the saying goes “you can’t flog a dead horse”,
well, apparently you can, anet.
woah there.
i dont think i like the idea of playing alongside anyone that would join gw2 because of this video.
anything that spawns with it’s own bounding box might cause this to happen, the game doesn’t check for a player being at the same coords.
Hey guys,
We’re sorry that it’s been a little quiet around here — rest assured, that does not mean we aren’t listening and checking into just about each and every bug reported in this forum and any other. Josh has been swept away by his new tasks, so I’m going to do my best to poke my head in here as much as I can.
Kirk, you’re making it sound as though there have only ever been 2 anet staff appointed to bug-fixing.
What with a zillion+ bugs still present since launch, this sort of makes sense now.
But honestly, saying you are “going to do your best to poke my head in here as much as i can” sounds as though it’s not your given task and is just something you are volunteering to do (like a player).
None of any of this inspires confidence in anet whatsoever.
I recently sent my annual bug report (not a joke) and fully expect to send it again next year and the year after that.
In fact, if anything I have ever reported was actually fixed, I might have to rethink my faith.
tldr: FIX The Clipping Armor Already.
This is yet another bizarre move by Anet.
They release an unfinished product that only looks decent on Human Males and only if they are the correct body size.
Talk about a niche market.
And I wont even comment on the female version looking like a different set altogether.
I wont be wasting my money on this.
There are severe clipping issues with the norn cultural armor for large females that have been wrong since launch. I started reporting them over a year ago. I am still awaiting any kind of response or fix. They dont see clipping as an issue apparently.
But thanks for posting this, now i dont need to waste money to be disappointed again.
but getting stabbed in your exposed gut and yet still having your nonexistent armor dampen the blow doesn’t make any sense
neither does making up an example like this, in a game where you cannot target body areas.
if magic exists and youre fine with that, then you are also fine with the idea of an invisible personal forcefield – go with that.
I give a definite “no” to heavy armor that doesn’t look it could provide any protection
i dont understand this viewpoint.
why do people accept things like magic/mythological creatures/gods existing in the game world but skimpy armour becomes game-breaking?
well, Halloween had two great costumes,
Wintersday has one mediocre costume.
they have totally failed to deliver,
and will lose money from it.
if any dev reads this:
Great Costumes in Gem Shop = Real Money Purchases.
yes, after looking at all the gemstore has to offer and how they have crippled the mini acquisition (again),
i suddenly dont want to part with any real money.
in fact, now that more minis are off the menu,
i only want two things from the entire event:
Catapult short bow skin.
Earmuffs.
which means i will spend a glorious total of 25 gems this event,
and i will use gold to buy those.
great move “company”, great move…
This is my second skimpiest armoured avatar:
Mimi Zu – Ranger, Tier 2 Norn Cultural, Heritage gloves,
no chest piece (chest includes a long skirt that clips with the largest female norn shape).
This is my skimpiest armoured avatar:
Bear Skin – Warrior, Tier 1 and 2 Norn Cultural,
no leggings (the Tier 2 skirt clips badly with the largest female norn shape).
Where’s the damn love for maces Anet, WHERE????
i feel your pain,
“the company” is biased towards certain weapons.
more people would use maces if the models werent so limited.
i use Kevin, best mace model in game so far.
wow, way to fail to read something you even quoted.
The problem is that I am actually addicted to this puzzle.
Wintersday isnt even a day old and you say youre addicted?
Addiction must mean something totally different in your part of the world.
okay, so i just woke up.
when i went to sleep 12 hours ago, this subforum was full of europeans complaining about the late start time.
now this subforum is full of spoilers and more, like Wintersday has been around for days…
so, did i go through a bizarre time warp as i slept?
i’m a fan of the oversized female norn,
i really like the cultural armor for them,
but…
whoever sized the models forgot to do so for the oversized body type,
so depending on the armour,
either the leggings or the chest clip horribly and make the entire purchase pointless and unwearable.
so my oversized female norn warrior doesnt wear any leggings, as none fit without clipping.
and my oversized female norn ranger doesnt wear a chest piece for the same badly clipping reason.
if the modellers went back to those armours and actually made them the correct size,
my avatars would appear less skimpy.
this problem isnt restricted to norn only either,
some of the human female body shapes have also been wrongly sized and show clipping (not great when bright yellow clad buttocks poke through your non-yellow leggings constantly).
really? this will make a lot of people very happy if so.
bump.
gold merchant: Hey man, got any gems? i need 100.
gem seller: Sure thing, i got 100, what will you pay me?
gold merchant: I shall pay you 80ish silver pieces!
gem seller: Wait, arent you a gold merchant?
gold merchant: Mhm…
gem seller: And you want to pay me less than 1 silver piece for 1 gem?
gold merchant: Mhm…
gem seller: Oh, sorry, my mistake! I am completely out of gems…come back next week…
@ Coffeebot: great post. says it all in a nutshell.
