You can chose reward track.
Dng reward tracks can be unlocked by doing PvE instance (which they are associated with) and/or there is always one track rotating, so you can get gear without doing PvE.
(In PvP menu you got Reward Tracks section and you choose there your rewards.)

I have no idea where int he world your gonna play someone at exactly your teams skill level with either you getting better or getting worse to match a certain type of player.
I agree here. It’s impossible to turn random people based on statistics into two even teams. I guess thats why GW1 had rating associated to teams (guilds) instead to the player, so random arena was still random (however I miss those ~30 game winstreaks while playing solo Q…), while competition was in GvG.
“Close as possible” y’all. That means something different than absolutely 50/50.
Whenever I play 500:0, 500:5 and such matches in Ranked Q, I wonder how ‘close’ those games are.
If Solo Q will remain merged with Premade Q, I would like to have ability to stay with my random team for next match after we win current one, like it used to be in GW1. This way we will have better playing experience and we will have more opportunites to fight premades back

3 Bunker Guards in team again. I feel like most of my loses lately are just due to class stacking. And we can’t even change, because we lose ladder points on change.

Also please stop spouting this nonsense that regen boon “doesn’t apply any benefit to us”….. yes it does. You get healed just like everyone else, just not when you are using your mini easily replenished healthbar that gives eXtra tougnesa damage skills etc when traited.
When you guys are playing with a team and you need a heal tell your teammates if you need a burst heal and coordinate it when you leave ds…. giving us healing in DS would lower our skillcap and makes us OP.
Ok, I’ll write elaborate via /team everytime I need fast heal from my team on ranked solo Q. Sometimes I think, some people forget that majority doesn’t run full time premade on TS…
Clearly, the easiest will be Engi.
The main reason why Celestial is used so often is because there is so little customization on stats that it becomes a valid compromise for anyone who doesn’t want to go all-out dps or all-out bunker… bring back amulet jewels (or any form of stat combination) and the amulet will be much less predominant.
It’s so popular because it gives the most stats = has the most value for some classes.
Necro in DS doesn’t benefit also from group heals, regen and such. Thats one of reasons why its T2 class.

what is GvG like in GW1? Is it just regular spvp but only with guildmates?
Structured PvP between Guilds, where MMR is associated to Guild instead of players.
You can get an almost exact replica already.
1: Get a custom arena
2: Set the rules to max time and max score.
3: Allow only Legacy of the Foefire
4: Play the game until one team kills the enemy lord.

6: GvG successfully emulated.
Custom arenas aren’t competitive, so nobody cares about them?
Also I believe team of solo Q players shouldn’t lose LB points while losing to premades. Ofc if premades will remain in same que, I would prefer them to not.

I agree 100%, its bad enough having to play vs premades, and on top also getting players with only 10 games in pvp.
Theres only so much a guy can carry, also depends a lot what time you play, but playerz dying to svanir while we are losing mid and close its just sad.
And yes i say skipp svanir, but there is always some guy that decides 25 points are more important than mid AND THEN THEY GO MID TO FEED.
I actually stop voting for forest and legacy, if you get a new player in such maps you will lose and thats it.
You should do svanir with your team and only bunker should rush mid to prevent optional cap by enemy team. Killing it as 3 takes like 5 seconds, doing it this way solves many problems, e.g. steal.
The most fun part is, GW2 is always logging player out on 0.0001sec internet DC.
So yeah, you can sit on TS, you can listen to music on youtube, you can watch stream on 2nd monitor, chat on IRC or whatever. You get 0.0001sec sec DC, everything is fine, but GW2 will log you out, give you LB penalty, force you to autorize log-in once again and so on… even loading map back takes time because it’s loading Mists before redirecting you to your match <facepalm>.
Ranked > unranked atm only because ranked has faster que.
Imho adding req of minimum lvl80, rank 40+ and XXX (100?) wins with class in unranked arena you want to que for ranked would help a bit, many matches are just -leave- worthy if you don’t want try to carry your ‘team’ aka ‘random people running around like headless chickens doing things they shouldn’t do’.
So, I just finished a ranked arena match (started ~ 5:00 pm EST) and it STARTED as 4v5. We did not have a 5th from the very beginning, and no one joined all game. I thought the new system was supposed to prevent these matches from starting? Why are we still starting with 4v5 matches??? Someone obviously didn’t click the queue to join, yet the match started anyway.
He probably got DC during loading and got autolose + dishonor so he never came back.
Do whatever you want, eventually you won’t be able to play due to all the dishonor on your account and no team will have to worry about you being a leaver. If you are that worried about it, join a “team”. By that is as simple as saying your rank and class in map chat and someone will grab you. Then you can sort out the comp issue before Qing up. Friends will Q with dumb comps because they don’t care. This will always be true. If you don’t want to get paired with such stupidity, then grab more members. Every person lessens the risk of this. Q with 3 and hold the majority of the party comp.
Thats just another thing what wrong with current ladder: you’ve to premade.
I think my winratio has dropped after patch from ~70% to ~33% (quequeing with Necro and as we all know, it’s not very flexible)… all the time I end with horrible team composition and nor I, nor anyone in my team can’t swich due to dishonor now.
No point in playing as solo player now, and it’s a shame because often you just want to play 1 ranked match and do something else later… probably applying dishonor after ‘everyone is ready’ would be much better than now, so teams could adjust their compositions to be more playable.

