Elementalist Weapon Swap

in Suggestions

Posted by: MithranArkanere.8957

MithranArkanere.8957

As long as the swap icon disappears from the UI while in combat (while the UI gets that yellowish fuzzy border), and the swap weapon command and button doesn’t work. it’ll be fine.

I’d love to be able to set two weapons to swap while in NOT in combat. Sometimes I want to use staff to run between places, but other weapons to do things for fun, and it gets quite annoying having to swap all the time, since I keep the weapons in an invisible bag, and when I swap to staff the offhand weapon ends in an equipment bag, and I have to rearrange the inventory each time.

Underwater only skills

Yah. They should make underwater versions of the skills that have no counterpart. Like the underwater turrets or maelstrom.

For example, traps should create hidden nets like the kraits have, that pop up when getting too close, or the elemental summonings should summon underwater versions of elementals, like lava for fire, iceberg for water, seafoam for air and seabed for earth. And ground targeted skills with no underwater version should have versions that are centered at either the foe or self.

What about the flamthrower? Underwater blowtorch! Less range, the same fun!

dark reverie jumping puzzle nearly impossible, platform too high

It doesn’t have to be easy, but it doesn’t have to be frustrating.

Look at Spekk’s Lavoratory or Goemm’s Lab.

Spekk’s Lavoratory lets you rety from each part of the jump, and resurrects you to the entrance if you die from a fall.
With Goemm’s Lab, you can die in some places, but it’s nothing like Dark Reverie, and if you fall, you get teleported instead going through the clouds to your dead, kissing the floor.

You can keep failing, but you can also keep trying again and again as much as you want.
They can be hard, but they are not that frustrating.

Failing until you get it right, trial and error, that can be fun.
Frustration, areas that seem to be designed tokitten off people, that is not fun.

MithranArkanere.8957

It took me over 50 tries to do it! Over 50!!

They NEED to make some changes:
- Put water down there. I had to start all times from Morgan Leap, since people didn’t resurrect me, because the place is filled with monsters, so they just run to the platforms where is safe, avoiding anything.
I even got a group of jerks laughing and dancing while corpses fell from the ceiling. And since they killed enemies on spawn, people had it easier to walk by and not helping those dead.
I had to spend almost 1 gold to revive by the waypoint, since for some strange reason waypoints in level 1-15 areas have level 80 costs when you are level 80.
Not fun.

- Allow entering if you completed Morgan’s Leap. The door doesn’t have to open, but let people go through it by using it. I opened the door every time I tried, but no one else did, so I had to start from Morgan’s Leap every time. Some people even laughed at me from the other side of the door when I asked if they could open it.
Not fun. Not fun at all.

- And for the love of Dwayna, properly place those platforms. There’s one that has a mushroom hat right in the middle of the jump, so you’ll hit it and fall to your dead when it looks like you’ll do it just fine. It doesn’t help having the camera moving around like crazy either. Suddenly turning around, or getting inside the back of my character all of a sudden mid-jump, or just shacking uncontrollably until I’m in the middle of a fall to my dead.
Not fun. Not fun at all. Not a bit.

I rarely ever get angry at anything, much less with games or fictional things. But a couple of tries more and I would have gone all angry german kid.

And this comes from a guy that got almost all achievements in Super Meat Boy and all of them in The Binding of Issac, and never got bothered a single bit by the constant deaths or tricky mechanics.

This puzzle is just wrong. Frustration is not fun.

Fall damage and rolling

in Suggestions

MithranArkanere.8957

There’s not just rolling.

If you SLIDE down a slope, you might get even more damage than if you just jump.
- Dodging right before hitting the ground should make the character break fall, roll, and take less damage.
- Sliding down a slope should increase the height at which you start taking damage.
- Rolling down a slope should combine both things, decreasing the height at which you take damage, and reducing the damage taken if dodging again before hitting the ground.

Katana, one-handed sword

in Suggestions

Posted by: MithranArkanere.8957

MithranArkanere.8957

Meh.

There’s a simpler solution.

They should add 5 ‘weaponless’ skills that change depending on profession.
Only the first one (punch) would deal damage, based on your power and level, while the rest would deal no damage, having only crowd control conditions and effects such as crippling, immobilized, blind, knockdowns, pushes, pulls, blocks, stuns and daze. Whenever you equip a weapon in one hand, but not the other, the rest of the skills are the weaponless.

Weaponless skills, unlike other weapon skills, would be unlocked with skill points. (1 the first 3, 3 the other 2)

This would make viable 1-weapon builds, and the ‘no-offhand’ thief skills an actual option.

There should be jute plants you can gather to get ‘jute fibers’ and replace the scraps with fibers. Salvaging would also get fibers instead scraps.
It’s be be basically renaming it into something you can gather, instead something you only salvage.

Jute plants then could spawn in any plant or tree spot.

Then increase the sickles to 100. Since there’ll be another thing to use it with.

There’s also invisible leader bags and safe boxes, which are basically the same thing with different material costs and inventory icons. Each armor discipline can craft normal and invisible, plus a specialty (armorsmiths make equipment boxes, clothiers material bags, and leatherworkers junk bags)

Invisible bags will keep anything in them ‘invisible’ for shops, the deposit colletible button and the compact bags button. Oh, but remember that it won’t hide items from the Trading Post.

