Finally got a ticket! Somewhere between 850-950 coffers opened before I got it.

700+ dragon coffers. Somewhere around 1250 Zhaitaffy, 3 Holographic Risen Knights, some other food items, 0 tickets. Hopefully I can get at least one or two before the end of this stuff!

Yeah and even when you just use the Kiel’s waypoint and don’t get moved to a different server, it might not be contested but there is often a Reef Drake there RIGHT at the WP. Can kill you if you load slow or just aren’t ready for it to be there.

4 crates from drops, all had karka shells and passion flowers. I wish I could get one of the skins, I would probably get something for my necro!

As LumAnth said, Dragon Festival began in GW1 and had actors doing a goofy reenactment of previous events! I hope it is done in a similar fashion for Dragon Bash.

It would be pretty epic to have an elder dragon, or an army of it’s minions/one of it’s generals, come and crash the bash! As long as it didn’t end up as much of a lagfest as Lost Shores’ karka attacks. :P

Yes! I am satisfied with these changes and also look forward to the axe. My Thief will be the ultimate gathering machine!

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the animation… it’s just fairly small, especially on large plants, like passofloria bushes. The fact that you have to actually stand there and wait if you want to watch the animation AFTER picking your plant is kind of annoying too.

With the molten pick, you see the animation very easily and you see it while you are mining. That is pretty much what I expected with the sickle too.

Animation should start right away and be bigger for sure. I got my sickle and right away used it on passofloria bushes… I was disappointed.

I thought I hadn’t seen the animation yet because I hadn’t seen enough people gathering plants, so maybe none of them had it? Nope, it’s just such a tiny animation on those bushes that I don’t even notice it if I’m not right at the plant, staring at it. (because watching plants grow is fun?)

The Black Lion Trading Company, I imagine, is like the Consortium and trying to make as much profit as possible! The item might have a Consortium related name, but if the BLTC can sell it instead they will. It makes them a profit AND keeps the money out of their competitor’s hands.

You think you’re bored? It took me 3 DAYS to download GW2! haha But I just… played other games, slept, went outside, ate, did stuff I’d normally do. During the last few hours I got more excited though, just had to play other games. Find something on a different system if you have one. Or a game on the computer that doesn’t take directx!

Luckily I had pre purchased GW2 and got a new computer about 3 days before head start weekend. So I was still logging in within 24 hours of launch!

Whenever I do the Crab Toss, there are usually 1 or 2 people who dominate pretty much every round and keep playing. I have never seen anyone actually complain about it though…. and I have stuck around for probably 8 rounds in a row before with the same 1 or 2 people winning by LARGE amounts every game except for maybe one of those games where someone else wins or scores are at least pretty close.

People like ‘Fluffy’ are not there to play and have a good time. They are there to win and when they don’t/can’t win they cry and act out. Best thing you can do is ignore and report.

As far as the fishing pole goes, I don’t guess it’s really against the rules for someone to use it on you the whole game. That said, it is still a very annoying and pathetic way for a sore loser to act out and I hope that there are very few people out there who will do that.

This achievement can only be earned during the epilogue, which starts on Sunday, May 12 at 12:00pm Pacific and remains active until Thursday, May 16 at 12:00am Pacific.

This is what I was going by too, until last night when I got on the forums and a message appeared at the top of the page telling me it ended the 14th when the patch went live. It was that red message that only shows the first time you log into the forums after the message was released. That is the ONLY notice I had of it actually being the 14th. Luckily I got it the day it started. ANet did a poor job of correcting the mistake, the post I linked to was not corrected and I assume that is where quite a few people got their information on the start/end times of “A Rallying Flame”

It’s a good thing I noticed though, I saved at least one of my friends from missing out on it. They would have been left with one single, easy event unfinished in that section of achievements because they were going to have a hard time getting online before the 16th so they were going to wait until then to get it.

Edit: I see the link I put now has had the 16th marked out. It was not marked out when I posted this a few hours ago, I copy/pasted what it said. It got marked out AFTER the event ended.

My objective was to speak with Gavin. He had the green quest symbol above his head but I was not given the talk prompt (press f to talk).

I am about to try one more time.

