Hair accessory colors

Hair accessories ad underwear should be dynamically dyable, with all available dye colors unlocked by the character.

One should not have to get a makeover pack to make the hair ornament match the rest of the gear, and much less be limited to just the ornament colors.

Much like Ctrl+Right click sets auto-attack for a single skill in the bar, auto-target should be set with Alt+Right click, but this time for all skills, per skill separately.

That way, you could do things like ignoring Ground-target for a skill setting the first grenade skill to auto-target an enemy, or make it so the first Flamethrower skill does not auto-target, while keeping 2,3 and 5 auto-targeting.

Mursaat in Guild Wars 2

All I want to know about the mursaat is what happened to D’Alessio.

My theory is that the mursaat are interdimensional parasites. To survive in a world other than theirs, they need a suitable host from that world.
So in Tyria, they’ll get humans, and embed themselves in the back, and pop out those wing-like air-gills that they would also use to levitate, sense and gather magic from their surroundings.
That would also explain the mask, to cover the human faces, probably horribly disfigured from the pain of having their brains consumed by a Mursaat parasite.

Still, they seem to have 3 toes in their feet, so that would be an important physical difference, as many Tyrian creatures have 3 toes, like ettins, jotun, trolls, giants and asura, but humans are aliens with 5 toes.
If they are not getting ’boot’s that make it look like 3 toes and actually have 3, or they mutate over time or get surgically modified so they end up with 3 toes, then the human-host theory would break.
It could still be another host, but it would be a shame, as I really like he idea. As it would also explain why did they took D’Alession: To put parasite on his back. If that was the case, he could even be already dead as one of the many Mursaat that died at the hands of humans or titans.

Whatever the case, I just hope we get to know about their origin, and about what exactly happened to D’Alessio.

Slayer

  • This is true as the game is right now, but we haven’t seen the expansions. It stands to reason that they’ll add more ranks to those that are easier, and more monsters in new areas of those types of monsters less common in existing areas.

Hero
Skillful

  • I don’t think it’s that much. I have 300 skill points and only one level 80 character, and still hasn’t completed the map. The rest are 25 or lower. Then again, I have 15 characters.

Been There, Done That

  • I’d just remove the WvW points from explorer. Looks like they are already looking into the chantry’s point.

Lifetime Survivor

  • This is really annoying. I’ve earned this on about 20 times so far. I hope they fix it soon.

Hint Completion

  • You need at least one character of each profession to get them all, but you can get them all.
    I have them all .

Explorer
Legendary Collector

  • Not all titles are meant to be acquired in just a month.
    Many of them are a very, VERY, VEEERY long term goal.

Speedy Reader

  • Oh! Didn’t know about this one.
    I guess I’ll try to d it when they fix that.

Weapon Master

  • Yeah. That’s really annoying. Conditions should count. When stacking conditions from both weapons, it should count for both weapons.
    Damaging boons like retaliation should count too.

Community
Thirst Slayer

  • Nah. It’s actually not single drinks, but points.
    For example, a Flask of Gladiator Swill gives 9 points per drink.

Activities

  • Looks like you are supposed to do stuff until the “first time” achievement pops up. Then you’ll know what to do for that rank, as you have already done it once.

Kegmaster

  • The ‘skills’ refers to each single action in the activity that increases an achievement rank, like tumbling or scoring a point.

How to cut down on the Bandwagon Effect!

I would also make it so transferring to other worlds starts costing gems after 2 months from the first character is created in an account, or after 360 hours of gameplay, what happens first.

Let new players frolic around for two months for free. That should be time enough to find a guild and stay in a world.

Also, they should remove WvW points from the 100% exploration title, so WvW doesn’t get sightseers that won’t do anything for the battle, only WvW players.

All of this together should greatly help solve the WvW problems originated from transfers and non-players.

