Planting of temporality

Just yet do not have time to buy an beautiful axe in the shop because of the “changes of billing platforms”. Also has recollected how much I hate temporary things. Why developers spend resources on such numbers of temporary skins, content, etc? While all games are trying to build up amounts of content, GW 2 just cuts all of, leaving only the base. Moreover, as already revealed, there is almost no one there who does not hate temporary things. Why, A-net?! WHY?!? Don’t u think that if the content is constant, new players will also be able to touch it, which will lead to more sales and more gaming hours, than just creating a temporary rush of those players that is already there. Plus reduce indignation of already present players. Do not you think it’s wrong to say that “we have decided to go ahead at this course” when hundreds of customers are telling you that unhappy about it? The consumer is always right, is not it?

Hey, is there at least someone who likes temporality and time frames?

Require a variety of cloaks in game! Many at once. And so it were obtained through craft/drop/merchant but not as another reward skin for the achievement!

BTW, warrior – most “stable” class in the game. No one else can boast such access to stability boons.

My ranger runs 35-40sec of stability from RaO.
I built that way solely to kill the over-popular hammer warrior.

But it’s only 40 sec of 120 with boon duration. Warrior can easily do 60 of 120 withOUT boon duration (65 if round off). Having 5 stunbreaks in the meantime. If the goal is stability itself – you can even add 20 seconds from rampage. Rather cheaty eh?

It is still possible to insert some minor qualifications like: this is single skill so if boon will be removed you’re staying without them at an all CD time, this is elite skill with activation time and can be interrupted, while the warrior have many instant or even automatic skill, etc.

Let me give just one example of something better to work on… knockdown. I carry both Dolyak Signet and Balanced Stance. You’d think I could walk in the Nightmare Tower without feeling like a pinball? Neither of these skills will remove a stun. And some-one please explain the Defense VIII Trait last stand? Shouldn’t this also block a knockdown once every 90 seconds?

Do not quite understand what you mean. These skills are working properly, giving you stability (and working as stunbreak). Stability makes you immune to knockdown and stun. Stunbreak instantly interrupts any CC effects on you (including stun and knockdown). Last Stand gives automatic stability. In other words any CC flown in you will be ignored by you every 90 seconds and you will become immune to them for ~8+ sec

BTW, warrior – most “stable” class in the game. No one else can boast such access to stability boons.

I have all the classes in 2-3 copies (I created 3 characters of each race to see all the storylines and put in all the beautiful racial sets). I can say that the best balanced (within the class) is necromancers and warriors. Very strong classes that can do anything (do fractals solo, for example, very easy). Thief is a very strong, no matter what stats you put on him – he is very soft and requires accurate management, and good skills to controll him (many like it). After engineers and mesmers shared the place . Very interesting classes, but each has its drawbacks. Will not talk about it. Cond engineers – one of the most frightening classes in combat. In smallscale pvp destroys anything. Mesmer is interesting in itself. Plenty of options for gameplay. Interesting mechanics. Variety of builds. Most of all I disappointed by guards and elementalist. A lot of bugs that still unfixed. Unbalanced weapons. Unbalanced mechanics. Minimum variance. These two classes, in fact, will push you in a very rigid framework of gameplay and builds (well, at least if you want to be effective). For example you will soon realize that for a comfortable life and benefiting for group elementalist simply MUST spam attunements switch and use the most powerful skills of the other elements. For boons and effects. Almost all builds are based on water and arcane lines. As well as guardian’s on valor line. Although every man to his own taste.

So I look at GW2 and I’d say there is almost no grind and certainly no grinding required to progress. There’s never a point where you need to level up or need a specific bit of equipment and your only way to get it is to do the same few things over and over. Even things like dailies, yes you need to keep doing them to get laurels if you want ascended accessories, but you don’t have to do the same ones or do them in the same area and you can combine them with other activities. Plus you can carry on playing whatever without the ascended gear, you’re not stuck in one area until you get it.

Whereas people like you who define grind as pursuing a goal might say there’s a lot of grind in GW2 because most of the time you’re working towards something, but might also say that’s ok because without it there would be nothing to do.

