Hello , friends.
It suddenly occurred to me that PvE here is rather poorly motivated, basically. The result is that a lot of complaints about uselessness and boredom of completionist and statements in the spirit of " I login just to do my daily" . The developers have promised to add new skills and traits obtainable through exploration, but I think it’s still will not come to the extent of gw1 and will be very limited. So I paid attention to the implementation of various vertical progress in other games and came up with an option.

I started from the fact that we need a system that will simultaneously engage not only skill points, but the exploration aspect of the game itself too.

I came to the next idea (I’m not going to paint all the mechanics and mathematics in particular, I just want to convey the essence of the idea in general)


So imagine that we have a branch of PvE talents. To be not boring, let it has a few (2-3) of the basic directions. For example 1) explorer 2) adventurer 3) fighter.

First about the mechanics of improvement. In each direction, will be a unique talent tree. Each talent has several levels. And improved by inserting skill points. Number of relevant skill points will increase with every level of the talent and depend on the “coolness” and “seniority” of talent in general.

And now about the involvement of exploration. Assume that initially only basic talents will be available to improve. To gain access to senior talent we will need to complete an improvement of one or more of the younger ones. Then we will bet access to a certain set of quests in this direction. For example to find some number of secret places. Complete certain puzzles. Collect a set of objects in hidden chests in some area. Find and talk to the right NPCs. Perform certain events.
The goal will be visible to us through the window of talent. The higher the level of talent, the more difficult it will be to receive access to improve it. For example, to get access to the master fighter, you will need to find and kill a particular champion and get some trophie from it, then collect the items from the veterans of this type of creatures, find and show collected trophies to famous hunter and listen to his advice. Then, for example, destroy a certain boss, whom he directs.
In that spirit. Gain access, invest skill points, obtain benefit.


It is important that the branches were different, and their improvement has brought some benefit, but the MINOR benefit, but noticeable coupled.

Example. The branch of fighter will give us plus damage to veterans and less damage from them. Then it will be divided in subgroups by groups of existing int Tyria creatures. For example moa killer. After killing the moa we will get a buff of 1% movement speed to (stacking to 25-33%). Improved loot from the moa. More exp from moa. Chance to get a unique loot (for example – rare feathers which are more expensive than regular loot from them when selling to vendor). On the master tier increased damage on the moa champions and we will be able to get 2-3 karma for each dead moa. Each type of creatures will give a different effects. And talents will affect them in different ways. For example stacks of vitality from killing giants. -Cond duration stacks and -5% damage from aetherblades.
And so on.

Let branch of adventurer affects game events and awards from them. For example more karma and money from events. Buffs of damage reduction to friendly event NPCs. The increase of effectiveness against megabosses. Making a stacking boons from other branches not disappear when changing location\death.

A branch of the explorer will be responsible for improving the movement around the world. Improving loot from chests. The unique loot from It. Various strengthening dependent of areas. Reducing the price of WP. Increasing the speed of swimming on the surface of water. Buffs dependent of time of day. Reduces damage from falling. Affect the gathering and show chests on the map. Etc.


In general the idea is that it is a very slow and long-lasting progress. It’s influence is noticeable but does not break the game balance, not simplifying all too much. Minor improvements, like the one that WvW now has. Create a goal to be attained. Some kind of hoarding of minor reinforcements.
To create the effect of constant progress. In this case, progress will not only be gained through hoarding of skill points, but also exploring of the world.

Pickup and throw your pet owl at the target causing 1337 base damage and 3 second “wtf-was-that” daze.

Hurling a bird causes blind (feathers cloud on collision)
Hurling a feline causes bleed
Hurling a bear causes knockback
Hurling a pig causes fear
Hurling a devourer devours the target. rangeriwinolololol.

Can we have this?

*Hurling a bear causes death and causes hernia condition on ranger which can be removed only by special new NPC Surgeon for 15g or Backstreet Surgeon for 5g, but with a high chance to get death.

