Ah thanks alot, not playing warrior so followed the general trend of “dps vs support”. Proves my point that mesmer stacking might and warrior going Discipline is trash.

Chrono/3 Eles/Banner bich new meta confirmed, spamming them lavafonts like there’s no tomorow, a full clear of CM will be faster than skipping with shadowrefuge and blasts xD.

I don’t understand that comment then, where’s the use for Herald if elementalists do the boon job already? Except carrying a poor chaos mesmer’s boonshare. Not saying Herald is irrelevant for dungeons, the ferocity buff is solid.

True for fury on Dueling, I was too focussed on FF and Sword CD reduction.

In my experience elementalists cap might and give 1 min 40 of fury.

I think the scepter case was closed on page 1.

Chill will still proc the icon (not the effect) on immune break-bar bosses and the corresponding traits.

I don’t know what you mean by pre-might, the Herald+Mesmer combo is able to maintain a constant 23 stacks of might out of combat, which the Mesmer immediately bumps to max with their initial rotation. That sounds like pre-might stacking to me.

Notes taken for Domination, was more focusing on the majors than minors, my bad.

Thus my “I feel”, i’ll come back here when I get some info on that because I don’t remember correclty what the spreadsheets of Nike were saying. Pre-might is when you blast firefields because the boss is friendly, which happens in many dungeons.

Alright, a few notes for thoughts :

EA is about a 4% party boost to each party member. Assume the direct DPS of every party member is equal. How much would the Warrior’s personal DPS need to increase to make up for the 16% loss? 16%.

But the Warrior doesn’t have equal personal DPS to other party members, do they? So it’s more than 16% they need to make up personally. It’s more like 20%.

tl;dr – EA all the way.

Moreso relevant if mesmer brings up his personal DPS with something else than Chaos. We’ll see when the world records will start to flow I guess, maybe we’ll be having a double mesmer meta, chrono and portalbot?

For dungeons and not fractals or raids, I second the Dueling over Chaos because the later feels overthetop.
Chaos traitline only has one real benefit if you remove the staff – the boon duration as stated to get extra quickness. I feel however that Herald will be more than enough with his +50%. Dueling on the other hand… reffer to the post above.

I feel like the EA tradeoff on the warrior, the extra utility and slight damage increase on Dueling over Chaos (CD reduction, DE for faster Shatters) and the existence of fury prestacking for dungeons does not justify the warrior going solo and mesmer stacking boons with his herald buddy. Most dungeon encounters encourage pre-might (pre-fury).

Never ever go in class subforums. But before I rant about people trying to push Staff/Scepter+Shield mesmer to the meta because it can stack boons, can someone tell me more about the following :

• PS warrior over DPS warrior : is EA worth it over extra solo warior dps if you get your 25 mights elsewhere? Standart group composition, Mes/War/Ele/Ele/Thief.

Can’t give advice on pick up group compositions and tactics. For dungeons where fights last sub 40 seconds my build still stands superior.

Fun fact: a long time ago Staff 1 was called “Chaos Strike”, uses the current Chaos Armour icon and simply hits a target with a random condition/give yourself a random boon. No projectile, no beam, just point and bam. Back then Winds of Chaos was Staff 4.

And wasn’t phase retreat on greatsword in place of mirror blade or something? I have forgotten.

I feel like staff had both a leap forward and a leap back, but I could be totally wrong.

Sword had them, instead of BF.

Don’t focus on boons covered by the rest of the group so ditch that staff and chaos traitline.

Thief will have its place if the Content demands a lot of spamable blasts (waterfields anyone?) aswell as fast skips/interactions and there is also some niche things that Thief is good at that weren’t needed so far.

It’ll be ok as long as “any profession” does not mean “any build”.

They spread around a lot of utility with the recent balance changes. More professions will be able to fill more roles, which is a way to make the actual professions less important. As long as the required roles are fulfilled, specific class doesn’t matter.

It’s a good way to add flexibility to party compositions while (hopefully) still requiring some thought for playstyle choices, IMO.

By design the Necro has less damage mitigation that any other class, if 10 necros can make it without energy sigils (since this is part of a “build” and Anet doesn’t want to enforce builds for their raids) then raids aren’t challenging enough.

This will be really interesting to see what Anet pulled off. Curious asf.

Btw, am I the only one worried about the “no need of a specific group composition to complete raids”? I see two necros (reaper/staff) and 3 heavies in the Raid trailer and it makes me suspicious about the challenge.

That’s not a problem in a trinity game. If you play a class that focuses on heals, it’s because you desire to heal, etc… so when someone asks you to heal, you don’t cry about it, you like it.

Everyone is PHIW … the question is if someone is a “play how I tell you”.

I’ve never had that problem in a trinity game so I can’t answer you. Usually, you can grab any other healers LFT.

So you can’t play with your friends because you have to pick a LFT healer, if you find one because every MMO lacks healers by design.
