not hard to get into a server where people aren’t kitten ing around.
an unorganized mess of people sorting themselves out through chat
This is the definition of organisation. It doesn’t need to be top down.
Nobody’s organised until they organise.
When most people talk about organized when it comes to Tequatl what they mean is guilds or the like purposefully coming in and taking charge. The kind of organization I’m seeing regularly succeeding barely qualifies as it. It’s no more organization than you would have in a typical pug speed dungeon run. Not much discussion if any since everyone knows what they are doing besides “who’s going with Magg?”. It sounds like you would qualify stacking to the right of the Shatterer in that event as “organization”. It’s not, it’s just everyone knows what has to be done now. Same with Jormag. I wouldn’t call that organized either but people sure do get all of its parts done.

Everytime I defeated Tequatl today was from an unorganized mess of people sorting themselves out through chat because by this point, the people that want to do Tequatl know what needs to be done. The first time I beat Tequatl I was on BG’s ts and beat him with maybe 2 minutes to spare. Both times last night in a barely organized mess we were killing him with 7 or 8 to go. People knowing what is going on and what to do is more important than having a clear leader.
While playing i always see that a few person has interest in tequa boss while there is lots of players in the claw of jormag still tequa gives two legendary/rare and two loot box. Is there any certain reason why people ignore tequa.
i said it because i did it for 9 times and always lost because of less people and without a commander
I have completed it 3x successfully since I got home yesterday. I completed it about 2 hours ago successfully from the second overflow, an overflow where there were only a dozen people twenty minutes before he got there (I accidentally closed the game when I was in the main server). Still did it successfully. If you want to succeed in Tequatl, you have to know what you are doing and join early so you don’t get pushed into the end. You sound like you show up late to the show and then cry about all there being no people. There’s lots of people doing it, there was hundreds doing it two hours (early morning hours in NA). So don’t go whining about there not being people doing it. Show up +30 minutes before it is supposed to drop and you won’t have this problem.
I think you’re doing your math wrong. With 4 updates every two weeks, that’s 2 months worth of content for the Living Story.
That’s not to say there’s not going to be updates until the fall, though, just no more updates to the Living Story. I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a festival-style event like Zephyr Sanctum or Dragon Bash in the meantime.
Anniversary/Queen Jennah something or other.
With the current quality of the primary plot-telling under the Living World team, I don’t think we’ll be getting such ‘elaborate’ twists.
I understand what you mean. But, to be fair, they already achieved a similar “surprise twist” with the “Ascalon, I free you from this curse!” trailer.
~MRA
It wasn’t much of a surprise plot twist to Konig. If I remember right, he predicted the ritual would fail and Rytlock would be “put on a bus” the same day that trailer got released.
And low and behold…
Confirmed that Konig is secretly a disgruntled ANet employee /tinfoil
LH laziness in PvE is plenty viable. Not particularly meta on its own though.
Trait conjurer, throw enough points in water to get soothing mist then throw the rest where ever and sit in water while swinging away.
On a more serious note, people use LH in S/D might stacking builds to bridge the sustain gap. A lot of people will also bring lava axe with the staff for the utility and blasts.
My headcanon is frequently not safe for the forums.
Can you give an example of headcanon that is actually safe for the forums?
I could give several, though that’s unfortunately so far off topic . . . well, except for one.
“The reason Rytlock won’t succeed in uncursing Ascalon is because his sword isn’t the real one but a very convincing copy. The reason he doesn’t say where he got it is because he bought it off an asuran peddler.”
“Whatever you do don’t tell Logan. Taunting him is fun.”
2015 Feature Patch: Revamped underwater content/combat. Followed shortly by Largos and DSD content.
Season 2 should be. Season 1 cannot because it was released in a different method. Don’t know about future seasons, Season 2 should give an example of how it will go though.
I am honestly not surprised about the esports thing now that I think about it. I’m realizing that it seems to be common in mmo’s without a subscription. God knows WoT has a godawful esports set up that that game was most certainly not set up to use.
My biggest issue with Vapor Blade is the way it disappears when it hits a wall or something. It should immediately bounce back instead of disappearing. That and a velocity boost would make the skill useable.
My headcanon is frequently not safe for the forums.

“My headcanon is super lazy, I just go with the regular canon”
Done.
Going to have to reword* that a little clearer.