They should start these types of discussions for each profession, too. Obviously a big task (maybe tackle three at a time or something?), but there REALLY needs to be clearer communication in terms of profession balance / direction of development. A lot of players (including me) really don’t understand ArenaNet’s intentions or choices when it comes to certain professions, and it can be EXTREMELY frustrating to feel like we aren’t heard and long-standing issues aren’t addressed.

Here is a problem. Every adherent of any class think that he is unfairly hurted, over-nerfed and weak. Believes that all but he able to go dungeons solo and capture castles alone, but only HE should.
It’s a waste of time. There will be very few constructive suggestions.

The game has a lot of potential for RP. It is intended to be here. But it is not fully realized. All can be seen in small details. For example the system of personality. The problem in the process of realization. We have a service for changing hairstyles, right? Why not add a barbershops? We have city clothing. Why not add stores where it is sold. Why not add a city game events in which it can be received. Why not make a places where it will be needed. Something similar was in Lord of the Rings Online. In my opinion, if the developers have focused on finalizing of RP elements, everything can be finished in a couple of months.

Oh my God .. why almost no one remembers the roleplaying element? Without elaboration of RP – the game turns into nothing but grind (which, I want to note, everyone complains about) . Increased sense of presence . Increasing the “depth” of the world. More dialogues. Greater influence of personality on the game. Greater variety of merchants. More animation. More emotions . More PvE aimed minigames. Realisation of idea of ?a city clothing (not just “buy in -gem store”) More interaction with the surrounding objects. Implementation services of gem store in PvE (barbershops for example) . Game needs something that just takes time and gives cosmetic awards. The game has a huge potential in this area. If this aspect will not be developed, all become just “go there to farm it. Complete this to get that”. And a bunch of complaints on the forum that “no fun” and “you promised that the grind will not be”.

I’m not complaining. I actually have every possible profession 80 level (some in x2-3). My RL a whale at inventing of interesting builds and tests them. Every day we frolic at pvp and wvwvwvwvw and dungeons. In short, I am perfectly imagine the class balance. Advantages and disadvantages. I will not in particular. Well… Just sometimes it seems as if the developers themselves do not know exactly what are they balancing. If they were, in fact, not much (to put it mildly) often play their own game. In fact, the game mechanics invented so (I must give credit to the developers) that the total imbalance simply can not be. Out of any profession you can do something decent. However, many has so striking and unjustified difference in strengths, convenient and accessibility of various opportunities that you begin to wonder what the developers were thinking about at all?! Some striking inconsistencies are clearly seen after an hour in spvp for example. One profession draws on itself entire group in a dungeon by facerolling, in the same build killing 2-3 people in spvp solo and thrives in spve. When the other one is required to change the spec for every aspect of the game just to reach at least a third of similar effectiveness.

In general, I think they need more people to balance fixing team. Who will play the different classes (though an hour per day at spvp, wvw and pve).

Is this really what you want for us?

Sad, but true. I hope the developers will listen to it.
Since the release, as I was hoping the developers will focus on innovation things of this game. You know… like Improve personal story. The exploration aspects (new secrets, dialogues, puzzles, rewards), increasing the “depth” of the world. Will evolve the idea with personality (charisma, ferocity, nobility) of character. Improve the role-playing aspects. Add a variety of mini-games, events in the cities. Hidden in open world quests like in thaumanova. Will evolve the idea of karma, increasing its usefulness (not just reduce its flow). Thoughtful vertical progress, cycling skill points. Will finish the dungeons, adding more freedom, optionality, tactics and secrets.

Some of them are slowly being implemented. It’s nice. A new dungeon is good. Tequila is interesting (though needs the right scaling). But about the other things, the developers seem to have forgotten. They add a whole locations, in order to … just delete them! Where is the promised 30-36 mini-games? They make the lore aspect of the living world as a small scene instance, which you can get once per account! I do not understand this. Various characters, personal stories, different personalizations. Why once per account?! Maybe I want to try on the amplua of the scientist asura, and then norn warrior, and then human mage. And you deprive me this opportunity, tearing off the story from the world.

