Well… Each of these daily can be done during ordinary game play.
A-a-and the difference between new “end game” amulets and old in a total of about 20 stats max. Thrust me, you will not notice the difference.
Grind, in this game, exists only in minds.
I think warrior with a rifle can do damage not less than the Ranger with a pet. As for the “right of control”, you did try? Pet has “inhibited” reaction to commands, and often runs through AoE, where it can be avoided. In the end, he dies on his own stupidity and not the fault of the owners. In addition pupils are not trying to go behind his back to the enemy, from which die in the melee of Cleve. Remote pets weak and “skew”. In the end, it turns out, the warrior and the best ranger in distance fighting.
I think the developers need to either warrior nerf or buff other classes. I think it is wrong, when after playing warrior or guardian for any other class, clearly felt that this class is definitely worse.
i don’t have any problem with warriors on my ranger. I can see them and avoid their big hits. Thieves are the real problem.
I thought this post about PvE balance.
Since we talk about pvp – my warrior destroys the average ranger for 5-10 seconds of fight. HP rarely drops even a third. Well… it fights with rangers it rarely decreases significantly at all.. =/
In my opinion not very… honest balance

Never, in my memory, I have problems with the removal of conditions on warrior or reducing the distance to the target. The idea of ??design certainly works – a warrior stronger in close combat tham ranged. But it does not work quite right. Since the ranged warrior is not worse than the other classes. But melee – it’s much better then others.

Please make an animation of ranger’s one-handed sword smoother. I do not know how about other races, but madly jumping norn girl, so that in the eyes dazzled, looks very silly. Irritant. This is half the reason why I do not use it.
Why not to add the ability to move in a downed state? If so the downed character can swim, why he can not crawl? It would be just gorgeous. Allowed to think of a creep out of AoE or try to deal with mobs, for example. Adrenaline would increased.
Such a beautiful set, and all shine through. Quite difficult to screen. But with certain animation opens the naked truth.
When will be fixed size of one-handed weapons for norn female? Many swords just goes into the ground for quarter when hanging on a belt.
In the black citadel, near the new trader for the laurels, under certain perspective texture lost. Not only from my side. Checked several times.
Well, devs could make each of them a little harder in this case. That will be a challenge. Better then dozens of them at ones running like a wind. I think that now Orr is more atmospheric, and.. well.. realistic, than before. And, yes, have you notice a new animation? Even when they are standing still. Great!
I decided to find and edit this topic, due to the pleasant change. =3
The developers have worked hard to increase the expressiveness of Orr. New risen’s animation looks amazing. The fights now are pleasant and impressive. And the undead finally stopped running at light speed. Hooray!
Only a couple of gripes:
Don’t developers have increased their size TOO much? Now they are above the highest Norn >_>
And why not to add the same animation to… em… normal (I mean non-overgrown with underwater vegetation) risens?
The game is gorgeous. The most beautiful and expressive MMO of all. Rich, elaborate and versatile. Lacking only the fishing and camping =3. Best game ever. Way to go, Anet! I am glad that the developers have not followed the path of standardization and simplification, as it is now raised.
I wish to the devs and their project a successful future. Thank you, Anet )
Sounds smart and reasonably, but, in reality, this is not entirely true. Orr has very(!) few places where you can actually run through the risens, where you will not be persecuted at least five of them constantly. They take half of Guardian’s hp killed in thougness for 8-12 seconds. So, what to talk about glass elementalist freely walks there – sounds like a fairy tale. Try to run from desmina’s hollows to compass plaza, runs through promenade of the gods or north of the royal tombs. Try to run to the west of the temple of Lissa. Count the number of seconds you will run. Many such examples. So, by your logic, have to fight. But there are many dozens of mobs. And the battle turns into an endless carnage of pesky monsters without profit. The first couple of months, it was still fun. But you learn all theyr’s abilities (of which risens have a maximum of three) in a week. And they turn into ordinary pesky critters. Many(!) critters. They do not have any special tactics, like karka have, for example. Often, to get from point A to point B has to kill a couple dozen of them, not stopping for a second. It’s annoying. You try to ignore them – even more annoying. It turns out, as I said in the first post: they are not difficult – they are just annoying.
