Transmutation Stones, does the current system work for you?

I don’t think that’s it.
I’ve transmutated at least one level 77 item skin into a level 68 item while being level 74 myself.
A “mini-me” that mimics the model and emotes of your character when you input them, but with a squeaky voice.
Spekk’s Lab is my favorite jumping puzzle so far.
It’s fast. It’s fluid. It’s simple. It’s fun. And if you fall, you can go on instead having to repeatedly resurrect or hope anyone will have the guts to resurrect you in the middle of the lava.
Maybe it gives too many checkpoits, which makes it too easy for some people, but with or without them it’s still fun.
It has been the only jumping puzzle I found myself doing twice in a row. Not for the chest, but just to make it all the way to the top in one go.

This could be a bug. Maye you should make screenshots of both items and report it.
I’ve never done anything you said.
In PvP I mostly play as an elementalist, and I find very fun to use the underwater skills in the proper order that makes me win against most people. More than once I’ve survived a battle by jumping in the water almost dead and turning the tables around. Weaken them with an enlite, keep them away with a water wall, then come back with a current, trap them with lightning, and once drowning, sink them with a nice rock anchor. A little bleeding, little bit more water to finish and ding! From less than 25%HP to a win.

Hm. This could work.
Unless gold spammers start sending countless random friend invitations.
That could actually be worse. Still, we have a search in the friend request panel. So finding a particular one won’t be a problem. The problem would be if there’s a limit of how many friends you can have requesting.
I’ve played Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac. That’s like getting a Major in patience over frustration.
The only two things I’ve found frustrating so far in the game are:
- Dark Reverie jumping puzzle.
- Thaumanova elemental event.
I will agree with fixing those.
The rest, I found to be fine.
You are not forced to do them.
Those things are like the Zaishen Quests in Guild Wars 1: They are meant to make people focus in certain things
In GW2 the task aren’t to make missions or dungeons, but things like producing materials by salvaging, so the Trading Post has more chances to restocks, or filling WvW so there’s more people there, or trying to play better instead getting defeated all the time, so everyone has a better overall experience, instead relying on others. I guess the logic in that is that the better others are around you, the better you’ll be too. Since strength is in numbers, so the less are downed, the stronger the whole group is.
And give a small reward to those who do them.
In this case, a little exp, a few moneys, and some Mystic Coins. Nothing you can’t get in many other ways.

What’s needed is a self-deelvel system, in which you can decrease your own level on purpose.
That way you can make things harder for you, without making them harder for others.
What? They are per profession? XDDDD
That’s just silly. I’m not even considering it, then.
They should make it a one-time account unlock. And then make it so to have the icon on screen you must be a consistent player with success in their squad.

No. Transmutaion do not let mixing types, but what you call ‘types’ are not types.
Fine isn’t a type, it’s a rarity. You can mix properties of fine and rare items. I’ve done so multiple times. My hadgear in me elementalist is the starting headpiece. It started white, and now it’s green or yellow, can’t remember exactly which one (the skin is bugged, though, I keep it just in case), but it has been blue, green and yellow.
Types would be things like medium or light. You can’t mix those, like you can’t mix a sword and an axe.
Another case in which it won’t work is if one of the pieces is level 80. Then you’ll need a fine transmutation stone.
At least movement and combat controls should be character-bound.
What they should do is at least set a minimum “buy” price you can set.
The TP is cluttered with requests under the item price, and you can’t sell at that price anyways.
Selling just 1 copper over the merhant price has its uses, as you can’t always get to a merchant right away, but you can use the trading post anywhere, so you can just out them there instead.
They are prestige gear. You earned t, you get to show it off.
“Earn it” as in “you did what it must be done to get it” not as in “you paid for it with gold”.
This should and I’m almost sure it will ever happen.
PvE gear isn’t meant for PvP.
You’ll have to make do with WvW, at least, until they add duels, and hope they allow duel between parties instead just characters.
The only mounts that should be in this game are combat mounts, like Siege golems, siege devourers, Charr war vehicles, naval combat boats, and the like.
Things that you get temporarily for a purpose, instead things you get to keep and use anywhere.

They are not a single item. They are several ones.
They should add an extra word to their names: “Master Copper Minning Pick”, “Master Mithril Loggin Axe” etc.
You don’t need a paper to tell you are married. And no skill, recipe, item or advantage of any kind should be limited and restricted to those who choose to marry, or others that wouldn’t do it otherwise may feel compelled to do it, to exploit it in any way (e.g.: A teleport-to-hubby option, exploited with jumping puzzles).