That’s 1 match and 1 team that would actually not be placed together. So irrelevant. If that is the team that showed up then they are most likely Qued together and are not smart. I have solo Qed and been in a match where 4 wars, 3 rangers, 3 theives Qed together. You cannot account for stupidity and YOU changing you class is not going to help anything out; if your 2 rangers Qed together. So who cares at that point. Just play what you came with.

Yes, I can judge that team with 4 Rangers and 1 Necro can’t do kitten against balanced teams. Conquest require more like right team composition and proper builds than skill, deal with it already.
Also it’s another advantage of premades over solo Q players. Premades can adjust their team composition before match, when team of solo Q players they are facing can’t.
Don’t try to cheat the game in any way. Makes up your mind before you hit the button.
I can judge outcome of match just by looking at composition of teams. Making matches fair has nothing with cheating, especialy in such imbalanced game.
I’d rather have it as GW2 Random Arenas, really. You die – You won’t ress until somebody uses a ressing skill.

I rather liked GW1 RA. However this game doesn’t have res signets and the hard resses are rather limited (Banner, Elixir, etc.).
Anyways if you remove respawns you will just end up with everyone playing a bunker build for this map.
I don’t think adding Res Signets for ‘old new’ game mode would be much effort for Anet
The sad part is that its true for the most part. A casual solo Q player will never come close to top rank like in the previous system.
‘Casuals’ usualy aren’t top players, so they shouldn’t be on top of leaderboards.
Problem is completly different, top players probably won’t be on top of it with current system no matter if they solo Q or premade.
It’s terrible.
Just played game, DC’ed on loading map (my internet connection was fine since I wasn’t DC’ed from IRC). Rejoined before it started… played entire match and finished with dishonor penalty.
Sugestion: start counting ‘leaving’ after start of the match, not before it as it’s now… this way we could also switch chars to get less random team composition and have more competitive matches…
What is worse, in described situation, there is no reason for me to rejoin game, since it’s counted as loss for me even if I win it. Clearly bad design.

@OP – because Conquest is terrible compared to GW1 PvP.
Rangers have stealth on bow too.
What I want to know is why TDM is in the same queue as Conquest.

Ruin as many matches as you can, so Anet will hear your voice.
If you got 1sec DC, there is no reason to relog and come back to help ‘your team’, just don’t do it, since Anet doesn’t want you to do so.
Problem aren’t preamdes, but fact that rankeds are filled with loads of clueless people who doesn’t focus marked targets, fight in middle of nowhere, leave points alone after cap, pursit full hp bunker specs instead of reviving allys etc etc… So yeah, many games are just leave worthy.
Also Courtyard is 1000x better than any terrible Conquest map, finaly something going in right direction (GW1?), I would rather have 6 Coutyards in que and 1 Conquest map instead of 6 Conquest:1 Coutyard
