try elementalist, has a “fire blow” spell you like plus many more cool effects.
there is no DR at work here.
i often stand at Boar for hours at a time, just chatting and waiting for the train to do its circuit.
I can do Boar multiple times (try 30 or more) whilst stood there and i get zero DR.
zero DR.
zero.
D.
R.
it’s all about the two distinct and seperate thresholds:
one threshold determines your contribution level the other determines your reward.
as i said earlier, going by the numbers on your screenshot, you did hardly any damage and so did not get a reward, regardless of contribution level.

i hope they do nerf it, maybe then i will stop seeing “zerker” everywhere.
it’s Berserker.
it means “bear-shirt” and losing the “ber” means everyone is banging on about being “Full Shirt”.
it’s just nonsense.
well, i hope they nerf your Shirts.
maybe then the Bear (Ber) can return.

For all those saying this is Diminishing Returns…
It Isn’t.
You can do Troll>Bandit>Oak>Spider>Boar>(Wasp) all day long if you want to and you will get zero DR.
You obviously dont do the Queensdale Train.
The reason the OP didnt get a Bag was because of the reasons that Lindbur and I stated.
I have personally killed that Boar over 3000 times, so i think i know more than a little about this particular subject.
this thread needs closing now.
what Lindbur said.
it’s all about thresholds.
i have sometimes got a bronze contribution level and gained an exotic bag.
also, the xp-karma-money numbers are very low, this means you barely clipped boar even though you got gold contribution.
when you do the boar enough on the same character you can tell if youre getting your regular reward or not and work it out from there.
this is what you get for putting all your eggs in one basket.
nobody told you to, you just followed a trend like a lemming.
nerf-lol.
As someone who didn’t play GW1
i stopped reading after that.
obviously nobody will admit to buying gold from goldsellers and will create a suitable cover story.
saying you got it flipping or from mystic forge or pure luck or dungeon grinding etc.
i take all such stories with a pinch of salt.
Cynical and jaded much? I report every gold seller that solicits. That kind of crap ruins the economy of the game. Some of us actually get more gold by either luck or working hard to make it. Most of my guildmates have money because we constantly do dungeons and flip on the TP. I would think most people who buy gold wouldn’t rear their heads on this thread.
nice cover
expect an exclusive one-week-only Mursaat mini sale in the gem shop.
expect little else.

there is nothing cool about striving for months to make something that puts you in an exclusive club where everyone wields the exact same weapons.
ugh. necro thread. kill
for people with that much gold there are only two ways of getting it:
flipping the trading post or buying it from goldsellers.
neither option appeals to me.
lacklustre-deeply-unoriginal-fluff.
one more thing i will never buy.
the fact that it took a team of people to place it in game in the first place is kinda sad.
and whoever does the node placement needs a lesson in interior design.
makes me think of 3 possibilities:
1. Scarlet is the jungle dragon from the Dreaming.
2. Scarlet will become the Dark Tree.
3. Scarlet is pulling a Kormir.
edit: 4. Scarlet is bringing the gods back (thus making human cultural skills suddenly useful).

