Ele pvp is dead.

Without any changes to surviablity, nerfs and removal of cleric amulet that was MUST for staying alive as pvp elementalist -> simply put class is dead.

And also NO balance changes to composite for changes.

Why we are writing here anything an try to give some balance/change ideas for devs…it’s depressing waste of time….

Don’t despair.

I got nerf on all those META for support bunker:

1- Bunker Guard
2- dd ele
3- Shoutbow warrior
4- Mesmer bunker
5- Tempest shouts ele

We will still find a viable meta build to support the team fights. But now, all build that can’t heal/cleanses themselves would be unviable.

Power Revenant / thieves would be the biggest losers in team fight (or all power dps builds) because they rely on their bunker support to keep them alive.

It become harder now. All viable support bunker amulet got DELETED.

So, time to work your own conditions builds.

It’s not despair.

When class can’t sustain on any amulet no matter if it will fight with meta/non build it’s removed from pvp. I don’t care about pseudo bunkering – i wanted working dps build and this patch has only NERFS.

It depends if you want to play higher pvp tiers

War is easier to learn and you can make much more mistakes then rev. At lower skill tiers you find than much of your burst skills will hit your targets and you will easily progress higher. When you will start to be near diamond tier, you find that much more often people will dodge much of you damage and you will feel slow against better rotating classes. Still war is better then necro for me.

If you have time and want to be really skilled you should find time to train rev. At start it will be hard but it’s right now most rewarding heavy armor class to invest time in pvp. Good rev can hold nodes for some time with great active sustain skills, have great mobility and superior power damage.

And another good thing about rev – rev won’t be nerfed soon:P he needs to sell HoT.

They are pve.

Sure. They are. Just as WvW is PvP. And yet WvW is being considered to be a distinct game mode.

WvW is nothing like 5v5 sPvP so of course it gonna be a distinct game mode. The only difference between raids and openworld/fractals/dungeons is party size.

WvW: 3 servers compete to capture and hold objectives to earn points, killing opponents also gives points with bonus for stomping.
sPVP: 2 5 man teams compete to capture and hold objectives to earn points, killing opponents also gives points with bonus for stomping.

Sure don’t seem to be much different to me. It’s mainly team size and I guess a 3 way vs just 1 opponent.

Always bugged me when people feel there needs to be a distinction between the PVP styles and not the PVE styles as there are very big differences in play style between open world and instanced content.

Let’s keep discussion to topic:)

I personally don’t have anything against raids…ok maybe 10 man thing. I just try explain why we have such mess that keeps raids being bullied from all sides. To be constructive I would suggest few things:

1.MOST IMPORTANT PART – new legendary weapons promised with HoT need to HAPPEN.
2. LS3 and next expansions needs to provide more then few maps that will bore you after 1-2 months. One the most disappointing thing with HoT was that there wasn’t any world boss on scale with Triple Trouble and TT still provides fun (at least for me)
3. Less outfits more skins to fight for in feature releases.

Just give people some reason play pve so they want complain about content that’s not for them.

Your right if you treat gw 2 like any other mmo. On other hand gw 2 pve gameplay, difficulty, fight encounter mechanics, and time to invest to have profits (rewards and generally fun) set’s it’s apart in my opinion from raids.

Am I the only one who serously gets freaked out when reading this thread?

‘I don’t want to raid but I want to get the loot from it.’ How old are you? 4?

Just to clarify my point, every MMORP there is had endcontent which was exceptionally hard and thus would give those who could beat it the best(-looking) stuff in the game.
Why would anyone who actually put in the time to actually progress through the raids (we’re speaking of several weeks with 2-5 evenings spent on trying to figure out the mechanics of the boss encounters) want that Anet gives people, who are not willing (or able) to put the effort in to learn the mechanics, the same stuff they worked hard for?
As in real life there’s even in MMORPs a high effort/risk – high reward scheme.

Noone would every come to you and say “Oooooh poor you, you didn’t want to do your homework and learn for your exams, here’s your degree anyway.”

