Keg Brawl is awesome.

But certain balance changes really need to be added if it’s going to be taken seriously.

The lob is nessesary as otherwise it’s just a zergfest, but intercepting the lob needs to be made far more intuitive.

1. Make the lob have a shallower angle, so that people can run in front of lobs to intercept, and intercept them on the way down.

2. Give the lob a reasonable cast time, 2 seconds is insane and does not allow teams to properly organise. 4 seconds would mean far more skill.

3. Make goal keeping more viable. The hitbox for the npc is so wide at the moment that having a goalie protecting against lobbers is not very effective. Team games require more than zerging and lobbing. Change a useless ability to a stand still protective barrier that can prevent wide field lobs from being an instant score. Make the bubble interuptable or counterable or something so a player is encouraged to go offensive.

4. Give the 1 pass a higher angle and a faster travel speed. Currently fumbles are far too easy, and aiming is far too difficult on moving teammates that endless back and forth lobbing is the only real meta strat.

It sounds like you just want the game changed so that you don’t lose as much, because maybe you aren’t good at playing the game.

Asura is hands down the most entertaining race to me. Best dance and animations, nice detail. I love the Charr and how their tails swish back and forth, and they run on all fours.

HOWEVER, I run human or norn, cus they are sexy or Big and sexy.

Also….I thought before the game came out that I’d want to be a Sylvari when I heard about them, but plant ppl is just not really that ……idk….its plant ppl.

One day recently in Vigil Keep, I saw a flame elemental with a player name and a red Anet icon next to their name. They were just sitting there, flapping their wings over some magic snow. I shoulda got a screen but I didn’t.

Remember GM’s? I work for a living, I don’t want to work when I play a game. I see bots tele to nodes I’m mining constantly. I don’t report them, becuase I’m playing, not working, but I HATE the idea that I might be buying mats from a bot.

I aggree with you Nark. They have teams for every other aspect of the game. Set up some GM’s for pete’s sake. Sit at a node for an hour and catch them yourselves. Get paid to do it, and stuff.

It could be that we have secret GM’s, and all the better to catch them that way….but if so, they could be doing better.

I just want to add my vote here as well. This topic is really nothing new, and should imo be considered seriously.

There are I think two outfits appropriate to a thief, and none appropriate to a ranger. Trenchcoats and Pirates are ok for eng I suppose, but I have yet to lvl a med armor class because the look I want is just not there.

These are just my opinions, but I know they are shared, and not new. There was talk in map chat in Queensdale with the newbies over this exact issue yesterday. If new players aren’t enticed by the med armor sets, then we will get less new med armor players.

What’s amazing to me is that you can avoid the forums for any game entirely, and tend to enjoy the game alot. It takes someone on the forums to tell you that something is wrong or bad, lol?

I only come to the forums to check for game breaking bugs, or Incredibly Helpful tips out of the blue, usually regarding classes. Yet I get sucked in to the cesspool of the worst 2%, and stuff.

I don’t know Dorian scale, but can’t you get like an A, B, C? or C, D, something?

I know only need like the same three notes to play Louie Louie, some Creedance….

Just thought I’d post this helpful tip sort of thing, since it comes up in some way or fashion in other threads during every event ever. I don’t expect it to change anything, but if I help even one person, then it will be worth it.

-When there is an Event in an MMO, just take a breath, be patient, and see what happens. I know there is a strong temptation to do Everything New, and get Everything New before anyone else on the continent, but listen, the vets will tell you…

-bugs happen, alot, alla time. Expect them after any and every patch. If time allows, don’t do anything vital right after a patch.

-don’t kitten the cash shop as soon as an event starts. If an event lasts two weeks, and you aren’t sure what will happen, rewards given, just chill out and hold your dollars rather then spend the triplets lunch money on chests for a chance at useless pixels you could get for free a week later…..and stuff.

I’m sure there’s other good tips, but I’ll open it up to the wise community.

I liked the Tixx events, especially because I was able to practice in group play without Puging a dungeon.

On the down side, I’d say I really get into the scavenger hunt events, such as the halloween book events. Although I can see how it is hard for low lvls, I have to say that I love any excuse to explore out in the beautiful world you’ve made, as well as learning more lore while having fun.

I’ve read that legendaries and ascended gear will someday follow this model somehow, so that would be cool and stuff.

On the upside again, I got some minis and skins without doing much but playing the game and having fun, so can’t complain there. One skin I really wanted was Princess Wand for my mesmer, and I got two so far for free, plus countless sweaters and stuff I haven’t even traded in yet.

Also, I really like the music. I always love the music in this game.

So I purchased gems to get all the Tixxs’ Mini’s then later there is an update and I can now craft another in game. This seems unfair to anyone that made the purchase from the gem store.

Apparently some of us who DID open the chest got the rewards via mail as well.

I haven’t logged on yet but, I wondered about this before I tried Tixx on day six. I had seen that others had problems with the chest, so part of me said wait, but part of me said, “Looks fine, try it”.

Anyways, I tried it and it worked fine, got my trash from chest.

Point being that in the Karka event, I DIDN’T participate in the final event, because everything up to that had been soooo laggy and therefore No Fun, that I didn’t bother. YET, I got free compensation trash that I barely felt entitled too.

