anyone know how do I unlink the authenticator if i lost my secret code?? I’ve already contacted support but they’re not replying

Which authenticator are you using, if it’s the mobile one, you actually just need to enter 2 codes from the mobile auth. Get one, wait for it to refresh enter that one, and click unlink it will work.

My only concern on the pet is… it’s large, do we really want to have a ton of these running around?

i dont play engi hardly ever but from what i know turrets dont disapear if he is in downed state so engi already has a kind of “passive” downed mechanic

I wouldn’t count something he puts up while not downed, as part of his “downed” mechanic. Especially something that isn’t going to be in every build. If it’s part of your downed state fighting it needs to be available when downed.

Stop lying. Many LFG have gear checks and stacking is rampant. Unless you have someone put an LFG “No stacking, no skipping”
I have to do my own LFG for dungeons. Because most are “zerker level 80 AP 10k/5k EXP Ping gear”
Not all are like that, but the majority are.

Stacking is pretty common, stated in the listing or not. Of all the things you listed from my experience zerker is the only one that is actually common… The AP thresholds you are describing seem pretty blown out of proportion. I’ve only seen one listing for more then 6k AP in all my time playing and I have never seen a group requiring 10k. Ping gear is also not that common, I might see it once or twice a day at most.

The most common listings are… 80 exp or 80 exp zerk + what ever path. Saying the majority of listings are asking for 5-10kAP and pinging gear is a massive exaggeration.

Gw2 is actually very well done in many ways, and it definitely feels like a complete game… If you want incomplete on release try Destiny… All your points of “incomplete” are opinion, and have been answered in other posts, and information in the past. but heres a quick wrap up.

1.) Release crafting cap was 400, when ascended weapons and armor were added the cap was raise to 500. It’s not “incomplete”
2.) Great swords have 3… 2 individual one that is just made by combining the other two and some cheap junk… Also intended not “incomplete”
3.)Melee dps is higher, ranged dps is safer in some fights. That’s the trade off.
4.) Just use the AH, A-net has stated the reasoning behind no trading many times.
5.) Join one of your guild members parties; right click there icon; join in

The lack of damage meter is a WONDERFUL thing. Many players are happy without one, and GW2 is not like “most other” mmos.

I don’t think the “flow” matters in this request, OP is asking for any prof to be able to use any weight type with only that weight type. So it wouldn’t be mix and match, it would be if you go with heavy armor it all has to be heavy armor skins.

1.) Not a big fan of this, I like having different armor sets that look different. Not just RP switching but for playing as well.

2.) Again this would only be useful if option 1 were put into place, having costume slots would probably hurt the trans charges sales more then A-net would make from the occasional costume slot buy.

3.)I love the idea of being able to pick between heavy, medium, or light armor sets for ward robe graphics, but the amount of work what you are describing would take… It definitely won’t happen befor hot, probably wouldn’t happen after as it would be a pretty large job.

They may be common in a console rpg, but GW2 isn’t a console RPG.

What other issues do you have with it?

The power is not a factor; You can get a power infusion that will fit in either slot.

The 1% is lacklusterl 1% damage vs NPCs is not going to be the deciding factor in wvw fighting other players.

I’m guessing cost isn’t an issue;

Hell, even rereleasing the selectable stats trinket for like 200 gold would be fine for me.

Disagreeing with your opinion and talking about it, is not manipulation. It’s also not being closed minded. Once again, what is the “crucial” problem you have?

Right but I you didn’t answer my question.

If the infusion stat gain is the issue, the ONLY stat gain do not have access to is the 1% damage vs guards, lords, and supervisors.

“So is that 1% vs guards, lords, and supervisors is really crucial to your ability to win against other players?”

This nitpicking attempt of a manipulation argument. I said there were some easy fixes, like releasing some versatile wvw infusions. Obviously reworking infusions takes way more time, but there are also easy fixes, like, as I said allready more than three times, releasing versatile wvw infusions.

I was responding to YOUR suggested ideas. I’m neither nitpicking or manipulating anything. Please keep the discussion focused on the topic, not on other peoples statements. If you want to post suggestions, expect people to discuss them, or discuss the ones that they disagree with or really like. A-net doesn’t just release items on the fly without testing/checking them and the impact on balance (both economic and power) they will have.

No. That’s why I said they would be double the price. And the selection would obviously only be a one-timer.

Even at double the price…. that’s hardly even a speed bump for many people, for those that REALLY care about the 5 points from the infusion, I wouldn’t even call it a speed bump.

