I would love to have ‘ignore’ having additional feature, like:
‘matchmaking wont put you into team with players in your ignore list’
So, if someone would decide to troll everyone everyday would be ostracized by possible teammates for future. However I believe, ‘ignore’ should timeout after month or so, since everyone can change.

I don’t see a single reason to punish players for horrible MM.
Pistol 4 is intended to use as an instant interrupt to stop key skills or healing skills. Putting a cast time will literally render the skill utter useless.
They already needed thief mobility when they fixed the patching with SB5. Now I can’t use 90% of the old spots to get around, so we aren’t as mobile as we used to be.
We are meant to excel at 1v1. We and mesmers, which both do pretty well imo. Shatter Mesmer and backstab thief is all about who land their combo first, pretty much.
Saying thief are op are a testament to your skill tbh, because I have no trouble countering them when using other professions….

Winrate and match quality are two different thing.
OP isn’t complaining about winrate actualy, but horrible MM giving him constantly not equaly skilled teammates pulling him down instead of stronger enemies.
Separate SoloQ and TeamQ is the best choice. It was discused many times, and I’ve been alwasy repeating we need to have GW1 like ques, where:
→ after you win you can vote if you want to stay with your SoloQ team for next match;
→ once you lose your SoloQ team is disbanded;
→ for each game you win you get reward track bonus;
→ once you get X wins in a row (e.g. 10), you end in TEAM que;
→ TEAM que has higher rewards (e.g. x3).
MM where normal SoloQ teams are ‘just’ matched vs Premades is not acceptable in game aiming at fair competition…

I still don’t think using MMR directly is a good idea for a leaderboard, but I fully understand why people would want it: It is perceived as a better indicator of skill most of the time.
Here is why it doesn’t work well:
Random jumps: Glicko is used to make the best match possible. It does this by adjusting quickly which can result in very large jumps up and down before settling.

It doesn’t need to decay to prevent inactive people sitting at the top of leaderboard, if leaderboard will display only players who played during certain period of time (e.g. last three days).
You can also force minimum amount of matches to be played by participant in season to compete for season rewards. However I would recommend short leaderboard seasons (monthly?).
Also I don’t see a single reason to don’t decay MMR directly. MMR is tool to evaluate player skill, we could say that someone who doesn’t play gets rusty and his skill is going down over time while not playing.

Unranked is good place to learn your build (pick meta build → http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki <- / ranked arena), once you will feel confident with your Profession (build in this case) and you will know your role in team and how to rotate you should give Ranked chance, since Ranked matches are much more enjoyable (well for me). Also before you step to Ranked, you should know basic of each Ranked Map (example: learn timer and important of buffs → http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Temple_of_the_Silent_Storm)

Well, it really depend on your preferences. All of those mentioned are easy accessable while walking with W[S]AD.
For example, if you play Engi you may want to have both Kits on your mouse, because you will switch between them pretty often. Just because of that I’ve my heal, utilities and elite split between mouse and Q, E, R.

I don’t see how anyone could disagree with this, it just encourages bad habits, bad behavior, dumbs down the game and let’s lesser skilled players stand a chance in sitations where they shouldn’t.
It’s bad for the future of the game and the competitive scene, and makes entry level PVP stagnant and less active because a new player will die to someone using 100% AI builds, get frustrated, and probably stop PVPing all together. Which leads to a smaller player base, and a potential new team that could be competing in high level play.

Btw I soloq most of the time I run into what some of these people call premades and I have won quite a few.
Soloq should never have been a thing in the first place, discourages team play encourages lone wolf play styles and bming at your team. It’s a llbig reason for any community toxicity.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that you aren’t a bit right, but it doesn’t matters.
Majority of players will play as SoloQ, they will run into premades and won’t be happy about it since it’s kinda frustrating when you get some random comp and your enemies got team composition like ‘top team’ and even if they play badly they will just outsustain those PuGs, even worse when they are coordinated.
And if this will happen pretty often there are two scenarios probably going to happen: a) some players form their own premade (they will be minority), b) those players lose interest in sPvP seeing it as unfair since ‘omfg kittened premade again’. So in the end, even if a) happens, it leads to b), which means sPvP playerbase will keep withering.
I really can’t imagine such scenarios as:
1+1+1+1+1 vs 4+1/3+2/3+1+1
1+1+1+2 vs 4+1/3+2/3+1+1
in game aiming at serious PvP like League of Legends and it’s Esportz scene which is all about teams. That would be more than unacceptable, but in GW? Happens all the time.
Also argument that minority (premades) had long waiting time ques, isn’t any argument for ruining game experience of majority (soloQ players), because it can’t do anything than harm.
I see only one solution to this situation and I think I’ve suggested it already many times: Bring back system from GW1 where PuGs played vs PuGs for X (10) games, winning PuG was advancing to next match (with rewards multiper) and losing one was disbanded. After winning those X games move those PuGs who haven’t lost any of their games into Team Q. It will make gamming experience much better for PuGs and Premades and maybe winning ~30 games in a row while Solo Q will be possible again, ah those great times…

Forming premade is way too time consuming to play one or two games exacly when you want to do so without worrying if your friends are avalible or not.

