They have known about this issue for at least a week. The response given was that their would be some other item to purchase as a replacement item.

Obviously they have dropped the ball kitten this one. The issue was brought to their attention well ahead of release and they still missed it.

Experienced this issue too. First run on an ALT is not awarding the full 60 tokens.

Running a path again for the first time with a different character has always yielded full rewards. The bonus daily coin was supposed to be once per account, but all other rewards were to stay the same.

Support Token

Mad Rasputin.7809

You must be new here.

The Support Tokens were not replacing drops, they were additional drops. The Wooden Chest is not a drop that selects what is inside of it, it is an indicator that an item with a rare quality has dropped. You’re still getting every single last Rare weapon and armor piece you would have gotten.

It’s also additional in Black Lion Chests, not replacing.

I don’t care what you or anybody else claims. I have farmed long enough to know that these things are indeed robbing me of true rare drops.

No excuse for them to be in game still. Get rid of them.

This is a small thing, in comparison to what they have currently on their plates, and doesn’t actually affect game function. Considering the fact that the latest patch has borked graphics to the point of crashing, I’d rather them work on that kind of stuff first.

You’re right. Instead of dedicating some resources to fixing the issue with hobo sacks after nearly an entire year, they are better off using resources to make an entire new set of weapon skins. Once again.

Champion Loot
•All champions now drop containers based on their family. These containers have coin, skill points, crafting materials, weapons and armor, and rare chances at unique weapon skins based on family.
•“Defeat the Claw of Jormag”: The champions in this event no longer drop loot.
•Citadel of Flame—Ferrah: Blaclan Firetooth is now a veteran instead of a champion.

No mention of once per day or character/account bound. Seems like a bug. If not, they should at least inform the community.

To encourage players to participate in a wider array of dungeon content, we’ve designed the system so if you complete the same dungeon path twice in one day, you’ll receive the normal reward for completion, but won’t receive the bonus gold reward again during that day.

If they are not granting full tokens to ALTs on the first run per day (as long as DR isn’t kicking in) then this MAY be a bug. I’d suggest reporting it.

why not make both fractals...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Mad Rasputin.7809

Mad Rasputin.7809

There is no reason both can’t be made.

Storyline-wise, the winning candidate was going to ‘sponser’ or ‘fund research’ into a particular fractal. This fractal would then have it’s release date pushed up.

This does not preclude that research can still be happening on the second fractal. It is just not being sponsored/funded like the first one and thus would take significantly longer to finish.

This fits in with their election story line with the winner getting their fractal a lot sooner. No reason the other can not be made at a later date.

Anthony Ordon (a GW2 developer) said they will not make the other fractal. it’s round filed, scrapped, the story of Abaddon’s first fall will remain on a wiki page and that’s it.

I know that the Devs have stated this fractal is now lost. I was just pointing out that story line wise they could have introduced the fractal at a later date and it would have worked. It wouldn’t have lessened their story one bit. The choose to go a different route.

I hate seeing good ideas thrown away needlessly.

I don’t agree with this, not even with the MF argument, but the Devs have made pretty much said anything other than the optimal build is not promoting the party dynamics they wish to and thus zerker is the way to go.

That’s not what they said.

Running anything less than the optimal build is not in the spirit of coorperation. Thus, running anything other than zerker is not promoting the spirit of cooperation they wish to see.

We want to remove the choice players are currently being forced to make on their gear: “Do I go with better stats, or better loot?” This isn’t in the spirit of cooperation that Guild Wars 2 is all about. As such, we’ll be removing magic find entirely as an item stat and turning it into account stat that improved the odds of rare drops for all your characters.

The tone of that language suggests that the spirit of cooperation is more important than any individual goal. The goals of the party outweigh the goals of the individual. Thus running the most efficient build is in the BEST interests of the spirit of cooperation.

Again, that’s not what they mean at all.

It takes some pretty biased and twisted logic to interpret that quote the way you did.

I still read it as the goals of the party are more important than the goals of the individual. That means optimal build for the party is best.

Not really sure how you interpret their comment, but evidently my reading and interpretation of their comment is biased and twisted.

The main issue is the Devs have said MF does not promote the group aspect of the game the way they like. Following their line of thinking with MF, any other stat combination other than zerker is less than optimal and therefore doesn’t promote the group aspect of the game and thus selfish.

I don’t agree with this, not even with the MF argument, but the Devs have made pretty much said anything other than the optimal build is not promoting the party dynamics they wish to and thus zerker is the way to go.

It is widely known, and sometimes debatle, that zerker stats are by far the best stats to have in the game. Bringing anything other than this could be considered selfish.

This is a ridiculous path that they have gone down by talking about eliminating MF and they are, in fact, promoting using one build over any other.

I enjoy the build diversity and the choices available to all. Zerker gear shouldn’t be getting the ‘stamp of apporval’ from the powers that be. Promote build diversity. Don’t promote elitism.

Such an ill-placed comment was stated elsewhere on the forums. That was my fear about ANet appeasing the anti-MF gear crowd-that what they were really opposing wasn’t just MF users being “selfish”, but that only “meta” gear/builds were used, so their speedruns wouldn’t be hampered (did they even stop to think that not everyone even participates on speedruns, and that such a thing doesn’t mean they are “baddies”?)

I don’t mind the MF gear elimination, really. But from there to say that anything that is not Berserker’s is being “selfish”, darn, that’s just intolerance akittens finest.

