At first, would like to say that the topic is not about the dominance of BBRangers. Slightly different problem… eeer… annoying me. Well, how often do you see situation of such kind=> just imagine: you just (donno) hanging around in relaxed mode, doing anything interesting, mb even grind something, kicking mob and…. then some ranger rushes past you and PEW! Mob ten feet away from you.. You at this time just started pistol whip cast\handred blades\set a symbol or aoe pool, you know… Mob begins to rush around trying to run for ranger’s pet or like. A couple of mobs later the same thing happens. And once more, and more. And then you suddenly notice – hey, it’s an another ranger at all!! O_o
The strangest thing – this is happens regularly in different locations. I feel like LB rangers consider it their sacred duty to knock out the mobs of people’s melee range… Is it some kind of joke? Some kind of an obsession? Sometimes it seems to me that the rangers pursue me…

Well… Suddenly wanted to share. Do all have a such… feeling or is it just me?

Beautiful scenery just make things better. Creates an impression. Encourages. Many locations have a kind of gaps, in which juicy background will look for 5+. Especially felt in the uplands. Here’s an examples of some decorations:

Well… Dragons, actually, behave too aggressively for the kind of “saviors” who “just do not care” about the younger races. They are quite purposefully destroying anyone they can get. The impression that their primary purpose is to kill everyone, and only Then absorb the magic.

No offense to you. Feel free to play ow you want to play.
But personally, I dislike rangers who use Longbow and stand as far as its possible from the mob/boss not giving anyone anything – boons, buffs, etc.
I rather have full zerk GS warrior with 5 signets.

Well… yeah. This topic is just about that. The overwhelming majority would prefer a GS warrior, even if the player instead of which they prefer this warrior, is simply better. This is a narrow-mindedness coupled with wretchedness of dungeons. Players simply have forgotten how to think “outside the box”. Or rather, outside the corner

So “Hiden thief” (Shadow Arts VIII) don’t work with “Mug” (Deadly Arts III). Stealth from “Hiden thief” instantly interrups by damage of “Mug”. Just wondering: is it a bug or a feature?

The fact that the hearts is a tool for “acclimatization” of new players is understandable. However, why do not they have a place to be? This is quite unusual, interesting, new. It’s good idea. It can be Improved. Redesigned. Anything is better than just to push it away. I’m more impressed by the original concept of completionist than permanent opportunities to farm something.
Actually there is no completion tracker at all. It’s sad. I hope the situation will change in future patches.
By the way, nobody miss the animated dialogues?

Because Hearts are there so that people know where to go and what to do (they were not supposed to be in the game at all from the start) and as such putting them in lvl 80 areas doesn’t make much sense, since people should know what to do at that point.

Do you think that dozens of people loitering around and standing afk while reading wikipedia – it’s better?
If we disclose the question, people who do not know what to do – this is exactly the problem that, according to the developers, they do not know how to fight. To solve it added timers for bosses, LS pointers (aka heralds), letters showing where to go, a wealth of information on the site etc. Is it reasonable to refuse one of the best tools to deal with this “disorientation” which game has?

Just caught myself thinking that with all the detail and thoughtfulness of a new zone, something is missing. None of the atmosphere and experience of “completion”. I think everyone who cries about the need for full addon want exactly this. Why not use the renown hearts? It’s a great idea. There is no some global goalas like it was in the beginning. Maybe new completionist for season 2? Just do not understand why the developers refuse interesting ideas that were announced even before the release. For example, where is these animated conversations, like in personal story. I think they would be very welcome.

People have complained / are complaining that some of the npcs have too many tabs to dig through to find what they are after. Anet is ‘clearing out’ unpopular or low selling (theoretically, don’t know for sure) items to reuse those tabs for new lines. Its the same concept.

I doubt it. They can not do the “create all” button to MF or “use all” option at inventory, but when it comes to deleting anything they right there. Really. After all, it is much more important functionally option – people are always lost in these tabs, right? It became just impossible to play…

First, there is nothing saying that these will never be back. Of course, conversely there is nothing saying they will either, but if we’ve seen anything from Anet, it is their use of repetition. I do believe that these would come back eventually, though perhaps in a more guaranteed manner of purchase. Which, I know some would prefer. I wouldn’t be surprised if the winter’s weapons started returning as an annual thing as part of wintersday (which was how they started).

Second, all merchants have ‘clearance’ sales where they simply prune their selections. That’s all this is. They are ‘phasing out’ old merchandise that isn’t selling or isn’t popular enough, and making room for new stuff. It’s really not like this is some unheard of, underhanded tactic. We experience it every day in the real world.

