I don't understand the opposition to mounts

I don’t understand the opposition to mounts too.
I know a couple of games with the maps twice smaller, but with mounts. And everyone just happy about their presence.
Ok. I want a horse. I do not care if it will not give me more speed. I just want to feel like those epic characters from artworks (Yeah! There ARE mounts on GW2 artworks and concepts! What would you say about it?).
I’m starting to believe that all this “mount-hatred” is nothing more than GW2 trend of some sort. Like <<Look at me! I hate mounts just like them! I’m cool!>> or <<Other games have mounts, like WoW, and this one is not. I need to show that I am special because I hate WoW. Will demonstrate hatred about everything similar to WoW, and banish to WoW everyone who disagree with me!>>.
No seriously. Most of the arguments – pure nonsense. Like, <<we have waypoints!>>. AND? <<I have lift in my house – why do I need a ladder?>>

HoT is easily possible to “solo” – in the sense you can run around and progress. Even with a staff elementalist. But realize you will have to join in for the meta events. You don’t have to party up for them until you hit Dragon’s Stand — but then you will be invited to party to do the big runs. As for HoT personal story you can do that solo right up to the very end…where for most players you will need help.

Run around with zerg, mb? Or run from one personal instance to another?
Try to kill some veterans near 1st WP in Auric Basin solo.
I just tried with my GS\Hammer warrior. You know, “full ascended” kind of warrior. 1.5k of 8k hours played by this one, 20k AP, TA and Lupi solo and other pathos… And what do you think?
I can’t. Just can’t kill this toad on the beetle. Or two frogs on the bridge. I wonder what should I do. “Special build for veterans”? But why the hell I need it? I’ll better just glide down and join any zerg.
Hardcore is good and wonderful of course. But what I see is absolute nonsense.

So I realy want to see how you will deal with some veterans with your staff ele, or 3 pocket raptors packs near maguuma shallows

So you don’t think it’s reasonable to change your build because of harder content, even though you can’t kill things? HoT is not nonsense because you don’t feel you should adapt to the difficulty. Appeals to your AP and hours played only go to show that you have gotten used to the mind numbly easy content Core GW2 has given over the last 3 years.

Frankly, a staff ele has everything they need to kill pocket raptors and veterans. Don’t believe for a second that the thousands of hours you have and AP points has shown you anything you need to know how to play your class because it hasn’t.

Yes, I think so. I believe that solo Lupi – a hard content worthy of special build. Not some veteran mob. Do you know why? Because from Lupi or TA I’ll get a decent reward. From veteran I do not get anything.
May be you can explain me why would anyone do a special build to solo veteran, when it’s much better, easier and more profitable just to join the zerg?
Therefore, no one beats these veterans. That’s why I do not consider this content “harder”. Solo players do not need it. Useless. Content that is so hart that it is impassable solo gives no reasons to solo it and adapt to it. And this is nonsense.

And anyway: in the words everyone strong and skillful. So maybe you will show me how will you solo this http://puu.sh/mIW7z/e9072263df.jpg guy with ele or war? Or this http://puu.sh/mIWdc/73ed34ee42.jpg two?

+1 the OP.

This game was fun and so I thought the expansion would be too, but instead its just become a tedious grind. Anet took the easy out for difficulty, instead of challenging AI, everything just had its damage output jacked way the hell up, so you get one shot by everything on the maps. I can only beat my head against the wall for so long before its just not any fun at all, and that is my overall impression of this expansion. The story isn’t bad, but it isn’t particularly good either. I can only honestly say I wish I hadn’t bought heart of thorns.

I’ll probably keep at for a few more days, because I don’t have money to burn so I will make every effort to redeem this game for myself and the value of my dollar, but its been a week or so and I am just hating it, its a slog, not fun. Someone called it Dark Souls MMO, but honestly Dark Souls was tough but fair for the most part, this crap is just cheap with mobs that hit like trucks, and require no special skill to defeat, just have to get the jump on them & hit them harder first, otherwise they destroy you in a single hit, or if you are really lucky 2 hits.

This is just not true. Everything’s damage isn’t just jacked, they have special abilities that you need to dodge, block, interrupt or otherwise mitigate with protection or whatever. Besides that their damage is normal. The only mobs that don’t have an obvious tell what attack they are going to do are the frogs with bows but they are also very vulnurable to brute force and knock downs since they only have something like 10k hp.
If you’re getting one shot it means you weren’t paying attention, and if you keep getting one shot maby wear defensive gear and use a defensive build until you learn how to deal with them? Other gear than berserker is actually very handy when learning the new maps and mobs, and a full set of exotics is still very cheap. Hell you can get a full exotic soldiers set in Orr for just karma.

