Terylbrat: There was a different thread addressing this https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Content-temporarily-disabled . You revived an 8+ month old thread that doesn’t directly relate to the issue
Mods: I am not original poster obviously, but the issue addressed here is far too old to be relevant to anything new, and feel you should consider closing. The issue addressed has long since been solved. Unsure why prior poster revived thread when there was one that specifically addressed current issue. I assume they just did not see it.
Edit: I’m not posting again in this thread because it does not need to keep getting bumped.
The link I provided here, is to the same thread as the post that follows, and is the one that should be posted in. The issue in this thread is old, long since resolved, and effectively irrelevant to the current issue, and should be closed or at least avoided by everyone so it can once again be buried.

I had this happen last night twice after killing something in orr. I was only one that got this message out of a couple people. I did not try to loot, it happened as soon as whatever I was attacking died.
By the way, this is the exact same message you get if a merchant is disabled (as was done before) as well as if loot is disabled on a mob (happened with risen grubs when they were giving rare loot continuously)
Arena does not want to hurt the game in any way. People however…
The latest patch notes tell it differently.
I’m not seeing what would make you think that…
But no, you are right, All those people that put so many years into it want to just run it into the ground. Forget about expansions and anything else, just get some money now and get out before they effectively nuke it and tick everyone off. Yep, sounds like a plan. Can’t possibly be people overreacting to basically nothing. So, you might as well quit now right?
I was concerned at first, when I saw the molten pick, but then realized how long it would take for it to pay for itself. Also that it was nothing but a convenience item and didn’t give a real advantage except to maybe save at most a couple inventory slots, and remove the hassle of swapping picks.
But hey, maybe I’m biased since I have no intention of buying the starcakes, and sure wouldn’t pay 30s for one.
well lets see if its below 30 silver in a months time
Why wait a month?
It’s already below it for sale, and buy orders are at ~17s. That’s roughly around cost I think. Not sure how close, too lazy to fully calculate values atm.
The pick, sickle, and axe when it actually comes out, are a bit closer to pay-to-win, but they really aren’t either. Convenience sure, but extremely overpriced when you consider gold to gem conversion, and the fact you’d pretty much never make up the value.
All the other foods are just as viable as they were before, and this one isn’t so special overall. There will be a rush of people using it, feeling they need it, and then the demand will fall off, many will go back to what they used before, if they use anything.
It isn’t a food that suddenly makes you invincible, or doubles your power, it’s roughly around a 5% boost to every core stat. Eh.
But I know people will keep freaking out about it. As well as the next thing that comes out. Unless there is actual pay-to-win, I’m not concerned. And even then, so many more would be complaining, that changes would start to be made. Will they see how far they can go? Maybe, but I do not believe it is a conscious effort to ‘creep in p2w,’ nor will this actually hurt the game in any way, and sure isn’t ‘easy mode.’
Arena does not want to hurt the game in any way. People however…
On June 11th, they said there would be some exclusive items in the rich coffers but afterwards they did change that when the recipe wasn’t dropping. The stats on the food seems a bit higher than it should be, but I do agree it isn’t game breaking or really overpowered. I think it should be adjusted down slightly, but eh.
It isn’t exactly cheap to make. And there are more than enough zhaitaffy to sustain it for a long time. In a few days so many people will have the recipe and able to make them, that the price will most likely stabilize only a bit above cost, giving no one a real advantage.
Whether it’s a new drop in game or from the gem store, people still freak out and allow themselves to be gouged on price just so they can be the first to get something, that isn’t going to make things suddenly that much easier.
I am sorry I just read this.
Back on and around the June 11th update, they most certainly did say there was a recipe in it. I had not heard anything since, but I do remember seeing it mentioned on the rich coffers
Now can you please cease with the whining?
Like myself, you are not entitled to anything, we never bought a rich coffer. So can this be ended or closed?
Official response on the Lag issues please?

As a quick look, I’d have to guess 1/3rd of the logs have no useful ping information, as their routers and/or isp block ping. This isn’t bad, just makes diagnostics difficult.
I keep seeing people saying ’Don’t tell me it’s isp when other games work fine, etc’ but that really doesn’t mean anything… With how the internet is set up, with the different paths data takes, 1 internet provider between point A and point B can wreak havoc with data, especially if their system is getting overloaded only at certain times. These issues, while not the fault of your isp’s nor Arena’s, are effectively beyond their control. They do monitor the servers, and if there is a lot of overload, they should easily be able to see that.
Depending on what is going on in a map, and how many people are there, whether immediately near you or not, the bandwidth usage of GW2 varies dramatically (this is likely to get far worse when culling is removed and is a big concern of mine because my isp is rather… awful), but especially when in combat. Take Tequatl. Everyone standing around waiting for it to spawn, little bandwidth usage. After Tequatl lands, bandwidth usage can increase 10 times, or more.
All it takes is for some of this information to be sent through a path that basically drops the ball, or is congested, and you will get “lag” and rubberbanding, even if the servers and your provider have no issues at all. It is definitely possible for it to effect a large number of people, and not be Arenanet servers nor your specific isp, and could still be an isp issue.
I do not believe they are going to ignore people with issues, and they will investigate, but keep in mind these things take time. And although they said they had plenty of logs at the moment, very few of those logs were while there were actual issues going on I think?
Unfortunately it will be a wait and see kind of thing. And it is likely that some of these issues are actually unrelated. Also, just because they make suggestions to try simple things, even ones you may consider stupid, and as much as it ticks me off… there are reasons why they ask you to try them, because sadly, some people really are dumb. They aren’t intending to treat you that way, but need to eliminate some of the more common.. well… issues.