As I change weapons a lot between fights, I could really use this.
This would also get rid of this annoying behavior when you switch to a 2h weapon while having 2 1h weapons equiped, an invisible bag and an equipment box: One weapon will go to the invisible bag, and the other all the way to the equipment box, and you have to look for the other weapon and put it back in the invisible bag, rearranging the inventory every time.
Doing this would be so obviously absurd that I see no need to explain you why.
There’s also people who want the fire effect from Fiery Dragon Swords to urn off when sheather.
The weapon slots should have a checkbox like headgear, shoulders and back. Checking it would disable the weapon effects while sheathed, unchecking it would leave them.
“Take heed! I haven’t take a lave or my senses!”
Believe me, if anyone is paying attention. We’ll know.
[…]
But let me use your argument against you…if they are scams that dont actually give out gold, but are used to steal accounts…then there really is NO need at all for Anet to limit accounts the way they are when it comes to sending/donating money or crafting materials…
Because, according to you…there are few real gold sellers selling gold.
They also send all the money those accounts had into their own selling accounts. To make a few actual sales, and look legitimate. People is more likely to buy if they hear from someone else that it worked. Getting some extra bucks in the process.
I’d rather have a profession that s able to ‘consume’ or ‘capture’ monsters to unlock the power to transform into them, instead one that just summons them.
That’s called a Ranger.
Rangers do not transform into monsters. They only charm, and only a small list of animals.
You are supposed to dodge to avoid damage.
If you dodge on AoE, you’ll end up falling in another 3 that spawn right before you dodge, because each elemental can spam several AoEs every 5…10 seconds or so.
If you try to resurrect anyone, you are knocked down and die. If you use stability to get of of the knockdown, another knockdowns falls right at your estination point, 4 out of 5 times. I tried a combination of Arcane Shield and Obsidian Flesh to try and resurrect a single player that was OUTSIDE the orange circle area of the event. It didn’t work. Right after Obsidian Flesh finished, the knockdown came, then the circle of AoE, then the damage. 3 hits, down. On a level 80 with level 80 gear. I was dead over 1200 units (staff range) away from the border of he event.
I’ve tried it over 20 times, and players do not play it. They end up giving up, staying down, chatting about how hey should change the event, while the remaining who stay alive are knocked down and downed by single AoEs they could not dodge, then finished by the Embers, and either revive away or join the conversation.
In the end, you have both low level and high level characters winning the event by literally throwing corpses at the elemental until it fades.
It’s not challenging. It’s not fun. It’s not designed for a level 1-15 area. It’s just frustrating. It must be changed.
This could be acceptable, at least until they fix the issue once and for all.
I have most of my 13 characters sitting in skill challenges (each one of them in a different one), because leaving to somewhere else and coming back every day is prohibitively expensive with he current waypoint costs, so everyday I log in, check if the waypoint works, see that they do not, and switch to another character.
I guess that when these last character end up with another bugged skillpoint, all that I’ll have left will be WvW until they get fixed, as I can use the HoM portal stone to go back to whence I came from WvW without having to teleport all over the place with waypoints.
Wait… what do you mean when you say ‘community’?
Looks like it doesn’t mean what you think it means.

I’d love to have a world-wide LFG tool in which you can set the things you want to do from a list. At least 3 or 5 things.
The things could be anything, events you are aiming to do, skill challenges you are having a hard time alone, a certain dungeon path, making a party to roamn WvW, the current personal storyline quest of any of your characters…
It was horrible in the first beta. And with that system, it should have been account-wide. And I was a determined proponent of that.
But they changed the system since them, making it much, much better.
This makes getting dyes much, much easier, and possible for each character.
And much like in GW1, if you want to dye all your characters back and/or white, it will cost you, or at least require quite some time or luck.
The current system is fine as a it is, there is no need for it being account wide.

Thieves should be able to use rifles for long-range sniping. With a range of 1500 units in at least one skill with long recharge.
They should rename the HoM one to “Ancient Ascendant”, as many things from GW1 are referred to be ‘ancient’ thorough the game.
Community is something mainly done by players.
I get some VOIP program, connect with some guild members, do things together…
Or talk with random strangers, help them around, fight together for a while, give them advice…
One can still share and give away drops between friends. You can ping them in the chat, offering them if they want to use them, and you can still give them the drops.
You can yell in the chat when you find a Rich vein, for all to come and enjoy the extra gathering.
You can build a team that covers most eventualities with synergy, having as much effects, boons and skill combos as possible give your professions.
It’s a little more complex having all these roles at the same time, but as with any game, you get used to it and ends up coming naturally, fluently, without having to waste too much time over-thinking things.
There won’t be an increase in number of skill slots, as that’s a core mechanic.
‘Named’ creature are mostly gone because the world is ‘shared’. You could kill a boss and say it’s dead, and killing the boss again would be like replaying a mission, you already did it, it’s just a ‘replay’.
Energy was turned into endurance. Asking for it to be added back as a skill resource won’t make much sense.
PvP is not about the money, but about the glory.