I’m so sick of this ’but I want this, too – attitude".

You would be right if raids didn’t outshine weak design and content of pve HoT. Arena even failed to bring new legendary weapons! I just say that casuals feel forced to do content that wasn’t design for them. I have no problem with difficulty or fact that you have to learn and invest a lot of time to do raiding.

I see guilds training raids all the time.

…you really didn’t read what i wrote at all. Or didn’t bother to understand what i wrote.

I really have no idea what point you’re trying to make.

Do you need to join a super special raid guild to raid? No. Plenty of people pug.

Does joining a guild help? Yes. It’s helpful to have repeat players.

There is no raid “lifestyle.” Just people who enjoy that type of content. It’s ok not to like it.

If you are having trouble filing your guild group, you can fill the gaps with pugs or join a bigger guild.

Ok guys what your discussion contributes at this point?

Raids could stay as they are now if pve mode has endgame to pursue. If HoT wasn’t so pointless to play people wouldn’t be lured for pve loot in raids (legendary armor, skins, gear and achievements). It’s same with problems with league awards in pvp – too many people to just grind to get pve stuff.

Make pve worth playing by being profitable and fun game mode and viable alternative to different parts of game (pvp, raids, wvw). Then raids can stay as they are and casuals are happy and hardcore players are happy.

Maybe I add something to discussion. This will be long one.

Back before HoT pve endgame looked like this – you get 80lv, start crafting/buying exo gear and start doing dungeons and in some time fractals. Some did it for cash to buy legendary weapons, some to buy gear to flush it in mystic WC to get again legendary weapons . Or just buy some rare cool skins so your main and alts looked rare and cool. In 1-1.5h or less with zerk group of 5, you could get …I don’t remember 20 gold? Then shovels happened.

I was in different group – I wanted achievements points, rare titles and such. So i did a lot of different things, with a plan (when and how I do this and that) and tried to be good at them to get those pve, pvp, wvw titles. I was so happy that did most LS2 ap’s alone (or maybe with help of Dulfy site). 2 years I played like that and I was happy. When I was bored and there wasn’t anything to do I grinded legendary weapon. Yup I made Sunrise because I was bored.

Then HoT was announced . I expected so much things – new ap’s, skins and armours…new world boss like triple trouble. Elite Specialisations look like a grate thing to start play this game different and fresh. I wanted so much to test rev in dungeons…

And Hot happened…with maps made in sliverwaste’s fashion, with meta events you don’t care about. Why should I put any effort for 2 sad armor sets and 2 sets of weapons. Why should grind or struggle with collections and HoT achievements for horrible amount of time FOR F….. 3 or 1 AP?! Ok HoT maps are dragging me down so let’s go and get some new tasty legendary weapons…and we know all what happened…
In summary HoT MURDRED old PVE’rs END-GAME, DID’NT HAVE ANY NEW ONE and mega ultra boring chest farms were still going and going.

And raids happened. And I say to myself at lunch of 1st wing – Hey, it’s looks like dungeons, it feels similar, it have exclusive legendary armor and there are tons of achievement’s there . I can buy ASCNEDED GEAR THERE! AND THERE ARE NEW skins there! Spirit Vale, just one wing has 91 (compere that verdant brink boring ap’s) ready to fight for. This must be my pve endgame here. It feel like dungeon or fractal so i need to call my friends, make a team and have great gw 2 TS playtime. But I was WRONG. It was much harder then anything before. I wiped with my friends and guildmates to get used to mechanics and it dragged on and on. It’s was horrible to get 10 ppl to play at the same time and most of the time we have to do it in middle of night. When raid fewer started I didn’t almost sleep and I had to still go to work. And people where starting to don’t care and lose interest…or were just too tired like me. PVP leagues happened and kinda worked better for my busy life so I left 90% pve content and raids.

What I learned in that days that RAIDS ARE NOT PVE. Nothing you can compere it from pre HoT days or new instanced content BUT 100% PVE’ers feel like it cause THERE IS NO END-GAME in HoT. RAIDS has so good rewards that makes anything else in HoT like pure garbage. WVW or PVP don’t care for loot but PVE is all about it and HoT KILLED PVE ENDGAME.