The problem is – here is no progress. You do not need ascended gear. However, it makes you stronger by 10+ percent. It’s like going to the raid on the clothing 1tier below needed. The problem – there’s no raids. Here, in principle, no content that demanded anything. You can walk through the dungeons even naked, u can go pvp on 40 levels below the maximum. You will be useless place holder, but no one will be able to show you the claims.
Hence the only progress that is in the game – is cosmetic. And for any thing that looks different from all the rest you need to grind. Grind – is grind. It has no philosophy. You’ll have to get either the tone of resources or tone of money. Neither the first nor the second is not incremented during the normal game process.

I agree with the OP. People who claim that the tower is easily traversed solo – either just bragging or runing behind the zerg without even notice. Run through really possible. However, most banal’s events impracticable for solo. Even if there are no champions. Farming of mobs impossible too: veterans have a huge pull, most of mobs requires finishing. When they fall downstate packs from all around running up to them (they aggro even through walls). Killing 8-10 mobs (and in most cases it turns out just so) difficult to achieve even for two or three players. You can kill some packs. But it long, difficult and have no profit.

Packs just not balanced. They are interesting in themselves, but not quite balance in packs. Almost every mob has CC. Under unfortunate circumstances there is a risk to don’t stand up even with stability (once lost a full hp of warrior with the signet, stance and autostance without rising from the ground). Coupled with the huge damage (some veterans quietly break through on 8k damage to 3k armor (hard to imagine what will happen to the thief or elementalist), constant ticks of toxin, which may be removed only in special places, permanent plast of condition, flower-bombs which can hit u for half (or full) hp and knocs back and flower turrets which adding extra damage staying there solo is simply impossible.

What can I say? I took some 10th+ fractals solo. Soloed lupi by 3 classes, but make the most of event at this tower solo I simply can not. And by the way, let all sorts of “clever people” who advise to use a dodge =/ go to the forest. Your dull trolling impressed no one.

In short, we got a huge impressive location, which can be only passed in hurry, spitting and swearing. To create it devs, for shure, spend huge amounts of time and resources (about 4 month for 1 patch, right?). Don’t you feel sorry for yourself, dear A-net? What a colossal waste… Where did you find at all that people like zerg-oriented content? From a dozen of hamsters who shout on forums that the locations are empty? Eh…

Friends, you have not grasped the essence. I scold local grind not for it’s necessity or counts. I’m not against grind itself. The contrary, I want gring to become more important and meaningful. If you do not need it – wonderfully. People who believe that they need faced with problem of irrelevance of what they grind. I suggest to turn decorative things into unlocks. Like what we have now with Zenith things. This will turn the disposable skins in the collection. Give the meaningfulness and usefulness to their grind.

I agree with the sentries and similar achievements just being useless grind/fluff.

Gotta disagree with capturing camp and cutting off supply by killing dollies though, those activities are alot more beneficial than the other stuff you grouped them with in your examples, specially for people who prefer to play solo/small scale and contribute to PPT.

Exactly, much more important and helpful than zerging towers.

I am not against these avhievs. I am against the number of targets. An average player who plays in the evenings have no time to do it all “in the process.” He forced to focus specifically on this to complete. This imposing of play style allready.

While I get the point that most b-e-a-utiful things are hard to get….

For example? 90% of the beautiful things you just need to buy in game store. Things from the dungeons just require yout to pass this dungeon ~25 times (“you do not have to grind the same dungeon over and over again to get something from there” © 3). Legendary weapon? Simple requires a huge infusion of money and time. I crafted and sold 17 legendarys at the time). I do not see any particular difficulty. Just… grind.

…I personally don’t see the “need” for grind. People grind for what they “want”, not what they “need”.
People can be competitive without spending too much time farming. Your toon will be ugly as hell (which is still subjective), sure, but you’re competitive – your stat isn’t as far as the one on ascended.

Part of the truth, but the whole thought of my post just about it. Just a change of priorities. Instead grind something that improves your character, you just grind cosmetics. The bottom line is that this is not enough. Everything should be “decorated” differently. Give players the feeling that they grind for improve of account and not the skins that they do not need.

So unless there is a required fashion show in-game, I believe nothing is “requiring” us to grind.

