If you really want to improve all the support component of the game take care about adding support for someone but warrior and guardian. Or it seems as though you’ve decided to concentrate all possable support within two most OP professions.

First about thiefs

  • add a normal (not 0.2 omg) modifier to Leeching Venoms.
  • make venomus aura stacks with leeching Venoms, so thiefs could heal allies such a fun way.
  • make Shadow Protection stacks with already existing regeneration
  • let Hiden Assassin to affect allies

That’s what engineers are REALY do not have enough – it is adequate condition removal. I know, it seems to be there. And when you read the trait, it’s even sounds good. But in fact, until throws all this bottles at your feet you will loose all your health.
So for engineers

  • let Cleaning Formula 409 remove 2 conditions, or convert 1 condition into boon.
  • add condition removing to some skills but elixirs. For example, let Fumigate to affect player too. Or Static Shield to transfer some conditions on enemy.
  • Super Elixir water field
  • upgrade elixir gun. Let tranquilizer darts heal players near enemy, mb?
  • make Med Kit skills explode on contact, affecting all allies around. Mb after choosing Packeget Stimulants.
  • spread rifle traits on different lines

Improving of staff looks promising for Elementalists. However, what is really needed is at least some significant damage in the water. At least some! Warriors and guard (well, who would have thought!) have good damage with good supporting at the same time. Elementalist must go deep into the arcane line to somehow get closer to it. From here one only build of 80% elements and one only tactic – frantically switch attunement and use best in slot skills. Not everybody likes it, you know.
So for eles

  • Normal damage in water.
  • Short aoe bleed to Stoning
  • moove Powerfull Aura into Arcane line. In master. In place of Arcane Resurrection, i think.

For Mesmers.

  • Let Restorative Illusions affect allies near purpose for which they explode. And near mesmer with Illusionary Persona.
  • May be Mender’s Purity affect allies?
  • Make Restorative Mantras prock on activation. Not on preparation. Reduce the amount healing but do so.
  • I would like to see more boon opportunities for better synergy with Signet of Inspiration. Mb more different boons on Winds of Chaos or might stacking on Spatial Surge?
  • Modify the illusions at last. Let them spawn from you at a maximum+minimum possable from the enemy raius if the enemy is not available for the attack. Within a certain maximum value, beyond which they can not be used at all on target at all. For example you use Illusionary Leap on target beyond 800. It jumps from you at 600 and trying reach the enemy.

Rangers have some support but don’t have any normal healing. And cond removal rather lame to. Healing Spring is good, but it force ranger to use it. Not because it’s too good. But because everything other is bad. In the previous balance patchyou were trying to spread stunbreaks and cond-removal between different skills. Apparently that hasn’t affect Rangers. Honestly, I have no idea how to make Ranger GOOD support without Healing Spring… But nonetheless

  • Add the cond-removal on any shout. Protect me for example. What ever the spirit (in addition to high-end). And more on pets.
  • Guard is useless yet again. It could be good if protection will apply on allies in zone guarded py pet.
  • Let Fortifying Bound work in both directions at last.
  • Beastmastery line still lame to. So improve “pet traits” at supporting direction.
  • Let Natural Healing work in both directions too. Mb even on allies.
  • M-H axe damage is pathetic. Increase it already pls.
  • Reduce Ramgade As One CD to 100 or better 60 sec. Stupid thing. At pvp more harm than good. Does not work when pet dies. Well… you understand. It is not worth such CD
  • Holy God, let signets give rangers FULL buff, not a half of it. PLEASE.

Fo the necromancer, at first glance, everything seems fine. But in fact, there are serious flaws in the mechanics. All are artfully brought together in the vampiric line.
  • Make Transfusion scale of heal power.
  • Make Vampiric Precision scale of heal power.
  • Make Vampiric Rituals scale of heal power.
  • Make Deathly Invigoration scale of heal power.
(omg, why the hell necro need heal power at all if it doesn’t affect anything?!)
  • Make trait so Vampiric Rituals and Precision will affect allies.

Guard

  • All is just perfect. Thank you. I love to walk in the dungeons with five guardians!

Warrior

  • Remove condition immunity. No matter how. From stances. From traits. From Cleansing Ire.
    JUST
    DO
    IT
  • Balance the damage. On sensations warrior is still ahead of any other class for 15-20% with GS or axes.
  • Make hamstring cast 3/4 sec. Too cool and animation hurts the eyes.

