Skyhammer was never in teamq rotation. However you guys are right, this map doesnt belong to any kind of competitive queue

I just dont play it.
I really like GW2 but the fact that i cannot play it with 1 or 2 friends makes me play other games instead. Also, the solo arena experience is really bad (skyhamer cough cough)
Find another game that you can play with 2 friends and stop the frustration.

Asuras are not even an issue. They should fix 4v5, matchmaking, ladders, skyhammer, class balance, proper rewards, game modes, etc.

This will do nothing for Guild Wars 2.
Whether or not it does something, how does that affect you in any reasonable way? Does it take away something from you? Are you negatively impacted by it?
If it does nothing that is fine, live goes on. Gw2 pvping not working out, is not the end of the world, afterall it is just a game.
They could use the resources and money to actually fix the game and hire someone, everyone knows really few devs work on pvp if any

because, it is balanced, that is why.
berserker stance
- 8 or 10 seconds duration
- 52 or 50 seconds down time
- immune to conditions only
- will die from direct damage
- susceptible to crowd control skills
- take up 1st utility slotendure pain
- 4 or 5 seconds duration
- 56 or 55 seconds down time
- immune to direct damage only
- crippled, chilled condition effects still affect movement speed
- susceptible to crowd control skills
- take up 2nd utility skill slotbalanced stance
- breaks stun upon activation
- from 8 seconds duration of stability and swiftness
- 40 seconds recharge time, around 30 seconds down time
- stability boon can be very easily removed
- will die from condition damage and direct damage
- take up 3rd utility skill slotmesmers get it free from f4, no need to use utility skill slot
engineers and elementalist only need to use 1 utility skill slotwarriors need to use all 3 utility skill slots to achieve the same effect, and yet the stability boon can be so easily removed.
it is balanced.
warriors do not have un-removable stability unlike mesmers, engineers and elementalist.
Engineers and elementalists cannot do actions while they are immune.
Warrior can solo 2 people while being immune.
Engineers and eles lose the node while they are immune.
Warrior doesn’t.

We did ship with 3 round round tournaments with 8 teams and rewards were based on placement. However, the barrier to entry was high and queue times were long. Having a structured (in-game) way to support multi-round tournaments again would be fun though.
Reimplement free tourneys limited to one per day.
One tournament every day at 21.00 for example.
The system could start with 8 teams only but it would be even better if there was no preset number of teams
ie; only 2 teams join make it 1 round, if 4 teams join 2 rounds, 8 teams 3 rounds, etc
Rewards would be adjusted depending on the number of teams (gold? Gems? Titles?)
Also after you are eliminated in later rounds you are invited to watch the finals
This is a good point. We’d like to revisit this system at some point.
What types of specific stats do you want to see (keep in mind combat stats vs “gamemode” stats)? How much info is too much info?
I think it’s good to show more info for these types of things, but keep in mind that if we add too much, it can be overwhelming for some players. Due to that we’d want to find a nice balance between too little and too much.
-Total Damage done
-Total Healing done
- #of kills (only the player stomping or last hiting the downed gets the kill)
- #of assists
- #of deaths
I really think that K/D/A is important in GW2 because of it’s nature. Sometimes you don’t know what’s going wrong and this info would be really helpful.
ie: you may be dying too much (too many deaths), maybe you are too bunkerish (low Kills & assists), the bunker is not stomping properly (too many assists), the far point assaulter is being killed all the time, etc.

You played with cleric? Mate, there’s literally no cleric eles playing competitive pvp. That amulet is nothing but heals, you really lack all the damage.
If you are playing that build you are harming your team.

As everyone knows you can get out of LOS in waterfall, so foefire was imbalanced as the blue team had this advantage.
However now you can do the same in quarry.
I expect more changes like this one in other maps. I’ll give a couple of suggestions:
>Some boxes or objects you can use to jump to the upper level of Nifhel midpoint
>A very small roof in Skyhammer midpoint that you can use to cover yourself from the hammer

Would this work as a pre-match filter for matchmaking, or as a map vote system?
The best idea i’ve read is:
When queue pops two maps are selected randomly. Then players can vote which of the two they preffer before joining.
The map that gets the most votes is the one that will be played.
The advantage is that it won’t make queues any longer

Most of the time the team with more engis&mesmers will just win.

I guess it was a little mistake by some forum admin because I cannot see any other reason. I mean, we are trying to improve the game right?

Oh I’d rather see ANet address some of the balance issues in PvP before they start removing maps from solo queues.

There are many threads in your forums poping up every day about the removal of Skyhammer.
The main skyhammer thread has over 4000 views and many pages filled with complains.
This map is very well known for glory farm abuse and other exploits. There are many other bugs related to knockbacks. Also, sometimes you fall down and you are not killed so you cannot respawn.
Many hardcore PvPers have quit the game and this map was one of the reasons.
Skyhammer was released on July 9th. After almost 1 year the hate towards it is still growing.

Ele is only viable now because of the awesome celestial amulet and the broken runes of strenght. If they are nerfed the ele will be back to crap lvl
Id like to make a point.
The “Remove Skyhammer” percentage is actually higher than the poll shows. Keep in mind that many people has quit GW2 because of this map and they don’t visit the forums anymore.
I’m sure, however, that many people would come back if this aberration was removed.

Soloque is supposed to be casual and fun.
Skyhammer is the only time I have fun playing soloque, because no matter how awful my teammates I Can still do work on the team and win matches we shouldn’t have won.
No one has fun in skyhammer.

Yo, this is my daily remove skyhammer post.
Remove it. It’s crap.
It would be a really nice implementation for the game. Coming from League of legends it is a feature i really miss.
To balance it make both teams have at least 1 duoq premade.
Currently if you want to play with a friend you have to lf 3 more. That may not want to continue after you lose 1 game and then you have to start lfm again.

Engis in skyhammer
They specc as bunkers and can knockback you to death easily.
If you choose to ignore them they can just oneshot everyone in a teamfight because they have a free skyhammer.
They are godlike imo

you have to be somewhat near the treb fire that is incoming or you won’t hear it. but you should hear enemy grabbed a repair kit, enemy repaired their trebuchet, etc. only reason with those settings i can think of is if somehow your sound is coming out in mono, either left or right channel only, and the other channel is where the voice was coming from?
I dont hear the warning even if they throw trebuchets to me.
I recently reinstalled the game and started pvping again.
However I noticed that when I’m playing Battle of Kyhlo I don’t hear the “Trebucheeet” voice anymore. I don’t get the repair kit messages either.
Were they removed? Does this only happen to me?
If yes, should i reinstall?

I’d rather have a way to select which map I want to tournament in. Skyhammer is actually a great map. Whiners will keep whining unless this map becomes a braindead map like the other ones, ruining it for those of us who enjoy it. I was pretty sad when I saw how they added safeguards to the map because of whiners, as all it does is make pulling abilities that much stronger than pushing/fear abilities.

Holy cow, how many patchs do I have to wait for them to remove this map. I want to come back to gw2 but this map …
I saw the tournament of legends yesterday and the game seems way better nowadays. However, if you can’t make a team you are forced to soloqueue and this map destroys the whole experience.