Because of that I don’t believe that LS3 will fix this mess. True loot that PVE part of community want’s is in raids that is different play mode that wasn’t made for them.

And I don’t believe that story mode or easy mode or solo raid mode will change anything either. I have seen so many times with stupid dungeons that pugs group’s had problems with 5 man team’s…so it would be just horrible with 10 man nerfed raids even if it was again full zerk meta or leave. People will still cry that it’s too hard and mistake it’s difficultly with horrible struggle to get 10 people who can do this regularly to be good at it. IS It normal for guys to have access to in game content by searching REDDIT or GW 2 Forums just to get in training runs!? Maybe some of you had luck to be in right guild or knew right people and had time from start but for me after playing only pvp seasons to this day THIS IS ONLY WAY GET IN RAIDS. So I ask -WHY THIS HAD TO BE 10 MAN CONTENT.

As usually I regret you had to read my awful English. I hope some of you survive that and read it.

why always so cryptic?… I am going to give you a few sincere and polite opinions about the communicating approach you guys are having, please, take them as a way to improve, thats the goal of my opinions.

Basically…There is nothing clear on this post, Mike… We dont even know if LS3’s episode 1 is even made, which i guess it was the real point of the post…

You say you still have a lot of work on it.
you say that you will no longer make quarterly updates, but more (giving the whole idea about when or what on the air)
No word at all (or at least in a clear way) about today’s patch (if its any). Cause the way you spoke, we can expect LS3 episode as soon as today or in 3 years…

If you cant or dont want to clarify anything (which is completly understandable, dont get me wrong), dont say anything at all.
Because these posts… make me lose faith on the project, tbh, and im a pretty normal guys, i guess some peopl will feel the same.

For instance, and going back: what about today? LS3? Quarterly Patch?, nothing? all of those are understandable optionts, you dont need to ship anything if is not ready. But communicate, please!

what should i tell to a friend who ask for GW2? “they are doing an episode of LS3, but we dont know when it is going to be launched. we only know it is very difficult to do and it demands 1 million voice actors and close to a year of developement…”
I cant understant why Raid team worked (to my eyes, i dont know the inside things) so good, efficiently (i think they are less than 20 devs), delivering great quality content (even when is a content for a clear minority, taht would eb another subject about anet course…), in a marked schedule, that all players could follow and relate… and the rest of the game is so up in the air and looks so messy from outside?

I love GW2, and really appreciate your work anet, today and throught all those 4 years, but you better step up your game soon (in all senses, but mainly in communicating that is the subject).
Specially if you are planning on launching expansion 2 eventually. Because… what is the actual project? i cant really tell. Dont even can tell when LS3 is going to be launched. as i said before, it may be today! and there is no advertise at all…
The only thing more or less clear is that you guys are trying to save the furnitures, seems you are working hard, cause you have a lot on the line to lose, but you are doing it in a weird way in my opinion, with a weird way of no communicating your plans.
Plans that you may have pretty clear (i hope at least you have it clear), but that it never gets translated into us. from my point of view (and i dont know if the rest feel the same or what), i see anet like a ship without captain, without clear course, on the drift. Or maybe there is a course, and there is a captain, but both are hided, waiting to change in case a storm appears… Who would want to join into that kind of ship? you may ship towards New york, but because a storm came into place it change route and you end in Florida?, did you thought about that, about what players and costumers may think of a ship without a clear route? Would you pay money for a trip on a ship with no route and schedule rather than one that will land you into an specific place in an specific time?

If you said, “we plan or we have scheduled to launch LS3 on the summer”, by example, THAT is communicating.
Even when is not specific, it gives you 3 months of margin. And even if you fail to deliver it in that time, with a good explanation or reason, we all can understand it. But instead you say: LS3 is very hard to do and we still have a lot of things to finish.
So… what is the messege? that you are experienceing troubles? that devs are not good enough?…
when do you plan to finish it? what is the schedule? what is your plan? Are you able to finsh it or will be like Legendaries?