The point is this. However, it does not work. Most mmo players tend to get everything possible in game. So they feel the game progress. The argument “it’s just a decoration, you do not need it in fact” does not work here. Permanent wild gem price increase proves it. Players do not like it when they haven’t got something that other player have. They kept the whole economy of the game. They must be considered. People who really believe in the uselessness of grind in this game – just tens of the thousands.

Removing conditions is not WvW specific. Reviving downed players would result in people jumping off a height and reviving each other. Creating siege would result in people emptying the supply in a keep to build whatever siege they are missing, most likely in a manner that makes them unusable.

Personally, the ones that I disliked are the jumping puzzles and the mercenary camps. The mercenary camps would’ve been good, if they had not throw in Toxic stuff.

Eeer… Support squads are based on the cond-removing. Most WvW builds one way or another are based on the cond-removing. The entire game’s combat system is tied to the conditions. It is a kitten VERY specific. This would encourage glory-hunters running around in wretched pve-solo builds to show signs of use.

I didn’t say “downed”, I told “downstated”. And to avoid bypass grind, dev-s shouldn’t do massive amount of target’s numbers like 250-500, etc. All must be done in the course of ordinary WvW process.

For example – capture 5 castles – good. Performed for a couple of evenings. Process does not interfere with the WvW. Capture 50 camps of mercenaries – bad. Need a few weeks. Cut off from the WvW process and it is essentially a PvE.

“We don’t make grindy games” – said someone. What we see in reality ? The entire game, in fact, is a solid wall of grind . The local grind has 3 directions .
1) – standard grind, in order to accumulate something. Suppose you want to make a legendary weapon . You’ll need a few weeks to grind resources , then money , then karma, and so on. No options.
2) – grind of gold. Suppose you want to buy a suit or pets in the store. For that you need phenomenal amount of money. You go for weeks to grind resources, dungeon champions. Inhuman (and growing) prices for gems stimulates you to spend real money (which is allready easier to make in reality than in game =P (do you think this is normal?)).
3) – grind of achievements. Everything is clear and nothing to tell about it. Comes another patch. Comes another pack of achievements.

All in-game grind united by one fact – its uselessness. The basic idea is very clear – do grind not necessary, then the players who aspiring for nothing special will not feel offended. And wrong aboit it is –
deprived were those who exactly apsiring. People who are eager to spend more time in the game and collect gaming features, get as reward complete nonsense, which seems useless even to fans of such kind of game features.

Achievement points not impressive for anyon (as they all earned by simple accumulation of something but not by achieving the goals (stupid “get-x9999999-like” grind) and become completely useless after ~11k. So much of decorative skins that there is simply not enough characters and set tipes to apply it (take my word, I dressed 18 characters =P). About miniatures I’ll better keep quiet. More useless and unnecessary pets I have not seen anywhere at all.

Grind should(!) be well motivated. It is a quality grind keeps players in MMO. In fact mmo is a week of story, month of fun and year of grind. In GW motivation is virtually nonexistent. Here developers extremely mistaken. You can not pull out the game on one only innovative combat system. It become commonplace in a couple of months. Most promised things that dev-s advertised somehow neglected in the shadow. Like hears and explorations system instead quests, personal story (that rly made ??a noise) not developing at all. And so on. Now not about it.

I think it’s time for dev-s to think about the global system of unlocks. Something like the truth we see now in the rewards for achievements. I think all game skins and decorative thingss should work on this system. When you do not get a one single reward on whole account but unlock it for all your characters, so use at any time. Just so for minis. Need a special tab in the character panel(!) and not in the bank, which would be shared to all. The same theme with gathering tools too, etc. It’s creates a sense that you are improving your account. Otherwise, progress stops as soon as you collect all that you are comfortable in appearance and finish exploration achiev. Together with a sense of progress leaves interest to the game.

And, it’s time to think about PvE characters improving the system too, like the WvW ranks. Where skill points will involved. Level of fractals, which gives you access to exactly the same fractals but more difficult – it is not enough.

Also, I fervently believe that in the game should not be a temporary rewards. Everything should be available at all times. For example, instead of removing decorative gathering tools and minis from the game, just to sell them more much expensive after the completion of sales.

So.. fun is fun, but need to think about motivation, anyway.