Things that are completely useless in regular open world Tyria is extremely useful in HoT like stuns, blinds, knock downs, chill, dodging, actually being present at the computer…

Sounds good and well. But you forgot to mention the fact that half of HoT mobs are vet-s. And they are like a HP sponge. Many of them make the tone of damage. And most of them also have a strip of defiance. Most classes haven’t such count of the control to overcome it. You can’t deny that most of HoT mobs are literally super-annoying.
Smokescales, for example. One is rather easy. But try to kill 2 veterans. I have necro. Necro have pets on some skills. One one of them attacking me with his teleport skill, another puts the smoke and continues to kick my pets within it. Right after this the second does the same thing. I can not control pets – I just have to wait until they die. So at the time they dies I have almost no HP but smokescales, on the contrary, are completely healthy.
Is it assumed that I have to completely change the build for each mob? Or what?
Two vet-s frogs with bows kill my pets and me for a few seconds. I can hardly take half of their HP. And I could kill many champions solo. kitten , I tank raids, m8! But some frogs with bows easily killing me.
Mushroom(!) humiliates killer of elder dragons. Mushroom defender, for example. Uncontrolable. Ton of hp. Ton of damage. Ton of cc. I’m jumping like a clown, a last effort trying to finish some mushroom… The thickest class in the game. Full ascended. Doing 15k crits. Killed by mushroom. Awesome…

And what about these hero challanges shoved somewhere, where no sunlight reaches? Half an hour of searching, to die in a couple of seconds. Cool!

Sharpshooters with 15k execution when you fly past on glider or fight with 2-3 of them. Pew! You’r dead. Great!

Chaks with unavoidable rays. Pew-pew-pew form all directions you didn’t see. You’r dead. Super!

Ok… In a few words: the game has become incredibly irritating when playing solo. Impossible in some places. On the one hand increasing difficulty – it’s good. On the other – you can relax just in boring mindless zergs now. Want to try content solo – lose a lot of nerves. Not good thing, I believe.

(sorry for bad eng, btw)

I adore this game. I spent there nearly 7000 hours. I spent thousands of dollars on it. But I’ll leave it as soon as it happens.
Not because it’s SO important. But because it is the clearest symbol of rejection of the original ideas for which I chose this game.
The fact that they do not add any new skins UW makes me really sad. They can just simply copy it: trident = staff, harpoon gun = rifle. But even this is not done…

Hello.
I believe it would be worth to increase the range of view and objects display significantly.
I think most of modern machines easily withstand displaying of full location terrain. In addition, you can always lower the option. Now we see, at best, a 1/6 of locations and that spoils most of distant (and even not very distant) panoramas.

Hello, dear A-net.
I note that you finally voiced <<Hold the line>>. So happy about it.
Just want to ask (or request): couldn’t you voice “new” warrior’s <<To the limit>> too?
Also I never hear <<Feel my whath>> of guardian, for some reason. It looks like it’s interrupted by Fury voice line, everytime.

I also want to draw your attention to the mesmer’s mantras voice lines. More or less often I hear only <<Recovery>> and <<Pain>> voice lines. Over the past few months I have not heard from your character (human female) any voice lines of other mantras at all(!). Sometimes I hear from other people’s characters.
Perhaps some bug is behind it?

And I almost forgot: it would be nice if you add voice line to norn female critical hit.
Also, voice lines about combat start are extremely(!) rare. You’re lucky if you hear them once a month. But they are so tasty! Could you do something about this?

Removing mechanics because they are useless?!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

Removing Trapper ranger play style by deleting trait “ground targeting throw-able traps” literally destroyed the game play of trapper ranger, because game got quicker, and other builds simply out damage them before you can do anything if you play trapper ranger. But you wonder why this happened? They have decided that we don’t need some traits, so they removed ground targeting in order to clear traits for more useful stuff!

While we keep traits that are seriously useless in the game and are taking only space:
*- “falling damage” what for it’s simply waste of an choice..
*- “Strider’s Defence” same here, what for? like does any1 randomly swing to get 25% chance to break projectile if you even have luck to time the projectile, and then u still face 25% RNG.. if u break the projectile LOL.. can we just rework or remove this one ?

Making optional throw-able traps is a must to deliver diversity to the game, can we remove one of above and get us trapper ground targeting back?