I believe there should be either:

  • Four separate steal skills you can use and keep as they change:
    • Using any of the Steals or Stolen Items would disable the other Steals and Stolen Items for 20 seconds.
    • Using an Stolen Item would recharge that slot for 60 seconds.
    • Traits would be rebalanced accordingly.
      This way you can strategically keep the ones you want for later.

or

  • Stealing should get you 4 skills.
    1. The stolen item, right away, instantly, the same as now.
    2. A skill that stealths self for couple of seconds starting disabled by 2 seconds.
    3. A shadow step back to where you were before stealing, starting disabled for 5 seconds.
    4. An additional shadow step that starts disabled for 10 seconds.
      Using one would recharge all, but you’ll get choices after you steal once.

But stealing things like kits or actual weapons would be troublesome. It would be quite hard to balance in PvP (in PvE there’s already items that mimic profession kits and weapons, like the Healing kit some asura sells)

No depositing mini-pets automatically

They should just put a miniature icon in the Hero panel, like with rangers, as you said.

Click it, and a list of names of all collections appear, so it works with any future collections that may get added (or not).
Choose a collection, and a panel like the pet selection panel appears, with all the minis in that collection, those you don’t have will appear grayed.
Choose a mini you have, and it will be automatically shown from your bank for that character, and saved, and if you teleport away, or log out, or zone, or are revived after being defeated, the client will put it out automatically, instead having to do it manually like now.

That’s what I’d rather have.

I understand how the fire elemental doesn’t fit very well underwater, but at least they should have underwater versions, and turn into underwater versions when you go underwater and have the skills also selected underwater.
- Fire: Flowstone elemental.
- Water: This one could perfectly be the same one. Or just rename it to “Iceberg elemental”.
- Air: The same one, or another newly “Seafoam elemental”.
- Earth: The same, or a version of the same with corals instead roots, named “Seabed elemental”.

Suggestion to remove repair bill for WvW pls

I believe they should replace the repair armor costs from WvW with an effect.

Let’s call it… Oh, yeah. Let’s bring back the name from GW1: Dishonorable.

If you spend too much time without participating in an event, building something, repairing something, fighting enemies or well, without doing WvW (let’s say 5 stacks every 15 minutes as an example), and if you are defeated, you get this boon. After a certain amount of stacks let’s say, for example… 50, you are kicked out of WvW, leaving your slot for another player. You can still rejoin, but in the queue, you’ll be sent behind people with less stacks than you.

Each instance of the boon will expire after a fixed amount of time. Let’s say 15 minutes as an example. So, with time, you’ll go back to the front of the queue and get preference again.

If you get killed too many times or spend way to many time without helping… Bonk!! Back to where you were before you joined WvW.

With the example numbers, you’ll be kicked after 50 consecutive deaths within 15 minutes, and will regain full preference (the same as someone with no stacks) after 12 hours, and will be kicked out if you spend more than 2 hours walking around without doing WvW. More than enough time for a puzzle.
These are just example numbers to get an idea, so they’ll have to be properly adjusted.

So, if you are not good at fighting, you can, instead do something like pushing Supply to repair stuff, or help build siege while your dishonorable stacks decrease.

This will both address and alleviate the problem of costs from being defeated again enemies, and people going around in WvW without helping.

Alternatively, there could be durability in items.
A level 0 basic item would have just 2 durability, while a level 80 basic item would have 82.
A legendary level 80 item would have 250 durability.
When defeated by a monsters, you’ll lose durability based on the level of the enemy that dealtthe finishing blow.
When defeated by a player, only 1.
This would keep the cost, but greatly decrease it when defeated by players, while keeping it when defeated by monsters in WvW.

Or maybe it could be a mix of both versions. Variable durability vs monsters + Dishonorable vs players.

I’m assuming they have deal with the initial waves of bots enough to let players get more stuff.

Without any external gold sellers and no one playing more than 6 hours per day on average, such measures would have not been needed.

As for telling people how exactly they work, there isno such need.
The ones that need such information are botters themselves. Players should just play normally, and if they seem to hit the loot limit code, then just do something else like PvP or dungeons, or WvW, or fool around with friends in cities. Or, in extreme cases, something else outside the game, like having a walk or playing other game.

