It sounds like the way it works is that any CC will reduce the bar by varying amounts, but that when it breaks it has a single predetermined response to that.

Revenant has Torment on crit, Engineers have Burning on crit, Guardians Chill… Confusion for mesmer on crit sounds totally legit and would be a truly welcome change.

Triple blast is far superior than Phalanx bro.
The CD of the skill is 8, so you can easily stack up to 18 layers of might without any boon duration, and with some trait and boon duration, easily upkeep 25 layers of might permanently by not hitting anything.

Irrelevant, the triple blast comes from a condition damage weapon. You also forgot the fact that you can’t get more than two blasts out of the skill, try again.

If anything I would say it is the anti Mesmer. Revenent has had plenty of time to be put together with 3 years of experience in how GW2 is panning out, a very fluid class with lots of interesting and dynamic mechanics and from the sounds of it plenty of support.

Wrong. We were shown a ranged weapon, a condition damage set, a condition focused legend and a tank legend. None of the are used in PvE.

• Elementalists are still top Swiftness, Might, Fury.
• Warriors are still essential.
• Guardians and Mesmers still have reflection and stability/aegis/protection monopoly.
• Thief is still master of stealth.

The traits we have access to are useless in PvE meta and can’t be worked around. They have no synergy (I hope this is fixed by release).

Revenant has a bit of everything but in the wrong place, it’s like a bad engineer.

There will always be the best way at doing things. It doesn’t only affect Gw, MMO or video games. In real life too there’s always a best way at doing something.

Or wait for sword mainhand, the true damage weapon?

Yes, the HoT trailer. Staff used as a melee weapon and sword as some multihit melee/backstab.

Lets look at Cleave (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cleave). If you compare these two classes to the others, they have 4 and 0 cleaves compared to at least 7 cleave skills per profession.

The fact that these two do not swap weapons does not mean they have access to more cleaves. It’s actually the opposit.

I think you people are really overestimating this. Creatures can also use it against players, all it is, is a new CC. And thus would be ignored by stability and defiance.

Except, taunt will help me make a tank character.

The reason why tank doesn’t work is not because Toughness/Vit sucks, its because there isn’t a reliable way to get enemies to look at me.

Of course, it won’t destroy the zerker meta, but at least my tank character can actually tank.

There are variables we aren’t aware of yet.

• Post CC aggro : Will you keep mob’s attention after the CC is over?
• CC uptime : Will you tank for 5 seconds on a 30 second cooldown?
• Defiance : As a CC, will it trigger/fail on Defiance?
• Autoattacks : Will the mobs with no true AA just stand there? You are then not tanking but stunning them.

Now, will defense gear be requiered to make use of the Taunt CC? An elementalist with Obsidian Flesh (invulnerability) is just as good if the Taunt lasts for 5 seconds.

I assume 5 seconds but just like Fear (reversed CC), Taunt will have low uptime and medium to high cooldown.
