Would eles be called dragon slayers, then? I mean, the guards are not the only one looking to protect people from the dragons, right?
Though the wings would make me think more of Seraphs, something angelic related, and it does still fit the fight against evil theme.

How about double MS? GW1 style.
Maybe a bar that works like adrenaline that makes your attacks/skills faster the more it fills up, and make your next spell instacast whith no cd when you release f5?
For staff: keep running while casting eruption and drop the field when you pass on it at the time it explodes.
Burning retreat forward.
Maybe they’ll listen… there’s still hope…
Or maybe each attunement becomes a virtue with passive effects, and triggers the active when you swap.
And how about a specialization into aspects? Sun/Wind/Lightning that’d fit the name tempest pretty well. I’d love it.

Well, it’s kinda fun for denying a rez. I see dead people flying.
As long as eles remain better players, they wont get any buff/overhaul.
Mesmers needed a buff, they got a big one. Eles didnt need a nerf, they got a big one.

I’d be happy with a full detailed board at the end of each match, and a record available for consultation. Map played, Number of kills, points capped/decapped/defended, damage dealt/taken (normal, crits, and conditions), number of deaths, hp healed….
That would also give players something to read between matches.
What about Ele+Revenant? We could get something like legends, utility sets with no cd but mana management instead, based on human gods (although lore wise it wouldnt fit with all the races). Fire/Balthazar, Air/Dwayna, Earth/Melandru, Water/Grenth, Arcane/Lyssa.
And what about sword/sword? 20 new weapon skills sounds fun. But I’d rather Staff/Sword. Please make my dreams come true. 1200 range aoe + close combat burst.
Guardians get traps, i hope we dont get pets.

Seems like i experienced that just moments ago. I was on the invisible side though. Didnt realise until the end as i dont read map chat, but it seemed too easy indeed.
Well from my point of view, it was nothing more than a lack of tact. I’ve read far worse.
I just wish the reflects worked better. If the ranger is at +1200 range, your reflects wont reach him, wich i find quite unfair. Sure you don’t eat the hits, but you’re not rewarded for good timing either. And he’s not punished either.
Furthermore, i have the impression your reflects don’t do as much damage, do they scale with your own power, or does the ranger eats his full damage? I may be wrong but i have the impression that reflect does less damage than he does to me. Or maybe it’s just because i’m an ele and blows hit harder on me…
Otherwise, i don’t really complain about them.
One can live without EvAr. Dodge less, dodge better. Though i do understand it is useful for might stacking/condiclear and synergises well with water/cantrips cele based builds in order to get high sustain and decent damage at the same time.
I think people got so used to godmode they dont even want to think a way out of it.
I just wish base attunement swap was 9s not 10. Anyway, i think i’ll live outside the arcana tree.

I wont add to much, so many things have already been said. As a staff ele, i’d like auto attacks to be a little bit faster. People don’t even need to actively dodge, just a step aside is enough… fire and earth mostly, but since fire is aoe i believe it’s balanced this way…
I’d be suprised if we were given a decent elite wich doesn’t lock us from our core mechanics. Or maybe it’s something to do with glyphs, like creating a storm according to current attunement whenever we use a glyph… i won’t set my hopes too high though.
I think it’s fair enough, no need to nerf more Although they’re a pain, as said several times above, making turrets scale with engie’s stats would make the game more interresting.
I found playing cele staff ele quite fulfilling. Good at averything: support/escort/buff/heal party and ranged control/dps over ennemies. We just lack interrupt skills against channelling players though.
Plus wiping turrets effortlessly is priceless.
Just crit and burning/chill would be more than enough. The rest of conditions wouldn’t really make any sense.
Anyway, as a staff ele, they’re not really a problem.
Well, anyone is free to use cele amulet to stack up stats or not.
But I’m wondering if anyone knew if there was any justification for the discrepancy in total stat numbers between professions?
I’d say passion and emotion don’t win a fight. Cold blood, tactics, concentration and cooperation do.

Same as above, the one you’re most comfortable and having fun with will be your best bet. Anyway, PvP isn’t about soloing but teamplay so i’d recommand a build that let you support/carry your party in both defense & offense while letting you manage 1v1 on point for at least 30s.
I find skilled mesmers scary, can pop out of nowhere, burst you down instantly, and let the illusions clean up the work. I feel more comfortable against thieves personnaly, since their movements are more predictable.
A mesmer in my team epic failed his blink and died on foefire yesterday, i found that pretty hilarious.
But from my point of view I haven’t noticed any difference yet.

Well i surely had spvp in mind when i opened this thread. But of course any elite can be somewhat useful in PvE. I’d say earth elemental is great in pve.
While i agree our elites are pretty meh, if not extremely situational, i can find one useful application of tornado: to prevent ennemies from resurrecting their allies, to prevent them from stomping yours, or to clean the floor from the dying bodies that prevent you from capping.

Stuck at 99%, the last one seems to never end. Reaching 1100MB slowly but surely hopefully.
What about the player base? What do we have to expect when playing solo ranked?

I find tornado pretty strong when combined with engie’s turrets ?
I play my own builds; i like to test & try different kinds of stuff and I find it funnier this way. I don’t feel like i’m underperforming though i could always play better.
Yeah the thing is even if i equip it i usually forget to use it. My problem as you said, and you’re right. I don’t really like having something in my way, and i’m always pestering against AI doing stupid things, but i’ll try to think about it.
Though my complaint was more about giving players choices. As stated in the manifesto, and as did GW1.
Yeah I know, another Nth QQ thread. It just bothers me that I never use it since i always forget i have one (well most of the time to be honnest). And i can’t understand why our elites should lock us from our core mechanics which is the BASE of our survivability.
I know many of us would rather get an extra utility slot instead, and i know this will fall into deaf ears, but i can see all other professions use their elite and on the rare occasions i see an ele use his elite, no one ever bother to care.
I know this won’t change, but i just had to pour my heart’s content. Thanks for reading anyway. Let’s hope HoT will change something but I’m ready to be disappointed.
I had one 500/500 not so long ago. Never knew who won/lost, but it was exciting and fun so i guess we all won.
Yeah i wish the tornado werent so slow to move/hit. The only thing that runs fast is condition stacking and hp decreasing.
I hope the new elite isn’t a transform or conjure wich locks you from your core mechanics, or a clumsy pet.
I wonder if we can get a new worse elite.
