Is this map like skyhammer where you can knockback/fear other players off cliffs to there certain doom?
Tried 1-4-1 was not possible, did 1-4 but then sickness of 2mins kept me out of doing 1 again…
A big problem with this event is above average players can’t do enough to make up for the below average players, so if we want success, after do it like Teq and Wurm and just do it in a specific guild/overflow and exclude casuals.

Warden 2 is perfect for any decent Ranger player.
As long as they know how to recall there pet, then resend on attack. Any half decent Ranger with the dps could solo that particular warden.
I am amazed how many fail warden 5, all you do is stack, dps that’s it…
I thought virtually all GW2 players knew that was pretty much the easiest way to defeat 80% of the content in Gw2…

In Europe it hard in overflow because you have different nationalitys speaking different languages.
Really, hard to plan anything when 1 group speaks English, another French, another German and some Spanish etc…
Again, you can’t do 2 – 5 – 2, because there’s only 1 lane between 5 and 2 (being lane 1). 2 – 5 – 3 would be a viable option.
You can do 2-5-2, I did it today in the 10am run…
At first it would not let me teleport in but sickness timer runs out and then you can. Still had plenty of time to dps Warden V (the split one) and watch other platforms fail…

After a portal phase, you get portal sickness which prevents you from entering another portal soon. With the current duration of portal sickness, you don’t skip 1 lane but 2 before you enter another portal. So, if you start in lane 1, you can enter a portal again when the event in lane 4 starts. There’s no use getting to lane 3.
Yes, I just found that out…
You can run a maxium of 3 wardens, I just ran 2—>5—>2, killed 2 out of 3 of those, just failed 1st was only 1 left standing and just ran out of time.
It does help a lot if you have runners who are willing to do upto 3 wardens if your short on numbers.
You only need about 10 defenders per lane to defend portal, so excess can run and help other lanes with wardens.
Okay, ideally you want 25 people per lane (125 players total for event), so each lane can field 5 players per platform vs the wardens, if they all teleport up.
However often you have less then that, so before the fight begins stack 25 in lane 1 and when its completed the warden I, 15 head to lane 3 straight away, then 5 etc…
So 65 players would look like this:-
Lane 1 25
Lane 2 10 (15 run from 5)
Lane 3 10 (15 run from 1)
Lane 4 10 (15 run from 2)
Lane 5 10 (15 run from 3)
Would that give you best chance of success with less numbers in the time limit? It has to be every other lane to give you time to get there and you sacrifice 2 and 4 1st time around unless you have some real heros…
For the OFs. So if u get pushed into an of the boss will spawn the same time you tried to join or enter the map to do him. This was first implemented on Teq. For bosses needing coordination accurate account for when he starts is very important. And Difficult bosses are most frequently complete in OFs.
I understand that for the Wurm & Teq because they are permanent and a lot harder than the Marrionette.
But it does not suit the temporary Marrionette at all…
The same time on all servers?
If they had staggered the times by 10 mins for each server. Then everyone could have run the Marrionette every 40 mins instead of 2 hours. Once on your server, 2 times on guest servers.
There are a lot of complaints about the 2 hour wait and this is a easy solution is it not?
I disagree with the OP. They are clearly very, very biased and just want warrior nerfed. This is my opinion of dominant/most useful classes:-

Hot Join PvP: Fairly equal mix, only a lack of Ele’s

Team PvP: Fairly equal mix, some awesome Ele’s
GvG: Fairly equal mix
WvW roaming: Thief

Yep living story is still temporary content largely, still people think they need to point this out in every thread on the forums.
No not at all…just being factual. I have done all the temporary content, so not bothered if it stays or goes…
I bolded ‘never’ because some players just don’t get that large amount of content is added and then taken away never to be introduced again.
That’s just how GW2 rolls…
If you leave, then you will miss stuff and not get the chance to do it ever again.

Warrior Longbow/Sword+Axe is fun.
Guardian Staff/Greatsword is also good.
You will get plenty of kills with both.
Warrior and Guardian are by far the most played of all the classes in WvW because they have the most survivability.
You could well end up dieing a lot as a Necro or Ele until you get more experience of WvW, stick to the ‘heavies’ well learning.

-Use all PvE gear/legendarys in WvW.
-Its NOT AT ALL BALANCED. Leave balance to PvP only. In WvW being OP is acceptable.
-Friends. Same players play day after day. You make friends. Excellent banter.
Dislikes:
– Currently uncompetitive points wise. I could tell you exactly all the servers who won the Gold/Siver/Bronze leagues before they started. I did btw way for Europe and I was 100% correct. Need handicap points system, to increase competition server vs server.
– Defending means nothing.
– Character bound ranks.
– Lack of rewards.
– Can not obtain all in game gear via doing just WvW.
– PvE content in WvW, I am looking at you toxic offshoots.
– Ruins. Absolutely lovely areas but pointless and completely ignored by most WvW players.
– Cheats/exploiting bugs.

Every single one should be reworked to be as hard as the Wurm is currently or even harder. Every Champion should have its health, toughness and damage doubled. Every veteran trebled.
In fact GW2 should go completely hardcore, so only the hardcore of the hardcore can play it! Basically, just those playing the Wurm now, all others can clear off and go play something else!