This is not a real world, m8. They have already removed the tone of things that did not return after. They just do not care, i think. I rather believe that they do it because they have no desire to bother putting one more merchant in each capital.

I realize this is not ‘real world,’ it is a game. All games have features that are modeled after real world concepts, whether we like them or not.

My point, however, was simply that this is not some unheard of backhanded tactic. (Since people were carrying on like this was some new, unheard of thing) Retailers do it every day. For whatever reason(s), they have opted to copy this model. If these skins are not popular, and are not being purchased, I can understand this choice. Additionally, by removing them – ie, making them ‘limited time’ once again, it increases the player’s desire to obtain them which, yes, generates more revenue for the company in the form of additional sales. This isn’t new. Nor has it ever been an unacceptable practice in retail. This feature in the game just adds a touch more depth and realism to it. To make players realize ‘well kitten, it’s not going to be there for ever and ever’ and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Could they potentially never return? Sadly, yes. That is always a risk we run. However, people believed that fused and jade weapons would never return either, and they did. We simply don’t know, and can’t know one way or the other, because we can’t see the future.

People use argument “like in the real world” in the same circumstances. But it, all the same, is a game. The game which, btw, we had already bought. You can not build the whole economy of b2p game on the principles designed only to sell as much as possible to players. Need to comply with reasonable limits. In my opinion, this game has passed them.

I’m getting tired of this game. All what I’m doing there – it’s trying to save money in time to buy something that will soon be removed from the game. And hastily make achievements until they decided to remove too. It no longer brings pleasure. A game in which nothing is permanent. Everything is not for sure.

Do you even want a scelerite skin?

I want ALL skins. That’s the problem. This is my “style” of play. And the game (would seem to be) designet precisely betting on this, with all of these collection cells, minis, wardrobe, not necessary equipment grind etc.
Collect until you get tired…
However, developers are constantly rushed. Collect all is simply impossible. Need huge infusion of money (unaffordable for me (and I, let’s say so, pay much MUCH more than the cost of subscription in most games).
When you realize that developers destroy something that you aspire to, the game dramatically ceases to give pleasure. And this happens in GW2 almost every month.

Did you play guild wars 1? So, what you want is to eventually get all the skins, but you can’t afford to? How do you plan to get every skin in the game without spending a lot of gold?

I did.
The fundamental difference was that there was no time limits. Therefore, in order to afford anything, you just had to collect and/or accumulate something on it. When and on what you spent money your decide yourself. This game puts a unclear time frames on too many things at once. Collect the money on everything is just impossible (trust me, at the time I sold dozens of legendarys) When you spend hundreds of dollars a month on the game, the question is not whether you CAN afford but is it really needed to you? I see very little of the game. Basically I just spend money.

I wonder why they post this on Facebook on Friday and no where else…. are they trying to hide the fact that they’re removing these skins from the Black Lion trader?

Meanwhile those few that like the weapons are scrambling to try and get them and the people with money are buying all of them and raising the price to ungodly amounts

They were cost 150-250g each even b4. What could be more expensive? And there are actually 16 of them… Whom are they trying to stimulate on the purchase? Children of oligarchs?

My main disappointment in LS is that all of the content that it “adds”, just disappears after. Why developers can not just leave it be? What’s the problem? What kind of unspoken taboo? Half year has passed, and the much-vaunted LS, by and large, left behind nothing. “The Changing World”. Where? A pile of debris in Kessex? Or
plugged hole in the divinity’s reach? Pfff
Add new content. The larger the game – the better. I, personally, do not understand the purpose of temporary restrictions. While all this already discussed a hundred times.

Dignity, ferocity, charm still present in the dialogues, but personalization is gone out of the window of the character. This is one of those things that was good just because it is. I would like to know why it was removed? Perhaps it is not even removed, just the developers forgot to add it to the new character window or smth….

The Arah part of the PS is not bad actually and if you follow the story, you will understand the battle is played out the way it is.

The only Dragon we fight is Tequatl, all the others are servants or lower dragons.

It would seem not a significant problem, but it falls with black blot of disgrace on the whole game. Wherever I see any information about the game, I find comments like “battle with Zhaitan such miserable”, “battle with the final boss – just one button mini-game”, “final boss is terribly designet” etc.. Rating, I believe, dramatically lowered. I would not want to developers simply forgot about it. But worse than that, as far as I noticed, a fight with Zhaitan was only simplified (now he does not even spawns snakes on deck). Do you plan to do something about it, dear A-net?