So, I guess if I log on now, I’ll get more free trash I wasn’t originally intended to get, but now I do. So silly.

Ventari or Princess? Golem is no way. Cube that makes horrible noise? Lolok

I know of some ppl that log on to get dailies. That is so off to me. This is a game, not a job. While achievements shouldn’t be easymode, they shouldn’t be elite either. Indeed, no one cares about what you’ve done as much as you do. They serve to demonstrate some of the extremes attainable in a given time. It’s a carrot, you know? It’s nothing.

imo, achievements shouldnt be something everyone can get… i suck at pvp, i hadnt even tried the snowball fight and i got the title (then i went and played the snowball fight -for completionism- and found it quite enjoyable), if someone cant complete the jumping puzzle; they should not get the holiday title (sure it would suck for those with physical conditions preventing them from being able to achieve it; but then again… why would they be playing a game that requires a certain amount of manual dexterity?)

No one cares what title You, or anyone else has. Seriously. However achievements began and stuff, the only value imo is to suggest what is actually possible in a game.

Maybe they think like, why would we even try to do something like this again, if all those greedy kids are doing is complaining and kittening about every single stupid little thing, over and over again. In the web show The Guild, that guy who is the creator of The Game is constantly making a note of every troll that calls him a name as if he really cares. I think that is the parody of your point. These incredible artists must not only have very thick skin, but probably also avoid the forums as much as possible. Funny that most ppl who love the game share the same characteristics. (I can’t cofirm that last statement, just my suspicion, LOL, take it easy ppls and have some fun.)

My impression was that they are wooden toy weapons, although I can see where the flat-ness of them would lend itself to a gingerbread interpretation. However, if they were gingerbread, I would expect the flourishes and accents to be candy and frosting, not viking helmets (hammer) and green leaves that look painted on. Did you notice the white flourishes glow and pulse? Almost makes me want to buy a few. Too bad I have to buy gifts for others atm.

Did you notice the large Quaggan Kid plushie in Lion’s Arch amid the presents? I had to wonder if that was thrown in after all the love came in from the Halloween Quaggan kids.

I’m not sure if Anet knew what they were getting into, but Quaggan kids are about to surpass Mogs I think, and I need one on a keychain right now!

It has the same icon as all the other crafted exotics so odds are its the same skin..

@ OP, think outside of the box, this isn’t a trinity game, I can think of 3 classes off the top of my head that the armor would be useful for….

OP is not saying that it is useless. (Ok ya he did in the title but I don’t think that’s what he meant entirelly) He is saying that the 1% boon duration is disproportionate. I think he’s saying that it should be a little more then 1%. Even though Anet has made it clear how they want to balance in baby steps, I can see OP’s point here.

On the other hand, gear that gives crit damage tends to only come in 1%‘s too, so maybe that’s what they were thinking at the time.

…and this is why:

-I’m lvl 73 guardian, but still very new to the class, and don’t have all my trait pts yet. Tixx event is giving me a great opportunity to work with PUG’s and see how my guard strategies work in action (since they are primarily group based) without running any dungeons. I’m not against dungeons, and in fact plan to run them alot, but Tixx event is like a nice practice skirmish thing.

-I got my first Exotic drop. I have an 80 Mesmer, and so far crafted all her exotics, and have yet to be so bored as to farm Orr or anything like that. So the fact that I got an exotic from chest on like…. my fourth run was amazing to me. AND, its a Bezerker Flame hammer, and I just happen to be a hammer guard, so that’s pretty awesome.

- 6 or 7 run, I got one of the Giver recipes from a gift box that came from the chest, which is just awesome.

I’m having a fun time killing stuff. I don’t care for farming or grind or spam, but I’m having so much fun spamming Tixx, and yet I’m getting good stuff from it too. Good practice, good drops, and it’s only the first day.

I just got it. You don’t have to smash the castle, or wait till the end. We were stuck for awhile, but then I found a low, flat snow covered building, sort of like a Norn hut, that we had missed. It almost looked smashed already since it was low built and stuff. So ya, like the others said, just look hard, but if you try to break it and it doesn’t break, then that’s not it.

Currently using Celestial, Heliotrope, and Blurple. I love the odd names, and Heliotrope sort of matches my eyes. Idk, I feel like I look like some sort of Pokemon, but I love it!

The price will likely go down, and new incentives will be added on a reguler basis in order to intice new players. That’s just business.

No one said you had to play from the first CBweekend, but many ppl did just so they could flaunt that. No perks will be given to new players that will be game breaking. It’s all just pixel trash. Stop crying because you can’t have Everything in the Game, Ever, that Ever Was or Will Be. You wont, you can’t. The game is still awesome.

My assumption was that the “wizards” hat is the same as the “witch” hat that we got during the last days of the Halloween event. In this way, they are offering new players and item that they couldn’t otherwise get, because they weren’t active during the event, while at the same time not taking away from any “loyal” players.

My witch hat is just sitting in my bank taking up valuable real estate, yet I hesitate to delete it cus it was an event item.

We can always expect new incentives for new players to join. Just except that it will happen. But to think that you are really getting the screws over this is so petty…..I just don’t even know how to approach you.
