Sorry I’m late to the party.
Just few words: give us this skin, devs. You toyed with us enough by teasing it will be available via mesmer videos, just like you did with the town clothing.
Even through the gem store. Let us buy the things we want, not just a chance for the things we want.
Hi Max.
Usually when a new armour skin is added to the gem store, it’s also added to the PvP locker, from where you can preview it with every type of armour. So just teleport to the Mists and check them out there. You can also preview dyes on them.
Hope this helps.
My second guardian, made in memory of my paragon.
I’d really like a variant of guild armour without the crest. The original banded boobplate is kittening me off. The adornments on the male version are beautiful, on females, the first thing you see is a stupid boobplate. This is why my main is an asura.
Every summoned creature, be it elemental or trader – dies. What the heck, can’t they just vanish?…
Asura with skimpy armor would be awkward. Who would want that?
And what differences would you want between the Male and Female versions?
Ribbons, you know, Miss Pacman style.
Kidding.
If you look up what asura were wearing GW1, you will find a great diversity of patterns, colours, headdresses and beads that could be used in GW2. For some reason it weren’t. These designs were not exactly (if at all) gender based, but more diverse.
I like the lack of gender dimorphism in asuran wear, it’s why my main is an asura, I just miss all the richness of their clothing.
Hair is possible… Not sure about the face however, Taimi is a child, and she has her own unique model I think.
Pretty sure Marj’s face is in the makeover pack, but the textures aren’t the same, so no striking red lipstick for ya.
But more options are always good. I wouldn’t stop on few.
Please, let us use it already…
(fit bodybuild, bunch of teal dyes)
Thx for the code OP, I could finally try it on…
If someone is thinking on buying Phalanx for asura… 800 gems well spent, though it hit my pockets very hard.
A giffy from the login screen.

Luxon 1k ele female armor. Simply charming and those dangle earrings.
Yay, the only light skin armor I’ve been waiting for and… What the hell with the gigantic boots and gloves? Do I really have to change my character’s body build to have a decently proportioned armor skins? She doesn’t look like she has shovel palms without the armor, so nope, I won’t change the build, I will sit here and wait till someone scales down those parts. Which means never. No gem purchase.
Such a nice armor. Been waiting so long. And such a disappointment.
Enjoy! I hope she animates well.
I’m not sure which face template she’s using (if it’s not her own, pretty sure she uses custom textures). Would these sliders do? I was playing around with my char’s face template, and came up with the face you see in the attachment. If you like it, here are all the screenies with sliders settings: http://imgur.com/a/G5lEw#0

Either you want to pick other, safer hairstyle, or bear with clipping. There’s no way to have both with longer hair, unless you want it to have a one stiff shape of a lampshade, which will by default avoid clipping with the widest armor/shoulderpads, and result with floating weirdly over the toon’s body while lighter armor is equipped.
A realistic solution would be modifying the hair mesh to fit it to all the available armors in the game, so the game would switch to proper mesh while you equip that armor. But, yeah, I don’t see anyone doing that.
To be honest, I reckon the current hairstyles are working as intended (except for the real clipping-through-the-skull, texture, weighting and transparency issues).
This are of course my own ideas based on experiences with games that do similar thing (In Lineage 2, some dark elves armors had long, spiky collars, that would clip with long hair, so while those armors were equipped, the hair on the back was switched to a ponytail) and a little bit of 3D modeling, so I don’t expect you to believe this is how things are done, but heck, you don’t even believe the devs who are experts in 3D and say that there’s always some amount of clipping that is impossible to get rid of.
I think that the OP means the edges of the hair strands rather than textures.
The issue for that lies mostly in transparency than the quality of the textures (I dunno how’s that for a comparison, but I’m adding a screenie below – I think that textures are the same in the preview and in the world. My desktop is five years old. I run on mediun shaders, low post processing and no/low shadows. Oh, and SMAA). Besides, character creation preview has the most “default” lighting possible, fixed especially to pretty up the looks.
In game, this will change at almost every step. You’ll find places where your char looks odd, and places where they will look awesome (HoM and snowy areas for me).
I don’t know much about rendering transparent materials, but the display will be affected depending of your screen resolution, anti aliasing, the distance of your camera, and surroundings (presence of other alpha based materials either in front or behind your character) rather than the quality of the textures.
Heh… And this is why I prefer to pick the “safer” hairdos, so I won’t fixate on such details like I usually do, so believe me OP, I know “that feel”.