I strongly believe that classes must:
- Fit all races.
- Fit within all existing starting areas, so people can make them in the existing content instead being restricted to a new starting area like in GW:Factions and GW:Nightfall.
- Have a name that is ‘generic’ and not linked to a region.
A Canthan samurai doesn’t.

This must be done.

In my world, half of those who got 100% did it by traveling to other worlds, and the other half is strolling around WvW doing nothing, while getting killed by practically going solo towards the points they need, ignoring any other things in the map.

The exploration achievements should be PvE, and the WvW ones split and moed to the WvW achievements section.

In WvW people should be doing WvW, not sightseeing and taking up slots that people that want to play would use otherwise.

Some people think the minstrel is ANet’s way of telling us that something like that won’t happen.

What would they do, anyways? Take out instruments that replace their skills? Elementalists and engineers already have kits and conjures.

And when it comes to charms and things like those, it’s the real of the Mesmer.

On top of that, in GW2 lore, Mesmers are often performers like actors and musicians.

I think it would be nice to have bards, but I’ll see it more as an out-of-battle job. Something to do in cities and social hubs.

I’d like to remind you that GW1 had something alike to mounts:
- Siege devourers and Junundu.
They were ‘disguises’ or ‘forms’ that changed your appearance and skills, like the Siege Golem, but you get to ‘mount’ something.

Mounts that are like that:

  • Limited in time or to a region, so you can’t use it outside the areas for which it has been balanced.
  • Functional, changing your skills to those of the mount.
  • Not something you bring with you and use anywhere.

With those I’ll be ok with.
And in fact, we already several some of those.

Magic find obsession needs to be addressed

This could be a good idea.

I believe there’s 3 types of effect-giving consumables that can be used at the same time:
- Noursiment (apple icon) only one can be used at the same time.
- Potion (Wrench icon)
- Boost. Can use one of each type at the same time.
So there should be at least 3 slots, but there could be more.
People may use boosts more if they take less space and have them in the UI, which may slightly increase the chances of someone getting boosts in the store.

They could be linked by default to the F keys starting from F5.

I will be all for a rebalanced, but not for a removal.

They should be low enough for people not to mind paying. But high as they are now, people avoid them.
With a price of 25 copper, a person will travel more often, and actually spend more than if it cost more.

Look at Steam games. They actually earn more when they have massive sales than they would have earned if they didn’t have sales at all, as people buy more when prices are lower.

One of the best suggestions I’ve read balanecs prices by matching the two locations you are traveling to.
You assign each waypoint a level, and the cost of the travel depends on the average of both.
Travel from level 3 to level 3 areas, and you’ll have a level 3 waypoint cost. Travel from level 10 to level 80 area, and you’ll get level 45 costs. Travel around in level 80 areas, and you have level 80 costs.
The distance multiplier still applies, but scaled to areas, instead to levels.

And when you are defeated, the cost goes back to your level, as you are supposed to avoid being defeated anyways.

That’ll ensure that you’ll get enough for waypoints for the areas you are playing.

As for respecs, I beleive they should increase if you do many in short time, as you have the Heart of the Mysts to try out builds, but not cost so much if you only change once in a while.

Renaming Bats

Language evolves over time.

The original world for “bat” probably meant “flapper”.
So they are called ‘bats’ because hey ‘bat’ their wings, like bats are called ‘bat’ because they flapped their wings.

They could call them something else, like ‘flapper’ or ‘flutterers’ or ‘drakebats’, but I don’t see any reason strong for it, unless there’s also actual ambiental bats that look like Earth’s bats like GW1 had.

I haven’t seen any in GW2, though.

The majority of players agree that adjusting and scaling waypoint costs would be preferable over mounts.

I’d like to see your Majority, those not roaming these forums please.

Just ask in-game. Ask them what they would rather have: Mounts or reasonable prices in waypoints.

Most of them will choose waypoints.

You can run around with a mount. But with reasonable prices in waypoints you can travel faster all over the world.

