5 mins is ideal zerker group…we are talking bout normal pugs (who often dont know how to play) + occasional dc’s.

but telling me 33g from 5 dungeons only doing 1 path is just fantasy.

You run dungeons the wrong way, that is the issue.

Assuming everything is ascended, zerk has 342 more power than sinister. How much % that would be will depend on your might stacks and your build.

Anyways, did some calc for a condi build (0/4/6/0/4, staff, 3 clones up):

• 4,612 dps – Berserker
• 5,380 dps – Rampager
• 5,752 dps – Rabid
• 6,070 dps – Sinister

And for a power build (6/4/0/0/4, sword aa, 2x Swordsmans + 1x Duelist)

• 5,869 dps – Berserker
• 5,843 dps – Assassins
• 4,756 dps – Sinister

All calc assume solo situations. Looks like Sinister is the “zerk” of the condi build – glassy as ****** but delivers awesome dps output.

Its awesome when you are soloing in PvE, thats all. In PvP take Dire instead IMO.

Assuming there are 7 classes,

DPS : 4th , behind Ele, Thief and Ranger.
Burst : 6th, behing Ranger, Thief, Ele, Engi and Guard (no particular order)
Utility, Hard (anticondi, reflects) Support and Crowd control : 1st, sharing spot with Guardian
Soft (Boon) Support : 4th, after Elementalist, Guardian and Warrior
Defiance control (daze, stuns) : 1st, sharing spot with Thief

Topping first tier in Defiance control and Utility , we can conclude that mesmer is top 1 Utility/Hard Support/CC mix with medium to high sustained damage.

Necro isn’t that bad, it has quiet a high burst (top 3 lets say) but that’s the only thing they offer so forget about them.

That totally would be Power gear, it works for everything. Even as of today I use berserker and assasssin for everything.

Here is the breakdown of the stat combos used by mesmer :

Power (Berserker and or Assassin): PvE (solo AND in groups), PvP, WvW
Condition damage (Rabid, Dire, Sinister) : PvE (solo, never in a group), PvP, WvW

Starts at 0:52, it took me 15+ minutes to get two red buffs, i cropped the first part until I got my 1st red buff.

To help the OP as a necro :

• Use Power gear
• Use a power melee weapon such as dagger main hand.
• Spawn your minions BEFORE you activate the protective bubble so they get it aswell (this is what I did when I summoned the ogre pet and the fire elemental)
• Don’t run in the colours or you will get pushed away (usually back inside the damage area).

I wasn’t getting red over and over and over and over again.. so I started hanging out around the red one… and miraculously they started teleporting to red more often. Dunno if that was coincidence, but maybe it’s worth a try.

After my several tries, it is totally random. Your position doesn’t matter, pulling the add to the red switch doesn’t matter, killing it before or after it teleports doesn’t matter…

People talk about guides :c all I can do for now is uploading mesmer PoVs. True thing is, there is no much need for narration or guidance, if anything is worth mentionning, it will be in the video description.

Each build has his strengths and weaknesses, phantasm builds are good in 1vs1.
There is also Shatter (4 4 0 0 6), great for team arenas.
In WvW, most will run Shatter or Condition damage (PU, 4 4 6 0 0) as it fits more the playstile.
Then, there is Lockdown (CI 4 4 6 0 0, power spec), its a good build but requieres more skills than the other three.
The strengths depends on how you use these three ‘meta’ builds and the lockdown spec. Try them all and if one fits your playstyle just make it worth it, if you like phantasm then make sure you give all you have to perform better than your enemy.

So, i’m posting a speedrun solo performance for the hardest LS achievement and it gets fixed while my video is uploading? OK.
SC was faster on that one, too bad it was set as a group.