Developers add things (such as the pavilion) that logically should have stayed. But takes them away with no reason. Colossal waste of potential that can be used to something else. Why? To force the farm there things that will disappear with it and will no longer be available. Devs turn the game into grind. One-per-account things are killing the opportunity to gain something on twinks, killing the desire to create them, killing the different ways of personal stories, killing the very essence of the game.

Personally, I absolutley love this game. I can tell that I am fan boy. However, even to me it allready seems that the strategy of dev-s is aimed at gaining more profit from the gem store rather than on improving the game.

I’m so sad to admit, but most of that the developers added so far – is grind. More and more grind.

This is the wrong grind! How is it? – You might ask. The bottom line is that the whole process of getting this or that thing often comes down to the accumulation of gold. A massive amount of gold. Do not get me wrong. I do not mind grind. It should be in any MMO hame. BUT. Here’s compare: I can gladly spend a few evenings, collecting… donno… skulls(?) of enemies to make a handsome sword from them. However, as Zboss showed on example of halloween weapons – I just do not have time to collect skulls on reserved for this weeks. Their falls so much that they are completely worthless, and they did not earn. And they needed at SUCH Amount, that nor any wealth will be enough, even with regard to “skulls” cheapness. In other words, I just have to find the most profitable way to grind money and buy all I need, instead of directly collecting it.

One of the most terrible thing – it’s miniatures. You know, I have a friend. Just a couple of months ago, he said, “I love miniatures. Collectibles keeps me in this game.” Yesterday, he sold all that is possible, saying “they add so crazy number of miniatures that I did not have time to buy them”. In the first part you can find a miniatures by exploraion. For some quests. Dungeons. It was interesting to collect them. What do we see here? 99% of them just bought. And (it looks like a mockery) you have to buy some to 2 times to turn them into different one. NONE of minis is can be found in open world. The idea with the MF has failed because it is easier to buy the right than to get it randomly. And once again it came down to the accumulation of gold. Many hundreds of gold.
The game, in fact, does not allow normal farming gold in those quantities in which it should be spent on a variety of interestings. From here is born 2 options – donate, or (as is preferred by most) to leave the idea at all.

I want to believe that the developers are taking the right course. With this permanent content, bosses, dungeons. I do not lose hope to see an improvement of role-play elements, and the things that really.. well… fun. Which are forcing to be in the game because it is interesting. And not because require a crazy amounts of time to getting. But so far, I see overly much new grind.

I think mounts should be for looks only. It could cause more problems such as players beating players to bosses or mobs and killing them first out fo spite. For those of you who want a fast travel mount go buy a broom equip it then use a waypoint and there you have it a fast traveling mount.

Well, it can go both ways. some classes have a speed signet that can be used for this same reason. But I wouldn`t want what they have taken away. A mount having a swiftness just enables everyone to have an equipped boost for movement if they would want it. Please keep in mind that people can use already use existing speed buffs. Also keep in mind that mounts would have limitations. It couldn`t be used in combat and would no way take the place of skills like retreat that are instant cast buffs that can be used in combat and anywhere in game.

My ideas in case they have been overlooked again.

1. Mounts give permanent swiftness while active. Mounts will not increase the run speed when used with player buffs. Highest speed % will overwrite the others.

2. Mounts cannot be used in combat, you would need to dismount to fight.

3. A hidemounts toggle in the options so people who don`t like them won`t have to look at them.

4. Make the mount casting animation a two to three second cast so it could not be abused and only used for it`s intended purpose.

5. Add dungeon mounts that can be had for tokens, cultural mounts in home cities, mounts sold at vendors for gold, optional mounts in gemshop.

6. Mount race events simaler to guild rushes.

Could go on and on but a few of these suggestions provide a remedy to current complaints.

