That engineer spec will “burst” you for 10-12 stacks of confusion. If you just go spamming buttons when you have all those stacks you will melt like butter. Worst case, wait out the stacks. Otherwise, cleanse it. Best case, use your OH Dagger #4 to put those stacks on HIM.
I’m curious if they couldn’t just make the events start at the same times across all servers. Instead of the spawn windows and different servers popping at different times, the events could have a hard and consistent spawn schedule. Then, even if you get placed in overflow — the event still happens.
It may be a more rigid solution than the developers are hoping for, but I think it may be the simplest and most effective.
So sad what duels have come to…. If your not a crap load of bunker you never win or the fight never ends.People need to take off there training wheels and learn to fight without bunker builds.
Skill comes from fighting and know your class not hoping your bunker is stronger…
And here I thought skill meant overcoming challenges outside your comfort zone.
“Hey, pitcher, I’m sick and tired of those curveballs. Real pitchers only throw fastballs down the middle.”
I don’t think TC belongs in T3 with you guys, the problem is, I don’t think we belong in T2 either, we’re in that medium phase where we’re too big for one tier to give them any real fun and not quite formidable enough yet for T2, we’re getting there but for the time being we’re stuck with each other.
I don’t think they belong with BG but TC seems every bit as strong as FA maybe stronger. I also think during NA prime TC is better than Kaineng. FA/TC/Kain in T2 could be a good matchup. Nobody really knows where SoS ends up so I am hopeful they are a solid T3 server rather than a T2 that causes T2 servers to bounce every week between T2/T3.
TC is a solid T2. Now servers do ebb and flow and things change so they go up and down but regardless. We don’t belong with DB and Mag.
TC does not have the coverage, we all know that but may I remind you that on every reset night TC led the field in points, had massive fights and then slipped into second or third the next morning. And then something odd happened for whatever reason we just didn’t show up consistently throughout the week.
Every reset, 150-200 people are in mumble, next night half or two thirds of that, a couple of days later there are no more than half the numbers that showed up on reset for the rest of the week.Hey, people have lives to live, gaming isn’t everything so go figure. My point is that it is what it is.Some people uttered in public that they wanted to try R3 so here we are, the world didn’t stop turning but it should clearly show that R3 is not for TC.
Rank 2 is much more in line with our average week long numbers even though we get clobbered by BG partly due to our number drops but the game play was never about winning or losing, it was about being matched up in a more competitive match.I for one just hope this is no longer than a 2 week stint and that FA is there when we get there. They got there on their own, maybe got some coverage, weird scaling system yada, yada, yada.I just want to pound them into the ground like a tent stake again
Depending on how things go up in T2, you guys might be here for 3 weeks at least. SoS is in 3rd, but not exactly being blown out, so they’re going to have to fall one rank at a time.
I’m worried that SoS will end up a 2.5 server. T2 will shake out and KN/FA/TC will have fun there, but I’m guessing the T3/4 situation will be exactly the same as it is now, just with SoS in that steamrolling green position instead of FA / TC. But with the inherent volatility of a falling server, anything can still happen.
Specifically, what times are you playing? Like midnight – 3 AM PST, or what? Unfortunately, the term “night time NA” covers a large swath of possible times.
Prime time for whom? Are you really going to say that the people playing on my server from halfway across the world are somehow less valid and deserve less points for their efforts?
I’m surprised you didn’t just ask for the game to revolve around you. Oh, but you did.
If you’re having a hard time using confusion, you can always keep the same build but swap some of the abilities and traits before you try to take the camp. When I ran that build, I would commonly switch to GS / Staff and make my traits more of a phantasm setup. It’s not perfect, but it worked better for me personally against NPC’s than trying to stick with the confusion.
And if you learn to read posts you will stop posting your lol-PVE advices to the WvWer.
I find it kind of hysterical that you lord over us that you play a lot of WvW. It’s easily the most mindless aspect of the entire game.
It’s the only REAL version of this game, and if you’re not smashing your zerg into another zerg, you’re a scrub “lol pve” and should just quit posting in his forum. *pounds chest
On a serious note, if you take a lot of Retal damage using FT, you could just not use it. Not every Kit and Weapon are ideal for every situation.