Edit: I tried it and this time it worked! I didn’t do anything differently, that I know of, than I did my other 2 attempts. Weird. Thanks for checking it out, even if you didn’t run into the issue.

I am leveling my newest character, just opened the character slot today and was excited to work on his story and see what new story lines I got on this Sylvari since I chose some different things than my first Sylvari did.
Unfortunately, at the end of the quest “Called To Service” I am unable to talk to Gavin! He said “My wound weakens me. I need to catch my breath.” and then I was unable to talk to him. I waited for a few minutes and still was unable. I did the quest again later and ran into the same problem again.

I am on the Blackgate server.

Did anyone say that living story won’t lead up to another dragon? I’m not saying I think this month is going to do it, or even next month… but just because another living story part is coming out and doesn’t right away scream “LOOK! A DRAGON!” doesn’t mean a dragon is not involved at some point.

Of course, I don’t know for sure how they will introduce a new dragon (living story, expansion?). I’m just saying, do you KNOW a dragon isn’t involved in this? If so, show me your source please.

At launch I was getting a few keys per week from drops.
Now I haven’t had a key drop in months. the only keys I have gotten are from story line and map completion.

I would say I stopped seeing key drops around Halloween or shortly after.

Vulpis, I’m not big on dungeons either. I still did this one with a pick up group, 3 thieves a ranger and a mesmer. It went fine, people would get downed but no one got defeated any times until the final fight. Even then, after 2 or 3 party wipes we didn’t have anymore wipes.

Edit: My point being, it’s really not too hard of a dungeon and doing it once won’t be bad unless you get a terrible group.

Luckily no one in my group was defeated enough to actually break pieces of armor! I did notice this same issue happening, but with no broken gear it only worked to speed things up for us… at least by a few seconds :P I can certainly see this being a problem with broken gear or wanting to change weapons though.

Buy low, sell high. Predict what will have price spikes, or buy the whole TP out at low prices and control the market for that item.

It’s not easy, those who do it well have worked hard to get there. They aren’t generally going to share their secrets. If it was easy or everyone told you exactly how to do what works for them, then it would in turn destroy any profit to be made because everyone would do it.

I figured we would have until reset today, so I was just going to work on SAB today and get 1 more weapon skin (shield or staff). Now SAB is gone 7 hours earlier than I expected and I’m right around 40 bubbles out of the 50 needed. Oh welllll… I’ll just have to hope that these bubbles are worth keeping for when SAB comes around next time.

Logged in and I have 44 bubbles and 50 baubles. Ouch. XD

The OP is not talking about a skill CHALLENGE. They are talking about a spot where you can commune for the skill point, which there are definitely places that you can commune at with no fights or with just normal mobs/a veteran around.

Skill challenge bosses are fine, they are soloable. But there are spots where the champion in front of the commune spot is too difficult for most players to solo, or even a group event boss will spawn and make the skill point impossible without at least one other person to distract/help kill the boss. Some of them, you stealth or something to help you get around them and get the point but others you can’t do solo without grabbing the boss’s attention.

Edit: Before anyone says anything… YES, I know this is a MMORPG so it’s not a huge deal to have to ask for help. I have never had troubles where no one would help (rarely had to ask) and I do go and help people who ask for help. It’s still quite annoying that such large bosses are right at the skill points.

I have not noticed this happening to me before. I completed ambient killer for today and have no champion credit. Maybe there is one, or there are a few, ambient “champions” out there for some sort of joke. Maybe there was a glitch. Either way, it is not normal for ambient killer to count towards champion slayer.

I agree, champions/group event bosses that spawn right at skill points are very annoying. You are forced to ask other people to come kill this boss that they apparently have no interest in fighting otherwise. Veterans are fine though, as long as they don’t respawn too fast. (kill a bunch of mobs, kill veteran, mobs have respawned, kill mobs and veteran has respawned, etc.)

I certainly prefer my PvP separate from my PvE. I’m not a huge PvPer, I will do it sometimes but I’m not that good, I don’t spend enough time in PvP to improve my skill too much.

An open PvP world is fine, if there are other servers that aren’t open PvP. Open PvP servers results in high levels picking on low levels, top geared people picking on lower geared people. Which only serves to make it harder/more annoying for the weaker people to get stronger.