I see so many animals in the game that I would like to charm into a ranger pet yet the game only allows me a small portion of them.
Ranger pets need expanding to include all the working animals in the game.
I would like a Stag pet, for example.
(and i miss the zoo island from gw)
it still comes across as though the “scarlet-hatred” is an intentional plot device gained through great scripting rather than bad.
ugh.
i came to the conclusion soon after launch that the bugs and exploits in the majority of content were being used for gain.
i decided to opt out of it all.
this has left me with pure pve and little gain.
but at least i dont feel like a cheat.
i thought it was about time that i did some map completes for my 9 characters this week.
i ran 7 of them around Queensdale to complete and was awarded a key in each chest.
that was nice.
this is why you shouldnt put all your eggs in one basket
i refuse to use anything berserker simply because it’s obviously OP compared to the other stat sets.
if the majority of players gravitate towards a single set it makes the rest redundant along with the playstyles and builds that go with them.
why do people only want balance when it’s in their favour?
I prefer to ignore any content i dont need or want.
i dont do pvp or wvw or jp or dungeon or legendary or ascended or even map completion.
they just arent my cup of tea.
there’s a lot of “i don’t like it so nobody can have it” mentality here.
if you don’t want to duel, turn the option off. then it won’t even affect you. what’s the big deal?
equally, there is also a lot of “i want it so everybody has to have it” mentality here.
if you want to duel, turn the option on…oh wait, there is no option.
problem sorted.
i’d really rather not see duels here, it’s too easy to be a trolling device.
Not if it is done right.
I have yet to see it done right in any mmo.
i’d really rather not see duels here, it’s too easy to be a trolling device.
Leave my favourite traits ALONE.
wow, what a great threa…argument.
Sadly, Bagel is right.
We aren’t in Guild Wars.
good thread, i will try and add to it if i find anything else.
never seen that one, but i have done the rabbit one with 10 characters now and i find it easy to solo (use a speed booster of some kind).
Australia and New Zealand arent in the West.
Should they be worried?
i took 10 months off playing gw2 and when i came back i had 8 of those scrolls…
and 10 characters all over lvl 20…
then i deleted my least favourite character just so i could use a scroll.
so useful…
i still get minis for my 12 characters birthdays in guild wars, those actually feel like presents.
these scrolls are almost pointless.
A fire is rising you cannot contain
Fireheart Rise? could be another Scarlet map-makeover.
Ring of Fire? could be the next map to open, accessed via Orr, catering to 80s.
I wouldnt be surprised to see a Bloodstone involved and the return of Abaddon.
(edited by Mimizu.7340)
i called it a long time ago,
Scarlet is the plant dragon.
I agree, i find most of the game offensive.
I was chatting with Mrs. Krait next door about this only yesterday…
I do wish the Queensdale farm were nerfed in some way, but I’m not too sure which direction would be the best to take.
- They can’t just kill the ability to get max level loot in any zone, because that would only create even more ghost towns.
- They can’t increase scaling on the Queensdale champs because then natural Queensdale players would find the encounter extremely too difficult.
- I’d hate to say just nerf the drops on champions, especially champions that are lower level to the player, because that once again removes incentive to revisit older areas.
Personally, I feel respawn timers for the Queensdale champs just need to be increased dramatically. It might penalize people leveling up in Queensdale a little bit, but I feel the benefit would far outweigh the cost.
off-topic much?
go create another kill-the-queensdale-train thread if you need a soapbox this badly.
OP, i too left the guardian until last and didnt really want to play one ever.
I did start one a few months ago and i found it the easiest profession to level.
I took her on a skill challenge spree and ended up running through mobs 10-15 levels higher and surviving (barely).
the many options for blocks and retaliation allow for severe gauntlet running.
“fighting without fighting”
Like: it’s not a subscription based game
Dislike: anet forgot to include all the things i liked about Guild Wars.
Yes, there is a huge difference between what you typed and what the moderator typed.
OP, i havent “been” since xmas day, so i can only agree, something big is coming.
To run with the bizarre analogy in the OP, I still feel like Norm when I log in.
GW2 makes you feel like a Lazy Overweight Henpecked Opportunistic Alcoholic?
i sort of get that.
i would use the word Sterile
Theres also no feelable difference in the speed of a 25% movement speed signet over using swifness, that gives you 33%.
I can feel the difference.
try looking on the Queensdale map.
30 ish, the most i have ever managed to save without spending.
unsure, i would like to see some more stats covering other low level maps first.
certainly, in queensdale the crit dam seems oddly diminished in relation to crit chance.
perhaps it is merely a starter map/queensdale train nerf?
(edited by Mimizu.7340)
a bug you say?
we have a forum for that.