It’s not very intuitive, but that’s how you do it in GW2.

No repair bills in WvW

in Suggestions

MithranArkanere.8957

I think repair price should depend on what defeated your, or how you died.

As of now there’s no cost for fall damage. That’s good. Otherwise jumping puzzles would be a pain.
Then, enemies in level 1-15 areas should cause less damage to your armor than enemies in level 8 areas.
And finally, defeat in WvW by a player should have a minimal cost, killing one or two monsters should get you enough to repair a piece of armor, while being defeated by a monster would have the same cost as a monster at your own level.

How? Hm… maybe, for example, by successfully completing evens and group events as the leader of a squad.
Meanwhile, their squad would appear only in the LFG panel, as his name with a yellowish squad chat color.
Once they prove they can lead, they get renown and they’ll get the icon on the map.

Then, they’ll keep that status only of they keep winning, otherwise their status decreases until their icon is no longer in the map, and their status will freeze while they are offline, so it won’t go down if they are not online.

There’s Tengu in all 3 orders, and their leader and counselors or elders or whatever they have are delivering how are they going to deal with the dragon situation.

All you have to do is make it so they decide to ally with the other races after they get reports from all Tengu that left the city, and a group of dissidents decide to split from them, still not trusting other races.

Transmutation Stone Change

in Suggestions

Posted by: MithranArkanere.8957

MithranArkanere.8957

I don’t see it as a problem either.
Simply avoid using them for every single item you get. Instead, keep them for level stage, like every 5 levels, or every 10.

It would be great, though, if there were visual slots next to the armors’ and weapons’ and you could use a mystic recipe to turn a piece of equipment into a ‘costume piece’ that can go into a visual slot and replace its appearance:
- Any pieces of equipment.
- 1 or more fine transmutation stones.
- 10 or more basic stones.
- A 4th material (The ones requiring skill points could do: philosopher stones, crystals, etc)

There could also be a collection in the hero panel, to put all those pieces, so you can collect all skins for each character that way.

That way, you could either use a stone now, and get the quick appearance, of save them, use hem together, and make that appearance available permanently, just with a much bigger cost in stones.

Please remove drop caps for farming the same monster!

in Suggestions

Posted by: MithranArkanere.8957

MithranArkanere.8957

All in all, a set of players having time to get materials would inflate the prices for the rest.

This happens in all games. There’s thos who farm and get the stuff, and those who doesn’t, and eventually the game mechanics consider that when it comes to drops.
And those who doesn’t farm end up farming too to catch up with those who do farm.
That’s why a cap is needed.
Once you hit that cap, you must do other stuff.

Farming enemies isn’t the only source of materials. You might need that material, but others may not, and so they put them on sale. Once you hit the cap, you should consider doing events, and using the money you earn to get more materials from the Trading Post.
What if you don’t like evens…?
Well… playing GW while not doing events it’s like playing Tetris without rotating pieces. You can do that… just don’t expect to get too far.

MithranArkanere.8957

NO.

Why not?

Third-party auction sites.

Auctions are BAD, VERY BAD for a game economy as they artificially increase prices instead following proper supply and demand like direct prices do.

If easy direct sales were allowed, we’ll have third party auction sites that greedy powertraders would use to make themselves a micro-economy and inflating prices instead putting those items into the Trading Post, decreasing their appearance there, which results in a loss of supply, and therefore an increase in prices.
But since they’ll trade with auctioned prices, they’ll get more in-game gold, creating a gap between what they earn and what trading post users earn, and also forcing people to use those third party sites if they want to find those items and such.

All trades should go though the Trading Post, and if you want to give something to a friend or someone you trust, you still have the mail.

Nah. It doesn’t have to be like that.

Curently we have discovered and learnable recipes.
You can’t discover learnable recipes. You must get the recipe first, then learn it, and then it’s unlocked for the character.
It won’t matter if someoneelse learns it, you still need the recipe.

So all you have to do is making these recipes also like that.
You will still need the item. If you want to unlock item X as a recipe, you will have to acquire and destroy the item first.
And if you make it a chance instead a 100% sucess, you might have to destroy several ones depending on your skill and the rarity of the item before you learn to do it.

And even then, you could make certain recipes produce only account bound items, so people can only learn them for themselves.

It would be nice if they could at least add some other back items.
Currently you can only buy the ones for 5 g (guild cape). That is quite a bit overpriced.

There could be other items that would be cool:
- Decorative sword
- Decorative double swords
- Decorative three swords (much like Anton’s in GW1)
- Decorative shield
- Quiver
- Huge <Metal name> Nugget (Made out of metals, it’s basically a big chunk of metallic rock tied to your back with ropes)
- Huge <Wood type> Log
- Bale (A bale tied to your back)
- Strange gizmo (Asura device-like backpack)
- Uzolan’s portable orchestra (Makes muziks!)
- Skritt stowaway (asuras get kits, norns get big adults, others get young skritts, makes random comments about what you are doing, like: “Go, for the eyes, go for the eyes!”)

Yesh, you can. Some items you can place in there have no visual appearance, while others do, but you can always hide them. It has that little checkbox for that.
