Don’t nerf Illusion of Life, the Manipulation cd trait would be useless.
I don’t think the problem lyes in the lack of perfect execution, as an example: GW1 relied on perfect execution of spikes/interrupts/instant heals, macros were abused in order to perfectly execute an interrupt on a 3/4s skill or a heal on a target who goes down from 100 to 0 in 1.5 seconds.

Bare in mind Memser gets better once you have access to lv40 traits, try it in the mists.
I don’t know a thing about alienware, but with a macro it is possible to start an action depending on what is seen on the screen (was used in gw1 for skill interrupts). The thing is to sample the health orb full, then the health orb at 50…25….10% hp and asign each image of the orb to a key that would change the color of your keyboard.
At the end, when you health reaches 50% for eg, the macro will see that the image of the 50% orb matches the requiered and will send a request to change the lights.

Always strafe/kite/dodge out; disable the assist melee in options (f11) so you cna run throught mobs and attack their back while they miss you.
I fear the nerf hammer too, should master all the classes and just roll the one OP at the moment.
If my PC would handle recording, then maybe… But you can see videos of insane shatters in a thread somewhere here, same occurs with thieves and their backstab/c&d/steal combos.

I’m not so much into big argumented threads, you do it better than me so this one will be short.
Yesterday was a frustrating night for me, i ran into several macro-using thieves and mesmers in tpvp. Be it clusterbomb, backstab/culling combo or 10k shatters…
I have no proof of them using macros, let’s suppose they’re just so good they can stay invisible while killing me 100-0 or tearing me appart with one shatter combo.
The worse thing about macros is the way Anet seems to “handle them”:
@ Macros: Macros are against the user agreement. You can be banned for using them, so use them at your own risk. I would also advise against using them, because in live tournaments, you won’t be able to use macros. So it makes little sense to learn “bad habbits” you’ll just have to retrain later.
We adhere to the same “one keystroke = one action on one character/account”, which is used by a lot of MMO publishers when defining botting/macros.
Just wanted to clear that up – be careful w/ those macros, they can get you banned.
That’s a logic close to “you can hack but watch out”. Advising against them? Really? That’s so unprofessional (imo).
Here ends my QQ thread, now for suggestions! Let’s cry about macros in PvE, maybe they’ll listen and start banning people due to PvErs complaints.

Didn’t know 7 actions were qualified as instant, maybe yo’ure the one who needs to learn how to play mesmer. It gives might per illusion only if they shatter at a diffrent time.

@ Kitiara, not everyone uses macros – the solution is to ban abusers, not to nerf a class.
AoEs can destroy clones, a shatter combo takes like 5 seconds from blank without utilities involved, 3 if Mirror Images, 1-2 with macro (?).
You should focus on something suited for you, pve.
A mesmer is too predictable. A mesmer needs 3 (6) illusions for a (double) shatter, it equals to 1-2 skills + 1 dodge roll. The combo is ephemeral, it can be reduced to 0 (1) illusions in a matter of seconds.
Please think twice before posting – Mufa is clearly not thinking when he states that thiefs’ burst can be better dodged than a mesmer’s one.
Nobody forces you to play shatter, just because there is a mechanic that allows to shatter your illusions it doesn’t mean you HAVE to. Can’t be hard to understand.
There are builds where warriors get benefits from not using their core mechanic, same goes for mesmers and there is no problem with that, not that phantasms have too long cooldowns and can’t be summoned after a shatter.
Balanced mesmer builds exist, and they are really good.
Keep in mind Protection on regen comes now with a 20-25 seconds cooldown making it useless.
And then it burn.
For Xavi, if i remember, Engineers have a 15k base health and so do rangers.

Necro sent my confusion back to me, i got hit twice for 3k per skill.
It gives 3 stacks per illusion with a sort of cooldown, if illusions shatter at the same time you get 3 stacks, if they shatter one after an other, you get 9.
You got trolled.
Mesmers ran shatter in tpvp, will run it even more with this kitten “balance” on legion setup.
Sigils apply to engineer kits and weapon stats will too (soon) – Why mesmers are left behind? Our are as much of a class mechanic as kits are for engineers.
The worse remains the “lock” of weapons and traits in tournaments.
Mesmer got hit pretty hard with this one, no more mobility betwen points except portal (which was nerfed not long time ago); no more smart tweaks dependiong on what you encounter (Null Field depending on the encounter etc…). Prestige bombing is impossible too now.
I feel like rerolling engineer, they have perma swiftness and stack mass bleeds/conditions.
+ Illusions mean combat mode and thus, reduced speed.
Bunker mesmer is really so-so in spvp, just tried in tpvp (I mean a real bunker, with Deffender, Shaman amulet, Earth runes). You can always go suicide spec (On kill traits, bounce, undead runes) or a phantasm build with 0/0/15/15/5 as a base and be as good.
Sorry juno, but the thread is sPvP focussed, there is no such thing as focus mesmer or staff guardian (oh well.. maybe rainbow guardians).
Giving more swiftness to mesmers because 4 classes get their passive speed buffs increased to +25% is not the right way of balancing.
Swiftness and Passive Speed Increase are two different things.
Mostly more reliable swiftness.
This made my day.
Passives stack with swiftness – 25%+33%=58%, mesmers are left behind! Let’s make swiftness more reliable, let’s buff focus (note, that nobody uses in combat)!
Every time we play on LoF, we get several rubberbands, freezes and lags.