As a conclussion: to me this comunicating approach is a mess. It shows lack of guidance even if there is a guidance somewhere internally and hided to us.
All is open, just in case you fail on the delivery or you change your mind along the way, like you did with legendary weapons. Thats not way of winning trust of anyone, but the opposite. And you keep doing it…

Is sad to see all these and having to explain it… Step up, guys. You have a lot to lose if you dont and a lot to win if you do.

Post feels more like PR damage-control and it looks like it’s already working on reddit. Many expected (who knows why) that after end of pvp season 3 we would have big content patch with LS 3.

3. We don’t know for what content we are waiting for such long time.

How is this even considered playable?

Problems of amber and emerald division are not problems of rest of divisions.

You can’t kill ele auramancer? Maybe because:

1. You try to kill him with other bunker build on his point
2. You don’t +1 him with dps build like thief
3. You don’t try to out rotate him if he’s afk on mid.
4. You don’t know that ele is pure support build , not tank and he can’t tank 1v1 some classes in good hands like rev, mes, thief.
5. You don’t know how to use your build – one moa can kill ele if used with coordinated team.
6. You never played ele and you just don’t know what are talking about.

Ok, new to this argument but I’m seeing a problem here.
“Oh, you can’t kill ele? Here, try these 6 things, 4 of which include “use an entire coordinated team to kill him, but only if you happen to have the perfect mix of classes” and the other two consist of “fight around him, he’s unkillable but won’t do much by himself”.

If one class is SO OVERWHELMINGLY POWERFUL that the best advice is “2v1/3v1 him” and thus implying it takes multiple people doing everything just right to kill a single elementalist, then perhaps the elementalist is too powerful?

Right now, literally no class can reliably 1v1 an ele, assuming both players are equally skilled. They can fight to a draw, maybe chase the ele off a point, but not outright kill him. And the only one that even comes close is signet necro. Yes, you get a better necro against a worse ele, necro’s gonna win. A good player can kill a bad player (reliably) regardless of classes involved.

I ll give you a hint sir – ever you heard about outnumbering? Nooo? So it’s most basic thing in game – you create 1v2,4v5 and any of such team fights to quickly stomp enemy players and snowball rest of the match. Ow…you thought this FPS game….

And Mesmer is perfectly legit to kill ele 1v1 if he can moa him in right moment between cooldown, pin down him with sword 3 and blast him to oblivion with shatters…Rev and Thief can do this too…it’s matter of skill.

Funny what people say about build that was made to only support other classes and can’t bunker most 1v2. And if ele try’s to bunker somewhere alone, whole team might die during team fight on other node because there was no heal to support classes that literally carry every game (rev,mes,thief sometimes engi and war…). That’s why rank 55 dragons lost their championship to TCG on last finals…but I know →nobody watches pro’s, there is nothing to learn from them.

It’s a kinda funny topic. Generally thief shouldn’t fight with you alone when you stand on your node, especially if you run meta build. He will lose some time, he needs to be very cautions for your cooldowns. Generally you should outheal him and he will be slowly eaten by your fire auras and earth overloads.

Best tip is not to use your overloads (only earth) and skills with long castimes. DD interrupts are painfull. Just be aggressive and force him to run. I lightning whiped so many bad thiefs…

For cleanses yes. Something like water signet being a full cleanse like warrior signet and not the chill would be great.

I would be happy it it worked like ranger’s sygnet of renewal or would give us alacrity boon for every condi removed – it would help so many ours cooldowns.

Totally disagree, tempest is the only one mandatory class per team, with this bunkerish, dps, cc, condi, clean, aoe pressure, team impact!