For #2,

The personal story was very challenging and had a ton of drama but I believe players complained it was too hard so Anet nerfed parts of it. This allowed more people to advance through the story, those same people probably played on their own and didn’t get help with their story since it was “personal” to them.

I’m talking more about the visual effect. When outside walls is the army, and the allies are dying with shouts of horror – that’s impressive. When outside the wall 2 handfuls of 5 risens, and they are exchange blows with your allies lazy 1 on 1, with a distance of 25 meters between each fighting groups – it looks bleak. Let the enemy army will be though 2D animated backdrop. So long as it makes an impression.

The only useful things which I got from 100500 quests which I completed is BL keys. I also found out that there is no unique skins.

Commander Armor is a unique skin you can only get through the personal story.

Commando. True. But it has PvP copy. U can’t get full set, as i remember. Anyway, if I’m not mistaken, from storie you can get one such thing only. Little similarity to a memorable award.

It seems to me you are skipping all cutscenes (or atleast not paying attention to them and then are complaining you don’t understand whats going on. Feedback is good, but unfunded and bad feedback is wrong. I have some criticism bout the story, but overall it is pretty good. Some choices they made wouldn’t be mine, but I understand them. It is also good that they are using the living story to test out new concepts.

I urge you to replay the story with a new character. Pick different options, watch the cutscenes and the dialogues. Then pick out one or two things you really find bad and take them on. You took a lot of time and effort in making this wall of text and I think your reall feedback is much much smaller and your making things bigger to prove a point. The end effect is that you are covering your true point in a bunch of vague and half true recommendations.

I really can’t find it.

Perhaps it’s better to read before criticize, though? In response you wrote a quarter of my text, so I think it would not be so difficult to you.

I’v done whole quest 4 times. I went through all the possible combinations of races and subject. Talked with all the NPCs. And I never skip cut scenes. So I know very well what I’m talking about.

Hi,

Your feedback is imo short sighted and most off all too long.
I’m not even bothered to reading it all So I react only to your summary

Then how do you know if you do not even read it?

Hi,

‘Orders quest chains are too short’ With a total of 4 introduction story steps, and then 15 storysteps the order arc gets much more attention then any other arc. Besides that the orders are not dead, you keep working with all the orders after retribution untill the very end.

8 only
Without introduction 8. I do not think that introdiction should be considered.

The rewards are awesome, unique skins. good balanced introduction of available elemtns (like a pie at level 34-ish to introduce foods).

The only useful things which I got from 100500 quests which I completed is BL keys. I also found out that there is no unique set given by the story. Pie? Are you kidding?

In many stories the allies can already solo the whole thing while you go akitten a corner.
But guess you want it even more easier and boring!

So let them balance it! Or, in your opinion, the only way to do something difficult, it is to cram a bunch of useless allied mobs?

‘Enemies appear from everywhere in absurd places from a puff of smoke’
I start to have the feeling you have been skipping cutscenes, its not jsut a puff of green smoke. it falls from the air,the green smoke is their corruption spreading. If you actually took time to watch cutscenes you would have known this.

They all can fly? The dragon throw them down? Why there is no dragons in 90% cases when they are occur? How can they land deep inside the cave, then? So nope. They just appear out of green/blue/black/etc smoke. Will appear right under your nose, if it’s more convenient for developers. In some places, it is atmospheric. But not constantly

I think it is you, who should repeat quest and watch carefully for all.

So far you create the impression of funboy that can not judge objectively. Or just a lover of oppositioning. You know, to deny the existing flaws, in fact, not a very good way to make the game better.
I think Personal Story has a lot things to aspire to yet.

The saddest sadness here is that a strong RP element WAS planned. But was not introduced. To be precise – has not been completed. 30 + promised minigames. The ability to use whatever comes to hand as a weapon. Changing aspects of the character etc. Feel sorrowfully when I imagine how it COULD be.