@SilverWF — calm down just a little bit, please. Your entire post about ArenaNet is just simply fabricated nonsense. Phineas and others are trying to have a rational discussion while you’re slamming them and calling them trolls. I understand you are not a fan of the Kit Refinement change, but you don’t have to be nasty to your fellow players in explaining that.
I do hate to see the buff train with the nerf caboose, which seems to happen every patch.
But, realistically, I see this as a positive first step. I felt what Kit Refinement could do was a little much already — and if there are improvements in other areas, I can see the flood of tears incoming. The point is actually to use all those skills you take the Kits for, not to spam between them for the Refinement proc. I know it’s bitter medicine, but it’s necessary.
I think they’re going to be watching closely how these changes go, and use that data to move forward with this class.
I think buying them for gold is just fine. I can get behind an idea of guilds being able to “own” a title, to keep people from jumping ship after a guild pays for one.
But as far as “newb” commanders ruining your game, get over it. If they’re learning, help them. If they’re terrible jerks, then spread the word and people won’t follow them. If they pick up a mindless follower or two, it’s not the end of the world.
It’s a small problem that can mainly be addressed by action in your own community, it doesn’t need a systematic change to resolve it.
Dunno if the OP is just trolling but ever heard of the law of parsimony? It’s much more complex and difficult to assume and prove that engineers are suffering from a really bad player based in comparison to ALL OTHER CLASSES than having a class that is relatively underpowered compared to others (or at least much more difficult to use and requires specialization of traits).
It’s like having a blackout in your home and you’re assuming that the cause was something like an earthquake caused some damage tot he power lines rather than a fuse breaking.
These L2P threads really need to stop making sweeping generalizations about the player base.
Thank you!
I’m so tired of the tired argument that X class is only strong because people can’t figure them out, and Y class is only weak because people can’t figure them out. “L2P!”
It just makes no sense at all. There is no reason to believe a statistically significant amount of ‘skilled’ players will choose one particular class over another.
I see the problem is that Engineer doesn’t really have the “introductory” low-skill cap, high reward spec some of the other classes enjoy. The diversity that is the hallmark of the Engineer may also be what keeps that from ever happening.
I’ve hit 80 on my Mesmer and it has been a great ride, but it’s time for a change.
I’m wondering what other mesmers think are fun alts for solo PvE. I really love the mobility of phase retreat, ileap and blink. But I also love the fact that I didn’t need to employ all of those skills in every fight just to get by.
I’ve played Guardian up to 56, but I just got bored. You can kill pretty quick, you don’t die, but it I never really felt I had to adapt to any situation, beyond swapping GS for mace . I feel like warrior and ranger would probably be the same, but I’ve never tried them.
I’ve played a D/D ele up to 24, and while the mobility is ridiculous, the constant button mashing/attunement swapping wears me out. I like that frenetic play style, but I felt like it was necessary in nearly every fight. It’s possible I’m doing it wrong, or there are weapon choices other than D/D that I should explore.
I know very little about Thief, Engineer and Necromancer. Thief seems like something I might enjoy, and is how I’m leaning right now. I’ve always been interested in Necro, just because it looks cool, but I just don’t understand the mechanics at all. Engineer just seems meh.
I’ve pretty well shelved my Mesmer and have been leveling both a Necro and an Engineer.
The Necro is amazingly resilient; both condition damage and power builds are fun and effective. I’ve been using a condition oriented minion build of late, and it’s really effective if your minions actually attack your target.
The Engineer took a long time to get off the ground. With so many options and abilities, it took considerable time to figure out some combinations that worked well for me. I took that as a challenge though, and once I found those combinations, I’ve really been enjoying it more than any other class I’ve tried so far. From your description of what you liked and didn’t like about your Ele, the Engineer may be right up your alley also.
I also played Thief at release, and got him up to 50ish before I took over the Mesmer full time. I try to go back to play him some now, but I really can’t stand it. It, in my mind, is very awesome in PvP and very lackluster in PvE. But that’s just my opinion, not a fact by any stretch.
