I dont really see much difference as game is so easy to level.

And anyone who think ele is hard to level didnt really stopped for a bit and considered whats best for ele. After I did that it was most faceroll class i leveled (no, traits dont matter 1 bit) *hint – just go dagger/dagger/condition damage and watch everything melt away.
Same for thief, caltrops, caltrops, caltrops is all youll ever need, rest doesnt even matter, dagger/dagger 3 or dagger/pistol blind spam + caltrops ;P

They should just making a recipe were throwing an armor in the mystic forge with the ascended inscription/insigna of another stat, lets you choose between the 2 stats like legendary (but only with stats unlocked).

You would save 50% grind at least

@MikaHR when we bought the game it said we wouldn t have vertical progression, meaning that you are playing the wrong game and not us.

Uh oh, and yet we have Ascended items. Read my sig. Yes, thats how it should have been.

AH – you do, it is called crafted Exotics. That is all I use and I am very competitive. GW2 (and GW1 for that matter) is how well you play not how well you grind and gear up (others game do that WoW, RIFT, TERA – play them if you want that advantage). If you want the ‘leetness’ of Ascended or Legendary, then grind for them like the players who already had them put the work in for them and all you are doing is getting something for nothing…..

A lot of people have been telling ANet for over a year now that Ascended items were a mistake altogether.

Welcome to the club.

The money & time investment to acquire ascended gear is substantial enough to disallow automatically getting dups. You’re asking for free gear. Skins sure, that’s just cosmetic. But you want free ascended gear for alts. That’s a pretty heavy request.

Totally agree. You don’t need Ascended gear in anything other than Fractals.

If one wants ascended gear, put the work into get it. Others have and you would be diluting the work they did to make the gear.

Noone cares. Ive grinded so many obsolete gear in MMOs that if youre not used to this by now you should probably not play MMOs.

Ascended will be account bound. It seems you dont keep up with the news.

So, you’re getting an inch and you want the mile? This system has already been in the game with unlimited use harvesting tools. They aren’t going to make ascended stats available across characters just because it is so HARD to unequip and bank them.

When Ascended items are in question even 1000 miles are not enough.

Ok. Account bound. So whenever i want item on another character i need to log out/in, use bank…

Why couldnt have it been dealt like wardrobe, where you would have empty spot for each ascended item, and once you craft certain ascended item, spot gets filled and you can take that ascended item with any character on the account, just like skin from wardrobe, differece to wardrobe is that it would be statted, you take complete item, not just skin.

RNG and Grind in GW2 is not that bad

[snip…]
World of Warcraft (WoW) a subscription based MMORPG that makes you spend weeks to months performing raids to get best-in-slot gear. This is repeated often for new best-in-slot gear is added often. During these raids it is not guaranteed that you will get the piece you need. Some raids you can only perform once a week making you wait for another chance (hence chance) at getting the piece you need. To get other items in the game you need to compete with other players (as drops are not shared between the players) to grind to get items since drop rates are low to force you to grind.
[snip…]

WoW is comparatively mild in terms of grind compared to GW2. And, I have actually come to prefer a short/steep grind to a long/slow one. Only people who are heroic raiders grind to BiS, and realistically there is no need for it if you aren’t playing at the top of the game. Over the years I have learned that it takes about 1-2 months to gear up a main and my alts, PvE and PvP, to a level where I am comfortable and powerful. After that short grind I am free to do whatever I want for the remainder of the tier. I can actually relax and play the game my way. They have even created an island where you can gain ~100 item levels if you wish and be prepared to enjoy the final raids at a level you are comfortable wish. They have invested in making the process quick and easy.

Contrast this to GW2’s long, slow grind. My main character has trinkets only because I don’t want to grind out the weapon’s or coming pieces. I don’t want to because of the nature of the grind. I especially don’t want to level crafting (think about how expensive it is) just to be able to craft an item. The cost is too much in terms of grind and currency. And, my alts? Forget about ever getting them anywhere near ascended. That grind would be in the years not months.

No, WoW is extremely mild compared to GW2 in terms of grind. I am a staunch opponent of vertical progression, but can tell you honestly that if you are going to have it, quick and steep is the way to go…much less painful.

people kinda think of WoW or EQ from begining of the century lol.