9. – The next problem . Very curves cut scenes. Seriously . When I was going through the story for the first time, I did not pay attention. But second, third … Here is a prime example. Steel Tide. Bernie “giving his life for us”. This process takes ~20 seconds . The first 5-7 seconds, the camera shows … ground. Then, abruptly, the ghost floats by. Bernie runs somewhere. And.. And shouts something incomprehensible. No subtitles for some reason. Cut scene ends. We kills the ghost. Deborah crying. She promises to take care of Bernie’s dog. But the interesting thing : Bernie is ALVIE, stands in front of her. You can even talk with him. He probably wonders why Deborah sobbing at his feet. You start to be embarrassed for the behavior of sister… I fully realized what happens only after a half minute.
Oh well. It’s more of a bug. There are rather many of them, by the way. For example in one of the quests are the same Deborah suddenly becomes a blonde with a completely different face. In the following she is she again.
Returning to the subject. It would be nice to modify many cut scenes. I swear if you wrote more unique animations, it would solve so many problems! And less of camera abrupt rotation! It is better to simply switch the camera angle
This new teaser video yet again demonstrates the excellent work cameras. Plus, shows us a lot of dramatic moments that would be nice to see in the game. =>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1bMmT2pKvA

10. – And finally, about rewards. This is ba-a-ad too. During the performing of personal story you just have to give people unique rewards. All there is at the moment – it’s the tone of useless junk. Beautiful unique skins, which cannot be obtained in another way, would radically change the situation. The change of scenery in the personal city dungeon or access to areas that are not available earlier – is not a bad idea.

10. b – And the last. Expendability. Why? It is understandable: why change anything if people will just complete it and soon forget about it? Why not just add the “remember how it was” button right at character window, and go to chosen story step after using it. Why not add some more arcade to game? Add the optional quests objectives for achieving, as it was in the first part missions? Make a history of repeatable, you know. Awards and titles. Story for impressions, you might say, not for awards. However, many do not want to go through it at all because of its futility. I think you need to focus on those players who are looking for the benefits of their actions, as well as on all others.

And so, what we have come in brief:

  • Orders quest chains are too short
  • No drama. Epic battles look dull and smeared
  • Enemies appear from everywhere in absurd places from a puff of smoke
  • Too weak allies and heroes. Spoil the impression dying from chicken’s fart.
  • Illogicality of stories. Unnatural, foolish actions and events. Allied armies flee from 3 mobs. The defense of the camp of the enemies that appear right inside. etc
  • Trumped-up drama. Detonators are constantly broken. Heroes like to blow themselves up on the spot and die there, where it is not necessary.
  • The personal story is cut off from the world. Run from one quest instance to another. Does not leave any consequences in the world upon completion.
  • No decorative quests. Without the genocide and murder. Showing some epic events. Tell the story of what is happening. Story cannot hold players in impression or stress. Monotonous.
  • Lame cut scenes. Sometimes can’t understand what you want to show at all.
  • No normal awards. Neither decorative. Neither interesting. Neither the titles. No special privileges.
  • Un-repeatability. The monstrous waste of potential.

In Conclusion I want to apologize for my bad english. I hope my feedback will not disappear without a trace.
And to give advice: if you want people to stop hating Trahearne, make sure that he did not open his soul at the end of each quest. It deprives him of the whole mystery, making a sentimental fool. It creates feeling that the quests are made not for our pesonal story, but to reveal next aspect of his character to us.

7. – We goes onward. The personal story is cut off from the world. This is a serious problem. You see, the very essence of the current story – it’s “run from quest instance 21 to quest instance 22”. Remember, at the beginning of norn personal story, you mast track down the Minotaur seeking their footsteps. Or talk to witnesses, representing the Order of Whispers in the human quest. Something like that is missing. Quests between instances. You might request to find some artifacts around the world. Talk to people. Perform some heart. Defeat metaboss.
To heighten the effect, that would not hurt to split quest in two. To get to the next step you will need to complete 2 different story instance.
This may also include the lack of influence of P-story on the world. When the story ends, it’s just… ends. Leaving no traces. Supposably, the personal story replaces the classic quests of ring games. Doing quests gives you access to repetitive tasks. Why not introduce something similar in GW2? Fulfillment order’s chains allows you to receive daily errands. Such as “protect point N from enemies in mini personal instance", “secretly sneak here …” “examine this tomb …” with some pleasant award and the ~five achiv points. Finished quest for the pact – get a daily quest to cleansing of Orr. Etc.