You’re not the first to do this, you’re just red guard copy cats.
I’m willing to bet that just because you dropped that name, you have watched videos and read things to make yourself a better player.
I’m willing to bet you have used some of the information others who play this game have posted online to tune your build and improve your game.
So, why would you debase yourself in an attempt to degrade your opponents for using … tactics? If they’re as you say, Red Guard copycats, why aren’t you countering their ‘highly predictable’ tactics with some brilliant maneuvers of your own?
To summarize, I don’t think it’s right to suggest that learning from others is a bad thing.
(edited by Mister Mustard.7203)
I’m going to be unhelpful and sit on the fence.
If you choose Vitality, you’re playing to your strength. Necro has a high base health to begin with, and effectively a second health bar which scales further with Vitality.
If you choose Toughness, you’re covering a weakness. As others have said, it scales with healing and makes your existing health pool more ‘effective.’
Neither choice is wrong.
We definitly need some decent buffs. Moa is a perfect example of a really good elite skill. Hallelujha, it’s about a 10 second stun, making your enemy completely useless!
Instead we got an RNG elixer (I like tornado, but the warrior elite? Don’t get me started..), the mortar is totally useless, it breaks after 3 taken hits, long air time, and just really crappy DPS, the Grenade kit is better then mortar! And we got the supply crate which is nice actually, an AoE stun (3) some nice turrets and bandages.
Just one of the three is kind of good… Anoher argument for a buff for the engineer overall…
Moa is more of a free escape for your opponent. Plus, I’ve seen a couple people put out more damage while Moa’d then they would have otherwise. Pre-nerf, Moa was what you said, but there’s a reason the vast majority of Mesmers run MI or TW now.
As far as engineer elites go, Mortar and X need some love. I’m just worried that Supply Crate might get a stern talking-to in the process.
forget conditions critting….
why cant conditions do full damage to yellow named objects?
do you realize how frustrating / embarrassing it is to not be able to take out a gargoyle head or a mound in ascalon catacombs because you do condition damage?
Guild wars 2 condition system is a flat-out embarrassment.
Couldn’t agree more!
I can’t figure out why there is such a disconnect with how power based and condition based skills work in many aspects of the game. You can’t hit objects, you’re subject to stack limits, etc. It smacks of being a bandaid fix to some deeper design problems.
On a side note, every time I talk about how you other servers are so uncompetitive with equal numbers, people always try to bring up the score and how we aren’t doing anything for it and blah blah blah.
In reality, OG has become infamous to the point where our mere presence on a battlefield contributes to our server hugely. Even a single OG tag is enough to make an entire zerg stop what it is doing and chase in the opposite direction. Just by playing the way we play, we can make ourselves cancel out 5-6x our numbers easily. Also, we always kill more than we lose, even if it’s not as many as we’d like, meaning we’re taking more people out of the fight than our own number.
So while none of us care about the score (except that we would greatly prefer to lose and drop to t4), you better believe we do more to help our server than a lot of you who actually do care.
We care about you caring about the score because it leads to lil zerglings culling around the map and lobbing golems at empty keeps instead of interesting pvp.
That’s a really good point. Maybe sometime in the future Anet will put in some sort of structured PVP system, other than WVW, where people can “prove” their skills without having to worry about elements like server population, zerg size or capturing and holding structures they’re not interested in!
One can only hope I guess.
But that sort of system just wouldn’t offer the excitement and originality of dueling behind a supply camp.
ok guys my names Kenage a few days ago I decided to run a focus for the mesmer. I have clocked in 1000+ hours on this charater and I finally touched the focus. and I was wondering if anyone has beat me in that record if one exists lol.
and I got to say I’m glad I learned how to use it lol.
That is crazy; the first thing I do on any character is try out all the weapons to figure out what I like the most.
I’m curious, do you eat the same thing every day as well?
If you agree, please leave a comment on the tread and hopefully Anet will take a look.