WoW now has what, 4-5 (kinda stopped counting) incarnations of same raid and you can see all content in “greens” if you want to (and all the similar games have done so).

Compared to grind in GW2, WoW/SWTOR/Rift/LOTRO…. …. …. are puppy love, i could get all BiS gear on all characters in all those game before i could get 1 character geared in GW2 lol. Not to mention alts…:)

Yah, its not THE worst of the worst of Korean grinders, but that really kinda puts it nicely in perspective

Just because some games have even worse designers doesn’t make the rng and grind in gw2 acceptable…. It just means it’s not the worst contender. Also GW2 is aimed for a us/eu audience, the audiences who least enjoy long terrible grinds.

GW2 was supposed to launch in the east last fall. It was preparing for that.

But since NCSoft put that on hold INDEFINATELY we get CDIs so they try to repair damage theyve done to their game in the west.

Its funny really. It could have been a wonderful game.

This is the same mechanic of any korean F2P mmorpg, release ubergrinding stuff and then plan easier way to acquire it later when most people will already had to grind it…

I personally can t convince myself to believe they didn t read in the past all suggestion on dungeon tokens and then suddenly they consider it…

Its suits to well as a mean to gain time and just going the usual korean grinding f2p….
With the last 2 thing added and what we seen in dev fotm video we got the last 2 ingredients of any korean f2p

Infusions +X (with added stats) and gem shop upgrade extractor…

Tell me Granado espada is not the same as GW2…tell me lineage is different…
It got almost identical….

I bet if i go today on lineage 2 most lvl old top tier weapons are really easy to acquire…..

Its fantastic and great to have this CDI topic…but if facts goes in the opposite way i can t really give anet any trust…they already betrayed it on a regular base.

I think this whole topic sprung out of fact that GW2 is on indefinite hold to release in the east by NCSoft.

So they have to figure out how to get their western audience back. It doesnt really make sense that you actually release ascended armor and almost immediately make CDI thread "What can we do to make whole “ascended experience” better"?

So with ANet and GW2 i developed “dont believe anything until its ingame” attitude. I gave a lot of feedback few months back and i just feel as this whole thread is just a rehash of what a lot of people (that dont play the game any more) have been saying for whole past year. I guess i will check back at GW2 and this topic in a few months to see if they actually did something about it.

Well, these are things that would (probably) bring me back to GW2:

- Every ascended piece made has swappable stats (like legendary weapon) without any added “complication” to it, you craft it like now and thats it
- Assurance ascended is the FINAL tier
- Assurance there will be no level cap raise tha will obsolete all the gear ( that took, well the amount of time it takes to get ascended set)
- ALL materials available anywhere in the gameworld and absolutely not how it is at the moment. If today i feel like going to /random 45/50 area doing (mostly) /random stuff (collect mats, doing DEs, exploring) i should be able to get same amount of mats as doing champ train/farming metas/karma train…
- and finally actual introduction of horizontal progression

A lot of people I know have been pretty outraged that you have to craft to get one and then the cost of crafting is kittenedly high. Thus has become a cheap Asian P2Win game similar to perfect world.

It is releasing in the east, and they need fully specced Korean grinder for that.

Only a tiny minority actually asked for a new tier of gear, and they were shouted down almost instantly. There were groups asking for things, that’s true (the majority of those people asked for mounts, holy trinity and raids, actually). Funny thing, most of those players have left long ago.

Saying that “we asked for it” is very, very far from truth.

No, just stop that.
I was here in September and October, the majority of this community threatened to quit if they weren’t getting a treadmill.

Gear treadmill was around no.852 on the list of complaints.

Here’s what’s funny about Ascended Gear: Builds are heavily influenced by your gear in GW2. (As opposed to GW1… Funny huh?) Crafting an Ascended Weapon (and Coming Soon! Ascended Armor!) commits yourself to one build.

Did I mention Ascended Gear is useless? The stat increase is not useful anywhere, except to defeat content that does not require it. Gear in PvE is only as valuable as it is useful.

