Running past mobs is not an exploit! It’s a risk you take if you want to save time, although in some cases (e.g. AC or CoF) it can be much easier to run past than to fight. The problem is that in only a few places (dredge at the end of the dredge fractal) is it worth killing the mobs for their drops.
I don’t see any problem when you’re standing next to the NPC, but when you can hear them from across the map, it’s extremely annoying. They fixed the Infinite Coil Commander so I guess there’s a good chance they’ll fix some of the others.
when i preveiw armor i want it to look like the dyes i already have, that would be enough for me
Yes but that’s just you – personally I want to preview a dye before I spend several gold on it…
Of course, this would cause uproar amongst the community and a massive amount of complaints about dungeons, but that’s the point.
Your plan is to annoy as many people as possible? I thought ANet were already doing that…
Applying this to the entire game would be absurd, but adding an area like Codex Arena in GW1 would be lush. Codex was a lot of fun.
Are you saying that you have difficulty swimming in your usual form..?
“Look, I think we need more spies!” or something…(in CoF!) x 4000!
You’ve heard it 4000 times and you’re still quoting it wrong?
if you stood on top of each other like that in real life and used weapons you’d mess each other up
So you want the game to have FRIENDLY FIRE!? I’m suuuuure nobody would be able to exploit that…
His system is for gold AND tokens…
Sooo a PvP transmutation stone? Sounds good.
I agree with this, but as an avid PvP player, only on one condition:
Add special skins that can only be earned in PvP, and can be converted for use in PvE. Each set could be based on the rank animals.
Hopefully this would appease all the idiots crying that there’s nothing to grind for in PvP…
This wouldn’t punish anyone for being fast – the square root mechanic means that faster groups will have the opportunity to run the dungeon more frequently and so still make more tokens than a slow group. I’m assuming that DR would be removed, and that bosses would still drop silver, so it would be very profitable to farm the same dungeon over and over… whether or not you consider that a problem is another matter.
Unfortunately this doesn’t fully address the fact that people are still encouraged to avoid the more challenging dungeons (like Arah) because they’re not as rewarding as the simple easy ones (like CoF). It would help a bit though.
Bone Dragon Staff, the Scepter of Orr… stuff like this could surely be embellished to become legendary weapons
It’s probably the most over powered heal in the game… on a GUARDIAN… and you want to buff it?!
A Master of Damage would be better.
How did you get those numbers?
Press ` (the button left of 1)!
Why are people obsessed with the idea of GvG being part of WvW? Assuming GvG does get implemented (and I hope it does), it’ll be classified as TPvP because that’s basically what it is…
…or are you really hoping GvG will have supply, fortifications, random PvE events scattered around the place, and people hopping in to get their world completions?
Guild masters are going to use this to kick people
Actually we already have the kick button for that. No additional features are required to facilitate kicking..!
This feature would give them a great reason to NOT kick people. Why would you be against that? Are you afraid your officers will realise you’re inactive?
…are you talking about with or without her clothes on? I support both suggestions!
I love this idea! There are plenty of things ANet could do to make looting less painful, and this is one of them.
There is a flaw in that, what if someone logs in and no one saw them. And they don’t play during the same time zone, how do know we didn’t miss someone.
If they never play with other guild members, you’re hardly going to miss them…
They actually did this in the beta and it was really cool, except nobody knew what was going on until we were thrown in there. Being able to mentally prepare in advance would make it a lot more interesting IMO!
Shutting down WvW at any time of the day is completely ridiculous, but for those who think night-capping is fair, consider this:
Imagine you have a match-up with 3 equally populated, skilled, and organised servers. Let’s say two of them are based in NA timezones, and the other one is primarily Asian. The Asian prime time begins as the NA servers hit their dead hours, but when the two NA servers are awake, most of the Asians have gone to bed.
This means that for half of the day, the two NA servers can control all the maps, with no resistance from the Asians. Then they go to bed, the Asian server caps everything and holds it for ~12 hours.
Thus, each NA server controls half the map during their daytime and none of it at night; this is equivalent to 25% coverage, whereas the Asians have full PPT all night long, which gives them as many points as both NA servers put together. Even if the NA choose to double team the Asians, they can’t beat them.
That is how night-capping works – not by being more organised or having a bigger population, but by having more people awake when BOTH of the enemy servers are asleep. Telling people to modify their sleeping patterns or quit their jobs is absurd; stop saying it.
What is a non-warrior picks up the banner..?
Saying a Ranger shouldn’t have to use their pet is like saying an Elementalist shouldn’t have to cycle elements to be good. Can an elementalist just stick to one element and never switch, sure, but they won’t be good.
I agree with the rest of what you’re saying, but the Conjure Lightning Hammer ele glass cannon build camps on water the whole time and is extremely effective. However, the reason for this is because of traits that are based on your unique mechanic.
I guess the only problem with this is that it’d break immersion – in GW1 only a handful of NPCs did this, and those seemed to have some sort of excuse.
This would prevent teams from wiping, waypointing and running back to the boss before the NPC dies (avoiding a reset)…
You’re obviously enjoying the game plenty if you’re still playing it when you should be sleeping. If you don’t want to gather the waypoints on a 2nd char, why are you doing so? There is absolutely no requirement for this.
bring back Embark Beach..!
Your idea involves a lot of unnecessary changes that really don’t help at all in the end. They would have to rework the entire system for what reason? Besides, I think you may be forgetting the fact that it is implemented as a gold sink. The whole idea is that it does take gold, not any other currency.