8. – Next. Almost no decorative quests. Which just transferring the experience. P-story poorly retains tension. You send here and there, without having to logically complete the story phase. For example, after creating the army of pact it would be most appropriate to add a quest where the pact comes to the war. Launched the first zeppelins. Marching army.

http://www.hostpic.org/images/1310091936040107.jpg

There are a lot of “unfinished” quests, which are expected to more. For example, a survey of the temple of Abaddon. Begins promisingly. You find a strange altar, activate it, defeat the guard. Good. Mysteriously. The door opens and … next the altar, the next guardian. Well, and there is … again the same. And in the end, we learn that… nothing. Just three Zhaitan’s lieutenants (it is unclear how they get there) revealed out and stole the artifact (wait.. wait… what artifact?), about which no one will remembers later (wait! Please! I want to know about this artif… ooow).
Last quest – source Orr – everything seems to be not bad. But, again, leaves much unsaid. Now you are fight with the Knights. Suddenly they let you pass. You kills the eye. Everything sparkles. Everyone is happy. Trahearne pours out his soul to you again. A little unclear. Epic nature is not sustained. And further: Go, he says, kill Zhaitan. Oh… Really? I must just go there and… kill dragon? Well, Ok. Mister Marshall! Bye! And it all ends by an epic failure. Ruins of Arah story mode. Start promising once again. However, the battle with the dragon: at first everything was cool. He appears, flies, breaks things. You think “well, now would be something epic.” On deck appears risens. From nowhere again. Okay… Risens in the sky. No matter. Kill the mobs. And now we will fight with… more monsters. And more. AND MORE. And the fireworks. And. Ouch. Dragon is dead. Wait… What?! X_X I want to cry. This time he did not even spawn snakes on deck. No need to say that the dungeon requires serious treatment.
But.. Just imagine for a moment if after the “Source of Orr” it has been quest to raise an army and to break through in Arah. And Zhaitan himself would meet us there, as it was in “our time is now” trailer. Doesn’t it will impress you? =>

Fort Trinity goes on war to Orr => http://www.hostpic.org/images/1310091904270099.jpg
In general give people an impressive quests where no need to kill 100500 mobs. Just take a look at what is happening.

4. – Another problem. Often allies are useless (by the way, is not only in a personal story). It seems to be the coolest officers and heroes are not able to do… no matter what. They either fall down over a second or do not any damage to enemies at all. If you really want to add them to quest – simply make them invulnerable, but let them not cause any damage to enemies. Or a better solution – make them better then mobs, but make mobs themselves a bit harder mobs and in high quantities. Let the heroes fight with multiple of them and kill them until you fight with the others. Let the fighting of heroes and monsters will be scripted rather than randomly.
I could bet there is not only one theme in this forum about Trahearne dies in battle with the one miserable monster.

5. – Next problem – it’s illogicality of some events. Forgive me for my further sarcasm and irony.
Example. Undead captured the fortress at the turn of the lion’s Arch. The city was attacked. Army of risen monsters is approaching to Lion’s Arch led by a strong lieutenant. And.. it’s a.. a-a-a… yet another bunch of dozen mobs running one after the other on one single tiny beach of the town?!
Or. City is captured. It is necessary to discourage it by destroying… a 3 packs of 5 mobs? Are you kidding me?! It is strange that the kids do not come out to play on the street.
You are carrying the sad news to the widow, and she runs away, shouting, “You killed my husband” right on the battlefield. You do not understand what’s going on, there’s some monsters. She runs. You kill monsters. Short conversation. She comes back. Quest complete.
You want to destroy the enemy fleet, which gathering corpses from sea. Enemy fleet – 2 tiny boats and a big one. You do not meet any resistance until you climb aboard. A pair of bombs – a powerful enemy’s fleet destroyed.
You meet a ship full of military tanks that cannot disembark because of 2 giants walking on the shore, which easily defeated by a few infantry.
The attack on the over-fortified fort Trinity. 10 risens crawled out of the water 10. Fall back! FALL BACK! Close the gate! Undead appeared right behind locked gates! There are three of them but we are afraid! Retreat. Retrea-a-at!

In general there is no point in continuing. I think these problems are also could be fixed cosmetically. Simply creating an effect of the battle all around you will add significanty to events. If the enemy fleet will be large and kept firing with our fleet … you get the idea.

6. – Next. Cheap, simulated drama. Seriously, friends, not so well! You start killing each little or less familiar character on every couple of quests. Moreover, often, for absurd reasons. When once again that does not work another detonator / smoke signal / Manual Focus / etc and he / she decide to explode himself with enemy – it’s becoming ridiculous. Often, it is not even required at all.
If in response to theirs “I’ll stay here to explode with the enemy,” you could have option to say “you lost your mind, fool. You coming with us, and we will kill them all without any bombs” – I would sincerely rejoiced. THIS would be a surprise, but not another “heroically” died character.
You look to the left – our troops are dying trying to hold the lines. You look to the right – giant breaks our tanks. Norn screaming about the legend runs into the thick of enemies, scattering risens on the way. After a few seconds of the fight he drowns in the ocean of the undeads. You hear the shouts of the officer, who gave the orders, which is suddenly cut off. You see how the soldiers dragged away into the sky by risen knights. The last line of defense swept away by upcoming abominations. Humans go into battle from which they will not return with cries of “For the Kryta” “For the queen.” People are in a panic, they call you, hope for your help. Here is a drama . So you feel the significance of what is happening, as well as your own meaning in the story.