Finally, the way they handled Agony Resistence is ridiculous. It was meant to be a form of progression for Fractals of the Mists, but now you can attain more Resistance via Guild Missions and now Ascended Crafting. How does it make any sense that players progress through Fractals of the Mist by not doing Fractals? It is completely dysfunctional progression.

Because it was rushed extremely poorly handled matter.

And now, almost year later its still rushed extremely poorly handled matter.

I’ve heard the very same thing said about every successful game when someone complained about it, including WoW.

I used to complain about WoW and my friend would say, take it for what it is. It’s such a natural response.

Are you suggesting that WoW is failing because someone said that about WoW?

Guild Wars 2 isn’t other games. It’s what it is. Some people like what it is. If ENOUGH people like what it is, it will be successful. Of course those people who like it are going to say take it as it is…not because it’s mediocre, but because they don’t want the changes you want.

Nope, “take it for what it is” is exuse for mediocrity rofl

Ooooh, they said plenty of something like ascended not existing in GW2 pre launch.

Yet here we are, them turning 180 2 months after launch.

And si that was ONLY gap to fill….yah, filling non-existing gaps doesnt make any sense. Yah, sorry if filling non existing gaps but widening existing ones doesnt make any sense.

And here you are, ten months after two months after launch still trying to turn people against the game. Those that don’t like it have left. And some of those that stay around to complain are simply here to stir the pot.

And why do you care?

You’re clearly here to malign the game. You don’t like the game, you don’t play the game. You’re not interested in anything except something that was changed ten months ago.

Those playing the game, are talking about stuff that is pertinent to the game as it stands.

It’s lovely that you want to quote quotes that are years old, advertising them as if they were carved in granite…but you know…stuff changes in MMOs. People who don’t like the changes leave, people who like them stay…it’s like every MMO in that way.

You don’t like the changes…fair enough. But what you actually do is sabotage every thread with this continual negativity, none of which is actually constructive. I’d be much happier to see constructive criticism instead of a stream of single line pot shots at a game you’re no longer interested in (considering you say there are better games out there).

No one says anyone should love or like this game. But heckling anyone with a different opinion isn’t constructive.

And I don’t really care, but I do have some time to kill (which unfortunately ends now, so I won’t be able to reply to your response).

Ahhh, so indeed you have more interest in these forums than the game itself.

Thank you

Skill based stuff is coming. They’ve been testing the waters with things like Liadri. As for the grind, yes, sadly, that’s what many players want. If you have any suggestions for A-net,I’m sure they’d love to hear them in the suggestion forum.

snip

Well, sort of. Keep in mind that ascended will be the last teir A-net implements forever (at least for years). In addition, you’re not being forced to get this stuff, unless you want to do high lvled fractals or WvW. Because of this, you can go at your own pace — there is no need to grind. That’s what I’ve been doing since launch, and I’m only a precursor and a few T6 mats away from Frostfang. I’ve only really grinded once or twice, and that was because I felt like doing so. Personally, I’m going to take my time getting ascended weapons, and only work on them as I have the resources to do so.

Really? You work for ANet or sumeing?

They said you wont get new tier….THIS YEAR. Next..probably, eithr that or level cap raise to obsolete all your gear.

Of course, there will also be new infusions, infusions are at blue tier so quite a bit of room for grind there and sigils/runes, and then some more infusions.

Enjoy, because from now on most of your time will be spent by chasing ever bigger and bigger stats.

aka gear tradmill.

No, I don’t work for A-net; I’m simply understanding. A-net said they wouldn’t be implementing a new tier because they didn’t think they had to. However, as was stated by them, they felt the need to because the gap between exotics and legendaries was too crazy big — so they decided to fill that gap. I do believe they also said they had the intent to have ascended in the game from the start originally, but for whatever reason decided against it — until they ran into this problem. Now that the gap has been filled, there is no reason to add more.

On another topic, you say you are worried about infusions growing more diverse & expensive. While I never thought of this before, I doubt it will happen.

