extra bank space is worth making your own guild for, the rest is pointless.
the players are there, but they get culled before you see them, watch for pets running alone…
I was almost buying into that kitten bullkitten the blog poster made until he started spouting off about Nexon trying to acquire Valve. What a moron. Let’s get one thing straight: Valve is a privately funded company, they cannot be bought out. Do your homework people.
type into Google: nexon+valve
do your homework
of course, it is still unconfirmed, but that hardly makes the blogger a “moron”.
is every other blogger who has reported on this a “moron” also?
1. same as OP.
2. same as OP.
3. feeling mugged.
dear OP,
try the Player helping Player forum,
this is the Discussion forum and obviously contains debate.
interestingly, i received an update email about the disconnect debacle on sunday,
“Thank you for your patience while we investigate the issue you reported regarding the Lost Shores event. We’re aware that some players were not able to receive the reward chest at the end of the event after having put in a lot of effort. We’re very sorry that happened and we’re investigating the possibility of restoring the reward to everyone who was affected.”
“We will update you early next week when we know all the details on exactly how we will accomplish this restoration.”
seems that perhaps the two statements will happen on the same planned day.
dear OP,
the moderators operate extremely fast on this forum to restrict feedback to that of constructive only.
constructive feedback is why this forum exists in the first place.
if you dont think a post is providing constructive feedback, report it.
apologist threads like this serve no purpose other than to attempt to derail negative feedback.
if there was any negative feedback to derail, why didnt you report it?
perhaps some of the comments you have read seem harsh to you,
leading you to defend those it was aimed at.
but truly, if those comments remain rather than vanish, they have been investigated and found to be valid.
the fact that you dont find them valid is moot.
Baby pukes on you, Save versus Poison to Dodge…
i just got infracted (twice!) for posting the phrase:
“this is not the arenanet you are looking for”
by which i mean (constructively) that i agree with the OP’s mandate,
however, the company that won our trust does not exist anymore,
other than in name.
to paraphrase Herac-l-i-tus (forum filter hates ancient greeks):
“no customer can deal with the same company twice,
because the second time,
it is not the same company and he is not the same customer”
nothing so far, Gav.
i am in the same boat, 3 days later and counting.
me and others have made a few threads about this, but they all float off unanswered.
OP, you cannot make a thread to complain about complainers, expect an infraction. ^^
…but all anyone wants to do is grind gear in dungeons.
i dont.
not interested, all the dungeon gear is fugly.
OP, you have managed to encapsulate the LA of today perfectly.
i tried to start a conversation in LA just to cut through the LFG spam,
i managed to get one them to break character momentarily for some interaction,
which caused another to break character to insult me,
which in turn caused two to become white knights who galloped all over the troll,
then we danced…
so even though they all seem like mindless automatons typing
LFG Fractal lvl"x" 80 only,
there are most certainly a few real people hiding amongst them.
@ zauselbaut:
same here.
it’s a north american holiday based on the story of how pilgrims stole turkeys and popcorn from the native americans, then had a party.
i dont think i am any of the types the OP offers…
i like making alt after alt and PVEing only to unlock all skills and weapons,
then dressing them up with specific armour and weapon skins.
not done any dungeon, pvp (if you dont count 1 keg brawl) or wvw, not interested.
call me Type M.
as long as you dont have any responsibilties or commitments,
are suitably attired, fed and watered,
and have a pee bucket under the desk,
i dont see why not.
go for it.
they hate being reminded about this trailer,
as laughable as it is,
this thread will vanish promptly,
just like every other thread that links it does…
odd, that link doesnt work from my inbox, but when i paste it here it does…
thanks for clicking it! :p
anyway, my point was, no reply so far…
i had an email from support:
“Hello,
Thank you for contacting us about this issue.
We were sorry to learn that some players were unable to receive their rewards at the conclusion of this weekend’s event, due to being disconnected.
Our development team is currently exploring the possibility of being able to provide these rewards to those players that were affected. You can read more about this on the official Guild Wars 2 Forums, located here: (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Disconnect-at-the-end-of-Lost-Shores-Event-Read-this).
Once we have additional information to impart, we will contact you again via this same ticket.
We certainly appreciate your continued patience and understanding while we work through this issue."
still awaiting the possible reply.
anyone else waiting?
edit: removed link dead comment.

TLDR: You don’t need ascended items unless you’re doing the content you seem to hate having to do to acquire them.
for an anet apologist you are extremely shortsighted.
do you really think that they arent developing other uses for the a-gear?
wake up.
yes, a few threads about this already, youre late :p
yes, it is the Signet of Rage…and no, not new.
sometimes it doesnt show, but it is a particle effect linked to equipping it as your elite skill.
this is probably the most sensible thread on this forum.
money seems to be the only consideration for A-Net.
i suppose that the massive delay in releasing GW2 led them down a path towards Corporation-Loan-Sharks.
now that they have “sold their souls” they have no real control over the game they produced.
this would explain the turnaround stance on every decent idea they ever had.
they are being controlled like puppets.
expect any more “cries for help” to be stifled and removed.
just like any negative viewpoints anyone cares to post here.
ANd what about the people (like me) that weren’t able to log on to the servers during the event?! I spend 2.5 hours trying to logon and never even got at the charracter select screen. Are we not to be helped? I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the only one unable to logon at all…
yes, i was also unable to logon due to login server issues.
so far that makes 5 of us…
any more?
i started this thread last night when the login servers finally let me in,
surprised you found it buried on the 5th or so page. :p
when i did login to the game, i saw one other person who said this happened to them also.
was it just us 4?