That is, unless the game has a cash shop with higher powered gear available in it. Then the game becomes pay to win/basically pay to play unless you want to get killed a ton.
The last open PvP game I played was Conquer Online. They had a cash shop with good gear in it, I wasn’t willing to dish out the hundreds or even thousands of dollars that other people were willing to do. I could NOT handle much PvP and it was extremely hard to get any good gear without paying a lot of money.

My most unpleasant experience? Those champions and group event bosses that spawn, and camp, right at skill points! You can be the same level as the mobs on that map or even a little higher, but you can’t clear the map without asking other people to come beat this boss with you… and people don’t have much motivation to help, they get bad drops and a chance to get the skill point if they haven’t gotten it yet.

I generally try to help people if I see them asking for help with one of these areas, or really any skill point. But not everyone tries to be as helpful as I try to be, and not everyone likes being forced to ask for the help or wait for hours/days/weeks til the boss is dead when they are logged in and check that spot.

Don’t confuse this with bosses that spawn when you activate the skill challenge, I am perfectly fine with those because they are soloable. :P I’m talking a champion or group event champion/boss that you have to beat before you can even commune at the skill point or activate the skill challenge.

As Belial said, it’s the spam/bot filter. But apparently instead of making it say “Please wait 30 seconds before listing more items.” or something to let you know it’s a filter of some sort, it’s just left telling you there is an ERROR. That is what bugs me the most about it. :P

I’m hoping there are birthday gifts in GW2! I always enjoyed getting a little mini or tonic in GW1.

However, I imagine any gifts in GW2 will be account or soulbound. (Maybe not though!)

I am not 100% sure on this, but here is how I see it and pretty much how I believe ANet would see it.

The member was given access to the items in the guild bank, the items were put in the guild bank. He did not break any rules (that I know of). That is a rude, nasty, disgusting thing to do but he was willingly given access to those items by whoever in your guild gave him access to the guild bank.

Don’t want some thief stealing items? Don’t put it in the guild bank, unless only a few very trusted people are allowed access to withdrawing items. You could even have it so other members are told to ask a member who CAN withdraw to withdraw certain things for them. That way, only a few very trusted people have access and they can somewhat monitor who takes how much.

Exotic is the name for items with orange lettering in the name. It is currently the highest level of gear that has full sets (armor, weapons, accessories, etc.) It has the highest stats, only ascended items beat it and you can’t craft any of the ascended items that have been released yet.

The Halloween mini pets were only sold in a 3 pack. I would say that they will be in a 3 pack for the rest of this month, and probably in future SAB releases as well. Like Tanek said, you never know!

As a level 400 weapon or armor smith, you will be able to make exotic tier weapons or armors, they will have the same stats as any other exotic weapon/armor of the same type in the game. You will also be able to take certain materials and create exotic tier runes.
So no, no advantage really. In general it costs you more, or about the same, to buy the materials and create an item compared to the cost of just buying the item already made off the trading post. Maybe a few things can be a tiny bit cheaper depending on the current TP prices.
However, if you plan on creating a legendary weapon, each legendary requires level 400 in 2 of the crafting professions (check wiki/forums for which legendary requires what).

My Thief is only level 23 right now, but I don’t find him much harder to level than I found my level 80 guardian to level at the start! Guardian used greatsword mostly when leveling.
Thief mostly dagger/dagger so far. I can take on 3 creatures of equal, or even slightly higher level and usually beat them fairly easily just by using Death Blossom skill and sometimes tossing Caltrops and/or Needle Trap in. My traits so far are into condition damage and some into precision. The massive bleeds from using Death Blossom a few times is enough to kill a lot of stuff.

No offense, but then you are probably playing Guardian wrong.

At lower levels (say, sub 20) Guardian damage with a greatsword is flat out higher than a thief’s, plus the various defensive/healing tools they have baked in from the get go.

Thief does get some neat stuff, but it comes later. Much later.

I didn’t say I had trouble leveling my Guardian, it was easy… I just said that I am not finding Thief to be much harder at all. Your first post sounded like you were finding Thief hard to level but Guardian was one of the easy ones. My point was that I have leveled a Guardian and I am currently leveling a Thief and while Thief is harder, it’s not very much harder.
Now, later on, I am sure I will struggle more with my Thief. But I was only talking about early leveling, like your original post said.