There’s no horses in Tyria. That’s why you’ll see lots of other types of beasts of burden like bulls and dolyaks, but never a horse pulling a cart of something like that.
Maybe there were horses in the past, but not anymore.
Anyways, it’s true that they should review waypoint cost, as when you level up you can only afford them if you stay in areas of your level.
Try to play with friends in a level 1-15 area, and they’ll be able to jump around the area by selling a couple of drops, while you’ll need to sell from dozens to hundreds drops in the area to be able to use waypoints as frequently.
Yeah, they changed the order, but if you ash the F key to quickly loot everything around, you’ll end up talking to NPCs and activating interactive objects.
It’ll be simpler if by holding the Interact key for one or two seconds, you automatically looted everything around.
Changes to core mechanics are extremely unlikely.
It’s not very clear in your post, but if you suggest to be able to change profession completely, having just one at a time, I don’t see why not, but still unlikely, as the profession is part of the core of the character. It won’t be like changing hair color. It won’t be worse than changing race either, since profession doesn’t affect persona story, but I still do not see it happenening.
f you suggest to have two professions, then we have another problem, as weapons can be shared between profession, there would have to be a way to determine which weapon skill you get with a weapon, or simply only let utility skills to be chosen from the second profession.
But as all skills are balanced to go mainly with the other skills of their profession, this would be troublesome too, since it’ll add countless extra combinations that most people won’t try at all, but a few will try extensively searching for some glitch or overpowered combination to exploit.
So… it’s way simpler and better for balance to keep professions separate, for devs, players and future content.

As long as creating this instances costs over 50 gems per person, and at least 100, preferably a primer number like 131, fine by me.
It never always comes in handy to have something else to spend gems, so there’s more chances of people having a couple of surplus gems they end up selling.

I’d rather have a profession that s able to ‘consume’ or ‘capture’ monsters to unlock the power to transform into them, instead one that just summons them.
Well, I’m stuck at 0 since release :P.
Yeah. Me too. I got he Monthly survivor twice, consecutively, after they reseted it, so I should have at least the first tier.
Most skill points, events and NPCs reported to be bugged or missing, are still missing from Baruch Bay.
It should be possible. The models have 2 ‘slots’ in the back and another 2 on the sides to put stuff there.
Usually backpacks, shields and 2h weapons ho in the back, while 1h weapons go in the sides.
Quivers could perfectly go in any of those slots by placing the item in one accessory slot or the alternate weapon slot, or by default, without having items.
People like quivers.
As for clipping, who cares? Everything clips like crazy already. I can’t tell if my weapons are inside or outside when I wear a coat.
I can see this working…
…on WvW.
Currently there’s only 3 stages:
Instead, damaged should be variable. Why? Because one might like to play with friends in low level areas, where you earn less from drops and events, but you gear will probably have high repair costs.
To compensate, lower level enemies would damage less you armor, so you can afford the repairs with drops around the area.
I’ve done dungeons with blue gear under my level and no upgrades on them.
Upgrades are just bonuses, if you are skilled enough, you don’t need those attribute bonuses, so you might as well put something else in there, like magic find or functionalities.
As long as it’s a mini-game and NOT something you can do AFK, it could be fun.
t could be something simple enough to do it while you do something else like watching a movie or chatting with friends. Like Torchlight’s fishing minigame.
And, well, neutral and hostile fish (the ones with levels and yellow or red names) should drop fish meat once in a while.
(edited by MithranArkanere.8957)
I would not mind, but when you see a guy with a greatsword running towards you, you know he’s a warrior or guardian if the armor is heavy, or ranger if medium, or mesmer if light.
That helps you prepare and what to expect with just a glance.
Nobody should care much in PvE, but in WvW and PvP it’ll be better if appearances stayed exclusive to armor type. And since WvW and PvE share gear, PvE can’t have this because WvW can’t.

Anyone trying to do Troll’s End n Lion’s Arch with a character taller than 1.80 meters (over 6 feet for you people in weird countries that for some strange reason aren’t fully metricated yet) will see how BADLY the camera needs to be fixed.
The camera prances and jumps around while crazy, colliding with every single wall, plank, rock, stone, stalagmite and stalactite in the cave.
People with some kind of visual or auditive problems probably gets dizzy, or strokes, or pukes all over the screen just by looking at the screen while walking around in this cave.