Kittened Rangers can CC me to the death by chaining Immobilize/Fear (F2) with thier dogs (those kittened creatures also cripple and knockback!!!), and if I fail to dodge one of those it gets chained with Entangle, Hilt Bash and Point Blank Shot. What is worse, even if I stealth they do as they please since I’m CCed and they can slash me to the death with Great Sword just by pressing 1 and 2!
…but no, you complain about multiple LB Rangers killing you at distance, because you fail to realize that Thiefs job isn’t even thinking about 1v2 scenario, but create 2v1 scenarios by abusing it’s sick mobility… learn what your job is and if you feel hard countered by enemy composition switch character/build…

On point: Go play ranked, or fill your team with Skyhammer haters and all afk at your own base (make them get a 3 cap + spawn camp you)
Jumping down gives enemy team +5 for kill and it’s faster than any form of “spawn camping”.
Personally I find that them letting these “rank servers” exist where people don’t even PvP more strange, in other MMOs I’ve played, Rift for example they rolled back peoples accounts who did win trading to rank up fast.
In Rift for example, PvP ranks = PvP gear.
In Gw2, PvP ranks = PvP ranks which are completly meaningless.
then why are you playing? You dont like the map, the builds, other players killing you? Why are you in pvp?

Rapid Fire deals on average ~8k dmg to zerkers. Not avoiding it doesn’t mean death by any means, while avoiding it is pretty easy (it can be blocked, interrupted, dodged, evaded). Really don’t understand your problem.
P.S.
I guess your issue is, that you can’t easy mode escape it with stealth once targeted. Stealth doesn’t interrupt already ongoing channels, clearly L2P issue.

Played in a pug last night. Fought 5 longbow power rangers. That’s the lamest build ever. They won just by pressing #2. Once their bugged skill starts casting there is no dodging. You are F*****D. You have to burn all your endurance to avoid ONE ability. This is beyond stupid.
If you burn all your endurance on that one skill, they can only keep auto attacking…

I knew so many dudes who were grinding a ton to get to rank 80. Those people all quit because there was no rank system anymore.
It was maybe the strangest decision ever made. It seemed like someone who thought they knew everything about the game got giving free reign to just let their ideas run rough-shot unchecked over the game.
In fact that is what development has felt like for pvp on this game for 18 months or so. There seems no checks and balances on ideas at anet with some terrible ideas just suddenly popping up on live servers when nobody ever asked for them.
I have little hope for the expansion. It is like if ONE person (any of us) was put in charge of an aspect of the game it would suck. It is hard to find our own mistakes. Seems like collabarative development truely was just a PR exercise.
I don’t blame you for being jaded, pvp is still unfinished in my eyes. However, the bigger picture must be seen.
Anet only have so much on their plate in developing GW2, so pvp is what it is. For the most part I accept it. I support the reward tracks, matchmaking, current leaderboard systems, but there IS one thing I DO NOT accept & that is merging the arenas.
When SoloQ was taken out of the game in favor of TeamQ of unranked/ranked, it ruined pvp competition & favored teams over individuals. So now soloQers need a team(5 or less) just to compete and stay alive. People of all skill levels are affected by this, hotjoiners, solos, teams, pros, EVERYONE. Nobody can get a good game.
Of course there’s exceptions in skill, but for the most part, to go SoloQ is to go to A LIONS’ DEN.
THIS is the thing Anet needs to correct if they want a healthy pvp community. To do that, you need to restrict the teams to ranked just like before. It’s the ONLY way out or pvp is dead and buried.

Difference in player quality between Ranked and Unranked is huge… usualy in Ranked when people bunker nodes, they bunker them, not kitten around in middle of nowhere chasing Thieves or zerg while giving nodes to enemies for free…
There is no need to change RtW, since Ranger doesn’t need any nerfs.
The only issue here is scoring system. He should have 0 points in fair world with his negative win ratio instead of 372.