I agree with Kichwas! People who make little, or no, attempt at decent grammar, spelling, and punctuation are the ones who bug me. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but as long as you can tell the person put forth some effort to be understood then it’s good enough.

As far as using periods in chat goes, I use them sometimes and sometimes I don’t. I don’t see them as a requirement in chat, but I definitely see no problem with people using them. As others have said, the over use of ellipsis can get annoying! Sometimes I even catch myself using them a bit too much. Oops!

Katz, I’d be willing to help farm too! I really don’t do tooo much farming, but I’ve done enough for 1 weapon and a backpack… planning on getting maybe 1 more backpack and probably 1 or 2 more weapon skins by the end of the month.

I’m on Blackgate as well, so yeah feel free to whisper me or something in game if you want me to help get a few baubles at least.

Nice! It is sad that so many of the achievements have no title to display once achieved Let’s see the return of Incorrigible Ale-Hound, let’s see the food one having you labeled as Gluttonous! Not everything has to have a title, but I feel like there could be some more with titles for sure.

Been playing off/on since launch and had 1 abyss dye. It was not from a drop I got though, it was from me buying 100s of unidentified dyes (when they were cheaper) and identifying them. :P

I think I had over 200 colors unlocked before I got that abyss too.

Whenever I changed my password, it worked on my very first try… it’s really not that hard to come up with something.

Maybe if all Elonians are now undead, thanks to Palawa Joko! But the playable ones are the ‘good’ ones who fight against Palawa, even after being risen through his power.

But the chances of that, I’d say are 0.

I haven’t read all of the comments here, but my very first thought in response to the OP is. “Really? In WvWvW you are rewarded for killing other humans/intelligent races, simply because they aren’t from your home server… and you are worried about the bunnies?”

I have not deleted any level 80s. The only time I would do so is if I had all of my character slots filled, all of them were level 80, and I for whatever reason REALLY wanted to make a new character! I have only deleted 3 characters, I think, and that was when I was just trying every profession for at least a short time.
But I plan on buying enough character slots to have at least one of each profession at some point. :P

I had fun doing the breached wall, it DID get annoying but it was still fun! I did have the advantage of a few other people doing it at the same time, we were able to help each other out… or at least amuse each other when we fell, got laughed at, then the same person laughing fell.

All jumping puzzles in this game are either simple, or a lot more fun to do with at least one other person along. Find a guild mate, friend, or even just a random fun person that wants to do jumping puzzles/skill points with you or even someone who has them done but wants to help anyways… it will always be more fun, even if you still fail! :P

If you spend your gold on gems, then spend the gems on clothes, you are sort of getting your clothes for gold. That is how I got my Witch’s Outfit and my Roses… yes, I do enjoy the outfits/items that give me a skill bar to play with in towns. :P

That said, I would still like to see more armor skins available, as that is what I wear more often and get the most use out of.

I have noticed some little chests on the ground sometimes when I get drops… I can’t say I have noticed that they guarantee a decent loot. I haven’t paid enough attention to remember which drops were in them.

As soon as Eye of the North introduced me to Norn, I wanted to be one… as soon as Guardian was announced, I wanted to be one. I put the two together because they are the race and profession I wanted the most. :P

That said, once I unlock a sixth character slot, I will likely make a second Norn who will be one of the three professions I do not have right now (Ele, Necro, Engi)

My Norn is a Guardian. I rarely use any racial skills, sometimes I do like to play around with the forms though… more for fun than function though.

If we are misunderstanding because your video doesn’t have all of your noises included in it… maybe you should post a video with ALL of the noises related to your problem?

I’m not saying that will change my opinion, just that you can’t complain about people misunderstanding if your video doesn’t have all of the sounds you are talking about.

If you have access to the pets and all of the skins+minipets that you have unlocked, then everything is working properly. As others have said, the HoM was abandoned between EotN and GW2 and has fallen apart/been looted.

You could also say it sounds like professional tennis. They make noises like that while they are swinging their rackets. Does that make it porn? No.