And I disagree with this part – it lacks pressure, condi dps hard cc. That’s why ele can’t kill anything besides bad thiefs by outhealing them. There is no might stacking meta so our team buffing is only by protection and regeneration boons so we don’t offer much dps change to team. Our team impact is that we make bad players die slower and carring ones some long cooldown heals and broken condi clense (it’s rng what condi cleans and allways those bleeds and god know what stick to team). That’s all:(

I like dagger quite but since HoT sustain creep our dps inferior to most dps specks. Ele on berserker couldn’t do a thing to naked scrapper.

Ele has bad sustain outside of bunker healer builds. Healing skills are useless considering the fact that they have the lowest base HP and Armor in the game. They need to dump stats into vit/toughness to at least make the heals useful which results into having lower stats for DPS. This is the only reason why Eles are pidgeonholed into supports aside from the fact that they make great supports.

Here are some possible stand alone buffs meaning not all of them need to be added. Listed buffs barely affect the current meta support Tempest.

Solution A: Rework class mechanics. 4 attunements and 20 weapon skills are not enough to carry bad base stats.
• Make Elemental Attunement a core mechanic but limited to the Elementalist. Will need to trait to Arcana to be able to share boons with it.
• Make Healing Ripple a core mechanic but nerf the healing by 50% and heals self only. Will need to trait water to bring the healing back to its current level and heal allies.

Reasoning – Eles now have base survivability through boons and small heal without traiting to water. A decent ele will take advantage of attunement swapping again.

Solution B: Add self sustain and self condition removal on Fire/Air/Arcane traits. All buffs are added effects to the current ones.

• Persisting Flames – Remove X condition every Y seconds while inside a fire field.
• Pyromancer’s Puisance – Applying burn and attacking burning foes heals you.
• Tempest Defense – Get 2 seconds of Protection when CC’ed on a 5 second ICD.
• Reworked Elemental Attunement – Elemental Attunement now shares boons to allies. Heal yourself for a small amount when applying boons.
• Tempestuos Aria – Reduce Shout CD by 20%.
• Elemental Bastion – Increase base healing from auras by X. Decrease scaling to balance it out. End result – having the same healing power pre and post balance results to the same overall healing.

Solution C: Add more condition removal on weapon skills and add small buffs.
• Dragon’s Tooth – Increase radius to 240. Increase delay by 0.5s
• Phoenix – Now removes 2 conditions.
• Water Trident – Remove 1 condition.
• Heat Sync – Convert up to 2 conditions into boons.
• Dust Storm – Reduce condition damage by 20% while inside the area of effect.

Solution D : Open up new builds. Eles are supposed to be the Kings of Fire and Ice and control.
• Soft Control Ele – Give non-damage multiplier offensive traits on Water trait line like adding chance to chill your opponents and increase chill duration. Add more chill related effects on water weapon skills.
• Hard Control Ele – Rework Signets/Glyphs so that they apply Hard CC (Freeze/KD/KB) instead.

Solution E: Balance utility Cooldowns.
• Balance Arcane Skills
• Balance Cantrips (who needs 10 stacks of stab on a 75s CD?)

Solution F: Remove some nerfs
• Ride the Lightning – Reduce CD and/or make it work like Ancestral Grace to remove travel-related bugs
• Other skills

Increase the base Health Pool.
11.5k is unacceptable and is the sole reason why Ele is forced into a bunker spec.

I would like that but it won’t happen. Bigger health pool would impact pve and wvw to much and devs don’t like that. If it would happen we would have elementalist only raids for example. We need just more active selfish sustain skills and traits. Good thief and DH do their job with just a little more health.

No class should be unkillable like ele is right now, no matter what excuse people might use.
Though, after trying ele myself, it seems only viable build is game breaking build. So, this class needs more build diversity.

My suggestions:
1) Upgrade conjuring, make it into viable abilities, add more synergy from traits. On paper, conjuring sounds awesome for pvp.
2) Reduce healing on everything, especially on auramancer.
3) Increase damage, mainly direct damage.
4) Upgrade/rework scepter.
5) Change some CD on several abilities (more active defense from active abilities, less defense from aura dancing)
6) Fire and frost aura should last longer.