As for the atmosphere of the warzone – you feel a warzone? I do not. I think if they were grouped in secluded areas, and would not be smeared uniformly dense layer around the whole location – it would be more atmospheric.
And why do they have 150% run speed? Do not you think it’s stupid? But if they shuffled by 66%, or even less – it would be more atmospheric and more like the undead. You want to fight – fight them. Afraid slowly but surely approaching the crowd of ghouls – run. Delicious! Much better than the crowd crazed acrobats, flashing before my eyes from side to side.
If so developers want to force players to kill them, it’s better to add to them a nice loot. All problems solved immediately.
(Offtop) Admit it, rather hypocritically, cutting all the possible ways to earn in the world PvE, and then claim that they did not want to see all sat in fractals, and they want more demand for of the world PvE. =\ Developers are beginning to remind me blizzards. And I do not like it at all.
(edited by MeGaZlo.9516)
You should not teach people to avoid them. The question of atmosphere. Also, do not be a hypocrite. You do not know the capabilities of each class with different gear. Perhaps warrior or guardian with knight set easily kill them or run out. But elementalist or necromancer in berserk, for example – the question is different. Here’s a little diorama for you =3 try to count

In fact, Orr – a sort of post-nuclear city in the format of fantasy. I think this is what was intended. Look around – dark gray desert, ruins of huge structures, strange-looking arch stretching into the sky. Sharp black rocks, punched out of the fog over the water. Low black clouds, greenish sky. Quiet, insinuating music, like the technical noise.
I think this place is meant as a sinister and desolate. Legion of undead sports, clog all the surrounding space, so no room to swing a cat, significantly spoil the atmosphere. Undead should not be a lot, they have to hide in dark places. Like waiting. And there already, jump and chase after you. Or, if realy need to save a massive amount of undead, they have to be slow. As if press against you all the time, creating a sense that they have no end. That was the choice, cut them out left and right forever, or just run away.
And when they are on all sides, that already dazzled in the eyes, and they run like cheetahs with a jet engine in the kitten the feeling that they are just an unpleasant misunderstanding and simply annoying. The atmosphere is lost. They do not give you to admire surroundings, and you do not want to beat them – it’s pointless and boring, because after a couple of meters is still the same 100 500 of them will pursue you at breakneck speed.
I’m not about profit. But about special atmosphere. Think about exploration. Same karkas hits hurt and have far aggro. Can be quite tricky as to avoid them as kill them. They are difficult. This is interesting. They behave, in a way, realistic, right? Same story with corrupted in the frostgorge. Just to kill them easier than to avoid them, often. And it’s not bad.
But risen… You killed five – came five more, killed them – came eight new, killed those too – first pack respawns already. Avoid them? Impossible. Run out? They are running, probably with a 150% speed, not less. Every few meters a cloud all conceivable control flies at you. Flock of ridiculously fast zombies annoying pokes you from all sides… and little eagles with strength of the dragon… =P
And fight with them? Half of fight you haul on the ground in different directions. Do not feel like brave hero, who defeats the dragons, but a sack of potatoes.
(edited by MeGaZlo.9516)
For the evening I run whole orr by three or four characters, digging ore. And I just, simply, can not enjoy the process. I would love to kill them, but it’s just pointless, because after meter is again dozen of these creatures. =( I love the fight in this game, but I hate to fight with risens
Seriously, they are terribly(!) annoying. Not difficult. That is A N N O Y I N G. After an hour of running around Orr, I have a headache. I understand that the developers were trying to achieve the effect of city “flooded” by undead. However, there too many of them. They are everywhere! And what … for they made them so fast? Had to fight with them and not run away? Would still have to, aniway. It’s ruin whole atmosphere. In addition, they are behind you faster than you hit them by charge. This is stupid.