Still vote for mounts with ability. More space for opportunities. That’s interesting. Useful. More sense.
I wish that it did not arise out of the smoke directly under you, and had a nice animation when calling. It would be great if knockback threw you out of the saddle. It would look beautiful. Such an epic fall) But mounts in type of charr’s tanks were deprived of such a “vulnerability”.

In fact, you’re exaggerating. Most classes can heal like or even better than guardian. BUT! Just do not do it, considering that they deal damage better, for the reason that their support skills are not so… “on the surface” like guardian’s skills.

Anyone can tank. Believe me, even better, then guardian or warrior. Even the ranger can be more fat and be in evade more than half of battle. However, if you by tanking mean persistent standing in one place and sluggish pushing on some abilities, that it is another question.

Rox’s Quiver
I know that the problem with positioning is hard to correct. But this is a little too, I think. Quiver hovers in the air combined with almost all of armor. Even with the most wide, such as orrian. In my opinion it is better if it is a little “sink” in the character’s model, rather than hang in the quarter of a meter away from him.

Number of my characters reached 18. And it has become quite difficult to navigate. Could you add the ability to arrange them in the desired order? Not only in the order of last login. Wallet is good thing. But it would be nice if on click on this “plus sign” (you know what I’m talking about) we could choose which currency will be displayed in the list at the bottom of the inventory. To be able to constantly monitor the selected few (or even all) types of currencies without checking wallet each time. Cosmetic option. Nice. Convenient.

Seriously, it is extremely tedious to do hundreds of double clicks to open a jewelry boxes, drink karma, use essences, open bags and so on. Perhaps devs should add an options on right-click menues to “use all”? “Buy Maximum” for the merchants. Add opportunity in control options to binds this commands, for example shift + double-click – open/use/by/sale 10 items, ctrl + double-click – all possable (stack max)

I have already suggested this before, but still …
It is often necessary to salvage a large mumber of objects using kits of different quality. Many icons of weapons and armor same. I think that adding a color indicator, as a frame around the object with appropriate to it’s rarity color – a very necessary thing in this game.

You are pushing down possibly good suggestions with more mount threads.

Some of us think mounts are good suggestion. You don`t see me naysaying anything you support do you?

Emphasis on some. The majority of GW2 players could not give a toss about mounts or how other MMOs are somehow uber-amazing because they have sparkly flying unicorns for $18 each.

You speak on behalf of the Majority? In this topic, likely, there are fewer than even 30 different people. Dramatic part of majority does not come to the forum at all.

I stopped to write on this forum for a long time, because suggestions ??drowning in the streams troling and, sorry, stupidest comments in type of “your idea is kitten, because my idea in the next topic seems to me much better and it must be implement before yours, and devs should not waste time on yours”

Therefore it is better to end bickering about what topic has no place to be and to give more constructive comments. You do not want mounts – so describe why they should not be.

Mounts are a huge topic, the possibilities are endless when it comes to rarity, design and features. I think this would add a lot to the game even if it’s just one or two mounts per race for starters. Make them expensive, feature rich and good looking.

I want mounts so I can travel faster, waypoints are adequate and all, but they cost money and you just don’t see as much of this amazing in-game world. And yes I do want a speed boost that is more than 33%, more like 50%.

I want mounts so I can skip mobs in the open world, who cares about trash mobs anyway? They are often just placed in a annoying grid pattern that’s in my way.

I want mounts so I can show off how bad kitten I am. Award them as a special reward for achievements, money or just plain luck loot, hell I would even buy them for gems.

Suggestions for race specific mounts:
Human – Horse
Charr – Tank (some sort of machinery)
Asura – Motorbike (In a transforming golem style)
Sylvari – Oakhearts
Norn – Warg (Or a really big wolf)

I think Norns usually ride dolyaks =).
Asura rides on special golems. Devs tried to introduce it in game as an elite skill.
The problem with a speed boost of more than 33% – is jump puzzles. Too difficult and costly well be to restrict their movement on separate areas. And eliminate all vulnerabilities. So I think, a much more viable option would be 33% still. Practicality within reasonable bounds.