It’s absolutely no problem to display few meshes at once (head+hair+mask), game just needs to know what to display and when. The problem is to not have it clipping badly with each other, this is why hairstyles and some facial hair disappear while “closed” helmets are equipped. But nevermind this, I’m only speculating how this work, I don’t know this engine. Thou I really think changing accessory color is completely possible to add. The textures/masks are there, the function is there, the rest is, as usual, a matter of work and resources.
Making the accessory disappear as someone mentioned above, that could be too bothersome IMO.
To make it accessible to armor dye, would they have to code it as armor? And would that make it clash with the helms? There may be a reason why they have it separated out the way it is.
Think of hair as of another helmet with two colorable areas, that we can’t unequip, unless we swap it for another helmet. Those are all swappable meshes. Same would go for the body and the underwear too.
My idea of making this work would be disabling the hair color area for the player, but enabling the hair accessory area, available for dyeing while the helmet is removed.
This is not impossible to add, it partially exist in the game already as you see in the character creator, but would require remaking the hero panel. I’m not sure why we can’t have this option, again, saying “gem store” would give you some idea of why not, though.
they need to hire some koreans to design the armors
By the gods, please no.

I guess I’m in the minority, but I like the light armor on my main char (human female), and I like the looks on the males as well. I do feel for people who plan to get this, but picked the same or similar body type as I did. Proportions went out of the window again.

Anet has great heavy armor designs how you can see in his concept arts. However and I don’t know why, they bring us heavy armors that look medium armor and so horrible, Ascended and Aetherblade heavy armor skins are two examples.
The first one is the GW1 costume, http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Agent_of_Balthazar Balthazar’s Doublet The second is the god Balth himself.
Also mr Kekai who drew these, doesn’t work for ANet anymore.

I sincerely hoped there will be more of it. Oh well.
I have animations set to medium, and most of them are actually animated, and I noticed that some of the old hairdos were improved in this regard.
Pretty sure the new female asura ponytail is static and looks odd.
I don’t have this particular issue, but I would like to add something. Important.
It’s static! All other female hairstyles are animated, while this one is stiff as…. .obj :d
Scrying Pool 2.0 would be a cool feature.
I agree. All campaigns had unique OSTs, but EotN was exceptional. The battle themes were also more “responsive” when you engaged a fight with larger enemy groups (this was implemented with Nightfall), so the maps felt more dynamic.
I don’t think we get to hear “The Scrying Pool” or “Iron Footfalls” in GW2, so I recommend to check out whole EotN soundtrack. :]
So does anyone have pics of the new dyes anywhere?
Are they for sale on the TP like the Flame and Frost dyes?
I am asking because I will never spend real money or gold on RNG
Yep, you can already see them on the TP, same icons as the frost/flame dyes. They’re all kind of glaring green, acidic green, dirty green and more green.
Both.
15chars
Doesn’t happen just underwater, but always when there’s latency issue while any piece of your equipment change. By default, all colorable areas on textures are red. For some reason only eyes are affected.
Edit: Pic. I was swapping my chestpiece here, then ran into Hoelbrak portal.