For the vast majority of us, we have no option to buy gems for cash, and thus, will be forced to convert using the current ratio to get gems (for whatever reason), and thus will constantly drive the exchange rate up.
i totally agree,
and conversely,
i have no problem spending my £ on gems so i can buy something in the gemshop,
but i will not convert any gems into gold at the current exchange rate because it’s so bad.
i can make easier gold by playing.
so if the same is also true of many other gem purchasers,
the the gold>gem exchange rate will only escalate over time.
don’t forget wintersday starts real soon…. gem prices tend to go up quite a bit as these events get closer. Inflation is probably also causing gems to be pricey.
yes, as soon as the new costumes and items/skins are in the store,
i and many others will be buying gems with £/$ and buying them all.
save your gold for conversion to gems at the market peak.
i would guess the market will peak around xmas eve,
as everyone will want to buy themselves a present (if they haven’t already done so).
the exchange rate is manipulated by “the company”.
they dont want you to use ingame currency to purchase gemshop items,
they want you to purchase gems.
they made this game to make money, not to go bankrupt.
all races have the same amount of footing regardless of size,
in the case of asura it means they can step out into thin air before they jump.
try edging off of objects to find the exact amount of leeway you have.
the “type the name in contacts” method works sometimes but some bots use alternate vowels with double dots above or ^ above etc that i cannot type on my keyboard unless i use alt-numberpad codes.
makes it very hard to report.
if you want as easier time in Orr,
max vitality/healing/toughness and keep running.
the numbers speak for themselves:
population of the americas : 910,720,588 (2008)
population of europe : 739,165,030 (2011)
population of oceania: 378,000,000 (2010)
yes, lots of threads about this already.
it’s new and hard to report (they zoom underneath the surface then pop up at nodes).
that is server-side culling, nothing you can do about it.
i got 2 unidentified dye from a single plant node the other day.
the staff you want doesnt exist.
there are several mesmer type weapons: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Whisperblade
as you can see from the “similar looking” list at the bottom, a staff if not amongst them.
they come from the Mystic Forge and the Unique list has everything but a staff:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge/Other_Items
the closest to a staff is the spear: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Illusion_%28spear%29
sorry about that.
the only stats that matter to me are mine,
i really dont care what anyone else has done.
i find Orr easy and fun.
if you are having problems, i dont mind playing bodyguard.
obviously , you have to be on my server to make this happen (Underworld).
it might seem that it is wall-to-wall risen, but there are areas and routes that are empty and safe.
tip: holding down the ctrl key lets you see any red and yellow names, aim for the gaps.
(if there are no gaps, aim for the smallest crowd)
this doesnt bother me, i make more money from Powerful Venom Sacs.
when i see a commander i tell them that they are being stalked by a blue thing.
everyone should swap server to Underworld for Xmas,
not only do we have a player named “Santa Claus”,
we also have “Frosty The Snowman”.
cant beat that.
i get this sometimes and i never ever alt-tab out.
a full relog solves it mostly.
yes, they do drop better the lower the area is.
i think the “omg dye drops nerfed” posts come from people only playing 80s in high level areas.
i take my 80 to the lowest zones and dyes drop “normally” again.
this is probably an inbuilt dye system that allows low characters to acquire all the dye they need before they are mid-level.
lol..owned.
i wonder what you tasted like?
Chicken?
Yay!
this thread will be locked shortly anyway.
lol..owned.
i wonder what you tasted like?
yes, many thread about this before.
they are bots that tunnel under the ground surface and pop up at nodes,
not really teleporting but they seem like that.
buy digital versions only, then the box doesn’t exist to complain about.
p.s. your spelling is shocking.
since the outset, i never ever liked the terms tank or healer.
i dont want to be pigeonholed into 1 of 3 choices.
great for an npc that tags along, but not for my character.
i am glad they are gone.
my norn warrior does not want anyone wearing her gear, especially midgets.
Nothing does. Just re-installed Fallout: New Vegas…
i have never uninstalled it.
open chat window and type /bow :p
guilds were formed for this exact purpose during the headstart.
they formed to make the first legendary in the game.
i can see the point to doing that, being first and all.
but this? i dont know what this is.
bored of grinding alone? need some suckers to help?
meh.
maybe all move to a “high” server in EU.
my server has a lot of U.S. players it seems (from watching map chat).