Removing of this trait really destroyed play style, because you can simply only use it defensively. And if you are by any chance needing to defend yourself, you have nothing to do so, because they will simply “dodge walk” your traps and avoid damage and cripple to locate you if you are playing trapper. And if you chase your traps are 100% time useless because you can’t do anything with them.

Why would you remove this awesome mechanics, and break the only ranger fun play style that is not Longbow? Anet please bring it back! We don’t need this two traits above, and please consider bringing throw-able traps back as optional!

I agree about the traps and one viable build.
But the rest is complete nonsense, obviously from a man who don’t know how to play this class right and does not know its capabilities.

It is strange that you forgot to mention the spirits. I never saw that someone used them after the patch. At least somewhere. Unlike traps, by the way. It seems that developers have finally killed spirit abilities category.

Awful Female Human Heavy Armor Art Design

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

MeGaZlo.9516

Chainmail Bikini Syndrome has been a plague on the fantasy community for so many years that it isn’t going away anytime soon. Love it or hate it it’s just the way it is. GW2 isn’t nearly as bad as most games in the genre. I would love to see more FULL coverage female heavy armors though, and fewer(none) exposed skin death traps, but I can accept that lots of people don’t agree.

we are on the same boat
i would love to have more full coverage armor
an i wouldnt mind, even appreciate no korean type eposed heavy armor
sexy dont have to be showing skin, a good fit full coverage showing the perfect bodyline is way sexier than bikini

You should be happy with the status quo then since a majority of the existing heavy female armors are practically puritan in their sensibilities.

Not me, I want armor to look like armor. I personally just despise badly designed armor, regardless of which stupid fallacy they pick, be it chainmail bikini or skin tight metal catsuit.

It’s fine though, I’m used to most fantasy armor being ridiculous looking trash covered in cleave points, with zero thought given to it’s ability to actually function as armor. And that applies to most of the men’s armor as well.

So you want hyper realistic armor in fantasy games where people are shooting fireballs, turning invisible, making copies of themselves that can fight, etc. Seems kinda weird to me, but ok I guess?

I do not quite understand this point of view. If it’s fantasy world with magic so the armor here has to be ridiculous not look like armor? Is it some kind of rule? “If something not as in reality – let’s make so that everything will not be as in reality?”. How the fact that people can shoot fire from wooden sticks leads to the fact that they go into battle naked?

The best for now is cond engi.
Then melee ele, provided that he attacks more than trying to survive.
LB ranger after, provided that the pet is alive and able to attack.
Then melee thief (pistol-whip build is still good, btw).
GS mesmer. I like mesmer with mantras in PvE. Feel superior.
Staff ele (fire\arcane glass canon)
Cond war (if skillfully use both bow and sword)
Bers guardian (excluding the bug with symbols)
Power engi.
Power war (not that good as many think)
Power necro.
Cond mesmer.
Cond ranger.
Cond ele (with signets, scepter, etc)
Cond necro (excluding epidemic)
Cond guardian (still it seems poor in AOE)

If you find staff guardian bad, I have a bad notice for you : Its not the guardian staff that is bad

@Topic: I quite like the male annimation. Seens like Goku channeling power, or something like that (Sorry, couldn’t find a better example).

No.. Guardian staff is definitely one of the worst weapons in the game. The only weapon that beats it in terribleness is Guardian shield. The staff does terrible damage and is essentially a utility weapon with bad utility. Like Empower which gives super short duration might and which anybody who actually uses in an environment with other people is actually hurting the party by getting rid of their not kittenty might.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Mauricio

Is Starting a Necro a bad idea?

in Necromancer

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

Well, because this game has pretty good balance, every profession can compete with any others somehow. However, in my humble opinion, necromancer at the moment loses to any other profession in all aspects. I am sure that the some representatives of other professions could tell you something like this about theirs on other prof-topics.
But in support of my objectivity I can say that a necromancer is not my favorite class or main. Moreover, I have the opportunity to compare it with any other build of any other class in every aspect of the game.

Therefore, I recommend refrain before the launch of addon, in order to not be disappointed ahead of time.

The current purpose of staff

in Necromancer

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

This is why Staff works much better for condi builds, the combination of Terror with Reaper’s Mark, and the damage from the conditions make it a much better fit for condi, whereas on power builds it literally does nothing unique except have range.