I think it is necessary to focus on the achievement which improving quality of player’s game. Achievements like "capture x100500, get x9999, grab x50000 should be avoided. This creates a sense of banal grind. Instead of doing useful things and help the team players just run and grab a points/hunt dolyaks/fill up difficult gates with common rums, etc. Need to do to achieves like “remove 100 conditions” “raise/rally 25 downstated players”, “create x10 supperior siege equipment”. In other words – achievements that force players to benefit the raid, rather than forcing them to grind.

Also, you should think about the number of targets more carefully. 50 camps of mercenaries… Hm… I captured probably less than 50 for the entire year on WvW. 225 sentry points – it is many hours of useless running around, even after all other achievs are done.

Influx of game currency

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

Hi, dear developers. Wanted to spend a couple of minutes to talk about this important aspect of the game economy. I had a chance to compare this with a similar aspect in many other games. I must say that the situation is very bad. I’ll explain the problem. Conventionally, the game contingent can be divided into two types : 1- people who want to achieve everything in the game, and acquire all the rare and interesting ingame things; 2- people who do not care, usually they are focussed on some narrow aspect of the game, which they are interested and spent only on things associated with it. About the second type we will not talk. Because usually they do not stay long. And the economy is based mainly on the first tipe.

So. Get to the point. Game currency inflow is negligible. While the outflow crazy. “We do not make grindy games” – said John. Declared game concept should be based on this. It was clearly stated that we “do not have to repeat the same action over and over again to get something”. “You can do what fun without the distraction on grind”. So? That you promised? Many players who have chosen and purchased the game is guided by this certification. Right?

In reality, the situation is different. Let us recognize the fact: how much gold for the evening people can accumulate engaging events, wvw, spvp, closing the hearts, doing dungeons, etc? Response ~ from zero to five. How much gold is required to get different game’s “interestings”? Miniatures, costumes, decorative tools, back items, cultural sets, unique weapon. Answer ~ from hundreds to thousands. Insignificant inflow of money destroys the game economy, lowering the average price of the goods to pennies, and equipment to the silver/gold (1-1.5). Making it impossible for normal farm of money in the game. Thus it is practically impossible to acquire anything valuable (even not very valuable) without banal grind for hours on end. Besides zero inflow of gems in the game (without real money) dramatically worsens the situation. The average player must either grind or just save money without spending them on anything for months. This situation stimulates only game donate, but kills interest to game and the game economy (believe me, no1 like to grind for months to buy useless miniatures of something like that).

While you are trying to cut off the flow of money as much as possible, I suggest to increase it tenfold. To the average event gave ten silver instead of one. To be able to accumulate decent amount of money just by killing monsters. Should be introduced additional ways of farm. Such as extraction and sale of rare things through exploration. In addition, you should consider intelligible system of game unlocks (you can seek for examples in SWtOR, or something). To stimulate the outflow of money on something really useful.
Do you understand the idea? Goal – to interest the player. Create a sense of progress. Accumulated – spent, accumulated – spent, etc. Not take the maximum of his time on grind for things useless on practice.

Not complaining about Bloody Prince Mini

in Blood and Madness

Posted by: MeGaZlo.9516

MeGaZlo.9516

The problem is not the difficulty of obtaining it. The problem on the scale of stupidity of grind. Even I, a person who likes to grind (I do not know, calms me), think this example is stupid. To collect enough candy for prince you need more than 300 hours of persistent, non-stop grind. For a person with a normal mentality it is simply impossible.
Much faster and easier – to banal save money for it. In other words, to save up for the special event reward, I have to skip event and grind money as usual. It’s not very good. Since the event should leave a lot of all kinds of nonsense on memory. Well… sort of decorative belongings, themed items etc, that will remind about it the rest the year. Current Events leave almost nothing, except of the things that require wild ammounts of grind to obtain. And not available to all. Thus all the gameplay, which should rejoice and leave commemorative awards, turns to grind for useless things.
Yes. Just useless. For I am almost sure that the miniatures, in its current form, does not need for anything at all, as it is inconvenient and poorly implemented. They are unable to properly follow you, constantly despawns, barely visible, many of them look ridiculous (well, it’s not a pet, but just a small mob or NPC, right?). They can not be put on the shelf as a decoration or something like… You can’t pet them like in WoW, etc. The only meaning – call them standing AFK in LA, giving the impression that you’re a complete moron. Cool! So Now – it’s just the highlighted slot in the bank. Few people want to spend 300 hours on the farm of highlighted slot.
Thus the event – grind for nothing.

