I’d like Gust to be a rectangular Aoe for a small duration, like a powerful blowing wind in a narrow corridor. By the law of aerodynamics, people with higher resistance would get more impacted.
By the way, i’d like the skills apply some physics basics (some skills in GW1 did): water field=vulnerability to electricity, Fire/ice would induce thermal shock, Fire+wind: increase fire duration or intensity… and that would add more combos possibilities.

I run solo almost everything in this game. My main source of damage is personal might stacking and boon duration for survivability. Looks like that patch will most likely hurt a lot :/

Attunement reduction should be based on your playstyle: 20 points in air = 20% air reduction on a 9s base cd, leaving arcana free to spec for boon duration and something else. A 20/20/10/30/0 build would basicaly give 7.2s/7.2s/8.1s/6.3s for each attunement.

They’re pretty much the only thing that keep me playing, honestly. All great additions to compliment… or create, rather… GW2’s atmosphere.
Same here, Two steps from hell, Brand X Music, Audiomachine, Liquid Cinema, etc. plus some wonderful ingame tracks, also Hans Zimmer, and maybe I should add John Williams and Danny Elfman too.

As it doesn’t make any damage, flame wall could at least burn ennemies’ boons. Cleansing flames for the ennemies: Flames of looooove (Take that morron!)
Oh and remove the internal cd on auras, they’re obvious enough to let ennemies chose wether to hit us or not, or cancel their attacks. Or make it so the might gained from being hit scaled with the intensity of the damage received.

What really ever annoyed me about this skill was the lack of precision in the tooltip (Your skills have a “chance” to inflict x condition depending on your attunement). Great. Couldn’t be less precise. Could just tell “your skills might do something or not, just try and see it for yourself if it’s useless or not, you won’t make any harm anyway”.

How about the ability to increase/decrease the staff AoE (let’s say with mouse wheel) so you can dilute the efficiency (but better for field control) or concentrate it in a smaller area (harder to place, but more deadly). Just imagine meteor shower raining in a smaller area (let’s say upon you), that would actually make each and every metor not a waste and give offense and defense against melee at the same time, or frozen ground would increase chill/aura duration or intensity.

CD is fine by me, I am currently giving frost bow a try and I often end up with my second bow in hands and CD reset. Maybe decrease skill #5 CD & cast time (2s you’re pretty much a sitting interruptible duck and the opponent has plenty of time to get out of range) or make it so you can cast it while moving, and enhance the projectile’s velocity and/or make it follow the target. I know it’s a powerful skill so it may be tough to balance, but you actually have to make it hit to make it powerful. And maybe increase the overall range of the bow (1200 would be nice enough), giving x/F eles like me the ability to compensate the lack of mobility when catching up a fleeing stunwarrior.

I Ab-so-lu-te-ly LOVE my Ele, I have rerolled Mesmer just to get the portal, Warrior, Ranger and Necro, but never could bring myself to play long enough with them. She’s just gorgeous and deadly.
That said, i can understand why so many people (they don’t really “complain”) feel the ele has to be revamped, and i do agree with the most constructive comments because the class mechanics are simply broken. It takes a lot of time and experience (and love too) to master that class, just to get average results. I have met some very proficient and lethal eles in www, but you have to be a monster to get to that level. Most of the time eles are just candies as victims, and fireflies as predators. They’re fine in PvE, but in high level PvP you can’t make one mistake since you don’t have the base survivability (vitality-toughness) to cope for it.
Anyway, the only reward you can get from playing it is personnal satisfaction, and the feeling that you can always do better next time.

Oh I’ve always been obsessed with auras, i just regret they are scattered through every weapon set except scepter wich has none in-built.

Yup, that’s basicaly my build, but you gotta move like crazy with right timing, placement, and combo to inflict average damage. One mistake and you’re done, because of the long CDs, low damage output, lack of synergies, and unability to outrun your opponents, or catch them whenever they flee and come back to fight you while you’re still on CD.

Rainshine: yeah i do love the concept of many focus too, but sadly their design often lack something, i don’t know, or maybe the generic shape often look like a big empty oyster. But i DO like specific shapes like chains/whip/skull/voodoo puppet/bottle/etc.

Just one conjured skill would be fine, and since we’re stuck on the conjured elemental weapon, they could simply make the ele conjure the weapon according to its current attunement. That would make more sense, and let us have 3 new utilities. Just like the elemental summoning, if i ever haven’t made myself clear.

I’m not even sure that boon duration works properly. I run with more than 50% boon duration, so on 8s stab for instance, it should last at least 12s. I’ll check on that.

Another reason the focus is so unloved (besides being hard to play with): their skins are absolutely uninspired (except soul link and anomaly). Most focus look just like… nothing.
It’s bad since I like playing focus, but i agree with everything said above. We were supposed to be able to play our own style, but we are forced to spec arcana and cantrips to barely survive when some classes just have to spam 1 to get average results.
Did anyone mentioned the terrible elites? I would rather have another utility slot. Some weapon skills are even better.
Even the food buffs in WvW is unbalanced since it’s mostly based oh % of vitality/toughness which are our lowest stats to start with.

Ele is the only class in this game I truly enjoy playing. It has the most interesting mechanics, as well as some of the most challenging as this game is fairly simplified in that area.
If you enjoy it, yes it is worth it. If you are just looking for something strong to play, no, pick something else.
Voilà.
Eles are just simply the most stylish class. Even with the lowest HP, lowest armor, and lowest DPS, they still go into melee beautifuly. And THAT is the essence of a true warrior. We get nerfed because we’re just awesome.