Hey. So there is 2 different slots in wardrobe for Christmas backs – “toymaker’s bag” ( http://puu.sh/8iHKq.jpg ) and “lined toymaker’s bag” ( http://puu.sh/8iHLy.jpg ). I participated in both events and there was 3 same “toymaker’s bags” in my bank (http://puu.sh/8iHN8.jpg), but after unlocking skins, only one “lined” wardrobe slot was occupied. So the 2 questions: where is the second skin, called just “toymaker’s bag” and why is unlocked with the “toymaker’s bag” skin is called “lined”?

Made it. After Elrey’s post, I thought: maybe developers mess up something with the latest patch, correcting getting achievements through the death on the boss. Therefore, in the second phase, I caught a few blows of blue hologram. Rox revived me, then as usual – and voila! Achievement is mine. I recommend to try this option.

I did get it 30m ago, i was hit by a blue holo area, got downed, even killed… but i never got damaged by either Lasers or the big circular area in melee range of her.

And what about the fields of micro-holograms on the ultraviolet phase?

Did you ever get dazed?

Thats a tell-tale sign of getting hit by the scorch mark.

You obviously already know that the animation is bugged and disappear before the damage hitbox.

I’ve also heard of people losing the achievement by getting downed (even when not getting hit by the laser/mark).

No, there was no daze. Did not fall downed state. Knockback only on 3-4 thousand damage. It is not noted in the combat log at all.

Ok. So. I did this event 10+ times. Monitors combat log like paranoid Monitors. During the fight I never got hig of any telegraph. The only damage that I got – it ticks for 3k+ with knockback, arriving (literally) out of nowhere, which is not shown in the log at all. I waited for 3 seconds after laser trail disappears. Did not get damage even from ultraviolet hologram blows. I repeated it all perfectly at least 5 times already. I have tons of screenshots of combat log.
Question: where is achievement?
It seems the only who got it – it’s leechers before the patch? No one can answer works it or not.
Tell me at least: what am I doing wrong? Maybe I should just stand afk there?

The evidence is that it is Ascended tier. All Ascended tier items have infusion slots, including Legendaries after having been upgraded to Ascended.

Well, new versions of the armor codes have already been found. And there is no Infuzion slots on them. Nor any information about the fact that armor could be improved.

Hmm…well, Dynamic Events aren’t hearts. Gems are gems. /shrug Not sure what hearts in SouthSun have to do with anything I said, or how adding hearts to SouthSun would be considered ‘adding new locations’.

Though, I’m sure your suggestions will be considered carefully. =)

I don’t hate temporary content, it’s better than a 30 GB game full of content but people only do 1/3 of it.

And why is it actually better? If you want to get or do something in a constant content – you just go and do it. If you want to do or get something in GW2, it’s quite possible that it’s… oh… no longer exists.

If a newbie comes into game, friends tell him how much new is added, what he can do. When a newbie comes into GW2, friends tell him how much he missed allready and will never see.
Many players ragequit GW2, just because they have no time to do temporary things in timeframes and feel that they missed game process.
So what’s good about it?

You talk as if this game didn’t have permanent content at all.

If someone joins today they won’t get to enjoy old living world content updates, but they still can experience the current and future content, plus some changes end up leaving permanent features, like the revamped Tequatl, TA aether path and the addition of Southsun.

I find temporary content to be good way to prevent a flood of new content leaving previous content obsolete, while still leaving some permanent additions from time to time.

As for “Many players ragequit GW2” it would be good if we all could refrain from pretending to be the voice of the community, whatever we say is not the opinion of “many”, speak only for yourself.

If people don’t like how this game is being designed there are many other MMOs out there that might fit them better, our devs are not forcing anyone to agree with their development / design choices.

You could just read this topic and many things would become clear.

You know, some people remark on how so many zones in the game are ghost-towns. Permanent zones. I wonder how much adding more permanent content will alleviate these concerns. Just something to consider.

Much more often I see people complaints about dev’s focus on the zerg content, huge crowds of players marching on the low-lvl locations and
and requests to remove champ-train.

You just forgot. "We will not have hundreds of quests that you’ll have to seek and read " they said, “instead, the system of influence and dynamic events”

We already get gems for play, so there is that one. =)

Something like 800 gems per year of playing? I spend 4000+ per month. I’m talking about more “frequent” awards.

I don’t think leaving everything we have done in-game would be a good idea. Helping the displaced NPCs forever in Wayfarer, etc. and having them be simultaneously found in SouthSun might be kind of confusing, for example.

What has been done will not come back. However, the hearts can be quite easily fit in southsun. It requires a minimum of writing talents. In the future, dev-s should focus on adding new locations and not clogging the existing by temporary content.