They pulling, pushing, poisoning, slowing, immobilizing, burning, blinding, stunning, etc, etc, etc… It is worth taking a few steps, and you have a dozen of these creatures on you. Seriously, reduce their running speed, at least. Twice. I think the curve undead should waddle and shuffle, and not to fly with the speed of sound. =3
Ever tried to fight with five purifiers (Or whatever they are? With anchors.)? More than half of the battle rolled on the ground belly down.
Oh oh! And the eagles? Why pathetic, little bird strikes three times harder than a huge ugly abomination? o_O
(edited by MeGaZlo.9516)
Wild Endorse! Suggest this earlier myself. It would be just gorgeous. I’ll even uncover my ranger for the sake of it.
Maybe create a petition? =3
I would agree on the ability to stow pet even without damage buff. Just give NORMAL damage to ranger. And do not tell me stories about the fact that Ranger:
a) have normal damage, just have no burst – it’s lies and nonsense
b) ranger’s damage compares to other by pet – it is not so
c) ranger do not need damage, ranger deff class type – it is absolute heresy
Many other classes, having several times more mobility are able to grant one stroke crits with 8k, 10k, 15k damage, while having more damage with AA and higher survival rate. All I see in ranger now – is class for those who like “green” theme. With a pitiful damage, stupid mechanics, and half of absolute kitten utility.
I am silent, that most of the weapons is totally boring compared to other classes. Playing other classes I see action RPG. Playing rangers I see unfinished warcraft.
If devs will improve longvow by 50% – even this will not correct the ranger’s problems
Remove hunters shot to hell and replace it with a such cool thing like a sniper shot ( http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sniper_Shot_%28Snowball_Mayhem%29 ) with huge damage, like a scout on Snowball Mayhem have. For those who do not know – the damage of this thing is proportional to the cast time. The exact maximum time I can not remember (about 8-10 seconds), but it gives almost 1shot (15-20k). For me, it fit perfectly with the archetype of “powerful sniper”. Increase the damage of rapid fire by 20% and give vulnerability to each hit. And it will be just fabulous.
No. Hunter’s shot is there for its usefulness in groups, with 10% more damage dealt to the enemy from your entire group.
This game doesn’t need more extremely high burst damage abilities, but less. Running around oneshotting ppl, can’t understand why some of you want that type of game – it sucks.
Rangers are decently balanced. Most of the other classes? Not so much.
Looks like you just not tried it. It is not easy to do full cast. This adds a tactical element in the fight, instead of dumb pressing buttons without cd. 10 stacks vulnerability to Rapid Fire – a worthy compromise.

It’s no secret that the long bow now is, quite simply, kitten. Assumes that it causes a massive amount of damage at long range but ranger just not able to inflict a lot of damage. So yap… Have to wait until the developers will understand.
I think the devs just believe that the ranger is much cooler than it actually is.
I absolutely adore steal. It is perfect in the dungeons as well as in PvP.
Please fix the size of one-handed weapons of female-norn. Size is too large. Almost half of the swords “goes to the floor”.
I would like to see a cities filled with a variety of event and mini games. Like a shooting gallery or some tavern fights, catching criminals. Or, conversely, the possibility of robbing some nobles
. With some cash awards. Or an opportunity to get unique recipes. Or citie clothes. Something like this.
I would also like more variety “useless” traders. Selling various clothing, flowers, food etc. To increase the realism and the occupancy of cities. Thought that such magnificence as GW2 sities stands idle vain just killing me.
What about link on “online manual” right in login panel?
Play another class. Bugs become many times more… unnoticed at once =)
If you haven’t tried using a drake in PvP, maybe you should. I’d say at least 75% of the time people don’t even TRY to avoid the breath attacks because people rarely pay attention to pets.
All of your theorycrafting about why it won’t work will go out the window when you realize how effective it actually is.
I never said it wouldn’t work. I said it won’t work against high level players, which isn’t the majority of the player base.