Exploration mode for WvW maps

Just split exploration into World and Mysts.
Exploring the WvW maps should have their own track in the WvW achievement section, and the explorer title should count only Tyria, not the Mysts.

People is transferring to other servers to be able to get 100%, because otherwise they may never get it done, while others get it done extremely easy, depending on their server.

THAT·SHOULD·NOT·HAD·TO·HAPPEN.

People that go to WvW should go to fight for their world, not to take slots to explore a little and then go back to their own world, without fighting at all.

I waited for survivor and drunkard to be changed in GW1, because they were unreasonable as they were. And also for Legendary Defender of Ascalon.
It took 5 and 3 years, but they finally made the change to make them reasonable. And despite a few whiners, everyone one else saw it was good.

This is another case of unreasonable achievement. And so, I strongly believe that must be changed, so it becomes good too.

Sooner or later they’ll see this situation is not acceptable, and change it too. I don’t mind having to wait, but I’ll wait as long as it takes.
I refuse to change servers just to get a little star next to my name like other players in my guild had to do.

Memento Box (small Digital Deluxe, starting gear and home instance improvement)

As you know, if you lose your headgear or your miniature Rytlock for any reason, they are lost forever.
It doesn’t matter the reason. It could be a glitch in the transmutation system that strips the appearance when you try to transmute it, or your niece deleting the stuff while you have an emergency that makes you go AFK without even closing the game. The reason is irrelevant.

The point is, they could be gone forever, and they should not.

So this is an idea that will fix that issue relatively quickly, and also improve the home instance.
This will allow players to retrieve any of those items if they ever lost them for whatever reason, and will completely solve the issue of lost Miniature Rytlocks.

Appearance
Each character, in their own home instance will get a “Mememto Box” object.
“Mememto Box” is just the generic name for them all, and the name of the idea, in actuality, the name and placement would vary depending on storyline.
This box will be an object that once used, will open a “shop” that, much like Kimmes the historian, has different items depending on who uses it.
The Memento Box will also have an map icon indicating where it is, which is also where your house is or where you last slept before the start of your story. Most of the objects that could be used already exist in the world:

  • Human noble: Manor hill. A chest by your bed.
  • Human commoner: Andrew’s Inn or Cottage Bend, also a chest by your bed.
  • Human street rat: A chest in Cottage Bend or a hidden stash in some boxes in Rooks row.
  • Charr: A hidden stash in a plant holder by a bed.
  • Asura: A drawer or chest in one of the resting cubicles (you notice they have a floating hammock).
  • Norn: One of the chests by a bed.
  • Silvary: Somewhere in Dreamer’s Terrace. I really have no idea, since they seem to have only tables, lamps and beds. I’ve seen some wooden cases in other places, so that could be placed somewhere in there.

Contents
This is what the shop will initially have:

  • Your chosen piece of equipment (e.g.: Elementalist headpiece, necromancer face pant, warrior/guardian shoulders or helm, etc), if you chose any, for free.
  • All your other initial gear for free: chest, legs, boots and weapon.
  • The starting town clothes.
  • Additionally, if you had pre-purchased, also the Celebration Hat.
  • Also if you had pre-purchased, it will have a Hero’s Band. It’ll be made Unique so you can’t equip two.
  • If you had purchased Digital Deluxe (DD), it will have a Miniature Rytlock for free.
  • (Optional) Additionally, if you have DD unlocked, the Golem Banker could be here too, for a karma or laurel price. Something between 10000 and 50000 karma or 10 laurels. Why the big price? To keep other banking sources useful and this less of an advantage. If you really want to keep using the golem banker, it’ll cost you, if you just want to access the bank, there’s the consumables in the store and from playing.
  • (Optional) Even further, some steps in the storyline and some things you do could add items to the memento box.
  • (Optional) It could even have the Hall of Monuments Portal Stone, so it’s easier to find than in Lion’s Arch, as your “Mememto Box” would have a map icon.