You are cool. But you as well as I know that that’s an exaggeration of reality. This is roughly the same thing as the group logged at WvW, captured the first supply, and then stated “no, nor any skill delays.” I can hardly remember where you can find there a lonely creature. But the places where they were 5 + everywhere. The first pack of lunatics or glowing skeletons decompresses your thief without options. In the battle with 3-5 mummies you hardly have time to get up from the ground. Try to make a some events. Or dig up resources. Or kill veterans. Try to just run around there for an hour. You will realize that this place is not designed for farm and ordinary players.
Speaking of balance, you must submit a game all classes and all types of players. Elementalist for example, or even a small guardian. Squeeze the buns, gather up, find and kill few lonley mobs (not without difficulty, I’m sure) will show you nothing about balance. Therefore, your bravado – nothing but some pathos.
In addition, I am a true supporter of the opinion that the various movements debuffs are given to MOBS only for irritation of player. They do not need to mobs and should not be. A labyrinth – it’s just a parade of immobilize and cripple. Actually, you can not make a single step without getting a pack of these conds. This place is just created to annoy. This is the wrong approach.

Otherwise, how am I going to catch strikes on 1\3 of my HP from mobs and stacks of 8+ bleeding per sec? And in general, there are too few of mobs at all! Only 3-5 per meter. I am still able to survive there alone!! OMG! What were you thinking about when balancing this labyrinth??

No, this has nothing to do with you being a ‘casual player’ (a meaningless term). This has to do with you complaining that you took two weeks to actually participate in Halloween.

If your job has you so busy that you can’t muster up a few hours to play Halloween over the course of two weeks, then I think you need to re-evaluate your work/life balance rather than the pacing of the game.

Yes, OP, listen to him! He knows better how to properly live.

Regarding rewards relating to the Living World content I agree that we should make greater effort to ensure that time investment is matched by the reward. We have to be careful in this regard due to constraints surrounding our economy but we have already discussed many ways of meeting this goal and maintaining the integrity of the economy.

Greetings. A little off topic. But since you mentioned the issue of game economy.

I do not want to offend you, but the game’s economy is now on the verge of horrible. By itself the basic gameplay, which is really… well… fun, does not bring any benefit. Just for example, in most of mmo games, doing different “casual nonsense” in type of quests or achievment farm, for a couple of days a player able to get good amount of money even at low levels, from the sale of droped things, quest rewards or simply money and trash from mobs. Which he can spend on a variety of interesting things, such as mounts, rare equipment, “chemistry”, enhancements, cosmetics etc. Doing game events and traveling around the world of Tyria whole day, I could hardly even be able score a pair of gold.
Mobs drops the ridiculous amount of money. 99.99% of the things that can drops (and even better quality – exotic, which drops very rarely even in dungeons) are worthless (not more ~1.5g) and will bring more meaning if you’ll just salvage them. Earlier in the chest from epic MEGA bosses lay one copper coin. It seemed a mockery. Now it’s a couple of chests which gives you within ~15 silver coins. It is approximately five uses of WPs. The most valuable (in your opinion) things in this game cost from hundreds of gold and above. On the example of the last event – I have to spend 150 gold on the mini, or 120 on a bag. Rare weapons cost me 400-1500 gold. Cultural sets – 120g.

As you may have realized, just doing what is fun (events, hearts or even achievements of LW) you will never get enough profit to buy something meaningful (and the price of gems growing and growing….). Thus the entire game “economy” is closed in pure and ruthless grind. You simply are bringing certain of its manifestations: grind of blue ingredients, grind of champions, grind of resources, grind of dungeons. But grind – this is exactly the kind of thing that should not have been in this game, if to trust your promises. In addition, the fact that you are trying to immediately cut something that brings more profit than the grind (eg it reminded me shoulders from aetherblade JP or… karma from chests) says clearly not in your favor. It creates a lasting impression that the developers feel sorry for giving gold to players. The policy of “the less they get for unit of time – the more game hours they spend – the better”

Frankly, this halloween just killed all my optimism. Even I am – a person who adored this game – see that the whole event – it’s 300-400 hours a blunt, stubborn grind of mobs in the labyrinth to get the mini(!) to the memory…
This.
Is.
Not.
Fun.