Its good to have some news, especially the next ‘Ready Up’ (livestream) is going to be about WvW.
However, AFAIK Josh a.k.a Grouch loves PvP and his interest seems to lie with PvP. How interested is he in WvW? AFAIK not at all…
I play both PvP and WvW. They are very, very different. Often what works well for one does not work so well in the other.

We’ll be talking about upcoming WvW stuff starting next week. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what we’ll be talking about quite yet, but I figured at the very least I’d give you folks a timeline to go off of.
As an aside, we’re also expanding our bi-weeky livestream (Ready Up) to cover WvW in addition to PvP and balance. WvW will be the main topic on our next episode (1/31). I’ll officially announce the stream with a post next week sometime.

We are awaiting news on:-
1) WXP being made account bound.
2) New WvW map that will mean no more queues (not that that’s much of a problem atm)
3) When Season 2 of WvW is.
Most are assuming we will get those in the ‘features’ patch around end of March/April.
You could however give us Season 2 of WvW in the meantime, it would keep us occupied. Also, a lot of WvW players are not interested in the living story and are not going to bother no matter what so a Season 2 of WvW won’t have any effect on Living Story in PvE.
Perhaps a few of the devs are helping out with China/Asia launch of GW2?

I would love separate MMR for each individual character on my account.
My skill level definitely varies depending on the class I play.
If separate MMR existed it would look like this for me:
Highest MMR :- Warrior, Guardian, Ranger.
Medium MMR :- Engineer, Thief, Necromancer, Mesmer.
Lowest MMR (by a long way) :- Elementalist.
Basically I am amongst the dregs of PvP playing Elementalist and any attempt by me to play this class will result in me going on a huge losing run. Well, I am decent to very, very strong with some of the other classes.
Ok so if we don’t care about Living Story we can just /afk for the next 6 weeks?
If you just do PvP or WvW then you can afk till 18th March without missing anything.
I think PvP and WvW populations will plummet in that time…

Yes I after agree 100%. Games used to revolve around you, now you wait for the game. 21st century progress I guess.
Anyway, one tactic that may help is if you got more than 1 character is put them at each starting point. One in Bloodcoast, one in Lorner’s Pass. Then instead of waiting, you can just log in to those every now and again see if you get lucky with boss event.
Meanwhile play alt 3…
The last Living Story update is 4th March.
That will last 2 weeks.
So your looking at the 18th March before the next balance update, unless they change there minds…
They also said something about a small break before balance patch comes out, so it could even be April.
Basically, don’t expect anything new in PvP until April and you won’t be disappointed, if they change there mind and we get something sooner then bonus…

A lot of players say that after a long’ish break they get awesome drops in there 1st week of returning.
Its possible the best way to get awesome drops is to not play for 6 to 18 months (in the OP’s case), would not surprise me if this was a ‘hidden’ mechanic in the game, ArenaNet do some crazy stuff…
It makes sense really, people who are not addicted to GW2 give them nothing…
Those who are not, give them something awesome and hope they get addicted.
To OP your not on your own, loads of players feel exactly the same way.
Well ArenaNet have started introducing more permanent content, they still feel the need for a lot of temporary content too. I can only assume its to keep players hooked, sell more gems etc…
I don’t see it changing ever.
Mesmers should be rated higher than Necro’s because of there utility:-
Portal, how many golem rushes can you have without portal? Also, how many keeps/sm’s has a Mesmer gained you by portaling an entire zerg over the wall?
Plus Time Warp, a few timed Time Warps half the time it takes to melt any door. Plus a well placed time warp in combat sure helps, 5 of your side with quickness for 10 secs.
Also you have the 1200 AoE stealth, invisible zerg surprises other zerg, result win.
Feedback is awesome, oh look at all those bow, staff, rifle, grenade dudes killing themselves.
A zerg can live without a Necro because they don’t bring anything special to the party. Well Mesmers certainly do.

Ie… 30 Necro’s with 6 minions each, so that would be a 180 strong minion army.
Could face off with 30 Rangers and there 150 spirits + 30 pets (and a another 30 to swap too)
It would probably make a amusing, funny youtube video.

It was done on JQ. The necro minions were melted and then we watched in horror as the class with no escapes tried to run away only to be quickly caught and killed.

Lololololol a ranger more useful then a nerco in a zerg hahahaha spirits are useless in a zerg that’s like say MM nerco is good for anything but PvD xD
I know its weird but 1 of those spirits gives a 10% damage bonus, thus negating the 10% crit nerf. Also with the Ranger count as 7 targets for enemy AoE and remember AoE has a 5 target limit. The combined hps of all the spirits/pets/Ranger is 200,000+ health, so massive damage sponge. Also the healing from the 2 healing spirits, my god the healing, its makes warrior healing signet look utterly pathetic…
Its a shame…
I love WvW but you do tend to feel its PvE no1, esports PvP no2 and that’s it.
WvW even through loads of GW2 players love it and has huge guilds dedicated to it, Anet view it as a after thought…