Well, nothing unique for power builds except make you laugh at Thieves that kill themselves because they teleported into the marks you dropped on your feet. The range is only half the flexiblity of the staff. If that’s all you consider its use for in power builds, you’re using it wrong.

I do not know what kind of thieves is this these, but the only ability of the staff which causes at least some damage – is a putrid mark. And as the power skill it is not the most… outstanding.
Well, let’s say so: it makes the same amount of damage every 20 seconds as guardian’s staff orb every 3 seconds. Damage of remaining abilities clearly suggests to us that this is not a power weapon.

I think thief must be dead on 3/4, at least, to kill himself on marks.

MeGaZlo.9516

Well… Yet it does not sound like something good, but as a lack of something better…

Maybe I do not understand something but staff necro can normaly hold only 6-8 bleeding on target of all conditions. This, I would say, is quite dull. Even ele can make 5 times more cond damage with his staff, without losing control. Well… same for power damage too…
The engineer now is able to easily hold 20+ stacks of bleeding, 3-5 burning, 25 vulner and endless criple at 5 targets SOLO. For comparison. Can blind and freeze and poison, water fields, many blasts… and much-much more.
Thief ~ 30+ aoe bleed, 5 poison, blind, criple…
Warrior ~ 6 aoe burn, 10+ to target (1-shot now)
If you suddenly have to choose between an staff necromancer and engi, or ele, or cond war, of thief, etc… whom will you choose? Necromancer?

I just do not understand: the staff is really so miserable in comparison with other profession’s AoE\Cond weapons, or am I missing something important?

MeGaZlo.9516

Not sure I’m fully understand the appointment of staff now. Before patch I used it in rather good condition builds with corruption skills for transfer and terror. Now terror and corruption traits at same column so the option loses half of its appeal. In addition in PvE staff lost half of its bleedings in primary (in my opinion) condition skill – mark of blood. I decided that it could be used in physical builds, perhaps. However, its physical damage (I will speak frankly) is ridiculous. The only option coming to my mind now: a mediocre life force generator at ranged combat for “shroud-crit” build. However, this one, to put it mildly, can not be called “staff” build. Axe still remains preferred weapon with it.
I compared staff cond and physical performance with (as I think) engineer’s analogue of this weapon – grenades kit. And I can not fail to note that the staff several times(!) loses in both aspects. Not that I was very upset. However don’t see the point to do something by one class if the other doing it several times better.

I love the staff necromancer concept itself . Like the style or something…
Therefore, I ask for advice of experts: how to use staff without being fully crap.

Sorry for poor English, btw

6400 hours played. ~200+ TT kills. Got no ascended drop at all.
No precursors (neither drop nor MF).
Exotic drops relatively well. But, in general, I agree with you.

Ground Targeting Traps for Rangers

in Ranger

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

Rangers lose the ability to do any ground targeting for trap utilities.
Necros gain BASELINE ground targeting for well utilities.

And lost corruption skills, the best heal and one of the best elite skills, the main damage to the staff and became worst condi-damagers in game.
Seriously, it would be good to know the class before starting to compare them.

Should I still mention that most of the wells does not cause damage or damaging condition, activates immediately even if they hit no1, and have much more sparse effect (1-3 sec of rangers vs 5 sec of necro). Besides that CD of wells exceeds traps twice+.
So… Yes, it was a bad comparison.

This was a comparison of similar-functioning skill/trait combinations that are no longer similar.
All wells are capable of dealing direct damage through life siphon. Learn the class.

Aaaw… 100 damage per tick, against 800-1000 of condi-ranger… You call it a “damage”? It is me, who should learn the class?

I got what it was. But in addition to the functions it’s still worth to compare some other criteria too.

Kind of…
The idea to put corruption trait at one column with fear damage (both – key traits for conditionmancer, if you don’t know) – was just awful. Was it not enough to weaken CC and plague? I understand that it was supposed to be a difficult but interesting dilemma of choosing between two important pieces, etc. But in other professions I did not find such “difficult” dilemmas, for some reason.
Well, scepter is still rather OK, more or less. But staff… Let’s just call it “crap”. Terrible for condi, terrible for power. Have you even tried to compare it with engineer’s grenades? Behold, I tried. And it’s not even funny. Seriously, attach some damaging condition at autoattack, at least. Because now it’s just sluggish long-range life force generator, and nothing more.

I do not know why, but I associate necromancer with condition, somehow. It was strange to see that necro became the worst one in this field.

With power builds and support all just wonderful, btw. Ths for new axe animation. Rather good.