Well… I have more constructive criticism on this point. But not in this topic. Just wanted to draw your attention to this problem, since you are attentively watch for this topic.

World population? Really, guys? Really?
I do not know how about america. But on eu servers there are lags for 3-15 seconds in most of the fights on all servers. Lags even in the empty open fields. Guilds falling apart because they can not play. People are leaving the game, because they do not see the point of SUCH wvw. Neither one tactic works in such lags, but only huge “1-spamming” zerg. Therefore, all the glory hunters flock to the top servers where are bigger zergs. That is why people stop going on WvW on some servers. And you discuss population… wonderfull!

I would like to talk about the rewards.

Maybe my post will seem a little angry. But in reality, it’s just a harsh statement of fact.

I think in this halloween developers simply went too far. In some sense the situation with the grind has reached its climax. This is simply ridiculous. This game has worst rewards for world events from all that I’ve seen.

I used to love collecting mini. But now it’s just disgusting to me. Every couple of weeks the developers added a half dozen of minis. Almost all of them we will have to simply buy. I can not remember even five miniatures, which can be obtained through some kind of quests or action in the world. It’s just not interesting. There are 3 options. Grind of achievements. Grind of money. And JUST grind, as we can see in the example of mini prince.
About this on the details:
20 candy corn cobs for mini = 20.000 candy corns =~150g. After spending the whole day you can collect ~1000 candy corns. It mean 20 days of grind to get ONE mini?
But
We have on option to buy cobs for money. If you spend all day in a dungeon or digging resources of grinding champions you could get ~30g. So, it will only take 5 days to buy it (keep silent, that not… everyone is able to spend in game 5 full days, eh?). In other words, all came down again to the accumulation of money.
But the issue. How average grind is related to the event?

So that’s how you see your players, A-net? Killing monsters in one location 24 hour, 7 days a week nonstop to get something in memory of the event? Or engaged in their “usual grind” to buy it, or buy something on your trading company?
Against this background bag just looks like as mockery. Bag for 100-120 gold, or 15 days of grind? Omg, A-net, are you kidding? Fire the one who invented it.
You have added new ingredients, which are ONLY needed for a weapon that simply is not available to the average player. Because of sky-high prices and the amount of time needed to receive it. It is absurd.

To summarize: a sane person just can not get any memorable things from this event.

I love this game a lot more than any other. But even I think that the ammount of grind here goes beyond all possible boundaries. But less and less fun… Perhaps you should reward players for the fun things but not for the grind…

About minis as reward.
Very bad idea. Miniatures, as I recently realized – the most useless thing in this game. Look around you. How often do you see a person with a miniature nearby? I almost never. They look weird if it’s not a small animal pet. They would look good on the shelf, i thing, but not runing near you. They do not have any function. I mean.. well… you can not play with them as in wow, for exaple, can’t pet them or play ball, fool about… It’s just a thing, occupying a slot in your inventory and prohibits the use of the “deposit all” function.

In other words, the miniature – just highlighting a slot in a collectible box. Personally, I’m already more annoying of lack of certain “highlighted slots” in my bank than rejoiced of presence of others.
It not worth 150g, and especially 400hrs of life. I invite developers to think hard about ways minis are received and about Importing it to world exploration.

Where all sorts of nonsense, like.. donno helmet-pumpkin or pumpkin costume? Not town clothes for which you need to throw a lot of money and perhaps you will see it only once because of it’s useless. I mean the things that remind you that you took part in this event. Which you can please yourself and others? Armor skins, unique emotions, some items that can be activated. Like a table with snacks or pumpkins, which can be carved.

Back items.
You add cloaks and wonder why players complain about it? I’ll explain. Let’s say a person has one character. He just got a cloak from event. And bam! You add a new cloack for the new event. In other words, he must either buy a new stat cloak to use this skin on it, or cover the previous? Bu-u-ut… this cloak is unique. Now imagine that he already has 5 cloaks. They just lie in the bank… The problem is their disposability.