Pistols on engi have one of the lowest DPS among all weapons in the game, in both straight damage and condition damage they feel like they are lacking and altho some might disagree because of the variety of damaging conditions, the DPS is actually lower than a staff mesmer, not to mention that both poison and burning become less effective when running in team as they stack on duration and not intensity.
players tend to overlook this because of the possibility of running dual sigils or using a shield and this has lead people to believe that engineers have no DPS or to permanently lock into a kit such bomb kit or flame thrower for the duration of the fight
at 4,000 Attack ( Bloodlust + Candy ) and 104% Crit Damage
Pistol avg 1,150’s with auto attack and bleeds are around 53 per tick and higest damage recorded was 4,700 with poison dart volley.
Rifle 3,000+ with auto attack and highest damage; 12k with jump shot(landing)
so yea, if you agree with the need of a balance please leave a comment even if its just “1” and maybe Anet will be kind enough to take a look idk about you but i would love to dual sigil and still be strong :P
I’m not arguing that your conclusion isn’t correct, it may or may not be. But your test is clearly biased toward the Rifle. What you’re actually saying is, “Rifle hits hardest with a lot of power,” not what I believe you intend to say which is “Pistol damage is clearly behind Rifle, even given a best case scenario.”
If you want to do it right, parse all damage over a set period of time utilizing the best stat allocation for each weapon. Each weapon needs optimal conditions to determine if one is clearly behind the other.
You also have to account for the entirety of the weapon, I don’t think any weapon is balanced only around its auto-attacks. Since Mesmer staff was brought up, I’ll use that as a perfect example. Staff is abysmal damage by itself. But once you add in two clones adding conditions of their own, and a Phantasm which hits pretty hard, the weapon can hold its own – but you need all of what it offers working together. Similarly, all of what the pistol offers (including potential offhand weapons) have to be considered if you’re going to compare it to Rifle.
If DB wasn’t playing for 2nd I think they could actually challenge FA. That would make the match interesting.
If Mag wasn’t playing for 3rd I think they could actually challenge FA. That would make the match interesting.
We don’t have the numbers to challenge FA, I think DB could. If DB played to win the match would be alot closer overall. However, they seem to like to play for 2nd.
Esse quam videri, my friend. *If we had the numbers to challenge FA, we would. *
I’m trying to think of any sort of reason why we, or anyone else, would intentionally sandbag not only a week, but a couple of months against the same opponents. It just doesn’t make sense, does it?

Now on DB Borderland , all the credits to [RET], I was just at the right time to make the video.
Did… did you just make a video of PvDoor?
The part where the Golems were attacking the gates was my favorite. You could really feel the tension.
People say its hard to drop bandages and use them? In combat you run slower so you run in a straight line and drop/pick them up right as they go down.
That’s kinda my point. It just feels clunky to me to have to run in a line for a few seconds to heal myself; it’s like the longest cast time heal in the game. I would like it more if it were 1 big bandage, with two other utility / boon drops.
I’ve been trying to get used to Med Kit as I level; while I see the obvious utility in it, the actual healing of it can be clunky to me. With the other heals, you press one button and move on, while with the kit you have to switch into it, drop the bandages, and pick them up.
Having said that, I’ve found turret to be my favorite while leveling. But I’m going to stick with the Kit a while yet to get some more practice at it.
I pretty well did the exact same thing; I’m on engineer #3 and it’s finally started to take hold on me. I’m currently 35ish.
I use dual pistols, with healing turret, grenades, elixir S, and alternate between elixir gun & flamethrower for my utilities.
For traits, I first went Firearms IV, then Tools IV, and I’m now going up Alchemy.
I’ve found that when I pull with #2, hit #3 as the mob is closing in, and #4 lights them up. Most mobs die after an auto attack or two. I have the grenades for the string of adds you’ll often get. Elixir gun helps out a lot for extra healing with the toolbelt skill and #5.
One general piece of advice from my experience: I found it best to simplify the class to begin with, and I tried to accomplish that by limiting kits. Learn your weapons first, and I mean spend a good bit of time killing things with just your weapons, no kit switching. Then put a kit in and play with it for a while. I found I got overwhelmed in a sense the first few times I tried Engi because I’d have 4 kits and my weapons, and I never really learned what I could do with each ability. When I slowed down and devoted a little more time to learning the skills and what I could do with them, my survivability and dps increased dramatically.