Although rainbow grove seemed to me too sugar. And with the re-design of cities do not agree too. Now everything is quite fine. Weather effects would be useful. The fact remains – on the list of improvements across the whole of the game mounts should be and probably are very low on the list if at all.

To not want introduction of interesting things in the hope that instead they will introduce something that may seem to you a bit better – is not the best argument too.

Instead of hoping for something, I’d better go on forum and ask devs to introduce mounts. I will not go into other’s suggestions topics to write there, “hey, dude. I do not want what you offer, because devs may spend time on it, instead of spending time on my offer.”

That`s ok, if you don`t want one. You don`t have to buy one. If you don’t want to see one , turn off the graphic! Stay in your little cube and use waypoints till your hearts content. But leave the rest of us the heck alone. That is the beauty of this whole conversation. Some of you just can`t grasp that though.

If you read the whole thread more people don’t want mounts outweighs the few who do so stay in your little cube but leave the rest of us the heck alone. Most people don’t want mount but you just can’t grasp that though.

Most of the people results absurd and self-deprecating arguments in this favor, again and again. In type of " to have mounts and WP at the same time" for some reason, “will be too OP”. Or " to have mounts will be too fun." People who are FOR mounts, in my opinion, results much more comprehensible arguments. Estimate it, not the number of people.
Oddly enough, but in forums (especially in suggestions themes) are extremely small percentage of the community. And many of the people sitting at the forum, in general, are just some kind of forum-warriors who would be opposite ANYTHING, for just to be able to argue with someone.

Ok here goes it. I am fine with mounts like what they have in the gem store or if they implemented something like they had in GW1. My problem is that the people that REALLY want mounts seem to have an all or nothing attitude. The fact that they want is SO bad seems to make them think that players that don’t want their vision should just deal with it.

Pretty simple question. The game – it the number of available options. If someone does not like something – he does not use it. He has the option – to use or not to use. It is unlikely that dev-s will force someone to use mounts. But if you like something and this is not exists – you have no options. This is not fair.

Another person who believes that developers are doing together, all as a single one, to do content. It will be ~5-10 people, who will create mounts. The rest will continue to do what they do. Maximum how it will affect the players – they will not receive regular suit in game shop, but will find mount there instead.

That`s ok, if you don`t want one. You don`t have to buy one. If you don’t want to see one , turn off the graphic! Stay in your little cube and use waypoints till your hearts content. But leave the rest of us the heck alone. That is the beauty of this whole conversation. Some of you just can`t grasp that though.

Most of the people results absurd and self-deprecating arguments in this favor, again and again. In type of " to have mounts and WP at the same time" for some reason, “will be too OP”. Or " to have mounts will be too fun." People who are FOR mounts, in my opinion, results much more comprehensible arguments. Estimate it, not the number of people.
Oddly enough, but in forums (especially in suggestions themes) are extremely small percentage of the community. And many of the people sitting at the forum, in general, are just some kind of forum-warriors who would be opposite ANYTHING, for just to be able to argue with someone.

I try to explain again. The option means that you can turn off the name of clones and keep on the name of the mesmer. This also means that you can recognize the real mesmer. So you atre destroying a whole class with a luxurious rubbish option.

Em… O_o I have already explained that even now mesmer’s names are identical to the names of clones, and use their (player’s) settings. I do not know how else to explain it.
Let’s say your enemy’s name is Mr. Mesmer. He uses mirror blade. You receive the exact same guy with the same name – Mr. Mesmer. If you turn off the display of players names – both will turned off. If he cast phantasmal berserker – appears transparent pink guy named phantazmal berserker. How could u take translucent pink guy for real mesmer? With name or not.

Your question has ALREADY been resolved.
So… It will be exactly the same.

Also, do you think that the developers will not provide such thing?

