i would mail it to me…
having just gotten my warrior to 80,
i have been to Orr for the first time.
i must say, i rather liked it;
it made me get all tactical and excited.
i map-completed the Straits and half of Melchor’s in one sitting.
went to Southsun after, the karka were sitting ducks by comparison.
i have always wondered about these Orr/Karka “too hard” threads,
but could never have an opinion having never done them.
now i know they are possible with a warrior and some concentration.

a true altoholic keeps rolling toons and playing them until level 20-30 then rolls another.
this leads to deletion in the case of no-more-slots or the purchase of more slots to accommodate.
i myself have 9 slots now, soon to be 10 so i can play a guardian i wont delete.
so far i have 2 necros, 2 rangers and 1 each of the rest except guardian.
warrior is always a solid choice for 1st character (in any game that has them),
as it creates a handy benchmark to compare the rest to.
i have been doing the story with my female norn warrior.
the custscenes between her (dire hillbilly accent) and Trahearne (tri-Hern…oh dear, yawn)
are excruciatingly painful to experience, yet during combat i fail to notice him at all.
worse yet, after combat i keep getting surprised and woefully reminded of his existence as he stalks me…
complaint threads vanish or lock.
plenty of people aren’t okay with many things.
you wont read about it unless youre quicker than “thank you for your understanding”
both the ranger and engineer are good at surviving.
play one of each.
“…and the power to follow through.”
i have this power and spare pants…
However, less players would also mean less demand. So if it were entirely a population issue, there would not be as much demand and supply/demand would be more in balance.
as i understand it, the legendary staff Bifrost needs 250 Unidentified Dyes in it’s creation, so it is possible that supply>demand is working on a 1>250 ratio rather than something more balanced.
they upped the drop rate for dyes,
some people farmed them in droves,
so they nerfed the drop rate,
now everyone suffers.
Queensdale drops more than most maps. Go there.
Fallout 3, FNV etc did this on death, i’m used to it.
i like the fade-to-greyscale effect also.
It also sucks that the Karka’s don’t count towards the shelled creatures killed.
maybe because when you kill them they have already shed it?
i just wont finish any story then.
Queensdale is fast becoming Dye Land
I don’t want to walk around with the foxy chick named Rufus!
i do <3
i have been getting more dyes from plant nodes than from mob drops,
the other day i got a Mushroom Dye from some Button Mushrooms.
i should have sold it Unidentified. :p
very fast then…
any repeating pattern in the movements? maybe lurk in wait until she passes?
(there is one more bot with them, but she moves so fast I can’t even get a clear picture of her name to report her).
left click on the avatar > when targeted, right click on the portrait > report > botting.
the Gnarled Walking Stick is decent enough.
not a fan of the GW weapons, one part of the game i disliked.
whoever designed those seems to have had a hand in GW2 weapons, but not all of them, so there are some i can tolerate if not like.
how much u need to smart to make beter or STICK on targeth sistem !!!!!!
about that much.
i posted this in the now-buried ex-sticky semi-official thread the other day:
The sceptic in me imagines that this reward has taken so long because it involves creating a T-Shirt to be worn as Town Clothes which says:
I Took Part In The Ancient Karka Event And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt
then someone replied…
“Would be the first time i have bothered with town clothes, i would wear it.”
:p
90% of items right now sell for 1 copper over what you can sell them to a vendor.
i love made up statistics.
oddly, anything i buy from the TP doesnt fall into this “90%”
people who are “playing the market” aren’t.
they are ripping off other players to line their pockets.
“flipping” is not a mini-game.
if everyone who was spending all day and night cuddling the TP merchant would actually go out and play the actual game,
there would be plenty of cheap mats in the TP.
Anet needs to restrict market manipulation, otherwise everything will just get more and more expensive – flip after flip after flip…
10- No tools:
i have met plenty so far.
this subject has been a thread before.
the answer is the same, there is no point.
make your own guild and get some extra bank space.
66 Warrior – 110 deaths, 117 hours.
41 Elementalist -113 deaths, 83 hours.
20 Necromancer – 48 deaths, 18 hours.
16 Necromancer – 51 deaths, 22 hours.
32 Ranger – 44 deaths, 66 hours.
22 Ranger – 13 deaths, 21 hours.
42 Thief – 138 deaths, 90 hours.
35 Engineer – 36 deaths, 61hours.
21 Mesmer – 44 deaths, 29 hours.
until i checked deaths/age on my characters,
i would have guessed that my warrior was the best survivor,
but the numbers prove that my rangers are far better, and my engineer is uber.
(i dont have a guardian yet).
all my stats are open world PVE only, no dungeons, no PVP, no WvW.