@Jonny.9370 and @Daecollo.9578
There is a massive difference between reacting to something you can actually see being performed and simply guessing what they will perform next. But how do you know to expect a bullrush and look for it from a warrior? Experiance has taught you that most warriors will prep 100b with a snare. You have adapted and this is no longer an issue. My argument is why do people refuse to apply this to thieves as well?
I am not some sort of elitist and will never profess to be some sort of pro, and I don’t want to come across as someone trying to say L2P, but even I know that there are counters to the BackStab. Especially as a thief player myself. One thing I do notice is often times people will see me then suddenly go on the defensive, before the fight even begins. My GC in WvW has a little over 10k hp with 104 crit damage and 14k with 62 crit dmg in sPVP. If you come to me as glass, you will die in 2-4 seconds, but the same goes for me. In other words, don’t always wait for me to initiate because that automatically puts me at an advantage.
I have to say, however, trying to think of it from other perspectives has lead me to think that maybe if Steal was not on a seperate GCD from everything else, there would be less of an issue. As it is now, Mug and CnD occur simultaneously and puts you in the perfect position for BS, effectively nulling the cast time of CnD where you would be visible to the opponent. I think that is what you are trying to tell me.
Have you thought that perhaps people are adapting and trying to avoid the known combos. But that they’re still failing, and thus still angry?
The “people just don’t know how to counter” argument may have been valid for a month or two. If we’re still saying, “L2P” to people who have been trying for 6 months, doesn’t that mean there may be an issue? If not, exactly how long is something a “L2P” issue?
To me, I think it’s much more of a skill gap than a knowledge gap. Players on the higher end of the skill spectrum seem to handle thieves fine, meaning they win some, they lose some. Moderate to lower skilled players tend to get their kitten handed to them by thieves. I would love to see a world where classes are balanced across all skill levels, but I get the feeling that won’t happen any time soon.
So… Why do you have to post something like this?
So…Why do you have to post something like this?
OP, you’ve hit on something I’ve been curious about reading some of the threads here in the W3 forums in particular. I’ve been curious about what extent people have played organized team sports in the past, and how that experience translates in one’s attitude toward winning or losing in a video game.
I want to say that people who did play some sort of team sport probably have a higher tolerance for not coming in first, but that could be a very wrong assumption.
No point in complaining about P/D thieves. Sure they’re hard to catch, but good condition removal practically nullifies their effectiveness to the point that you can almost ignore them.
At this point, I’m not so much complaining about P/D thieves, I’m complaining that your argument to defend them is incredibly weak.
By your logic, any class that uses condition damage can just basically be ignored.
…D/D Thieves are quite similar in that they use #1 #2 -or- #3 depending on power/cond build, and #5 and are very effective.
You forget the number 4 to cripple and catch fleeing opponents. Thats … all 5?
P/D is Pistol w/ Offhand Dagger so #5 is Cloak and Dagger which gives stealth. They then use the pistol stealth attack (Sneak Attack) which has decent direct damage, applies 5 bleeds, and uses 0 initiative
It’s direct damage is quite poor, to use effective you should really focus on the bleeds (+duration, +condition damage), which rules out power based weapons (just about everything else)
… Yes, in some the zergs are horrible, but in others you see people try to chain CCs but they are evaded and the thief stealths …
Blind and CC is the way to go, if a zerg fails to catch a thief it’s really their fault. There’s only a limited amount of endurance and stun breaking. It’s more the zerg’s hive-mind that let’s them escape.
What are you talking about with what type of damage sneak attack is? Whether it’s condition damage or power, it still hurts. There are plenty of videos of P/D thieves trolling about nigh invincible. You can bury your head in the sand and pretend they don’t exist, but don’t make pointless arguments to defend it if so.
Also, how does being in a group help anyone catch up to an escaping thief? Between stealth utilities, blinds, swiftness on dodge, SB 5 / Dagger 2, a thief can run from 50 players as well as 1. If you get caught by the zerg, you probably die, but you still have to get caught.