Furthermore, It is very difficult to confuse mesmer and his clones. Especially by nicknames on which no1 really looking at.. It is difficult to name This “tactic”.

Let’s be logical. In any game mounts will not be superfluous. Another thing is that the game is not very suitable for mounts. Not vice versa. You can not add mounts here with huge speed gain. it may ruin some aspects of the game. Customize these aspects under such innovation – is too time-consuming.
Another thing is that if we introduce mounts as the usual decorative bauble – very few people will want to buy it themselves. Trust me on a word. Therefore it’s not worth to be introduced.
Hence there are 3 options:
1) There should be a regular speed buff, but not more than the maximum possible. 25-33%. It will relieve some of the classes of seting special skills to move faster. Hence it makes a decorative element to raise the quality of the game. Many people will buy it for the sake of convenience. Moreover, it would not affect nor of any game aspects.
2) Mounts should have unique skills, and be like the transformation of the tonics. This will create a kind of mini-game and adds a bit of variation and ma-a-agic (In terms of fun). Allowing to feel yourself like cavalry soldier or a rider of multi-ton dolyak. People will want to buy it for fun.
3) Both. The best option.

However, to avoid any inconsistencies – should prohibit their use in all aspects of the current pvp (except specially designed).

However, I would not want them to just sold for gems. It spoils “sense of immersion”. Cutting them from the world, by bringing the whole process of getting to the grind of money (of which there more then enough) A collection of mounts will be much more valuable then collection of pets. Wherefore devs should introduce different methods for their preparation. Drop, exploration, pvp rewards, etc.

I made a comment in this thread that covers pretty much everything. But we do have a huge gameworld that is perfect for mounts. I can`t think of any other game of this size that doesn`t have them. Whenever you have a massive world like this, developers usually add in various ways to travel and we got just waypoints. Sure, if you are in a rush a waypoint is great. I am grateful they are there but I`d rather use something else if it was available, something I liked. Go look a few posts up at the rundown I wrote for them on acquiring them. That is pretty fair for anyone.

Arenanet would also make a fortune on the gemshop versions. Nearly every game that has mounts in it that you can buy from a vendor also has some from a gem or cash shop. And the majority of mounts you see people using are the cash shop ones. It`s just good business to provide products your customers ask for and sooner or later it`s gonna happen. Whether it be now or in a few years, it will happen.

I like the idea of the mount skills you mentioned. Though I do think they should be used just for what they are. If we wanted to keep combat off of mounts they really shouldn`t get any skills. But a racetrack or mounted events would be something cool. They have the guild rushes and could make a mounted rush open to the public as a world event that is timed. People love the little things like that and would show up in droves.

Why not? GW2 is unordinary game . So it shouldn’t be ordinary mounts . Also, I know the games where mount’s skills are good implemented ( Allods Online, for example). Take a look from the corner of the developers: if you add to the game mounts that are needed just for beauty, many players simply will not buy them. Now we have, for example, minis. They exist only for beauty. How often do you see players actualy using them? I saw 4-5 during whole year, and they’ve just stood in the city. Developers will not spend time on potentially unclaimed items. On the other hand the unique skills of mounts – increase of atmospheric and make them a practical thing. It’s just funny, after all. Anyone want to ride and chop mobs sitting on a horse. And, generally speaking, no1 cares about how you killing mobs in open world PvE. In any case, I doubt that it will be OP. New animations, models and skills (the same tonics for example), developers added regularly. This implementation of mounts will be quite simple in execution.

Personally, I believe that simply decorative increase 25-33% of speed, which also lost at each stroke of mobs (and here it quite difficult to avoid) – pretty boring addition to THIS game.

On the theme of horses – I found a couple more artworks. Beautiful. Me want.

Ok in thatcase I oppose you suggestion. The simple reason that clones go off like players is that mesmers use clones to hide their own identity. You would ruin the mesmer in pvp/wvw

Since you dont give a good solution to that your whole idea is bad for the game.