Ah.. one more thing here =>
I not really understand why ranger was reduced to one sustainable build.
Swap your pets, push three buttons. Most utilities became too “uncomfortable” to use. Spirits and traps were not the most popular option, even b4. Are you sure it was worth to nerf them?

Weapon skills appear pretty early. And at lower levels 10 vulnerability hardly will be able to have a strong effect on the thickest class in the game.
The only problem is in cooldown now. -33% trait will be available only on 51(?).

So…10 pages…not going to read them all…but the lesson I think Anet is giving us based on the nerfs and damage done to necros is: “Don’t play a necro”. They totally messed up the skills “Consume Conditions” and “Spectral Walk” so much they are useless. And, to add insult to injury, some idiot thought it was a great idea to have that as a new Necro’s starting heal skill. Awesome job. On what magical planet does a heal skill make it so you’re totally squishy in a heated battle??

On the other hand, now it has a good synergy with condition transfer skills like Putrid Mark and Deathly Swarm or Well of Power, for example.

Hi,

As you might know map exploration is the worst feature of the game, when you did it 1, 2, 3 times you just can’t do it more it’s horrible … but you still need it … so boring, So please Anet add something in the gem store for people who already did the 100% map exploration, something to instant unlock the map can be 2000gems can be 5000gems no matter i will buy it on all my caracters and im not the only one, trust me !

PS : sorry for my english

Speak for yourself please.

Hello, dear developers.
I beg you to pay more attention to ranged weapons, especially that which is rarely used (that is not reason to forget about it, right?).
First, I want to note that the warrior’s rifle at the moment – the weakest ranged weapon of all existed in game. It is convenient, yes. But its DPS is negligible.
- One more +20% damage buff on Fierce Shot perhaps would correct the situation.
- Besides that Brutal Shot is not brutal at all. Maybe buff it too?

For the necromancer would be nice to think about the staff.
-Since you take away some of the bleeding from Mark of Blood, it may be worthwhile to add at least one bleeding on Nrecrotic Grasp?
- In addition, I want to note that it would be nice to lift the physical damage of Necrotic Grasp and Mark of Blood. Because at the moment necro’s staff can not fully perform the role of physical ranged weapon.

Do not ignore the complaints of thieves.
Dual pistols are really weak. They are good for the rapid destruction of targets in PvP, but after a few seconds of burst, they become quite dull.
- The problem would be corrected by simple DPS lift of Vital Shot AA, once again.
- In addition, the whining about ricochet removal is not groundless at all. This stuff is really important. I beg you to return it. Maybe even replace it by pierce on Unload?

A lot of useless traits are still in or got masked by pitiful buffs:

  • Symbolic Exposure: This trait does nothing, you get up to 3 stacks of vulnerability, up to 3 stacks of perma vulnerability if you are using a hammer (this in PvE, for PvP and WvW is even more weak);
  • Wrathful Spirit: Retaliation is the weakest boon in the game and it only applies 3 seconds when Aegis is lost (75 seconds of CD on VoC or 40 sec CD of Retreat);
  • Binding Jeopardy: comparing with the current Binding Jeopardy (5 stacks of 8 seconds) or Blind Exposure (3 stacks of 10 seconds), this only applies 3 seconds, unless it apllies a high stack (15+) will be meaningless.
  • Symbolic Avenger: They said that will be only +10%, so this trait will literally be PvE only.
  • Right-hand strength: the Sword lost +10% dmg and the +10% dmg with conditions from radiance line. 20% CD reduction doesn’t mean much. Also the Sword #3 still roots. (at least is the +10% from Retribution to compensate)
  • Healer’s Retribution: This is the new dumbiest trait in the game. 5 seconds of real every 30 seconds. Is a dead slot among all falling traits.
  • Amplified Wrath: nerfed more than half. I won’t say much becouse I not tested how burning will be. Also they nerfed every on block trait with an 1 sec ICD.
  • Radiant Retaliation: This junk is still here. There is no reason to keep this trait in the game. Even with the nerfed Amplified Wrath, it will always be better in condition builds (if they really become viable). And they said that won’t be any change for this trait (like increasing its damage or something else).
  • Stalwart Defender: this trait is the weakest trait from shield traits. Also this is the weakest shield weapon. (it will still be with the lower CDs).
  • Writ of Persistence VS Pure of Voice: Who played as support Guardian knows how it makes weaker. Now if you want to be support you must choose between shouts and something else or symbols and consecrations. Shouts + symbols? You can’t.
  • Retaliatory Subconscious: This once was the weakest trait in the game, now is competing with Healer’s Retribution. So if you goes into virtues line, you’ll take this trait if you don’t use Consecrations because Unscathed Contender is unreliable outside PvE (might be better with Long Bow). Block a single hit after stunned won’t help much, mainly considering it is on every 30 seconds. Also, the 3 seconds of retal is meaningless.
  • Battle Presence: it already was weak, now is even more weaker becouse it doesn’t work if VoR is on CD. And don’t say that have synergy with Purity of Body (+15% endurance regen) because that is too low. It needs a secondary effect, even more considering its “nerf”, maybe on activation of VoR.