I’ve reported roughly 10 hackers so far this matchup, ALL of them from Dragonbrand.
While I don’t blame the entire server for the actions of 10 people, it is concerning to see this many in only 2 days so far, from the same server.
What are the odds!? 51 servers in the world, and somehow, we have all the hackers.
Obviously, the hackers are the same ones conspiring to double team Maguuma.
Why does DB have so many hackers who double team Maguuma? Seriously, you guys are approaching Emry Bay’s animosity.
Only Maguuma can answer that question. Something in the past must have been done to offend all the hackers. And now you’re suffering some sort of Kill Bill-esque ninja hacking retribution. Run while you can.

Nay.
I have no problem paying a subscription fee; Between Everquest 1&2, WoW, Rift, and a few other forgettable titles, I had an active MMO subscription for about 12 years.
But this game lacks a few things I would expect with a subscription, mainly multi-group pve content and not being subjected to other players hacking.
If any Maguumans hack…please talk about it here..call out the guilds. Not so sure why DB is trying to keep things so hush hush.
Read the forum rules.
The pertinent parts:
Also, if you witness suspected behavior in game that could be violations of the in-game Rules of Conduct, please do not post these reports on the forum, as we’ll have to remove them. Any in-game misbehavior should be reported via the in-game report tool or through the ticketing system to our Customer Support Team with all required details such as screenshots, videos etc… Both methods will help.
Secondly, regarding exploits: posting exploits on the forum is not permitted as the forum moderation team does not investigate those issues. That’s why exploits have to be sent to the following address: exploits@arena.net or to our Customer Support Team as explained above. Reports of exploits sent by either of these two methods reach the correct people who can then investigate.
messies have 3 phantasms that can be summomed from utility slots without targets. they also have clones on dodgw traits thats only need combat, no targets.
I will definitely test this, especially since I played a Mesmer for a month before Engi and never even noticed. It’s certainly very interesting. I am curious about the 3 utility skills you reference in particular though, since as far as I’m aware there are only 2 explicit Phantasm skills. I imagine you are mixing it with the Clone skills in language?
Phantasmal Defender + Disenchanter are the only two I could come up with. I’m also 51% sure that Disenchanter requires a target, but I haven’t used either of those abilities in quite some time.
The dodge roll clone also goes after the nearest viable target, so while it may spawn, it’s probably running off to fight that moa that just aggroed.
I see a lot of animosity beginning early in these threads just because people don’t like to lose and like losing badly even more.
This kind of comment really shows the disconnect in the discussion, in my opinion.
You seem to be trying to make a sincere post, so I will take it on that face value, but the truth is that the only server that ‘on average’ cares about winning, is Kain. Neither DB nor Mag won last week either, and neither server is likely to win this coming week. Free transfers ended, we all choose to come to our new homes, or stay with old ones, knowing the situation of those servers and if winning was our concern, we would have picked different servers.
I do think there’s some truth to his comment, with the caveat that people also act like idiots when they’re winning easily.
While winning may not be the reason we play, I think it’s hard to say that both servers are completely neutral about the outcome. Were the matchup close, would that change the tone on the forums?
It seems to me that people say some really stupid things when they’re winning or losing big. Even fights tend to be much more respectful.
Why didn’t you transfer to a 24 hour coverage server when they were free?
The option still exists for you to do so, albeit with a fee.
My only other solution is for you to move to Australia.
Mesmers can be really really slippery too, multiple stealths, clones, teleport and even portal. I’ve left fights behind where they didnt even know I was gone for a while.
Yes, they can be, but the Mesmer seriously lacks in the speed department. You may not realize they’re gone, but it only takes 5 seconds to run them down.
I would trade that DS refilling with a teleport or target break anytime hehe!
I can’t say it’s useless, but unless you’re near a safe spot (keep/legendary guard/friends) you’re one dead necro, DS won’t make it long enough against 3+ opponents, and you’re still vulnerable to cripple, knockback etc. I can run far with 3-4 on my back, but I can’t outrun them by any means. But they can outrun me if things goes wrong for them. I really thinks that’s were it hurt the most.