So high level players have unlimited stun breaks and condition removal, never make mistakes, and are totally infallible?
Or is it just that there are no “high level” Ranger players, so it’s totally impossible that a Ranger can ever outplay a “mid level” or “low level” player? Your argument is ridiculous.
I’ve already stated that it’s not 100% effective, but that when it does work it’s awesome. You can continue to believe whatever you want, but it’s obvious that you haven’t spent much time playing with drake pets in PvP.
Players do not turn aside from drake’s breathing? You’re kidding! I can hardly bring the mob under it. Hits, at best, 20% of all uses. And it’s probably only with QZ O_o
You didn’t read anything in the rest of this thread, did you?
Yep. I did.
I agree. Do not necessarily to do fear only necromancer’s cond. But obviously it is necessary to make necro best of it. The increase of base duration to 2 seconds at least – would be quite fine.

Ranger problem deeper than the low damage or spirits with questionable usefulness. Class without a soul. If at some point the developers were afraid that ranger would become overly popular and killed all interesting in it. Simply boring to play them. Those who started the other classes, just understand it. When you playing ranger you feeling that it was created just for it to be and no more. From here most of the weapons with one only usable autoattack, 2/3 of useless skills and wacky traits that are crookedly work also (look at the marksmanship/mb/nature magic line).
The class mechanics – a different story. Unfinished pets could be quite normal supplement if they WERE supplement(!). But, for some reason, the entire class was tied to his mechanics, despite the fact that any synergy is not observed (just look at the Mesmer to understand what I mean). You just forced to work on pet, because many abilities do not work when it’s dead, more than half of your traits improves only pet and it is too large part of your damage. Show me a second class, the mechanics of which die in combat taking away the half performance. Also, for some reason, the developers also decided to remove the possibility of resurrecting it (supposedly many players inadvertently raised the pets instead of other players (why not make it so that only the ranger could resurrect a pet?). Looking at all this start involuntarily believe to some developers’ lack of love to this class. If in short – class stupid, dull and weak. Here, you need something more serious than a minor readjustment digits damage. And looking at the last promised “super” fix – I doubt that it will be.
I faceroll everytime i get 25 bleed stacks / fire / poison on PvE content.
Not to mention your pet does like damage aswell =X
I cant even remotely think of a class that can get to 25 stacks so very often as a ranger.Thief with 2xdaggers/shortbow and caltrops. But it will be aoe with impressive radius and twice as much phisical damage. Even faster than the ranger to a point, it seems. The entire screen is in the numbers. Unforgettable sight. )
Yeah but that thief will be useless after that seeing as how their initiative will be gone… And last I checked the ranger puts his up with 2-3 skills the thief has to use caltrops and then spam leaping death blossom until their initiative is gone
Do not quite understand what do you mean by 2-3 skills.
Ranger can keep stacks of bleeding only on one target (anyway, I have not seen the huge kite radii in dungeon or mobs line up to their backs to you). A thief can easily hangs bleeding on all mobs in pack, with AOE damage causing about 70% more than ranger’s AA. When the initiative was over he can attack to the point with a huge damage (as I noticed autoattacks of daggers thief’s most powerful damage to a point in the game) with a 7% chance to regain the initiative. There is a roll for initiative. 20% to gain initiative from any crit. Usually pack experiencing up to 2 series of DB spam only. In any case, thief can do 1 DB every 2-5 seconds and the total damage will be dramatically exceed damage of ranger (Incidentally DB – an automatic evade that veeery good, i think).
Obviously, in this comparison the thief wins. At the expense of the conditions as a whole – necromancer can easily keep 15 bleeding and poison in ANY number of mobs in a huge(very-very huge) radius. Unfortunately ranger here not standing next too (

Ranger – is garbage. Dull, weak, lifeless. Can’t compete with anyone in any way. Everyone who refuses to admit it – well, their elbow. Everyone who understands it – I recommend to abandon the idea of playing it and not spoil your gaming experience. Eventually the game is great and there are 7 other wonderful and interesting classes. I think the game has a great future. Ranger some day will be fixed. Then it will be sense to play it.