While your intentions might be pure, you don’t need to take ownership over Anet’s event problems. Let them deal with it. And hope they learn from their mistakes. If they do not, then this polarity will soon turn their servers into ghost towns.
well said.
My jimmies are extremely rustled after the new build was pushed during the boss fight- but I don’t think they should take rewards away from anyone. Did you even try the event? It took over 2 hours and the later stage was very boring. Trust me, they earned them.
did you even read my post above that stated that i could not attend the event because the login server would not let me?
i agree with you though, anyone who dragged themselves through the long event has earned the rewards, but as i also have stated, the ones who were disconnected did not get their “well-earned” rewards and the support tickets they filed are coming back with “nothing we can do about it” comments.
and as for “boring”, this thread is fast becoming so.
If you got a loot roll at all you came out far ahead than if you didn’t, considering you got a 20 slot backpack item. How much do those cost to make? That’s 10 gold just for the superior rune of holding.
Quit basing your world on what other people got. It was a long event, had a bunch of interesting new features that came with it, and the fractals have been a lot of fun so far. After 3 years of playing Warhammer Online my reward was 2 endless dyes, and people here are complaining about loot. Look about the huge amount of involvement the Arenanet staff put into this event and be happy with the effort that was provided to give us a unique experience. Seriously, get some perspective, and relax.
i didnt make this post to complain about loot,
i thought this forum could do with this “possible” solution.
have you seen the threads on people that were disconnected even though they did everything that everyone else did?
telling people to get “perspective” and “relax” is patronising, i simply feel sympathy for them, and if you weren’t so busy being smug, you might also.
/signed
shoddy, sloppy and haphazard at best.
the happiness of the player base is more important than any virtual economy.
what is the point of having a functioning economy if every is too miserable to login?
reducing everyone to the same level playing field might resolve things.
it seems to me that a lot of people missed out on a chance to get precursors,
whilst others who were disconnected and got nothing and tickets say they never will.
so please remove all precursors received from the event and delete any gold made from their sale on the TP.
this will sort out the fanboys from the suddenly rich and we might get some honest feedback from the event rather than this current polarity.
The fact that everything was scheduled so meticulously and people that were unable to attend are often just seething at their inability to do so baffles me. That’s all.
no amount of “meticulous planning” can provide a workaround for people like me who were unable to login for a period of several hours during the event.
the game login server, the forum login and the support login were all down for me.
i would have liked to attend, but through no fault of my own i just couldnt.
i tried logging in for 8 pm gmt,
login failed until gone midnight gmt for me,
also,
my forum login and my support login also failed during this time.
i had no way to do anything at all in relation to the event,
so it was entirely missed through no fault of mine.
i dont want any compensation for this,
but please make your login servers more dependable during events.
the goal is to move anything they deem as “bad press” off the first page as quickly as possible, where very few people will bother looking.
this leaves the first page looking like everything is fine and dandy.
it is all about first impressions for new forum users.
Thanks Ayumi,
you have totally convinced me that the bugged npc hunt is not worth my effort,
off to watch “Strictly” :p
i couldnt find an answer for this question so here goes:
Has anyone completed the Scavenger Hunt and if so, what did they get as a Reward?
just trying to decide if it is worth the effort.
with everyone trying to download the patch at the same time,
we will all get a slowdown like this.
if everyone reading this will kindly close the launcher,
i will go in first and scout it out for you… :P
ditto,
fix please.
not noticing any massive drop,
been getting the same amount i used to,
and last night i got 2 dyes drop in under half an hour.
if anything the drops are as good as they were previous to the peak-and-tweak or slightly higher perhaps.
well said, Nalora.
if only more people would take the time to smell the flowers.
yes, Loumy, i used to play the warhammer pnp-rpg and we had an entire campaign based on the skaven.
great fun.
i just want to be a skrit guard with a rifle and look down the end of the barrel to check it’s loaded,
i could be hired as a bodyguard.
very cheaply.
i had a character that had unlocked the vigil badge on the starting screen and that stayed when i deleted her,
didnt notice any achievements vanish either.
deleted around 6 characters so far, with no obvious loss of anything.
sorry to tell you this, but not everyone who has played since beta has a level 80 yet.
i have 9 toons, of which the highest is 48 and the lowest is 15.
i have zero intention of getting any of them to 80 anytime soon,
mostly because getting to the level cap leads to boredom, lack of direction and elitist behaviour.
people need to learn to slow down and smell the flowers more.
the word “toon” is not that bad, it’s easy to type and comprehend.
i find people using the word “scrub” or saying “u mad bro?” far more annoying.
also people that use “ur” or “your” instead of “you’re”, or “rouge” instead of “rogue”.
and kudos to Thord for mentioning the pnp-rpg, Toon, i used to play this in the 80’s.
i like this idea,
i miss the skill-hunting aspect of gw and would like it in gw2.
my idea would be to add an extra 2 skill slots using – and = keys,
captured skills could be placed in those and would allow everyone to be a little more unique.
they needn’t be elites, just as long as they add flavour and variety.
my warrior and mesmer norn dont really use them, but my ranger norn uses owl and wurm and the snow leopard form.
the Hare heart is something i have done on 9 toons now,
i find it fun.
it really isnt that hard, and does not take very long.
