what keeps me playing?

pure stubbornness.

here is where i find myself:

i liked GW, i played it on and off for years.
it was an okay game, nothing spectacular, just okay, good enough to play now and then.

now GW2 is out, i also like it, i may play it on and off for years.

that is the only comparison that counts for me.

my first computer game involved using an old tape recorder,
loading took up to half an hour for 48k worth of program,
if the volume was too low or high it would fail to run.

since then games have come a long long way,
bugs are still present but are any of them game-breaking?

they need not be utility or elite, i was thinking of new semi-okay skills that add flavour.

the dye colours have a material property attached to them, Midnight Ice is a Metallic.
this wont effect cloth or leather parts, but any metal will shine.
you wont see this effect in the preview or hero view.

yes, that is odd.
they are over-knee boots…that show your knees.

but i have noticed more than a few wrong sized meshes (a “skin” is the texture, the model is “mesh”) amongst the armours.
the majority of the faults are in the posterior region, especially on larger sized female humans and norns.
and the sizing of some of the pauldrons is ludicrous.
someone needs to go through all the armours again and correctly resize and rerig them.

i have been playing my thief again and when she gets hit sometimes,
she cries out “for great justice!”
i have no idea why, anyone know?

i have never won the Lottery in RL, have i been “flagged” for that time in the pub that i mentioned that all lotteries were a con?

i like to ride my broom through high level zones until something hits me,
i got all the way to Orr before i had to stop.

nope, just shows yellow and red names,
alt shows the green names.

“show all names” works too but isnt as easy to toggle on/off.

my instinct is telling me to suggest that you go into the Great Lodge, on your left on the way in is an instance that leads to the “home” area, that has a poi in it.

if you are dual-wielding you can have 1 on either weapon and it only takes 13 kills then.
13 is a cool number for necros, so dont discount it like the post above has.

they are unlocked on that character only.
buy more bank slots instead,
or make your own guild for a private bank etc.

use a white item for the stats and the bulwark as the skin/title when you transmute,
it will still read as soulbound but another character can remove it from the bank,
then transmute it again with a better stat item to get what you want,
keeping the skin you want.
so you need: 1 white shield, 1 good stat shield, 2 transmutation stones (fine ones, if any of the items are 80).

it’s exactly like that, they are flipping the TP and spamming “for great justice!” just to be annoying (perhaps also using it as a “yay!” every time they make profit).

when faced by choices like this i always add the numbers up and choose the highest,
so Rune of Divinity would win for me (by 156 points).

but as Kitty explained yes, create your own guild and represent it to get the bank.
you will need to unlock the second tier of the architecture upgrades to get to the bank,
this will take a few thousand influence points in all, but you can buy influence with gold if you are rich and impatient enough.
i started my personal guild over a month ago and am only just building the bank (but i did unlock the guild armorer,weaponsmith upgrades also, just to see what they do).

just add something to the line you repeat that makes it unique:

LF3M fractals lvl 5
i’m LF3M fractals lvl 5
>LF3M fractals lvl 5
*LF3M fractals lvl 5

it’s obviously the same model hat, just rerigged and with the band removed,
5 minutes work for a modeller.

witches and wizards are mostly not-bald from the sources i can think of.

i saw a few naked bots tp farming nodes around Melchor’s Leap,
i got to report a few because they had normal names that i could remember.
they seemed to be normal players using botware.
the bots arent some “evil invasion of chinese” or other somesuch conspiracy,
they are just lazy players who want more gold and dont want to play/pay for it.

just ran through Lornar’s Pass and farmed a Root Vegetable node,
i got a Turnip and 1 Unidentified Dye…

i walk off feeling happy and notice the node is still showing on the minimap,
so i walk back and farm it again,
i got a Beetroot and 1 Unidentified Dye!

so Turnip, Beetroot and 2 Unidentified Dye from a single node.

anyone else been as lucky with dye?

Play naked if you feel too powerful.

i play naked on my sylvari ranger,
for a few reasons:

1. sylvari do not look good in non-cultural armour.
2. it makes a good benchmark for determining the level of protection armour can give.
3. it makes combat more challenging.

so far, she looks great naked, her lack of armour makes little difference in combat, she still facerolls mobs at her level and below.

they do drop from mobs,
i have had 2 i can remember,
the second one fell from a level 3 Grawl in Norn starter area.

just very very rare.

if you use the legendary as the title in the transmutation,
you keep it’s name/skin/effects.

add any item of the same type to get the stats you like,
same with the upgrade.

the colour is linked to the stats item, so you will lose the purple if you transmute into exotic stats.

or alernatively, you could transmute a white level 1 item and make the name purple if the legendary is the stat provider (not that you would want to).

Guardians are very much “holy warriors” so yes, Paladin.

i have 1 or more of each class, except guardian.

couldnt say who was my favourite other than saying who i have levelled most overall,
which would be Warrior.

after her, my Thief, Elementalist and Engineer come second,
the others follow slowly after.

the wiki discussion on this has some feedback.

from what i can unravel, it seems the 30% chance of heal might happen on crits only.

then " Sigil’s chance stacks like 30% + 30% of 70% = 51% chance to trigger the effect."

and “seems to heal about 370ish at level 80(no +healing traits).”

and as for range “the animation is a splash centered around you”

so it heals you as well as allies within that spash zone, stacks and procs on crit.

i’m not 100% certain on any of this but hope it helps.

I wanted to add a note: I don’t see how it is possible — given the coding for the distribution — that someone who did not log into the event at all would have received a chest in yesterday’s distribution. Maybe they forgot they logged in..

…or maybe, like me, they could not login at all because the login server was being abused by people hopping on alts to chase chests through overflows all night.

in my initial and subsequent support ticket emails,
i was assured i would recieve the chest,
after all i did spend over 4 hours trying to log-in to the “One Time Event!”
and through no fault of mine, failed to.
i am not the only one to have been “Locked Out” during the event,
but the threads detailing us have long been buried/merged/locked.

please send me the chest as promised.

i have updated my original ticket with support,

will it be given priority over new “i didnt get a chest” tickets or

i have played my norn female warrior without the legging armour since release,
it does look much better than the giant skirts, chunky pants and glitching meshes
that are the alternative.
just wish you could dye the underwear layer.

i would love to add my thanks to this thread,
but after weeks of patiently dealing with support over this,
i still do not have the chest reward.
the mailing list has missed a lot of us,

i dont understand what keeps going wrong,
but it is making me more and more upset.