I don’t know if you read what I said, but I said I don’t really “chase” after anything — especially stats. That’s the reason I got GW2. I know you’re worried, but there’s no reason to be paranoid. A-net doesn’t want to turn this game into a gear treadmill any more than you do. The grind for these items was mostly implemented to fill the progression gap, not to start a treadmill.

So stop worrying you silly goose.

Theres already gear treadmill. I dont know what have you been doing lately.

They even said there will be gear treadmill, you are getting new gear to grind every few months and that wont stop.

Ascended WIDENED the gap between exotic and legendary since it uses same resources.

And new tier can appear as easy as ascended did, but they will make you grind so much with ascended (and infusions) that indeed level cap raise will most likely come first. But theres always possibility of new tier especially if they are late with expansion – bam – new tier that makes you grind launch content ad nasueum just like ascended does.

No worries at all, kinda GW2 is 99,9% of my radar since if i want what they decided to offer there are plenty of games that do it much much better.

There aren’t any games that do it much much better. There are games you BELIEVE do it much much better. You state it as a fact, but it’s only your opinion.

And since I haven’t agreed with a single opinion of yours (not one), I don’t believe any of the games you think do it better actually do it better.

Of course since objectivity is just not your thing but ignorance is da shyte.

I’m not sure you’d know objectivity if it bit you in the ankle. I’ve said some bad things about Guild Wars 2…I haven’t seen you say anything good.

Post history says it all.

I hope ur right about that. Ive suggested many things but anet doesnt listen. the best way to have dealt with ascended armour was to give them the same stats as exotics but just give them a few infusion slots. this will not force ppl to get ascended items if they do not want to do fractals and will allow those who want to max/farm fractals to do so. gw2 was a mmo where u can get to max lvl gear urself out in exotic and take a 4 months break if u wanted, then come back and not be behind anyone. ascended items ruined that, and by the looks of it kitten is going to be expensive which = more grind grind grind grind and GRIND!

I mean… I get what they wanted to do. And sure, it’d be wonderful if players WOULD spread out and explore rather than power through and camp.

But that’s simply NOT what MMO players do… and they never really have. Expecting them to do differently in this case was fairly foolish. They were going to race to 80, hit Orr, see one dungeon… be told to look back, and then they were going to say, “kitten that.”

Wrong. WoW crownd never does that because they have been conditioned for YEARS not to do that, even 1 WoW dev recently whined about it, hell what did he expect.

And GW2 wasnt really aimed at WoW crowd (you know, we are completely different line that they threw out that much) until 2 months in. Now its pretty much kitten WoW with most of bad parts and very few good ones.

I guess at least WoW crowd will have fun…for a short while…until next WoW clone/WoW expansion releases.

It’s like people who have a vegetable garden. They can get there food in the store but most do it because they think it’s fun.. then again they plant vegetable plants because they like the reward (vegetables) not perse the planting itself. Thats becomes fun because of the reward.

Wrong, most people who have hobby gardens/orchards/vineyards do it because they enjoy growing it and what they get out of it is just a bonus. They surely are not focused on max yield/hectar or meter square (or w/e) or that industrial production gets 3/4 times more yield that they do. In the end they give lot (in some cases most)of it away or merely for simbolic price.

Rewards in this case are almost completely intrisic and come out of enjoyment of the process. And yes, they repeat it from year to year no matter the “rewards” they get out of it.

Then why don’t they plant ugly plants but always nice flowers or vegetables? It’s that reward part that is helping to make the planting itself fun. They would most likely not be very willing to do the same if they where only allowed to plant ugly and useless plants. Think about it.

RUSerious?

My grandfather had a vineyard but didnt drink any wine AT ALL.

He pretty much gave all 1000-1500 l of wine he made away.

In WoW people farmed bosses for mini’s and never use them. Whats your point here? There is still the reward. Yes I am serious.

Did they gave away or destroyed their minis when they got them? And then grind away for another one?

They didnt grind because they enjoyed grinding. They wanted the mini.

You have problem with understanding intrisic/extrinsic values.

I think thinks are more mixed then you think. I never said the reward was the only reason but an important part of it. Making whine it fun but is caring for the plants just as much fun? When somebody makes whine there are multiple thinks he does for that and the parts that are ‘less’ fun and you would not just do for nothing become more fun because of the reward.