Personally I’ve never felt any desire to contribute any gold to upgrades. Call me selfish but it doesn’t seem at all worthwhile, so for me at least it’s failing to sink any gold. Surely a good gold sink is one that actively encourages you to spend? The gem store does that really well. Taking a few gold from a handful of people in WvW (not a profitable area) doesn’t seem very effective at all.
You people still can’t accept the fact WP’s shouldn’t been the only way to get to a point.
+1 for mounts.
+ another 1 for Aion wings ^^ (High Prestige)That’s your opinion, you can’t call other people wrong for their opinions.
Also Aion wings? Like flying? That wouldn’t work, GW2 isn’t an open world system, you have to go through zone portals to reach the next zone. With that fact alone, flying would not work, so no to flying. If you’re talking about hovering with 0 difference between having a pair of wings and a land mount in all but visuals, then that’s a different issue.
In GW1, Aion wings was just an emote that gave you wings for a few seconds. It didn’t grant any abilities at all, which makes me wonder why it was mentioned on this thread about mounts…
My idea would allow more than one guild to claim an objective, and rather than simply talking to the NPC to claim it, you would need to order an upgrade.
An auto loot will be coming in a patch sometimes
…really? Link to the source of this information, please?
Are you seriously suggesting that people should lose money just by being in a WvW map? That is a horrible idea!
Really the whole upgrading system ought to be changed – it shouldn’t cost money at all. Wouldn’t it be awesome if they linked it to the guild claimer and made it cost influence?
Out of curiosity, what stuff do you have in your bank? I have 2 tabs of dungeon tokens and 3 with a bunch of random equipment that I’ll mostly never use, as well as quite a lot of other stuff… and yet I have plenty of space left over. I can’t imagine what account bound items you could possibly be storing to take up all that room.
Still, I support this suggestion as a valid means for ANet to squeeze more money that they might actually spend on something useful.
Wow, I can see a lot of thought has gone into this. ANet, PLEASE implement this suggestion – it would really improve the game.
I was inspired by a few friends who play only ONE class, do literally everything with it and simply love it, I think those people should be rewarded
Did I misunderstand your suggestion then, or would it in fact require people to play EVERY profession extensively in order to get full rewards?
i don’t own a thief and you listed 2 skills for thief to catch up… how is that overpowered? 2 skills?
Please do not post if you don’t own a thief, please post only if own a thief and/or know the mechanics of the thief. Thank you!
I own a thief level 5 i use it only for PVP. I kick butt..
That’s a bit harsh, demanding that people don’t ask questions…
The answer is that neither of those skills has a cooldown. Thieves have more ways to get away, as well as quite a few snares to slow down whomever they’re chasing.
or you could just not implement this at all, which would completely eliminate the problem (=
a nice rebalancing of CoF p1
Take the boss from the end of the dredge fractal and slap it at the end of CoF 1.
I have EIGHT characters with world completion, and I WvW every day. It wasn’t difficult to map the areas, and it was only slightly annoying. My issue is that there’s no reason for it to be there and I would like to see pointless aspects of PvE removed from what ought to be a primarily PvP area.
WvW shouldn’t be part of world completion, because it’s in the Mists, and therefore not part of the WORLD. PoIs in dungeons, on the other hand…
Seriously, I don’t get why any serious WvWer would argue in favour of encouraging PvEers to fill up the maps.
That’s a valid point, although in my example I assume the person isn’t a troll – they just don’t care to waste their time reviving a fully defeated player for a small reward; it’s just inefficient. Maybe make it so if you use the beacon and then actually res them, you get some worthwhile amount of karma?
VIRTUE OF JUSTICE
…for real
It would actually be a nice addition – try looking at it from the point of view of a dead guy. You’re about to waypoint, when you see someone running towards you. You patiently wait as they dispatch the mobs that kill you, and then when you think they’re going to revive you, they just run off, adding insult to injury.
spoilers are in this thread
You know when you click on the “No”, it disappears? So it just says “spoilers are in this thread” xD
How many people clicked on this thread looking for the spoilers?
I love the idea, particularly the part about getting laurels =D The only problem is the bonus, because most bosses are unique to a single path. I believe the following are the only exceptions (correct me if I’m wrong):
Queen Spider (AC)
Cave Troll (AC)
Lieutenant Kholer (AC)
Sure-Shot Seamus (CM)
Greater Nightmare Vine (TA)
Nightmare Tree (TA)
Subject Alpha (CoE)
Mark T-B34RC3 (CoE)
Giganticus Lupicus (Arah)
Let’s forget Kudu koz he’s from story modes. If we counted him I suppose we’d have to permit Gaheron Baelfire too…
For most bosses (including all the ones in CoF and HotW), you couldn’t have a bonus that wasn’t A) finish the path you already did half of or
do a completely different path, which are pretty meaningkitten nuses. So yeah, fantastic idea overall but maybe let’s forget the bonus? In some cases it’ll be a choice (Nightmare Tree: which path of TA shall we do?) and in others there’ll be a specified path (Bloodstone Shard: anyone still need Arah 4 for dungeon master?) – that doesn’t sound like a problem to me, provided the rewards are appropriately balanced like they were in GW1. Add bonuses when Hard Mode is implemented IMO..!
They are working on it.
It does however require quite a bit more work than culling removal for WvW.
Why? Wouldn’t it work exactly the same?