We make no excuses…go on the ele sub-forum we’ve been asking for the same things..for more than 3 years

-rework scepter
-give us more active defenses, reduce passive
-rework fire/air traits

etc etc etc…

Nobody ever asked to play healbot or bunker with no dmg but we players have no control on the balance team so blame them and not the players

Hi all

Soon we will face season 3 ending and new balance patch. I decided to start this topic in hope that some of our elementalist community would give balance team some ideas how to improve our class. Somehow I don’t see any interest or activity of devs on our profession forum…and any other, so I am posting here. So write your feedback, stay positive and be open minded.

It looks like in previous patches Arena decided to make at least one build per class working. That’s why we got 8 classes in meta and DH that works fine in solo queue but it’s hard to use pro league. IF they don’t try get back nerf to obvlion style balance updates, they are in soild spot to start working on some builds variety THAT ELE’S NEED SO MUCH. Why you ask?

I don’t have any problem with tempest D/F auramancer build. Build as build works fine. It works great when you are in premades and you can carry a lot. But it’s NOT the same thing in solo q. As solo q ele we can only help classes that can really carry to do their job but that’s all. If team don’t have focus or have damage ele makes only lost match longer. Good or bad ele doesn’t have so much impact on match like rev, thief or mesmer…and any other class.

I know that many people have problem with killing ele and mistakes current meta build with BUNKER -> that’s players skill issue. The real issue is that it doesn’t matter if Ele’s likes or not pure support/pseudo bunker play style we don’t any choice. WE ARE FORCED to play this style.

1. Change cleric amulet to something with more dps? Ele ->dead
2. Change traits, maybe use some fire traits? Ele ->dead
3. Change utility skill maybe some signets or glyphs? ELE->dead. Catnips are not so horrible but don’t change play style at all, just more selfish support.
4. Change weapons maybe? Ele useless or dead depending on choice.

So this is truth…we don’t have any choice if we are maining ele in pvp.

So this my ideas for balance team:

1. General idea is that D/F auramancer build is in good spot in completive premades. We just need another build to play at least solo. I might be not right in my ideas for balance but I am more then right that whole ele community would sold their souls to play any kind dps build that could matter in solo q. If there was any completive enough build then it would effect -90% drop rate of usage of cleric auramancer build in solo q. Trust me.

2. Rework some traits in fire, arcane, air trait lines that are not used in pve so we could get good selfish sustain using dps amulet. There are so many traits that doesn’t have any sense in any build like: (fire) conjurer, blinding ashes; (air) one with air, inscription. If you dig in you can find many more.

3. Give us more amulet options. Mender is only usable against pure condi team and that’s all. Give us something like sage but scrap vitality and power for more condi and toughness.

4. Rework some utility skill like sygnets. Sygnet of water is my favourite…passive works the same way like rangers sygnet of renewal but ele’s version doesn’t have break stun, and full team condi clear. What ele has? Chill on active…super usefull…

5. Most of classes out there use or can use effectively their new HoT weapon in pvp …but not tempest. I don’t mind dps/heal output of warhorn. I like design of this weapon and I would be more then happy to use it with sceptre. But I can’t because it’s so much clunky to efficiently use it. Skill’s Tidal Surge, Dust Storm, Cyclone are so much hard to use, you never know if you can hit something with it even standing face to face. Water Globe it’s to fast to blast it in right place in team fight by you or your team. Skills animation overall are slow and hard to use in right time and most of time you will have to face tank everything.

People here talk as if ele doesn’t have the most imbalanced downed state ability called mist form… xD

Yeah, you kill ele using over 9000 cooldowns that could’ve been spent more efficiently
>his teammates use stealth on his body
>he mist forms somewhere a mile away and gets ressed EACH TIME.

That’s what happens in reality, enjoy.

Condi still does damage in mist form…
Immobilize still keeps ele in one place in mist form…
If ele drops down from highs will insta die in mist form…so it’s a bad idea to use it on some maps…
Rev/and mes will catch up, drop some cc on ressing ppl and thief just insta stomp.

Maybe you should play with this op ele and check how op it is and enjoy it how SO MUCH HORRIBLY enjoys it much of ele’s community.