Mind you, this is a necromancing of a thread that’s over a year old – the Watchknights weren’t around for much of this thread.
Well, we still had Uzolan. It just depends on how much of an outlier he is. I think the biggest separation between the Asura and everyone else is that Asura have mandatory education. A thousand engineers will let you develop more breakthroughs than a dozen.
Charr helicopters annoy the everloving hell out of me. It blows my mind that the Asura technology makes more sense than some of the stuff the Charr run around with.
Also, of note with WW2 German designs, they let their engineers run rampant without the slightest thought of the intended users. For example, this is the turret traverse mechanism on the Tiger. That’s some Rube Goldbergian insanity, you actually had to rev the engine up to turn the turret. Compare to the M4A3’s traverse mechanism which worked independently. That’s pretty indicative of the design problems the Germans afflicted themselves with and for the most part when I look at the insanity of Charr weapons that’s what I see. A bunch of overcomplicated and often malfunctioning material littering as much of Ascalon as there are human ruins.
I think it’s Knut Whitebear. Eir will take the position as leader and all Norn will fight all elder dragon instead of just the one they fear the most. The hunt intensifies.
But we see just the lights going off and something arriving (from its PoV). We don’t even can tell that someone dies there and if it’s the case then it would be possible that Jennah gets captured (again). Whatever arrives there, it seems to counter the magic of the Pale Tree (since I think those lights are powered from its magic).
I had cloverfield flashbacks. I wouldn’t mind running from a giant cloverfield monster. Although it would be more fun to do in DR.
You would have to look up a recap of Season 1 if you missed that and probably the best recaps off the top of my head are WoodenPotatoes’ patch day videos. For Season 2 you can unlock missed chapters with gems if you weren’t there to participate in them.
Meh, I still think there’s going to be an attempt on the Pale Tree. Attack on LA Mk. II: Pale Tree Boogaloo?
“Great to see you again! When are you going to stop all this wandering about and come in for a hot meal and a cold drink?”
I’d actually be up for that now…oh…I can’t? O..ok then…

I’m sorry for my post on the first page. You were right. PVE in GW2 is about zerker stats, nothing more. Anet wants us to use zerker as there is time counter on any major boss event.
Other stat combos are for PVP and partially for WvW where you need some more health to survive mass aoe fights.
//so much fun QQ//
That’s another good point.
If GW2 wasn’t only about DPS, then why is there always a timer on world bosses? A healer and support build would be useless. What’s funny is that that guy doesn’t even realize you can’t crit a world boss…making 2/3’s of the Berserker stat set useless. Soldier’s rules the day there. Although, that level of knowledge about the game is something I’ve come to expect from the “MUH NONDPS BUILD” town criers.
That still doesn’t negate the fact that a support or healer build would be useless. You’re better off going Carrion in that case.
Someone who sets themselves up to ONLY support or ONLY heal is not utilizing their skills fully. Boon distribution, rallying, field laying, utility usage, reviving from downed, there are more things to do non-dps than just “pretend I’m a healer dropping Healing Rain”.
Why does everyone want to go back to the days of dead or nearly dead zones? Go play a single player then.
The problem is that its incredibly hard to form bonds with the megaserver players you meet. Chances are, you`ll never see them again anyhow and the things that once brought you common ground, such as both having chosen to be on a WvW, or RP server are gone.
On a megaserver, you can be surrounded by people and yet still be isolated.
What are you talking about? What fanciful server did you play on that you got to see the same people regularly? I don’t think I regularly even saw people on the same champ trains day in and day out.