Well, a quick update on this, I have recorded the solo completion of the first 3 achievements for this LS chapter (Canach stuff); after some cutting and editing it will be uploaded (most likely tomorow as it takes a few hours per video with my crappy net)

So if everyone thought like this, then you would end up with a group with nearly zero synergy, as everyone would only be running selfish setups and not contributing to the party. The game and dungeons/fractals in general are designed with the expectation of group contributions. This is a major reason why ANET just recently opened up the ability to change your trait set up on the fly…to better facilitate adaptive group contribution. I can understand getting chapped about being criticized for poor setup choices and performance…but at some point, people need to accept responsibility for joining a group that has a goal in mind (which is generally not to carry someone looking to leach their way to loot bags in the safety of their full nomad bear bow set up).

Just because someone is pugging….doesn’t mean there is no expectation of competency and contribution.

Dem bosses are actually nice, Anet goes in the right direction.

It would take extra 1 hour in the case of a staff mesmer however.

Hello fellow mesmer, veterans and fresh players o/
Having upgraded my PC, I am now able to record videos so I was wondering if this subforum would be interested in PvE footage of a veteran mesmer point of view. That would be dungeon paths, fractals and Living Story, nothing “world record like”, just some good and smart mesmering using meta builds.

My main reasons :

We have plenty of PvP footage (tho the quality isn’t quiet there yet but w/e) but almost none for PvE.
I’m convinced there will be worthy content to do and to record in this LS chapter
There is barely any mesmer PoV for dungeons and fractals, except for world records, the few that exist are terrible condition/boonshare staff mesmers.

Is anyone interested in watching that kind of mesmer footage? What would you add or wish instead?

Tl;dr for your class choices based on HL content

Warrior : Damage and support in form of aoe boons (might, fury, swiftness) and powerups to your party (aoe Banners, Empowered trait).

Mesmer : Damage mitigation (reflection of projectiles), support (condition removal) and crowdcontrol (dazes, stuns, pulls)

tl;dr for High level content team setups.

You almost always take a warrior in your team, you don’t need more than one but several warriors is fine.
You take a mesmer and only one, ever, in your team. You can remplace the mesmer with a guardian, you can have both a mesmer and a guardian (overkill support) but you NEVER want two mesmers in your party.

He never said raids must be exclusive to guilds. He said that if you run with people you know, your chances of succes increase, which is totally natural (see real life).

Mesmer is a battle mage so it uses melee weapons in PvE (Sword/Sword, Sword/Focus and Sword/Pistol), sorry :/ Sword brings selfdefense, damage and access to your strongest phantasms from offhand weapons. Staff and scepter are condition focused weapons – as such they don’t do anything because of how badly conditions are designed (your teammates will override your conditions in seconds and you won’t do any damage).

If you still want to play a caster/mage class, switch to elementalist, they are the one using Staff and Scepter (even necros use melee weapons in comparison).

Oh, meta doesn’t always mean speedrun, it’s just what mesmer is good at and why you pick one in PvE in your team. Point is still, Staff and scepter are in a bad posture because of conditions being so weak. You would never contribute to anything using them.

Looks like I have to call in all my favors with anet and get ice bow nerfed. Once that happens, I’ll go for Glyph of Storms. Once that happens I’ll get meteor shower nerfed.

If everything gets nerfed, no longer anything will be.

I am only saying the minipet is dropping, its a rare drop and I am happy and proud of owning one of these. To me seems intended.

• Utilities are now locked once you choose them once, in order to improve the impact of your choices as a player.
• You can now reset your utilities by using Utility Change Manuals.
• Added Utility Change Manuals as a rare reward in Black Lion Chests.
• Added an Utility Change Manual in the Gemstore for a discount price of 401 gems.

The changes to the Gem/Gold conversion were just the tip of the iceberg.

Did you relog before entering the dungeon? I have this issue frequently in Laby, had it on Blinx farm aswel. Relogging seems to give me back some loots.

Ranged dps sucks kitten . If you want to compare both classes use the right builds.
Speaking of which, Thief has more utility than ranger. Both have insane burst abilities but ranger brings Frost spirit and Spotter.

But you should tell us what kind of PvE do you play. In open world anything does ok, even terrible builds.