All items from this ‘shop’ would be unlimited, soulbond, unsellable, unsalvagable and unusable in the mystic forge, like HoM rewards, most of them free, although as stated above, some would have karma/laurel prices.

Additionally, if Housing is ever added, and players can change where their house is, the Memento Box would be moved to that new house.

Asuran home instance doesn't feel like...home

Don’t be childish. Way before release devs have already mentioned that the first dragon to be defeated is Zhaitan. No spoilers here.

Anyways, this could be a good idea. Only in the human instance, and only as a noble, you are sure about your ‘house’. You know where the entrance is, where the bed is, you know that’s where you live.

But with other storylines, that’s completely unsure.
Which one is your bed in Hoelbrak? Or the Heroes’ Canton? Have they given you quarters or a bed to rest in House of Riannon? And which one is your room in your friend’s inn as a commoner? And is that your house in the slums as a street rat, or you just live on the street?

As an Asura, there’s some of Laiff’s Floating Hammocks™ in some cubicles in the laboratory, so we assume Asura rest in those between research and experiments, but which one is yours?

I hope that, at least when/if they release dedicated Housing, not only the Human Nobles will get their houses clearly indicated.

The majority of players agree that adjusting and scaling waypoint costs would be preferable over mounts.

Bucket lists are not a very good way to give feedback. It’ll be better to focus on each issue separately.

Most of your points have already threads started you can quickly find using the search. And those that don’t, are well… pointless. Not because they don’t have a thread already, but because they were just quickly made out of a non-issue to inflate the list, like “the invisible titles”. Titles are not invisible, once selected, they appear when you select a player, along the full name of their guild, their profession icon and their level.

Guild Armour & Weapon

The ideal situations would be to have an ‘edit’ model that lets us place the emblem anywhere we want, with the size we want.

First, you equip the item, then you talk to the Guild Services NPC or Guild Armorer, and chose the ‘engrave emblem’ option. And that gives you a special preview panel with a character ragdoll.
Click anywhere in the ragdoll, and the emblem is placed with default size, and then you have a series of mouse commands or toolbar buttons to alter it. Resize it, stretch it, move it around… you could even place it in the skin of the character as a tattoo this way, as long as it’s within the area that belongs to that piece of armor.
Position, rotation and size should be small values to save on an item.

And once you save an emblem in the item, it gets soulbound if it wasn’t (i.e.: If it was Fine or Basic).

Things can burn underwater.

And when creatures ‘bleed’ they bleed whatever their equivalent is. It could be blood, sap, oil, arcane energies, elemental energies, goo, ectoplasm. Whatever they can leak if you pierce or slash them, that’s what they’ll bleed.

So they do make sense.

But you can’t have the same for an inert things like a wooden table. There’s nothing something like that could leak and ‘bleed’. So it makes sense to have an alternate degen effect for objects.

It could be a checkbox either in the options panel or in the hero panel, next to the selected title, or next to your character name.

Ori nodes not showing up as minable - Friend showed me spawns I see a ruined base like I mined it but I haven't, can mine 2 out of 5

Yesterday I found 3 orichalcum nodes and 1 ancient wood node.

The ancient wood appeared in the same spot as the 2nd orichalcum about 15 minutes after I gathered it, but people that came to the same nodes saw different things. So even resets seem to be random.

All other nodes seem to be fixed for me, only orichalcum, ancient wood and things like truffles and seaweed seem to be random.

Looks to me that the system for the 6th tier is random now, encouraging exploration over siting next to a node and loading the character once or twice a day to get it.

This happens to me whenever I get to a place with more than 50 creatures or so in the same spot and sound quality is set to max.

This happens mostly in WvW and the biggest Meta events.

At least your miniature should have them, but having them in yourself would come in handy for screen captures.

There should be a way to make captures of yourself with titles and name awards on screen at the same time.

Erosion, corrosion, wearing, acidic erosion, chemical fire…

How you call it isn’t as important as how condition-oriented builds take ages longer to break a box that takes two hits to a damage-based build.