But anyway believe it or not. I did do some thinks in other games just to get one of those mini’s and I had fun doing it. But doing it without the reward would make it not fun at all.

lol

you either have fun doing something or you dont.

Getting pin at the end doesnt suddenly make something not fun fun. Those are mutually exclusive.

So you did it for the reward and if theres no reward you wont do it. So basically you will do anything no matter how boring/tedious is just to get the reward AND you will skip something fun just because theres no reward at the end.

That all is definitely ArenaNet’s fault.

If players are running a champ train twelve hours a day, it’s ArenaNet’s fault. If they’re farming Orr, ArenaNet’s fault. Players go where the game tells them to go, that’s simply the nature of any game. If having fun in the game requires playing against the game, that is definitely ArenaNet’s fault.

Yup, i really love how it eventually turns “but its player’s fault”

No it isnt, unless your premise is that somehow ANet doesnt have control over their game.

But its all water under the bridge now, they implemented gear treadmill, very bad gear treadmill which most other games do much much better, and decided to follow WoW and its clones with game that want even designed for it. It certanly isnt what they advertised back at launch.

Yes, if you give freedom to players you loose control of it yourself. The game was designed so that anyone can play the game anyway they wish. At launch absolutely everything in game (except for the dungeon skins) could be acquired playing anywhere in the game. Free to play anywhere in the game also means you’re free to farm orr non stop 24/7.

A lot of the issues people have with Gw2 come because of too much freedom. Seems player have trouble enjoying themselves without being forced in a particular play style they are just incapable of choosing it for themselves.

Except that the reward system is hopelessly screwed up. It’s not any more or less challenging to kill a trash mob alone than it is to kill champions in a champion farm, but champion farming gives a much higher reward. It’s like ANet is paying us to do stuff we don’t otherwise want to do.

I think that champion rewards need to be balanced with the rest of the content. Sure there should be an upside to doing it, but there shouldn’t be such an upside that every feels like they have to champion farm.

.

Dont worry, his post is pretty ridiculous. ANet made the game the way they made it, it pretty much said “go there farm that or get nothing at all” and then comes Galen along talking about freedom rofl

How long it took them to even make possible to get on level/rare/exotic loot drops on a bit lower level zones?

So, it will be EXACTLY like it was with exotic-legendary except with 1 of most pointless tiers of gear in MMO ever.

You DO need THAT tier for fractals. duh

And by raising power cap you will eventually need it for other stuff.

Yes, it was a nod to those the hollered, and loudly, for more gear grind. For some it will be pointless, not for all. For some, it will be the stepping stone anet claims its supposed to be, to bridge the time gap between easily obtainable exotics, and longer term legendaries. It’s all perspective.

You need _some_of the tier for fractals. As people have already shown, you can do the higher fractals with exotic armor and weapons, with only ascended trinkets. Something they have been doing for months now. Adding in the weapon simply makes it easier because they can get more AR and some additional damage output. There will be those that desire the challenge of doing it without the upgraded weapon, just as there will be those that feel they can’t do it without. The exception here is Maw, where agony neither caps nor functions quite like other fractals. Outside this, it is simply perspective differences is all.

Yes, the higher stat cap potentially means we may need it later on. Down the road. In the future. At some expansion point. It does not mean we need it right now. Of course, anet could add harder content at a later time, that recommends ascended, and people still do it in exotic. It all depends on whether anet falls into the gear gating trap of other games. At this point, they haven’t, with the single solitary exception of fractals which appeals to a very specific subset of players.

You don’t have to be a kitten in your response. Can you not have a civil conversation with those you don’t agree with, or do you simply lack manners in general?

Except there already is a gear gated content.

They have a gear treadmill, they may as well go whole way to actually be competitive with other titles.

Every game has a treadmill, per se. It depends on how it’s implemented, how steep, and what it affects that makes the difference. Even GW1 had it, it was small and shallow, extremely simple and top tier was (as so many other gamer’s put it) laughable easy to obtain, but that’s ok. It worked with how the game was designed, and many of us preferred it.