Well… Not a whole. But the second half, at least.
First just want to say that this is not an angry topic with a bunch of whining on the universal injustice, with the prosecution of developers, Trahearne hateing, and exorbitant demands. I love this game and want to see how it gets better. I know as well that my words hardly will take any value. But I just want to give it attention.

Personal story claimed as one of the most innovative ideas in this game. However, from the beginning, because of lack of time apparently, it seemed a bit unfinished. When I’ve done it first time I got a lot of positive emotions. I expected that it will improve over time. But… It’s like as if personal story simply forgotten now.

1. – It’s not just about minor issues, bugs, etc. More… globally, I could say. To be honest, a little thing to complain about in the first half. Each race has a lot of history, options, branching. Everything looks decent. Some sadness begins during the attack on the headquarters of your order. Here’s the first discontent. Order of a very important thing, right? Why is part of the order in your story so short? Even a dozen quests will not be typed. I just do not have time to feel the some kind of participation. You have ben taken in order, you performed a couple of errands, got almost the highest rank after in and is going to investigate disturbing rumors about the undead allready. Too fleeting.
Yes, I know the guys from the your order will appears after. But no one will even remember in which order you are consists. I would like more quests related to the order. Maybe that choice of order influenced on the further quests.

2. – Second sadness begins around there, too. For some reason, the event loses its dramatically scale. I do not know. Strange. It should be. But still… The attack on the headquarters – a pair of tens of mobs. A couple dozen of your guys listlessly kicking against them…
No drama.
No screams of frightened in the spirit of “they came out of nowhere!” “they have no end!?”, “OMG what is going on”, “They broke through the defenses”, “Oh my God, they killed Leeroy!”. The funny (and not only in this quest), that you are often can easy vanquish your enemies, but your guys still retreating. I do not propose to make optional parameters of victory or defeat in the battle of the masses. I just want more atmospherics. If you want to create the impression that the enemy oppresses us, make a surprising number of dominant enemies. Let them kill allies by scripts. Make them even invincible. For example beyond shaky lines of defenders there is hold approaching army that whose line you can not cross. Or just very quickly die out there. Or even instantly. And the task loke "kill X enemies until they reached the main gate/camp/ fortifications.

You know what I mean? May enemy’s army will be at least 2D. The main thing here is impression. Something imposing. Significant. Dangerous. For now each major fight is few small packs of mobs appear out of nowhere, one after the other. That rather annoying than impressive.

3. – By the way. The third point. The appearance of the enemies from nowhere. It looks good in some places, but it’s EVERYWHERE. Green smoke, quiet puff, and viola! Pack of risen opposite you. Appears in the most inappropriate places. How can you fight the enemy that occurs anywhere from nowhere. What is the point to defend the camp? Why enemy appears exactly at the camps gates? Let them just come. Do the same 100500 enemies beyond the camp walls that will beat you if you come out and just let task “defended inside”. If you need them to appear right under your nose, make it so that dragon will spit them on you flying by. Or something like that.

There is an excellent example of the dramatic approach of the enemy in the new teaser.
Example => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1bMmT2pKvA
You see, the enemy is not so much. However, the sense of chaos happening around. The enemy is approaching inexorably. Slowly but surely. Artillery fire cannot hold them. Explosions. Fire everywhere. The camera snatches helicopter falling from the sky. If personal story will create same impression – it would be cooler at least 5 times.
http://www.hostpic.org/images/1310091858030107.png

There is similar problem is In the battle on the claw island (both battles). All stand here and there throughout whole fortress (what king of fortress is it, in which enemy could easily enter?!) and fight 1 on 1, 1 to 2, etc. But enemy just appears endlessly right inside fortress, and the allies just fall unconscious. It would be much more atmospheric if there will be an army from the walls far as the sea and a few mobs will broke through the defensive line inside the fortress from different gates. So, you will need to fight them off in different parts of the battlefield.