These are my main issues with the changes. All classes have significant changes, but not Guardian. That is what frusted me. Sorry if I sounded stupid, but I’m really frustrated with the changes on the class.

And not only that, but they don’t even tried to change usless utility skills like:

  • Hallowed Ground: This skill is 99.99% of the time useless. Stand your Ground will always be best than this one – you don’t need to keep in place to fully recieve it’s effects, you get retal, it is instant and its a stun breaker – The only upside is that is a fire field. This skill should have its CD reduced or be a stun breaker to be viable as SyG.
  • Sanctuary: The CD is too long to be viable to use.
  • Merciful Intervention: One of the worst skills in the game. It is basically a 50 sec 2k heal, with 4k for yourself if traited. The teleport is worthless.
  • Signet of Mercy: Like all revive skills, should have its cast time reduce to 2 seconds, not only that, this is the revival with the weakest effecs, but the longest cast time.

Hallowed Ground and all kind of retaliation works perfectly on WvW. Retaliation – is bane of flamethrower engineers and dagger thiefs, moreover. People get burned in sec-s by AOE on support squads with retaliation.

It seems many people judge the changes considering only one of game aspect they prefer more.

I have to agree with complaints about ranger.
And necro.
A-a-and warrior. What about the rifle, for example? The weakest ranged weapon of all weapons of all professions… Seriously, compare the damage counts already.

But mostly about ranger.
It seems as if the developer does not… don’t know the word… comprehend? the essence of class gameplay and its problems. How do they imagine the work of spirits? Just a weak version of the banners, which can not even be moved? Active effect kills it, but you can use it only when the enemy is near (in this situation spirit as good as dead anyway, with trait or without). Thus spirits – are another visible(!) traps (but with a weak passive effect) that ranger should have time to activate with his own hands?
I do not know about you, but I would not use such skills.
Btw, what is wrong about trapper’s expertise? The only trait that gave interactivity to dull and monotonous ranger’s abilities. And now it will be completely “three-button-boredom” with one only normal build, which already has become so banal that everyone sick of it.
Sadness.

Hey! And what about regeneration – the most useless and inessential of all boons? Nothing? Or have I missed the information?

Lornar’s Pass. It fascinates from all sides.
But if we talk about the gameplay – Silverwastes pleases us by great synergy and mutual integration of elements.

Underwater’s many bugs and issues aside, my real issue with water content in GW2 is that swimming feels clunky and un-fun. I don’t want to slowly and awkwardly shift up and down while remaining fully horizontal facing, it makes navigation of water areas feel like a hassle.

Here’s how you can make it fun: make swimming feel like flying. That is to say, allow freedom of movement in any direction and allow the character to be MORE maneuverable, not less. Allow us to use the endurance bar like a speed boost rather than just a fixed-distance dodge.

Is not it a right reflection of the physics of water – it constrains your movements, but allows you to move horizontally?..
Anyway, if you want to feel really “clunky” underwater combat – try BDO, or new Witcher, for example.
If we compare – the controllability and dynamics of swimming in this game – one of the best I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen really a lot.

You do realize all events are already finished and prepared to be aired. Nothing is last minute…except hotfixes. If you wanted to suggest something u should have done it a long time ago. Nobody is changing anything.

Em… Strange statement…
A-net are constantly adding a bunches of new events everywhere. What prevents to add them into the cities?
And what’s the value of suggestion time? Another pessimistic comments like "they never do what I want ", or something like that? ^^

Swimming would have been better if they just stuck to the World of Warcraft/Rift way of handling under water combat… its 10 time better than GW2’s underwater combat, yet it wasnt even a major feature in those games like it was hyped up to be here.

Disagree.
Here is a special dynamics and unique mechanics, unique animation and so on. And there it is not “realized”, but simply “allowed” as the same thing as ground combat, but just under water.