Can you provide any source where such thing was “revealed”?

I don’t hate temporary content, it’s better than a 30 GB game full of content but people only do 1/3 of it.

And why is it actually better? If you want to get or do something in a constant content – you just go and do it. If you want to do or get something in GW2, it’s quite possible that it’s… oh… no longer exists.
If a newbie comes into game, friends tell him how much new is added, what he can do. When a newbie comes into GW2, friends tell him how much he missed allready and will never see.
Many players ragequit GW2, just because they have no time to do temporary things in timeframes and feel that they missed game process.
So what’s good about it?

Hello everyone. I want to know your opinion about what would make the game better (and there is just not that many people =P). What do you miss? What would you like to add? What would you like to improve. Here’s my list of what occurred:

Development of ideas that were originally advertised as the main features of the game:

  • Continued development and refinement of personal story
  • More exploration
  • New areas full of hearts and interesting for rexploring
  • Possible new hearts on existing areas
  • Development and refinement of underwater combat.

Improving capitals. They are too beautiful and elaborated to be a waste of resources:

  • Events in capitals
  • Daily in capitals
  • More dialogues
  • More exploring ther and awards for it
  • More town clothing, obtained through research, rather than store
  • More demand for town clothing (for example to get into special closed areas in capitals)
  • Greater variety of merchants in cities (not standard)
  • More PvE oriented minigames

Refinement of dungeons

  • More tactics
  • More aimed at skill achievements
  • Less of 1shot mechanics
  • Guaranteed good loot from bosses and at the end
  • Calculation system for amount of killed mobs and rewarding for it
  • Time-completing system

Redesigh of Champions+. Now they are just 1-shoting HP sponges. Nothing about tactics and interest.

  • Redesign (or even delete) of unshakable system
  • Blindness working on champions and legendary.
  • More tactics and phases in combat (like a hybrid)
  • Better scaling

Redesign of the world bosses. Like tequila.

  • Serious revision of scaling
  • Special badges from bosses, for which a special loot can be bought
  • Timers in the interface, visible for all

Various interface improvements:

  • The “create all” button in mystic forge
  • Bookmark with known recipes in MF
  • Adding of tracked currency at the bottom of inventory
  • Buttons and binds to “sell /buy/use/open” all/n-number from merchants or invenroty items
  • Bug fixes for BLTC
  • Advanced interface options for preview items from the store
  • More filters in BLTC (for back items, armor tipes)
  • Option to hide pet nameplates
  • First-person camera

More guild content (an hour a week is very small)

  • As an option – removal of CD for missions
  • More awards for commendations
  • Guilds Alliances
  • Guild halls
  • More unobtrusive dungeons (like puzzles but longer) for guilds
  • Global goal for the guild (donno yet)

More developed economy:

  • Greater influx of gold (especially for events and exploration)
  • Other ways to obtaining laurels
  • More opportunities to exchange currencies at each other
  • More options for their waste
  • Gems received for gameplay
  • More pets, skins and other costume jewelry obtained through gameplay
  • Remaking of transmutation stones at each other

Development roleplay elements:

  • Greater impact ot the character’s atributes on gameplay
  • More options for interaction with the world
  • More development of emotions
  • Special window with emotions
  • More interactivity
  • The opportunity to sit on the chairs, etc
  • More animated actions (eating, drinking, speaking etc)

Design of unlocks system:

  • Decorative and rare items activated on the account and can be received from special window at any time.
  • Character progress system after the maximum level (like the WvW ranks) in pve

More love to craft:

  • More achievements
  • Tracing of unknown recipes
  • Less of temporary recipes
  • Fishing
  • Craft of cloaks
  • Craft of underwater masks

Different pleasant joys:

  • Battle mounts (battle exactrly, like tonics but mounts (withoug speed boosts more then 33%, can be used on underwater, open pve, etc)
  • Cloaks

Refinement some animation and visual effects:

  • More thorough animation bug fixes
  • More design for immobilization (a lot of bugs and annoying animation)
  • Redesign of signets animation (game with pretensions to seriousness can not afford symbolic icons to arise over character’s heads)
  • Redesign of poison animation (I hate to be green. It’s so corny that even dull)
  • Special voice for “Hold the Line” of guardian
  • Higher flight of human female’s death blossom

Other

  • No temporary content. Adding only a constant content.*
  • Redesign of system of activity (let it remain, but let accessed for existing activites at any time).
  • I want Scarlet to be afraid of me
  • Return pavilion

Well. That’s all that was I can remember yet. If remember something else – will add. I will be glad to hear your ideas and suggestions. =P Will complete the list with interesting and popular ideas