Some solution
All of event rewards must be in the form of unlock. So that the player could obtain copy at any time from the achievements window as like as with zenith weapons, for example. Thus you can add whole sets of armor piece by piece at different events. Fused armor, for example.

As you can see, one way or another, but still all problems of LW comes down to it temporality. I do not know why the developers had the idea that remove the content of the game is a good idea. No1 loves temporality in games.
This is worst.
Thing.
Ever.

Let’s see….
- The essence of life in its evolution, growth, moving forward. LW does not leave any impact. The world is changing only at the time of addon, after this it’s returning to its former state. Changes again for a while. Returns. As a result, for half a year that does not change. The world is not actually “living” but just “changing on some time”.

- Too many scattered storylines. They are weakly linked to each other. The developers are jumping from one scene to another. Sense of integrity lost. It’s difficult to find any information about the previous story phase even on the wiki. As a result, new players just do not know about any living “story”.

- Achievements like “gather / kill / visit the 100-200-500” and !time-bound! turn this game into a pure grind. Huge grind on limited time interests very small number of players. Normal player just will not waste time. Casual will scare and run out. Achievements should be temporary, same.

- A lot of players do not want to return, having missed one or another phase of LW. They feel that they missed something important and it’s hard to explain them that it’s was just a dozen achievements. Again: temporality in games is harmful.

- removed even content that could remain logically. For example Pavilion (we released it from Scarlet, right?). Dungeons and the whole location(!) of bazaar. Omg WHY?! I see a massive amount of time and resources spent to nowhere. It… repels.

Temporality – not the only problem. But the main. As long as LW temporary – it is bad.

So, let’s see. Last year it was 2 unique Halloween event battlegrounds. In this – only one. Last year, the world changed gradually (remember the fountain) and it was presented a bit more… bigger dungeon. Last year you could make special quest by world exploration for a unique back reward to any character. This year a one-time-per-acc storyline scene. Last year, the influx of candy corns was twice as much. This year you Need it twice as much. A kind of symbol of progress GW2. So what is prevailed after years of struggle? Fun or grind?

Speaking of realism, the greatswords in this game are huge. A piece of metal weighing 150 + pounds just impossable to keep on weight, so as do the male characters in this game. Therefore much more likely to argue that men are too strong, but not women are not strong enough.

Role-Playing and Interactivity

I do not quite understand why the developers ignore RP element. Games built around of role-playing aspect attracted great attention of the public (such as ArcheAge for example, or even such a strange thing like terraria). RP – it’s the kind of thing that can not be bad if it exists. It can only be sufficient. No one ever complains about the RP minigames, sandbox elements, musical instruments, abundance of animation and emotes, interactive environments, dialogues, etc. Their lack is evident at once.

I think developers should concentrate on the adding and polishing of RP-elements for a couple of months. Huge base of potential already available. I think it would attract more players than disposable story instances or extra 5 days of grind for another mini.

I remember that at the beginning of the game there were no lags. It all started with the introduction of fractals. First appeared culling. Along with it – lags. At first everyone thought that lags because of culling. Then A-net removed the culling, lags does not gone. They made a new options. Nothing has changed.

Ok. Now, what is the most logical to assume – A-net just allocated significant part capacities from WvW to fractals.

Dear developers. I would not want to offend or upset you … but … You are aiming to increase the popularity of WvW, right? By adding this season and achievements, you definitely attracted a lot of players to WvW. However, another question. Why?! Omg, WHY is this needed? Servers with difficulty held it even before. You think people do not go to WvW because of the lack of awards? They do not go because of 10 sec lags and queues for 2hrs. And you just made it worse. Why do you lure more players on WvW, if your servers is not designed for such quantities? Wait for 1.5 hours in order to see the lag for 2 minutes and teleporting players around, inability to use skills in a more or less serious battle… well … Perhaps you should start from the other side? I do not know … Anything. Increase the capacity of servers? Design a better system of queues and distribution. Limit the maximum number of players, at worst. Let people whine, let them complain though, but force them uniformly occupy the different servers. A N Y T H I N G.
For now everything is terrible.
Literally whole guild got crash from WvW drowning in the two-minute lag. It is no longer request, but a cry from the heart.