Wrong. I am just baffled that someone can think one person doing more damage than another although both maxed out their character damage as much as they could, using the same class, traits and builds, could be in any way fair and competitive. Just baffled.

Wvw isn’t intended to be 100% fair, Even if you talk about 2 players each with maxed out characters, 5 power is NOT going to be a huge game changer. So on this one I disagree with both you and Randy: It is a 5 power difference, which is something. It is a 5 power difference, which is hardly a crucial game changing difference.

The “rareness” of an item that was removed due to game changes is pretty common. A-net let people who have it choose new stats, which was the right move. Then simply removing a set of rings that has no stat value from the drop-tables also makes perfect sense.

Turning them back on would probably be cheap, though not really ideal. As rings with a selectable stat would be better then just about ANY other ring (not that most people need rings). Reworking infusions would not be a cheap fix.

Congrats it’s always fun to meet fellow vets! I’ve been here since the headstart (not really sure why this matters when talking about this subject). Of course no one could tell that might be useful, at release no one could tell that ALL magic find would be moved to the account and removed from most items. No one new that exotic weapons and armor would be out classed by ascended, legendary weapons would be acct bound and the skins made useable on multiple weapons at once, etc etc etc…

It was unintentional and has almost no impact on overall game play. I wouldn’t expect to see it changed any time soon.

It’s not 100% fair, but it’s how things like this tend to go, people who have been playing longer usually have the rare/changed etc items.

Legendaries..

Miku.6297

if anything with legendaries needs to change it should remove dungeon tokens. With everyone asking for experienced zerker gear its hard to get a run especially when dungeons are all u need for legendary. Also PvP tracks dont provide u with enough tokens for a legendary

It takes 500 dungeon tokens… That’s roughly 8 runs… 8 × 60 = 480 + misc bag tokens… Even if you get no bags it would take no more then 9 dungeon runs. You can run any or all of the three explorable paths, each day. The dungeon tokens are one of the least grindy and easy parts about making a legendary.

The sigil thing I do agree with, a big part of the legendary weapons is the stat switching, if you use zerker sigils, then switch your weapon and gear for condi it would be super nice to be able to switch the sigil to match.

“literally NO other legendary” requires 2 other legendaries as an ingredient.

until other legendaries starts requiring 2 gifts of mastery/fortune/precursors, I’m not sure why there is such sour grapes for eternity granting you twilight/sunrise skins seeing as they’re basically just way more expensive versions of precursors.

Sour grapes? I have Eternity, and I really don’t mind it being sold, I’m simply agreeing with the OP: It’s odd to give access to a legendary weapon skin or in this case 2 skins, then let you combine/sell them to recoup a large amount of gold while maintaining the skins.

Though that’s an interesting idea, about the two gifts, two precs etc. If you follow it through you could make bolt and incinerator… (roughly the same cost as twil/sun) Then you could sell them to recoup a large portion of your gold (same as eternity) but you wouldn’t keep any legendary skins.

If my post came off as irritated it wasn’t meant to.

What I’d like for legendary-ish armor… Complete a long set of the new adventures for each piece, each piece can be mystic forged with an ascended armor piece of the same type, some ectos and an anth to allow it to switch between those stats. You can keep adding more stat choices to it as you go. All the stat switching goodness, a little less grindy.

Any way back on topic, my biggest problem with the OPs suggestion is the whole vertical vs horizontal progression thing.

Why you play PVE?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Miku.6297

Miku.6297

Well I CAN’T do WvW right now, and I’ll explain why.

You can, you choose not to because you don’t like the current event choosing not to and “CAN’T” are not the same thing. If wvw was brought offline or down then “CAN’T” would be accurate.

I also wasn’t talking about PvP players. I only mentioned “PvP” when I talked about making PvE maps “PvP-able”, in which I meant making PvE maps player-versus-player-able. It had nothing to do with sPvP.

Wait what? Sorry I seriously don’t follow this at all. I was simply trying to point out saying “pvp” when complaining strictly about the wvw isn’t a good word choice, because S-pvp also exists, if pvpers want to pvp they can do it in either place.

I respect the point you’re trying to make, but I don’t think it’s completely on the mark. Currently, gear becomes obsolete so fast that it’s a waste of time even paying much attention to it. If there were fewer levels, you’d want to pay more attention to it because the time you invested in it would net better results. It’s important to note that they wouldn’t necessarily be stuck wearing gear longer, they would just have the option of wearing gear for longer. They could still replace it as much as they wanted as new gear would still drop often.