As I’ve been saying, had GW2 launched with Ascended, we wouldn’t have anywhere near the kittening we have now simply because people would have aimed for it at the get go, rather than getting fully geared in exotics as fast as they absolutely could and then shouted ‘gimme gimme gimme.’ Had we launched with it, time gating and all, people would have worked to get ascended (which would have taken longer) and the shouting gimme gimme gimme would have been waylaid some. Perhaps enough that LS could have gotten rolling before people got too bored. However, with people shouting ‘more grind’ ‘more gear’ ‘more content’ they had to do something. We are as much to blame as anet is.

Still, while I do not like the potential precedent that ascended sets, so long as they do not add any more tiers I can accept this one. At this point, this tier is unnecessary to obtain unless you absolutely ‘must have’ bis right this very minute. There is no content barred to me because I do not have it. Even high level fractals are doable in exotic gear, with exotic weapons, and only the AR from the trinkets (which you get just from doing the fractals anyway)….people have been doing it right up to this point.

Honestly though, I think they would have been better off to simply have added the infusion slots to existing exotics, and then made the infusions the hard things to obtain. Still, that is neither here nor there, as it is not the path they chose.

If GW2 launched with instanced raids and full gear treadmill they wouldnt talk 5 years of not having it.

Fact is that that it didnt AND game became fastest selling MMO of all times based on something they turned their backs on 2 months after launch, probably chasing extra profit. Not the first or last company that did that, but most of those who did it ended with short end of the stick.

Now here is my question that i would like to pose to all those who enjoy ascended armor and for the kind kind anet devs.
what is the point of ascended armor?
now ascended weapons were created (based off of anet’s logic) to bridge the gap between exotics and legendary.
however, there was no gap between exotics and legendarys in terms of stats only in looks. Ascended weapons on the other hand have better stats but worse looks than both legendarys and exotics. It was really just a reason to put in weapons that took people longer to get so that those grinding hamsters would have something to do.

Now for ascended armor. There is no legendary to make the excuse of bridging the gap and the armor looks terrible anyways. This armor is almost a game breaker for me. I thought anet would have looked at all the complaints and the arguing about ascended weapons and realize people didnt want ascended armor…especially not so soon. This will of course not be taken out of the game once it is released so i plead anet and other players like me who dont want grind but want fun to try and change this direction they have taken.

They were referring to the time gap between how long it takes to get exotics and how long it (theoretically) takes to get a legendary.

You are correct that originally (as far as we knew) legendaries were limited to weapons (probably why they opted to roll out craftable ascended weapons first). Now though, they are talking ‘full’ legendary sets…. weapons, armor, trinkets. Which theoretically will take forever and a day to obtain for average players. (Not saying this is a bad thing, always good to have goals). Having the ascended tier between acts like a stepping stone of sorts, if you choose to build those legendary pieces. (And why wouldn’t you with free stat swapping?) Of course, if you opt to stop at ascended, you’re not really out anything either…

Edit: And additionally, there will be those that never opt to get Ascended either. For them, exotics are more than enough. There is nothing in the game that says we ‘must have’ that tier, except other players. Now, should they add elite content, this may change since having BiS would be advantageous at that point.

So, it will be EXACTLY like it was with exotic-legendary except with 1 of most pointless tiers of gear in MMO ever.

You DO need THAT tier for fractals. duh

And by raising power cap you will eventually need it for other stuff.

Also as far as bridging the gap, they meant in effort, time, and energy spent in gathering the items, not the stats.

Like, it would take you 100 days to get legendary before, but now it takes you 120 days.

Its actually WIDENING the gap. Bridging the gap would be….using ascended weapon for precursor.

The view on the forums is likely to be skewed towards a “no don’t bother” answer.

Maybe, just maybe, there is a reason why the boards are leaning in that direction.

Its because the majority of the people who like it are playing it so yes i agree there is a reason .

Yah, same exact line that was repeated while AAA MMOs couldnt keep enough players to sustain P2P model, went F2P and layed off half of their staff.

Same line that was said when WoW lost 5 million players.

Carry on.