I have great success with my necro, and I’ve tried many builds, but my success lately mostly come from the fact that I know what I can’t do. Contrary to my others classes (mesmer, guardian, ele, even engi) who can normally run away from a fight they don’t like, or have invulnerability or target break, when on my necro, I accept the fact I’m done for if I overextend.
So do most of the other classes. Thief and Ele are perhaps the only two who can consistently escape bad situations. It’s apparent this class isn’t supposed to be able to escape, so if that’s what you’re trying to do you’re probably not utilizing your tools to their utmost potential.
Now, if you wish to argue that Necro doesn’t gain enough survival-oriented tricks and cooldowns to compensate for that lack of effective escape mechanisms, I think you may be on to something.
Let’s let them finish up fixing the issues causing the alleged perma-stealth first. It’s a rendering issue when they come out of stealth, and it’s being worked on.
I said the same thing around September through October. Here it is in February, and if I hold my breath for a second longer waiting for that fix, I’ll be dead.
I would’ve been impressed with Kaineng if they held their own on reset night. Heck it would make some kind of statement if Kaineng held their own during reset night in T4.
But alas, when this is pointed out, there’s just a lot of denial and excuses. Don’t blame some of us for thinking that Kaineng is carried by Koreans.
But why does it matter how they get their points?
Do you have to be beaten exactly on your terms, exactly how you want to be played, for it to be respectful? If an opponent capitalizes on an advantage, that’s somehow underhanded behavior?
The battle is between servers, not individuals or guilds. If you care about the outcome, then you simply have to acknowledge that the entirety of what that server offers is what you get.
If you don’t care about the outcome, only the fight, then why even comment about what happens when you’re asleep?
May i ask what the point is in having NA/Euro/Asian servers? I mean it obviously is not to let you play with the people in your zone. If you were to follow that guideline then you would simply be capped the other 2/3 of the time when its not your zone. Why not just open up a sever list and let people choose so there is much better coverage across all zones?
I’ve thought that from day 1. I understand they want you local so you’re not having issues with latency, but WvW is affected greatly by 24 hour coverage. I think having regional servers for a 24 hour game is basically ignorant, but we can only work with what we’ve been given.
So Kaineng get all their points when everyone sleeps? .. with full maps Kaineng was really weak.. I’m a little dissapointed
This is a 24 hour game with players from across the globe. Are you saying you’re disappointed with your own server’s lack of night-time coverage, or are you trying to imply that points shouldn’t count when you’re asleep?
I’m fairly certain that’s why transfers were free for so long. Different tiers / servers offered different play styles.
Some folks only like to be on top, and that’s what they find fun and why they play.
Some find other things enjoyable, perhaps attempting to climb the ladder, or build a community and play regardless of outcome.
Aaaand we’re dominating them again. Surprise.
Way to keep the thread classy
Regardless of watching a huge draguuma force attack together, I still had alot of fun, and got some much needed practice I just wonder how long you guys can keep this pressure going. See you guys online
Let’s just get it out of the way from the get-go.
You will be attacked at one of your keeps by one of the opposing servers.
In the midst of that epic fight, the 3rd server will arrive and try to poach the keep.
This isn’t “Draguuma,” this is how things are. No one is attacking together, people are just looking for the weakest point and exploiting it. See you online!
DB please teach your players what duelling is, when players are so far away from points and well so far away it isn’t funny, makes you wonder are they trying to keep outta WvW to have duels, you guys one worst servers outta everyone for it.
DB windmill for duel. Please no zergers we will stay away from the WvW points and have no impact.
Srsly DB just delete your server already, don’t ever come to duel area again you. Players like you are not wanted in this game
First, let me say that were I to come across you guys dueling, I certainly would not interfere. But I think it’s silly for you to complain about others who may.
You want to duel, others may want to keep you from dueling; who knows why, but that’s their prerogative. But the point is your wishes aren’t automatically superior to those who see otherwise; if you have an issue with them interrupting what you were doing, just kill them, or find a different solution.
Then you sir are ignorant of the LARGE D&D fanbase thats been around since before most of us were born.
I dunno, D&D online wasn’t exactly flying off the shelves when it went live.