I guess I really don’t see how doubling the time to level would increase the use for lower level gear, it would still be looked at as throw away when I out grow it gear. As long as there is a leveling system that’s going to be the case.

I was saying they would be stuck wearing it, because what if they didn’t get a drop? They have to stick with the lower level, gear for longer… Either that or buy it on the TP or you are forced to craft it yourself.

I guess what I’m saying is over all adjusting the level cap wouldn’t have a significant impact on this.

Also as for “testing” builds wouldn’t doing something like this require a rework of the recently reworked hero point system? (Sorry I havent leveled up a char in this new system)

Miku.6297

I actually think the answers to both of your questions are a matter of common sense. It all has to do with how quickly you outlevel gear. If you get new gear every 5-10 levels out of 40 instead of every 5-10 levels out of 80, you have more of an opportunity to stay in the same gear longer, meaning it’s more worthwhile to experiment with different builds and themes without wasting nearly as much money.

I have a feeling most people would continue to just use what they find, as they level, it’s going to be replaced any way, it’s rarely worth the trouble to buy new sets of armor, weapons, jewelry and sigils/runes as you level. I really don’t think slowing the level curve down like that would make people feel good about it.

If you think critically about your suggestion, currently: you level quickly replacing gear fast, making it feel “less” important and more like a waste of money to upgrade every chance you get. Because gear comes in and upgrades out fast, using what you find, and just playing is a very viable option. You are not forced to buy anything to keep up, and keep leveling at a fast/decent pace.

Your suggestion would encourage people to buy gear to fit their class, and rune/sigil it etc because they would be stuck wearing it longer… However what if they don’t get the stats they need as a drop? What if they don’t get the runes etc? They have to go to the TP to buy it so they can keep leveling at a good pace?

Dynamic leveling is not relevant to what I’m talking about. I’m not suggesting any changes to that system.

Actually it is relevant, unless the only aspect of the game you are talking about is crafting gear and leveling… But playing the game, no area you “out level” feels obsolete thanks to dynamic leveling. This gives you plenty of time to explore various aspects of the game while leveling since areas don’t become obsolete.

I think 80 is fine… Don’t fix what isn’t broke.

a.) how would making it level 40 vs 80 be any different? Leveling is the path to your eventual goal… It’s not always going to be the most exciting thing in the world.

b.) How would slowing down the level progression speed make wasting trans charges on leveling gear any better? It would end up being the EXACT same feeling, I save my charges for my end game gear, I don’t buy ruins etc till I have my end game gear because it’s a waste of money to worry about on leveling junk.

Thanks to dynamic leveling, almost no part of the open world feels “obsolete” once you out level it, you an still go back to lower areas, gain exp, loot, map completion, and have fun.

Miku.6297

Unfortunately, we can’t. Anet has turned WvW into PvE for the week, and it sadly looks like they plan on making WvW permanent PvE Ktrain with the new maps in the expansion.
Here’s a question: How would PvE players feel if PvE land suddenly became PvP-able? If people could just run around and kill you while you’re simply trying to do whatever makes you happy. Now realize that that is exactly how every single WvW player feels right now.

Hmm Your comparison would be more appropriate if you literally couldn’t do wvw right now, which is not true you CAN, you choose not to due to the current event stupid/thing. It’s not like they removed the game mode from the game. As far as new map balance, I’d give that time and see how it turns out.

Also you really shouldn’t just say pve/pvp players, as the wvw current thing has literally NO impact on S-pvp.

I play Wvw, and I don’t feel that way, now realize when ever you use all encompassing words or statements like “every single” it’s almost always hyperbole.

There’s no big gain vs what? Any other legendary weapon you craft, you spend gold crafting… You then choose to keep or sell the legendary.

1. Sell the legendary and get gold, do NOT keep the weapon or a legendary skin.
2. Acct bind the legendary, gain the weapon and the SKIN.

Eternity options…
1. Sell the legendary and get gold, do NOT keep the eternity weapon or eternity skin; Keep the twilight and sunrise legendary skins.
2. Acct bind eternity. Keep the legendary weapon, the eternity, twilight and sunrise legendary skins.

To counter the problem of whispering, just right click the person you want to whisper. Or select the person in your contact list to whisper.

I like being able to /whisper Name, I see no real problem with leaving the system as. Not having countless of the same named characters in an area, in a party, or in your guild is actually nice in my opinion.

As for adding people to contacts, I have no intention of adding people just so I can whisper them once or twice easily.