As for gw2 being the only one with the issue that you have experienced, how many of them use as much memory, processor, and are as large as this is? Yes 2 gb is listed as the minimum, but that has never meant that every system that meets the minimum will be effectively playable since every system is different. Don’t forget at low ram the swap file becomes a large bottleneck. PC’s are not like consoles with same hardware etc. Various things can cause problems in something that otherwise should not, and it is not Arena’s fault. It’s the result of various manufactures all making different hardware that communicates to one another via industry agreed upon standards that is up to each manufacturer to implement.
You also state even taking into account the memory mapped from the Graphics, that you exceed the minimum. I’m guessing you have 4 gb of actual ram? That is also a known related issue with 32-bit Windows, all connected with that evil 4 gig limitation. I remember around XP’s time that 3 gb of physical ram would be fine, but 4 causes things to choke… So if you have more than 1 stick of ram, removing one may make it run smoothly. May seem odd, but has a really valid cause. (As you probably know by now, 32-bit can really only touch, what was it, I think ~3.25 gb of physical memory, but I have heard of some systems having issues even with 3 gb of RAM (I recall most commonly it being compaq’s and maybe dells, but I’m sure other scenarios as well). All due to how the hardware is mapped onto memory. If you have additional expansion cards, like PCI cards, etc, it might help to remove them if they are not truly needed. Not saying it would help, just that it might. I do not know if Win8 behaves differently on 32-bit,or if it organizes anything differently or has more memory hogging tendencies.)
Now, as stated, there are ways you can acquire the 64 bit version to install that don’t have that limit of acquiring only via a 64 bit system, or even better, do you know anyone with the 64 bit disc?
I too am confused as to why there was an expectation of Arenanet to purchase anything.
It is not on them to make a huge list of every possible configuration that may fail. How could they be expected to specifically list ‘This causes problems’ and not list other ones that do so, either? Besides the fact something that causes problems for one person, doesn’t for another, with similar hardware due to various reasons.
It is a 32-bit limitation that has been known since, well, before general public even thought about using 64-bit operating systems. And it was a limitation brought forward in the hardware due in part to desire for backwards compatibility. Besides, why should they cover every contingency, when the information is already out there with a little planning. I have rarely seen games or applications address specific situations like that. Usually forums have the info and that is the only means it is found. Yes it sucks, but the amount of work required to put together a list of all possible problems would likely require you to purchase a compilation, which would not be financially viable to make.
I understand your frustration and so does most anyone with any experience with computer hardware or software. I myself have gotten in a little trouble by not taking into account certain configurations that lead to problems. I blamed no one but myself, or chalked it up to a learning exercise at a very painful cost.
No, they reverted them all. They did it fast because they did not intend to remove the particle effects. The fixes will come back I’m sure.
They just restored the old files because that quickly fixed the mistake that was broken in the attempts to fix the weapons in the first place
I would love to, do have 400 tailor, but do not have the money for all the materials, nor do I have the tears
Like many I am very interested in these.
Saurus, I agree, character never shouts Yarr…. But does however should ‘For Great Justice’
Atleast my human guardian does, which is how I first noticed it. Was a .. Wait what? moment
I’ve been attacked and not have ruined ore/fiber/wood. So when I got to Orr I did not think anything of it and still usually receive the correct things. I have also gathered from a node, with no enemies nearby, nothing attacking nor have attacked me in a bit, and it occasionally still gives me ruined materials.
Just today I ran up to a risen near a cypress, chopped, and received elder wood. I think it was an acolyte. It is not consistent as to when this happens.
Either way it should still be a bug, since things can attack you that spawn just as you start to mine/gather/chop, if that is indeed a cause of it, but as stated, I’ve personally had it happen when not being attacked.
I have only ever noticed it while using orichalcum or black lion tools, which I save for only the highest tier nodes. Happening with those does make you go o.O
I personally have never noticed it happen with anything else that I can remember, but I could be wrong.
forgot to mention try stand down and represent again, change chars, re-zone etc. But do check guild upgrades again and be sure it’s still there as well.
… This is not a bug unless all of the following is true and you cannot still access it. Easy way to see is to look at guild’s current upgrades and see if Guild Stash is there.
The guild you are representing has to research it. and to research it, the guild will have to research a couple things before that, and you have to be given the rights to do so by the guild leader via the ranks.

Blaming the customer for having weak password discipline also doesn’t cut it. All MMO developers have a duty to provide account security irrespective of what happens on other web sites etc.
Oh wow. I wasn’t aware they were responsible for securing the users password and email on every website……