that is a super-cute saviour.
i got really confused the other day when an npc revived me,
i even thanked him like a player..
then later i was in a story instance and an npc we were supposed to save came running from his barricade to revive me in the middle of a battle, so cool.
when two or more commanders are in LA, they are usually hanging around the MF/Bank/TP area.
on the minimap both icons then overlay each other and flicker constantly,
the human eye is designed to detect movement and react to it,
causing people to be constantly drawn to the flickering blue icons on the minimap.
this is highly annoying, and non-commander players have no option to disable it.
if you are a commander, you should turn the icon off in cities,
because you and only you can turn it on and off.
“with great power comes great responsibilty”
you have total control of the icon, you are responsible for it.
if someone whispers insults, report them and block them.
making a thread about it seems as attention seeking as the icon itself.
i get that you are a nice person and are doing your best for your guild etc,
i just dont care.
i enjoy soloing the low level enemy-controlled events,
always makes me feel heroic, even if it takes ages.
i fought and killed the Nageling Giant solo,
took about 30 minutes and dropped rubbish loot,
but the feeling of success made it worth it.
that is the graphic culling employed but the game engine, server-side manipulated.
it’s not your computer or your connection.
they keep fiddling with the culling settings and it still doesnt function properly.
All affected players will receive a reward regardless of whether or not they have contacted Support. We’re working very hard on this, and you should have a reward in your in-game mail early next week.
The sceptic in me imagines that this reward has taken so long because it involves creating a T-Shirt to be worn as Town Clothes which says:
“I Took Part In The Ancient Karka Event And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt”
:p
Plus there is stuff like the Norn light cultural, which nobody ever uses any tier of.
Agreed, as i said earlier in this thread, Norn Tier 2 Medium and Heavy = Good
Norn Tier 1-3 Light = Bad
what happened to skimpy light armour?
sadface.
The Djinius.
+15
i like the expensive unidentified dye,
playing low level, it’s the only drop worth selling on TP.
and yes, they do seem to drop more in low level maps, try Queensdale.
80 is as odd a number as 20 was in GW.
100 seems much nicer.
increase to 100 please.
i have 9 character slots, so i always have 2 i cannot see on login.
being able to see all 9 would be nice,
being able to see them all side by side across the entire screen would be super!
i have had this in other games, it was good seeing all my avatars lined up like a gang.
One of the very cool features of GW2 is that you get to pick a UNIQUE name, not a name that someone on every server has.
You and only you can have your name.
i wish this were so, but with non-english keyboards (or just using alt-codes),
people are re-using names that have already gone.
so unless you have a name without vowels, it isnt unique.
then there are also the names using all caps…
I am underwhelmed by the style of Tier 3 Cultural Armour,
so i shall never worry if i have enough gold to afford it,
because it’s fugly and i don’t want it.
The only Cultural Armour i actually like is the Tier 2 Norn Heavy & Medium.
After buying those two sets, i have not seen anyone else wearing them,
so the exclusivity is present at Tier 2, job done.
Hi Moderator.1462,
we are being patient.
it would just be nice if information was faster than 10 Days.
the last email i had from support said “early next week” before we hear something,
it is now wednesday, pretty much as late in the “early week” as you can get,
still nothing.
i sent another request for information via my ticket and continue to wait for their decision…
lordkrall,
i shall mini-chill.
lordkrall,
it is also possible that they will add mini-housing also,
mini-wvw and mini-pvp, perhaps even mini-dungeons…
GW has polymock and surprisingly does not include it’s years and years worth of minis,
try and give new players facts not fiction.
minis just follow you around, they do nothing useful other than act like a small useless pet.
I feel sorry for all the full stops, commas, and question marks that died to make your post happen.
(edited by Mimizu.7340)
unsure exactly how this applies to someone like me,
i dont group, dungeon, pvp or wvw.
threads like this just seem patronising.
please understand that sweeping generalisms are exactly that.
but perhaps if more people were like me, we wouldnt need threads like this to exist.
so in principle i agree, although the premise is faulty.
Lord Funk,
i opened a ticket in Support for it,
they always answer with an auto- response email,
then another email (from an actual person) when the issue has been looked into.
the ticket stays open until it has been resolved,
you can also add further information at any time.
no sure how well filing a bug report for this will serve you.
have a look here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page
Gav, i have had another email from support about this,
they said they would let us know “early next week”,
so expect something monday/tuesday.
i think that yes, a lot of people are caught on the Fractal treadmill and cant get off.
but many are simply uninstalling/moving on/playing something else/having a break after the big patch last weekend.
i lost my motivation to play for a few days, but i am back making another alt and doing some mostly solo pve.
i have seen a few others along the way, just enough to keep me losing my motivation again.
(edited by Mimizu.7340)
great post, i do a lot of this sort of thing.
always gives a little reward of “yay i did it!”