Pfff… What a obstinacy… The names of enemy mesmer’s clones are absolutely identical to names of mesmers themselfs and submit to their settings. This option
will
not
affect
them AT ALL. And… to be opposed new options(!) (I remind: option – is the sort of thing that can be turned on and off as you wish (and is designed to expand the usability and customization of the interface, making the game more convenient)) – is at least ridiculous, and… well… strange

At risk of seem shortsighted fun boy: I like the GW current version much more. Presented option, of course, much more rich in customization. However, I am familiar with such editors. There are TOO much of settings, on creation of a character you spend more than hour. And all the while not pleased with the result. GW satisfies me completely in this regard.

Gem Store Race Change

Hello.
The problem with personal story is much wider than you think. The choices are not parallel. Even character’s aspects before the creation are not always similar. Many people are interested in the personal story and the addition of a race change would be wrong in this case. I advise you to just reflect on the fact that you can create 80lvl character for a couple of hours using craft. And get equip from BLTC. Spending a 20-30g for total. Surely a race change service would more expensive.

Besides magic find is account bound and not reset after any character delete.

I think mounts would be okay if they were temporary and only limited to the area you are in. There’d be vendors located near the entrances to the area and essentially, you’re allowed to pick a mount of your choice to ride around. You can’t keep the mount and travel to another map or region, otherwise it disappears. It could be free or bought for a small fee, and maybe provide a 10% speed boost at most. If you’re hit and enter combat, your mount kicks you off and runs away.

Some of you guys come up with some of the most WTF were you thinking ideas. That`s like saying, you can drive your car, but only in the driveway. And only in reverse!

Why does there have to be a limitation on something that should be fun or enjoyable? It`s like people always think that in order to have something good or fun you have to take something away first. I my previous comments I detailed plenty of ways that could be added and used that would pretty much make everyone happy. There really isn`t a need to limit it even more then it would be if implemented.

Hide pet names option – is an option which allows you to hide pet names. Enough information?

I think wolf means is why you would want that option? I assume you are not simply asking the devs to invest time and money in making such an option as a novelty??

Also have do you want this as an option that the owner of the pets has for his pets? or an option someone else has to disable the names of other peoples pets?

What bout the consequences of mesmer clones in PvP and WvW? wouldn’t that put a bomb under one of the main startegy’s a mesmer in pvp/wvw has? Cause the strenght of a mesmer is to get your enemy’s to kill the clones instead of you?? your option would put a bomb under that? how would you solve that problem in your suggestion?

It’s a banal and basic option that should(!) be since the beginning. So that there was no text names on screen but target name. The absence of such options – is an essential drawback. The process of its introduction is elementary.
For reference: the developers did not invest money in the elimination of deficiencies. They get paid wage like all others for an hour / day / month of work. And eliminate of defects – it’s their job. This happens not so: “hey, dude, go do some work on the bugs, and I’ll give you the money.”

They can add several options. Expand the whole names options system. I think it’s <10 minutes of work with code.

About clones and PvP. Well, it’s an OPTION, so if you don’t need it – do not use it. And I want to fix: now phantasms nicks fully comply to player’s and turns off along with it. Even illusions, despite the fact that they are transparent.

Playing support is not only about skills and traits, but also about weapons as well. I feel that Rangers still suffer from low number of meaningful finishers, such as blasts. Though I do understand reasoning of those who claim that blast finisher on Maul could be OP. Nevertheless, lack of those finishers is something that hampers viability of our class in some aspects of the game.

All in all, as much as I’m happy with the attention being given to support-based playstyles, I’m worried that Rangers may get the short end of the stick again, simply because how the class has been designed so far. We don’t have too many tools, and most of those we do have require much more than simple buffs.

Why. Guardians have blast each 4 sec. And could stack endless protection and retaliation to themselfs and allies. Why couldn’t rangers have something like this but with water fields? Given the fact that the support skills on ranger’s weapons are almost absent.