They have names
Track 88 is “A Storm is Comming”, Track 47 is “Kathandrax” from Guild Wars: Eye of the North.
Race: Sylvari
Sex: Female
Profession: Necro
Armor Set: Snapdragon (Shoulders, chest, pants)
Description: I was excited for this armour and the colours I picked for it, until I left the Hero: Dye mode. The real world model’s colours were washed out and not as vibrant as the preview model. This screenshot was taken in Lion’s Arch.
(Please ignore all the horrible spellings in chat box =] thank you!)
I’m partially guessing here basing on my observation, but the differences in looks of your armor may have mainly something to do with the environment you’re in (even the day and night light affect this). Some areas have completely different specular lighting than the others, the preview window has the most neutral lighting as possible.
My server is “The Overflow”. Takes about 2 % off him.
Peeps prefer to farm the champs that spawn behind.
I’d say Worrt has a cute face. Question is, WHEN?
I recognize the pants. It seems to be NPC specific casual wear of sorts. Tekk, the Rata Sum banker and related NPCs around him wear them as well. Top, boots and gloves are too dark on this pic to recognize details.
Here’s a nice pic of Allods cc options for inspiration: http://bogdanbl4.deviantart.com/art/Character-customization-396389472
I thought it would be rather like “what the heck are those boob windows for?”, but okay, can go with that too.
/s
“Stares at boobies”
“You kitten perv!”
Relevant attachment:
I was scared this is the issue too, but if you approach a Weapon Specialist while having the ticket in you inventory, additional dialog option will be available and you will be able to trade your Jade ticket.

Well, I can go with silence if it’s intended, but after finding similar issues in other instances that seem to be fixed by now (Fireheart Rise), but the question is, is it really intended?
Also, you don’t have to mute the game, there’s an option to silence just the soundtrack.
I’m not sure where I should start this topic, anyways.
Since the launch, HoM was my favorite place to make screenshots of my characters, since it’s a small instance with great lighting, and probably the only place in the game my PC can handle on best graphical settings. But I noticed that after the song which plays at the place you port to HoM from ends, no new song is following.
So yeah, I like to idle there, and I don’t like the silence. Streaming from youtube is a bit anti-climatic.
I know not everyone have access to HoM, and not everyone who have spend more time there than it’s necessary to pick up the skins, but it’s odd that there’s no audio in the instance, except for environment or character’s sounds.
I think I’m the only person on my server wearing this.
^ Gosh, this, I wanted to use it, but it’s just impossible to make it look good on my chars. Went with #4 though, and I was finally happy. The clipping issues with my favorite armors forced me to change to #2 thou.
Unfortunately, shorter hairstyles are the only way to avoid such problems, so I guess I’d like to have more shorter or tied on the back haircuts.
(edited by Marge.4035)
Still waiting. I’m curious, wanna see if there will be something that could allow my GW2 ele look more like her GW1 counterpart. Even if not – like I said, more options, and more options are always welcome.
Pretty please? I bet it would be easy to implement, with minimum rigging, or even no animation at all, since it’s short.
Race: human, female
Class: Ele
Body type: first attachment, 3d pic
Armor: Vigil light.
I know I’m the only one in Tyria wearing this one, but there’s a large hole on the back of my character on the lower body mesh. Previously I thought it’s where lower and upper body meshes meet, but since I can’t identify where the seam is exactly, I’m not sure if the issue appears on the seam, or slightly below it (2nd attachment).
EDIT:
3d attachment I forgot about: some clipping issues of the top piece on the sides, picture shows only right side, but it occurs on both left and right side. It’s constant.
Thanks for making the thread sticky again.

Bump: still there.
Chill.. That legacy armor is nothing more but a gem store skins.
Oh gem store? So they’re not the Guild Wars 1 armor?
Current gem store legacy skins are Primeval, Krytan and Profane.

For some reason I like these. They’re simply more adorned versions of the low level skins we currently have (with some jewelry). What do you guys think?

Pixels made of fire… Fire made of pixels…. Nevermind, just thought it looks cute.
Since we’re at it, I’d like a possibility to gift my jade skin ticket to someone. I wanted two daggers, but I never got luck in getting two tickets. I have no use for one, so…
Since the Queen’s Jubilee release, all character previews in login screen, haircut change/race change services are deformed as on presented pictures. I can’t see if it happens in character creation screen due to all my char slots being full.
Characters themselves are okay in game and in menus. The issue occurs only on these small portraits.
OMG, Jatoro’s letter? It was like for 2 or 3p back in the days.