This is not a troll post, but I am actually disgusted at this, because the “logic” of these individuals is that anything that isn’t what they like is not allowed on their runs. So the solution HAS always been: party with the people that think like you do. MF gear wasn’t “selfish”, it was just another alternative that ANet initially provided. And it was viable just because of that reason. Players who bought the gear weren’t “leeches” out to cheat your group. They just got what the game made available to them. If you don’t like certain gear on people, don’t play with them, and find your own groups, period-stop claiming that the use of certain gear is players being selfish, because you have NO RIGHT to judge someone’s character becaUse they won’t use what you would like them to use.

EVERY STAT COMBO IS VIABLE, AND MADE OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE BY ANET. RESPECT EVERYONE’S RIGHT TO USE WHAT’S MADE AVAILABLE FOR EVERYBODY, NOT JUST WHAT’S POPULAR AND SUPPOSED TO BE “EFFECTIVE” AND THE “RIGHT WAY” TO PLAY GW2.

Berserker’s gear is a fine way to play-and so is everything else in the game.

IF you believe what you just said, then you wouldn’t be ‘fine’ with MF gear removal as it was a viable build option also.

I have read and heard the the mystick forge stone will act as a random ‘exotic’ if you have three other exotics.

Which means, if I put 3 exotic pistols in the forge with a mystic forge stone, it will act as the fourth random exotic.

BUT, I have read that it acts as a totally random exotic. Which means it acts like a random weapon or random armor. This pulls in the armor loot tables also instead of just the weapon loot tables.

Just what I have read, and if true this means the chance for precursor will be a lot lower because you are pulling from both the weapon and armor loot tables instead of just the weapon loot tables.

Not entirely true.

If you put in 3 weapons and a stone, you will get a weapon. You will not get an armor at all.

As I am not a designer I do not know 100% how it works, but the recipes have been modified to work within the new system. I think (take this with a grain of salt) you can spend the tokens on an item that then will be used in the recipe.

Though, there a lot of valid points and concerns brought up in this thread. A total revamp of the system in probably not practicle.

And I have never heard of an Engie complaining about UW combat! Engies are one of the best classes to play underwater. While we may be lackluster above ground, we excel below the surface.

Yeah, they don’t treat FOTM like a normal dungeon. It donesn’t count towards a dungeon daily/monthly and has it’s own seperate category. The rewards have always been ‘different’ also.

They just like to treat it as a seperate entity entirely and I have no idea what type of reward revamp they would be thinking about for FOTM. Even just putting the rewards back to where they were in January would be nice.

Just look at what they did to Orr. Buffed the events there considerably and we are still waiting on the rewards to catch up.

If the Queensdale champs can drop cores/lodestones then that will be the go to place for champ farming. Why bother with high level champs?

At any rate, this should help influx more rare crafting materials into the market. I suspect a few more people might be farming all 3 paths of COE also. All three paths of COE are incredibly easy. The supply of charged cores/lodestones SHOULD go up.

Refund for Gold Find laurels?

in Queen's Jubilee

Posted by: Mad Rasputin.7809

Mad Rasputin.7809

Nothing about the gold find infusion will change it will just be harder to exploit it.

I see where you are coming from now, and there is no reasoning with people like you. If you see using the gilded infusion to run dungeons as an exploit then this whole conversation is a moot point.

I’ve been reading your remarks, and I believe you have this statement reversed. You feel entitled to something, and so far you have rejected EVERY counterpoint brought up (normally not very well).

The infusion hasn’t changed. You can’t argue this point. The bosses will no longer be dropping money, true, but what if the reverse where to happen. What if they doubled the coin drop from bosses. Would all the other players then be entitled to a refund on their non cash-cow infusion? They are increasing the rewards from champions. This might influence their coin drop too. Can I get a refund on my MF infusions?

What if they nerf your current spec (say you are condition and have full carrion gear). You spent time and money building your gear (lets just say you have ascended items since they tie in with laurels). Should you get a refund? I have a back piece (one of the arrow sheath skins) sitting in my inventory because their destroyed the spec that used those stats. Am I entitled to a refund?

This is probably a pointless argument, as you will no doubt just ignore it or maybe worse, agree that with EVERY change in the game, EVERYTHING gets refunded so you can alter your gear without effort. They only cost 20 laurels, it’s not the end of the world if you need to spend the next 20 days to change it (and this is coming from an altaholic that will be changing at least 2 necks when the patch hits).

I’ve never claimed the infusion has changed. I have said numerous times, the infusion still functions. Just the usefullness of it has changed.

Most of the ‘counterpoints’ brought up here simply boil down to: using the gilded infusion for dungeon boss coin drop is an exploit, you’ve already gained a benefit from it so you deserve nothing, or quit crying it still works.

Nerfs happen all the time, and no, not everyone is entitled to any form of compensation all the time.

But when they change basic functionality of the game like a total revamp of dungeon rewards and the total removal of MF from the game, there are serious issues that occur. These are not simple little ‘tweaks’ to the game that cause nerfs. They are major revamps of the entire system.

Everyone jumped down the OP’s throat for bringing up what is a valid point. They have a legitimate concern. They shouldn’t have been berated and called a whiner and an exploiter.

And I personally don’t feel entitled to ANYTHING. The OP has a valid point and the change to dungeon rewards WILL affect the viability of the gilded infusion. If they feel a little cheated/slighted I see their point and support them.