Honestly, the reason I don’t want mounts in this game is because I want Anet to fix some of the major glaring issues we have right now. Not to add more unnecessary content.

But of course seeing something on all caps with a slew of !!!! always makes a point that much more valid….

(oops my sarcasm meter just went though the roof)

Dude, that’s the most ridiculous reason which can be. In A-net dozens of different development teams. People who will do the textures and animations for mounts WILL NOT FIX BUGS AND ISSUES. It is not their jurisdiction. The team that fixes bugs will fix bugs. The team that makes mounts will do the mounts.
Do you think over two hundreds people will gather together and say, “hey, let’s spit on bugs and issues fixing and will all do mounts!”

Greatsword animation bugs

1 – (scr1) When running a glove on right hand heavily breaks. Strong clipping. It happens to many gloves, not medium armor only. I think it will be easier to fix animation itself than gloves separately.

2 – Animation synergy is broken. When you use any skill with GS in hand, the animation of ability does not plays, greatsword just dissapears from hands. Character mechanics of Scarlet

in Lore

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

Scarlet has been an opponent in the Shiverpeaks since release. For those familiar, we have battled her steam creatures in the eastern part of Lornar’s Pass since release. Moreover for the patrons of Hoelbrak we’ve played witness to the seemingly inane ramblings of a woman driven half-mad by Scarlet’s attacks since the beginning:
“Take heed, I haven’t taken leave of my senses. I’ve seen creatures of metal and steam.”
At this time I’d like to open this up to criticism. This appears to me to be a clear element of foreshadowing, however, if this is not associated with Scarlet, I would be happy to see evidence to the contrary.

TL;DR Scarlet is not an irrational character, nor is she ungrounded to the lore of the game before her formal introduction.

As I can remember, steam creatures – it’s just spawns of some alternate universe where everything is the same… well.. steamish. Their appearance more connected with the incident in a Taumanova reactor, rather than Scarlet. She is some kind of portal-mistress. Most likely she has tamed some of them penetrating into their home reality, rather than created.

Only lvl 80 in Group or leave....

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

MeGaZlo.9516

What’s the point? If you want to get a level, believe me, it will be faster to do it in the open world alone. If you want a challange – just gather a group of low-level players (thanks to the new LFG, it allows such things now). Write a proper note like "not 80lvl party " and it’s all. If I wanted challange – I would do just that.
But, believe me again, most of the low-level players don’t want to join such group too. Why? Just because they hope for train of 80 lvl players, which drag them around the dungeon on their backs. They clearly understands that they delays group. Understands that 80 and 40 is not the same, even with dawnscale. They do not care about the fact that they can cause wipes. That the group is losing a lot of time, etc. Why should I care about these players then? I want to have a good time, doing dungeon quickly and smoothly. For what purpose I will spend extra 10 minutes on a player who do not respect me and party members?

A group with 5 level 80’s compared with a group of 3 level 80’s a level 70 and a level 40, for example, will complete the dungeon in the exact same amount of time (assuming the players are of equal skill)

You all get scaled to the same level.

You all do similar amounts of damage (Assuming same gear type)

Just ignore the elitist level 80 only kitten and find some friendly normal players, Hell, iv seen more bad/useless level 80’s then I have lower levelled players.

#My little ranty over, I think as long as the player is at the level the content was designed for (AC explore, level 35, for example) there shouldn’t be any problem at all.

First, check it out. Dressed 80th player has nearly 20% advantage compared with 45lvl with dawnscale . Without taking in the calculation traits mechanics, and the fact that low-level players veeeeery rarely have best in slot equipment appropriate to their level.

In general, if you want train – show respect and make the appropriate notification in LFG. If you really need a Challenge – get the whole group of low-level and go ahead

Well, it’s not only about sitting on chairs. It’s a good eer.. elaboration makes world living. Attention to detail. Here’s an example: a carnival in DR. Do you see the carnival? I see a few people in festive hats and confetti. Dead Street. And so everywhere. You look to the left – the people are standing. Look to the right – the people are standing. Sometimes silence is broken by NPC dialogue (which can not but rejoice). Traders sold almost same stuff everywhere.

Now imagine if there were parades through the streets. Went carts, chariot. Merchants have lured you into their shops. Crafters would not stand like stone, but would tanned skin, forged weapons. Aides running around and fussing. Children play and pester you with requests to show them the beautiful sword. People would have pulled their hands, betting on auctions. Unique music in all the taverns. Vendors selling a variety of curiosities in different places. Such as rare wines in the DR. Cheese shops. Town clothing, armor, recipes, food. Now they are just standing in groups and trade, in fact, the same things. There would be achieves in the spirit of “try all types of smoked sausage in Tyria”. It would be possible to take part in the banquet. Play dice in thief guild. Catch a street robber. Play mini games (30 promised but so far only 3(!) implemented).