Reddit is the worst place to find discussions on opposing opinions.
Easy to avoid dissonance when you can create custom echo chambers, isn’kitten
“GW2 rewards only damage” Someone can’t read… how kitty.
I’m just quitting this forum. There’s too many fanboys. I’m so happy that reddit is full of normal players.
It’s like asking someone to drink a well with a teacup…
Do you or do you not understand what tagging is and how it differentiates from maximizing dps? Your posting indicates otherwise.
Anyone know any reason as to why this happens?
Read the dialogue, actually talk to the characters outside of the voice acted dialogue scenes. Trahearne knows our mentor personally prior and after the events at Claw Island feels both indebted to you (for doing much heavy lifting and believing his warning) and your mentor (who is the reason you got away). He sticks with you to help. When I played through the PS again and made sure to soak in as much of the dialogue options as possible it did feel right that he came along with you after Claw Island. The issue is that later on the writing puts much more focus on Trahearne’s Wild Hunt and not our own ‘destiny’ to defeat Zhaitan. I also didn’t feel quite so much that I was a commander while playing the last chapters.
Because they look awesome.
Even if they changed it’s process into a scavenger hunt, the desire would still mostly be for their awesome skin.
Dunno what’s wrong with me but I just don’t find those legendary skins appealing at all.
You’re not the only one…
or at least some news about whats going on like new blog which would include whats coming till 2015 ? Because there was promise about legendary gear, precursor craft/hunts and nothing of this happened.
.You answered your own question. Anet devs were ambitious and took on more projects than they could complete, and a year later people still complain about it. It is likely that future announcements about upcoming content will be when that content is very close to going live.
The huge update in April followed by launching in China and radical changes to LS season 2 means that the devs have not had the resources to do more than block out plans for the rest of the year, so I wouldn’t expect to see any big changes before October and don’t expect to hear much about it until a few weeks before the updates go live.
You are probably right, but at least some info would be good
Releasing any info before they are absolutely sure about the time table is a proven bad idea. It’s a proven bad idea in all mmo’s. It’s not gonna happen.
Someone doesn’t know the difference between maximizing tagging and mazimizing dps…kitten.
and more relationship[s] to create.
What about the ones we’ve already made? The home instance needs some periodic text updates and options.
Also, there should be some large catacombs (As per Ghosts of Ascalon) underneath the city.
Oh how I would love to delve into an “undercity”. A massive ossuary would be just perfect.
You’re merely knocked unconscious every time.
Most indestructible resource in all of Tyria, unconscious PCs. Time to build a wall around the branding with bodies then?
I’m just going to throw this out there while it’s fresh in my mind, what if they added a second type of active defense called “Bracing” (as in absorbing a blow)? Have armors provide two inherent stats, defense and load . Currently, we use endurance to dodge attacks but what if we had an active defense that used up significantly less endurance for reducing damage taken by a certain percentage (determined by the ‘defense’ stat) but gain back endurance slowly (rate determined by the “load” of the armor) and you are unable to use skills while “bracing”. Thus heavier armored players could remain in position and absorb more consecutive blows (as opposed to largely being limited to two dodges) but not able to unfairly capitalize on it because they would not be able to use a skill while bracing. From there I would open up all armor types to all classes and let people mix and match, choose how they want to defend, and open up a lot more playstyles within various classes.
#plsbegentle
I’m personally not a fan of the lone male member of the biconics being a pretty stereotypical meathead, but I don’t see the problem with Taimi having a physical malady. If this were a fantasy world “without the pains of the real world” in it would really have all the wars and displaced peoples in it?
They really should do some kind of versioning with optional space usage then if file size is that big of an issue. For example make the default game download the original maps and the current LS versions. From there have a version that is current LS version and the first season of LS and so on. Also have a version for “kittening everything” for those of us with several terabytes of HDD space who thusly “do not care how big this gets”. So essentially you would have various versions with 2 map variations and a single one with everything. Sucks for people that don’t have tons of HDD space but kitten man, I had a 250GB HDD stock in my laptop 6 years ago. I’d also leave all the story chapters playable regardless of map version set up you have but make an option to set the launcher to patch to the appropriate “LS setting +current LS” combination for that story chapter.
>Tribal societies aren’t valid
>Grawl aren’t sentient-Why?
-Of course they are. We accept quests from them.
I was mocking the person I was replying to.
“>” is shortform for anecdotal quotes in other reaches of the internet. Those things are essentially what HE was arguing. I was isolating them and mocking them.
Back in the days it was common knowledge and a fact that the Earth was flat
Holy crap do I hate this myth. Just about everyone knew the Earth was round by the medieval period. This was already discovered by the antiquity Greeks. What people argued over was the exact circumference of the Earth. This is something that Columbus got very. very. VERY wrong and is what people called him “crazy” for. He just got lucky that there was a giant landmass called the Western Hemisphere that he ran into on his way to Eastern Asia.
I wish people would stop saying that Ascalon was “originally Charr”. It wasn’t, it was “previously held by Charr”. Subtle but important difference. In any case, someone brought this up in the reddit comments. I’m wondering if this idea gained ground with the Charr and whether or not it is partially correct. We haven’t seen a champion for Mordremoth yet so I’m wondering if this action acts unexpectedly to draw one out.
Oh well, just idle thoughts running wild.
Ascalon was originally Charr. Grawl, or whatever lived in area, that will be called “Ascalon” later, are primitive as possible, inferior, ergo they didn’t have any primitive state, sort of. Charr are far superior to Grawl, and they had a territory that one can call a state, sort of. You don’t think of ant colonies when you chop forest for lumber or when you need to live above it. So thought the humans, but charr were no ant colony, ironically.
P.S. All these charr haters
>Tribal societies aren’t valid
>Grawl aren’t sentient
>Surethang
I don’t think you know what the word “originally” means.
Although, my sides have left Tyria to join the Gods.

Early PS/Tutorial should have the race’s DE member instructively putting down fields and telling the player what skill to use that has a finisher and what the effect is. Doesn’t have to go through all of the fields but if players were given a practical introduction to fields and finishers it would make things a lot easier down the line.
I also would like more lower level type instance things. Maybe have zone level specific dungeons that are actually explorable (as in modestly length’d dungeon crawls) that introduce people to the mechanics. I’m not sure how receptive ANet would be of that though, they seem against group instances in favor of open world type things. Maybe add more places like that catacomb area in Plains of Ashford, maybe a little longer and provide a section for those types of areas in the LFG.
Just idle thoughts really.
I’m actually really surprised at how many people have found Stone Heart to be a positive choice. I will have to go back and look at it again.
I didn’t like the idea of going into a tree with condition damage unless my plan was to use a condition build… and I have imagined to be lacking when comparing it against other classes. Perhaps I was mistaken? Have you guys had better luck with these condi builds?
>Cue Ash showing up to talk about his condi build.
It does make sense though to have something like Stone Heart with a tree full of condi damage.
I just use staff, my non-zerker set (which is currently all clerics because I haven’t bothered to edit it) and run 6/0/0/2/6 for my champ farming and world boss running. I like staff because I can be out of range of a lot of the attacks or right at the edge of the range of them, makes it easier to survive when there’s a lot of people on screen lagging everything.