How is this even considered playable?

Problems of amber and emerald division are not problems of rest of divisions.

You can’t kill ele auramancer? Maybe because:

1. You try to kill him with other bunker build on his point
2. You don’t +1 him with dps build like thief
3. You don’t try to out rotate him if he’s afk on mid.
4. You don’t know that ele is pure support build , not tank and he can’t tank 1v1 some classes in good hands like rev, mes, thief.
5. You don’t know how to use your build – one moa can kill ele if used with coordinated team.
6. You never played ele and you just don’t know what are talking about.

1-10: How to kill the remaining casuals that pvp.

Some thoughts: If you introduce a blank slate mmr it would not be extremely volatile the first few weeks because you would have on an extreme situation very experienced players playing with -not so- experienced players and have players similarly rise up (think of season 1) who don’t deserve to be at that division.

I’m pretty sure the reason why they don’t show MMR is hidden behind purely bad optimization on their back end, people were asking for this almost 3 years ago and the best response I got from a dev through private messaging was "I don’t recall why we don’t show MMR, but the algorithm is fairly difficult to understand. I’m sure I don’t even fully understand it, and I’m still working on that. " -2 years ago and since then the dev left Anet.

I feel the positives far outweigh the negatives on showing MMR ratings. It would neutralize a lot of complaining or validate it, depending on what the MMR shows.

When I think about mmr showing and I think of days of old leaderboard. It was based purely on mmr and at start season 1 I could check it every day to see how I progressed with my skill and compare it to my friends or guild mates. Devs scraped it because they told back then that legendary in game lader will be better to show skill. Today every division rank is too arguable to show how you improve or not.

Can we have any of these?

1.) Losing pips and tiers starting amber.

2.) MMR reset to 0 (New players should not be given Average MMR)

3.) Entry Level to leagues (Atleast 2500 games in pvp) to avoid terrible/ pve / smurfing oblivious players in pvp “Its called Leagues for a reason”

4.) Pugs Should not Face Preamdes

5.) Appropriate Sanctions should be Given to RQs / AFKERs..

6.) Make the Reward worth it for Hardcore PvP players.

7.) Make Divisions a good representation of Skill

AND

8.) Show our MMR, atleast if get blowout matches we know if we are just out played or plain suck.

9.) 5-5 Matchmaking not 5-6 or 5-7. Thats why we should see MMR. (i.e. Team A 2100 MMR vs Team B 2200 MMR)

10.) We should See MMR so we know if there is an existent matchmaking or atleast a working one.

4. Agree but it means that teams will hardly fight anything – mmr would take hours to find anybody on fair skill level.

6. Most hardcore players don’t care about legendary back – they want fact that if you are in legendary division it means that your skill is legendary to other players and they are better then rest. You know → something to feed their sky scrapper ego’s.

7. It’s mmr problem and mmr problem is that it tries to measure something that very subjective and more team based then individual skill – carring matches is myth.

8. MRR never should showed before match – we already know that much of community (I don’t talk about forums) is toxic and immature and we can’t expect that they will use in with good will. Might better idea to show it after match.

9.I wonder what happen if there wasn’t any mmr and only premades in leagues.

Int/Energy might be fun sigils with that setup. Possibly glyph heal adds more dynamic.

This build was made to use with sigil of energy and it works quite nice with latent stamina. You can’t spam dodges but there will be enough do damage/heals. Rev can do it so we can do it^^.

Int sigil is nice idea and i will test it. Glyph heal it’s not bad heal but shout gives a lot more and heals team at same time.

I looked in your build and I know why you want cleansing flame but lighting flash is always better for ele. You can run, kite and it’s a life saver.

I dropped water traits from my build cause I can’t allways trust that regeneration will clear condi’s that are killing me. Arcane is there to dodge burst skills and do stuff while I am doing like keeping diamond skin 75% or bleed/burn people.

Hmm you can always change for diamond skin if condi removal is needed:) Rev deal fine with them by just dodges, blocks etc.