A lot of it is already there. But only so rarely and placed so little, almost imperceptibly. As If was done in hurry. Why can not they finish it?

Its understandable, in last balance patch you’ve decided to improve crying warriors. But have improved everything at once, it seems. Clearly you have gone a bit too far, making them almost immune to condition. Now I can easily kill 3-4 people at once by my cond war. Quite a cheaty, isn’kitten

I have several characters of the same profession but I stocked slots and infinite tools for possible 2-3 new races.

A great variety of races would be welcomed to GW2 because the animation are pretty much done and very few tweaks should be invented.
The skills for professions will remain the same while you can invent 2-3 special skills/ animation for them

It is not important if the new starter zones are far away from the current zones, you can add a temporary aura gate for traveling up until the zones in between will be opened

And did you thought about armor? They still can’t introduce cloaks because it’s buggy with charr’s tails. Now imagine 100500×2 armor skins….

I would just forgive them refer to more important things. However, over the year of game, we saw only a slight readjustment of the AC (bugs left), recycled tequila, loot from champions, badges bag and one big balance patch (many bugs have remained the same). Not very impressive. If they have tried, could do all this in month

Role-Playing and Interactivity

MeGaZlo.9516

One of the devs already commented awhile back on why we don’t have sitting animations.

For one, you have several distinct races, which presents problems when sitting. You’d have to animate everything from a tiny Asura to a huge Charr. And don’t forget the wide range of heights that you have to deal with.

Then you have the different types of sitting furniture. Bar stools, logs, chairs, e.t.c. You’d have to animate every single piece of furniture in the world.

Then you have to deal with clipping issues. Do we ignore them (and have people continue to complain about them) or do we just go forward and spend a ton of time towards fixing it?

All that time invested in fixing such a novelty feature is simply not worth it, especially when there are toher more important QOL fixes this game has.

Not to mention the RP community in GW2 is a very, very small minority.

This is logical, but the justification is quite cheap. Three of the five races are humanoids, using almost the same animation, which requires a minor calibration. Even in WoW (God forgive me for comparison) races is much more distinct, and devs gives much less attention to animations, and in spite of it all, everything worked out there. This fact makes feel slightly embarrassed for GW2.

Also, do not want to offend anyone, but I do not see any special patches which fixing bugs and issues that takes SO MUCH time and attention. So I don’t believe the excuses like “there are much more important things”.

Btw. Do not take the word “role-play” like something artsy and eccentric, in the spirit of the people playing the role of drunken elves, talking fancy language. Role-play – is a key aspect of any !role-playing! game (RPG (MMO!RPG!)). Player comes into the game, player runs the scenario, player explores, the player equips, player passes all, and… all. Player is bored. Player has nothing more to do. Because the world around him just scenery. Huge cities – are just a scene for a dozen “dialogue” NPCs with whom you can talk. No atmospherics. No “presence”. Player does not you feel like a part of the world. All around the perceived just in terms of mechanics, numbers and unfair RNG.

You can not make fun guild event in the spirit of “fill up to the bar and get drunk.” Or sit in a row on folding chairs and fishing on the canal bank. You can not participate in a bar fight. Watch the sunset while sitting campfires. Play cards with someone. Smoke hookah ala gotic. Imposingly ride around town on a horse posing by rare shining armor. And others joys like this.

One of the main reasons for the success of a good MMO – the possibility of an infinite amount of time to be engaged in nonsense. As long as the player feels that he is living in his beloved world – he’s soul will be within. Otherwise the game ends where it ends game’s progress or its meaning.

Reworking of immobilize

in Suggestions

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

The most overbugged and poor in appearance condition in the game – it’s immobilize. I would like the developers paid particular attention to it. It often happens that you get it in the jump and the camera starts to go crazy. Sometimes it’s bugged and not letting you do anything at all (better than any stun), sometimes you can turn on a dime, sometimes not, etc.
Plus, the visual effect is very annoying. Instead of huge chains on the body, clogging up all other effects, devs could done something to character’s feet, for example. Or bind animation to ability which apply it first.