Thank you very much!
@Sleepy 2 things:
1. not sure if serious, but there are players with 5+ professions at 80 with exotic gear.
2. also not sure if serious, but when you say that big flashy numbers aren’t “DPS” then what is? many classes can drop this “burst” damage more often that a ranger can deliver similar damage, even with pet. our single target damage usually doesn’t even amount to what other professions can dish out in an area.
1- I know there are players with plenty of level 80 chars fully geared, however if you read a few posts from that person you would realize that’s not one of them
2- DPS is damage per second, not big numbers…if you can’t compete with other classes DPS then you are doing something wrong.
It’s true that our only weakness is our AoE damage compared to certain classes but AoE usually is not that needed and when needed have barrage which does 10k+ (just to say a MINIMUM amount of damage because you can reach 10k pretty much without any crit) and piercing arrows which are great if you care enough about hitting at least 2 targets pretty much the whole time.
For PvE dungeons longbow/shortbow are a must have set up, if people doesn’t maximize their DPS it’s because they simply don’t want to.
Speaking “10k+ with barrage MINIMUM” – you quite brazenly lying. No matter. Look at the warrior’s rifle. A similar ability to cause the same damage but twice as fast (2.1/2 cast time). Warrior also have piercing shots. And making greater crits with greater speed (and greater chance), independent of the distance. Oh.. and causes bleeding from all sides.
(edited by MeGaZlo.9516)
@MeGaZlo, you are directly going to the ignore “troll” list, the true fantasy is you having all classes at 80 fully geared as you said
My statement is based on facts, if you can’t handle your pet don’t play ranger.
Yea. Your… Feeling that the pistol thief and SB ranger killing mobs with same speed – the only “fact” you disposes?
(edited by MeGaZlo.9516)
Oh… Here Sleepy from his world of fantasy. Eh… DPS mean Damage Per Second. No, seriously, maybe you already go and get another class to compare? Or even bothered to calculate the approximate DPS of your class. Or take any other weapon other than a short bow and see. Or u will continue to make statements based only on your personal sense of how fast you kill single mobs? Hundreds of people believe that the ranger’s DPS is garbage. And only you believe and try to proved without evidence that it is not. Is it tempting you to any conclusions?
The idea was. But in reality, it falls short on dps of any other class by 10 percent minimum. Considering the high chance of dying pet – you can take away from him about 20 percent more. It is sad that a support ranger (to put it mildly) not the best too. As, however, the tank. Therefore the significance of the ranger is generally quite uclear.
You can play just for the love to ranger class. Some find it fun. The strongest sides he has not.
well… to me, after playing ranger, any class seems varied and interesting and strong.
I do not understand. First, I waited about an hour, event in the city. Without any video, simply change the label in the quest, and opened the way to the island. There I joined the meta event, which ended with an attack on the karka camp and slaughter defender with little one. No any “special awards” I had noticed. Running there for about an hour, but nothing changed. No new event hase started… Did I miss something?
A boat appeared on the Dragonbrand OF but we didn’t get the cutscene or anything to fight the karka.
same. Waited in LA about an hour. Changed only the inscription in the quest. Nor any scenes.
I am running in LA for an hour like an idiot. Nothing happend, except for changing labels in the quest. Is this whole event?
Now I managed to loot 1 Karka Sample, cannot even turn it in. Probably not even getting bronze on the event.
For a good reward for event do not need to collect anything. Just kill.
Movie “drowned” in lag. Delays more 30 seconds on 50 m-bit … Aaaaand disconnect! What a good start! =3
Yes. Ye-e-e-s…. Rise up, my little rangers … Everything is fine… Everything is well… Take your swords… Hold your bows… Fight… Struggle… Hope… Resist…….
Die…..
Bring me your souls………..
At least it not become worse. =3