By damage you mean power damage? This is a condi build mixed with support. When I was testing could stack some 3-4k burns.

I am little sick of cleric healbot meta so I made this sage imitation of old celestial builds. I am kinda was surprised that anet changed again sigil of energy that now gives 25% endurance back. Build was made for team fights and can do 1v1 depending what is against you. Thief will be bad news for you mostly.

Ranked PvP - D/D Tempest Viable?

There are few problems with dps ele.

1. When you use dps amulet like marauder you find that you can’t do insta burst combo like most classes right now. DPS of tempest is great (that’s way it’s so meta in raids) but it’s to slow build up damage.

2. Power creep – for most other classes it’s easy to hit you 4k and more in mere seconds and have decent follow up. Rev, thief and engi can sustain this by tons of low cooldown dodge samping, invurablities, blocks, shadowsteps, passive heals and god knows what skills and traits. What Ele has you ask? Some long cooldown heals, 1 teleport and stone skin on focus…You can go to team fight with pure dps amulet and you die faster then necro and DH under 3 man pressure. That’s why in most matches as ele you WILL HAVE TO take cleric if you just don’t want to die.

3. I always tend to find that if enemy team discovers that ele don’t have dagger/focus he’s insta bursted by whole team. If they got thief – prepare for insta stomp in team fight from back. Most people in ranked knows ele’s problems with self sustain and will take advantage of that.

There are some possibilities to play more offensive ele but always HoT power creep will drag you down depending of classes against you. Mender and Sage amulet can do damage but always in team fight. Even if you won’t do much damage you will provide some heals for team that can be much more important sometimes. Those amulets give some healing power and vitality that is always better then cleric against pure condi builds. Power builds will have advantage tho and GOOD thief will murder you in seconds. I personally prefer sage amulet over mender for 1k bleeds and 3k burn stacks that are easy to make on D/F auramancer build but I use it only if I have to play with other ele on my team and me or him is lazy to change.

I see a large number of pub training runs when I pub, and I also train up anyone in my guild who’s interested in raids when we go together. You just need to find a group willing to take you and be willing to spend some time looking. Seriously, search the guild recruitment forum on this board and you’ll find tons of hits.

I assume you want to cheer me up and thanks for that but I didn’t write here to rant or talk about my raiding problem. I wrote about quite a lot of people problem with raids.

If you didnt get in at the start then for most its to late,that boat has sailed.
people already experienced dont want inexperienced slowing them down.
There are some that see this as a big problem and offer teaching.but they are few and far between.I relay dont see raids lasting.

So after long break from anything besides pvp i decided to do some raiding. This would be my first raiding experience cause I didn’t play any other mmo. I geared up my tempest from ascended loot from fractals, checked builds and spend some gold on sigils, insignias and runes. I watched few walkthroughs. Next step was lfg tool. And what I see?

and the best one: ,, VG training – need exp players".

When I was looking on discussions here of psycho WoW Eliterist, turbo optimistic ,,raids are casual friendly’’ people, to easy people, too hard people and more like that and I decided to forget about raids. And load of people will do. Maybe 10% knows about this forums and ,,how it’s easy to get in raids" posts. For 90% will see these LFG’s. And this is reality of majority of community.

The 2 things that your screenshots lacks are team compositions and individual score.

Most builds are better in some teams and horrible with other ones. Example Bow DH and Condi Necro can’t do their job if there is no support around like ele, DH bunker or engi. Rev is weak against condi dealers like Mesmer. You might simply lose because somebody didn’t check enemy team and change to do something that could work well in that particular match.

We also can’t see how many points had your teammates. Some matches should be won but somebody didn’t do they role like thief who don’t roam and +1 on time. Ele fights away from team fights so no aoe heal for team OR FIGHTS ON ENEMY NODE WITH THIER ELE 1v1.

Most people here blame mmr and mm but fail to look ahead before match, check enemy team, change build little or change class to fit better and know what their role is and what is not.

I hope this little info will help. Sorry for horrible English.