P.S. In addition I would like to see this condition from mobs much less often (much MUCH less). Most of the mobs wich have it, have absolutley no synergy with it, just making it very annoying.

Since the developers are going to add stunbreak on launch, then it’s time to animate it already. Just agree: in a game with such a well-designed animations sometimes ironic to see how the character lies on the ground face down and suddenly instantly appears on his feet. It would be gorgeous if character deftly jumped to his feet, instead. Or landed/hamper, clinging to the earth if someone launch or knockback him.

Living story = players not returning?

in Living World

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

Sadly, but OP is right. I have a couple friends who did not want to return to the game because of Living Story too. One believes that developers spend excessive surprising number of resources to the content which most of players will not see, so that the game will not be successful. Another believes that there is no point in returning because he is already “missed everything.”

I like the idea of living Story. However, I must admit: it is good as long as you have time on it. Too much emphasis on the things that will disappear in a month. On the other hand, we can see that the most of bugs almost not fixed since the very start of the game, the old content is not completed yet, the most vaunted aspects of the game (personal story, events, etc) as if in beta stage. New players see exactly THIS, rather than “oh, the game is updated every two weeks for the next two weeks, cool!”.

If living Story would released along with major updates and well developed fixes – people’s attitude would be quite different. One of the things that I can not understand. A-net team of nearly 300 people. Around 20-40 working on living Story. SAB is generally even made by four. What are the others doing then?

True. Either people want to show off in some sort of “but I perfectly understand the chaos of dozens of absolutely same icons in my invenroty”/“dude, but don’t you know that there is a bags with rarity filter and collection slits in the bank” or, for some reason, are so die-hard that they consider the lack of so banal and important function as norm.

Seemingly banal things, such as the ability to sit on a chair, sit at a desk or on the bench. Eat a meal at the table, drink liquor mug with beautiful animation. Knocking hammer on the anvil. Prepare a meal, so that it will be visible that the character is cooks food. These “role-playing” things are extremely increase game’s atmosphere and sense of presence in the game. Game need a lot more objects to interact than it is has for now. Need animated craft. Special callouts for gestures and emotions in chat window or somewhere. So as not to write basic emotions but just click.. It would not hurt to correct emotions animation as well. Synergy with the weapon (it is either lost or unnaturally stick to hands. Looks ridiculous). Minigames (not pvp oriented, cuted off from the world. But like moa races). Etc.

A strong role-play element in role-playing games is very important. From personal experience, I see that the games which have such little things are live much longer than those, which have not.

The world lives as long as person feels like a part of it. You will never be able to make the world living, if the world is just a beautiful backdrop for battles with mobs. Think about it

Trivial colored frames in inventory and bank, which color corresponds to item rarity. The rarity of Item is visible directly on the icon, without the need to direct the mouse. Such a simple thing would have to be introduced since the very game’s start. Considering the rate at which all 160 inventory slots become clogged in average dungeon run, and conveyer frequency of items salvaging, I consider the fact that it’s not added yet just sinful. At least ridiculous. (Like the absence of “create all” button in MF, btw)

Twilight Arbor Perma Changes

MeGaZlo.9516

Greetings. Timid rumors (no spoilers and details) reveals promising yummyes.

They’re planning something radically new and different, that wanted to implement a long ago, but did not have time (ths to impatient producers, as u could guess). The new path will be full of different puzzles, alternative ways, hiden rooms and secrets, with chests at the end, ofc. Not without reason devs mentioned that there will be something to do even after killing the last boss.

As I understand, they’re going to redo all the dungeons in future. You must have noticed that present dungeons are full of empty places, some (such as AC) even have obvious unfinished puzzles. Chests and mobs planned to be there. So think about this like a first step to a readjustment in all dungeons, like Tequila is the first step to readjustment of all bosses.

I think this is a neat attempt to find out the opinion of the players and, after evaluation of feedbacks, they’ll decide is it worth it.

Scarlet is the BEST villain in GW2

People do not like Scarlet not because she is a weak villain but because she is a weak character. Every man to his own taste, I like to say, but it is believed that she is a kind of Mary Sue (absurdly cool character, which combines incongruous traits and abilities, unconsciously created by the author). It can be argued, howbeit… However her’s excessive infantilism coupled with a “super-abilities” brings her very close to the edge of “Sue.” These fun-crazy characters just teeming within some of imaginary universes, such as D&D for example. Personally I would not mind to have such one in GW. Perhaps this character will shows shows herself in a new unexpected way. But again, every man to his own taste…