Depends on which MMO. You actually make more money in a F2P model than a P2P, but initially going P2P is a good way to take back some of the money you invested to make the game from the initial rush of new players, so a lot of MMOs start with a P2P them go F2P.

You need less people to keep developing content for a game than to make a game, so of course you get a lot of layoffs.

Yes, im sure all those planned on losing 80-90% of their players, going F2P and laying off half of their core staff. oh wait…no they didnt.

Blizzard said WoW will evetually go F2P. Do you know when? WHEN THEY LOSE ENOUGH PLAYERS SO ITS ACTUALLY MORE MONEY.

One thing i assure you: all thos games would still be P2P if they could keep ENOUGH players, but they couldnt.

And posts like Adines surely didnt help all those games keep players. Players that bought a box and WERE WILLING to pay sub.

My theory now is also that we next get instanced raiding because so much people now asked for it because of Tequatl, even since before very much people were strictly against that. But now ANet could say : hey .. you asked for that.

Well, Mike Z, Colin, and Chris W have said that the GW2 raiding would not be like traditional raiding. So Tequatl may have been anet’s answer to the raid request (no on has said definitively), which, for people requesting raiding, should still be very doable for them. They just get a couple of people with commander tags, and squad up to take him on.

We may get instanced raiding, they may give in to it if people holler loudly, but I don’t think so at this point. Colin has stated that they don’t want to do a whole lot of instanced content, because of how it divides the player base. (Thus why we’ve been told no HM for dungeons) Honestly, I like the Tequatl changes (mind you, I still aint beat him). I’m looking forward to them making such changes to all of the world bosses. But as for not wanted to do instancing… could always change. Just give me my heroes back, and I’ll be perfectly fine with it.

They have a gear treadmill, they may as well go whole way to actually be competitive with other titles.

“You can get 100 gold in a day or so….”

Really, please tell, it’s taken me since beta to get to 500 gold.

First of all you have to actually play.

That out of the way.

Mega bosses, hit them all or at least the popular ones…. wont take you long maybe a half an hour.

Hit up temple fights in orr.

You generally net several rares that way and sometimes exotics. As well as money.

Run a few Paths, your pick. Generally get around 2 gold for a path.

Craft your daily 500 crafts, they sell for over 4-5 gold.

Run around and grab your ori, and ancient nodes.

Craft some ori inscriptions, sell for around 8-9 gold.

Farm champs for awhile. They net alot of T6 mats that sell for a good amount and you often get 10 in a bag.

Theres alot more there to do but those are the most straight forward really.

But like I said you have to actually play.

OMG, list of BORE is here!

Not to mention you did that SAME stuff for more than a year now rofl

I never actually played MMO that made you do stuff >1 year old to get new stuff.

And they wonder why people leave the game hihihihi

The biggest ones are tarnished coast, blackgate, jade quarry and a few others I can’t recall right now. But unless you’re interested in WvW you could always guest. Deleting 4 80s is a bit drastic in my opinion, well it depends on whats worth more in your opinion, time or money.

It is drastic, but pretty much the whole reason I’m transferring is because I can’t find people in PvE, nor can I find them in WvW because nobody does WvW on my server. I thought about farming the 100+ gold I need to transfer, but I just don’t think it’s worth it.

what the hell!?It cost 100+gold just for a transfer? To think it used to be free.

and thank goodness it is not free. It was so bad for the health of the game when it was free. To note, it has been known since before release that world transfers were not going to be free for long, and that it was only free while they continued working on the guesting system, and to let the players to settle to where they want to be.

Seems like gw2 is the only game with issues with free world transfer :/.

Yet the vast majority of the MMOs that I can think of charge you to move to other servers

Yes its GW2

So tell me, list the MMOs that do not charge to server transfer?

My list of MMOs that I can think of off the top of my head that charge for server transfers:
WoW
Lotro
Tera
SWTOR
Age of Conan
Secret World
Warhammer Online
Aion

I can go on with more, but you get the idea. It is not “only” GW2 that charges for server transfers. I have played many many MMOs since 1999, and I have not played one yet that didn’t charge for server transfers.

You havent played Rift then.

Just because you played limited MMOs doesnt mean ALL of them are limited to what limited MMOs you played.
