Almost there. 1600+ left. I did a lot of jumping of course, but also pvp reward track, karma 100/day, other mini games (i like the bell orchestra), and bought some on the TP maybe around 200g (basically all I had). At least I know I can make it in time. I wish you good grind too! I do have a job so yeah I play maybe 2h a day, and more on the weekends. Dont give up!

I don’t mind the bunkers so much (chrono and tempest).
What actually drives me nuts it’s Rev and Scrapper who are kittening unkillable with a glasscanon amulet while having crazy good dps and party support.
Same here. I think that’s part of the reason why people go more bunker. The only issue with chrono is their mobility though.

Got to diamond 100% yolo as a venom share teef, and a handful games as staff tempest (mostly when we were 2 teevz.)
So much hate it was crazy.
Tbh i feel i need to step back before trying legend, not because balance is a mess, not because of the snoozfest meta, but because i need a break from all the braindead hate.
Funny enough, 99% of the hate occurs between 6 to 10pm, so there’s that.

I’m not sure I can find any skill on staff useless. I have prevented more anti caps/decaps with earth 5 than I could count. Even Air 2 is good to bait out dodge at worse.

For the blowing wind part, i never stop, always dodgejump. Works everytime. Hope you get through this, but my best advice is to take your time even if you can do the jumping with your eyes closed. Rushing things opens more rooms for stupid mistakes.

as a side note, that is however a very good strategy to carry if the other team is also bad enough to fall for it ;P
Oh I do that sometimes… but the sad part is when i keep 2-3 guys busy on the other side of the world and nothing happens on our side. Lucky I didn’t get blamed for fighting off point. But yeah, kittening off your ennemies at the start of the match can make them lose focus for the rest.

There’s this underwater area in hotm, never noticed it before so i don’t know how long it’s been open. There’s underwater golem dummies there, so maybe an underwater map soon?

Laraley summed it up pretty well. And because Static field and Unsteady ground are your best defenses against Revenants. The only thing staff lacks is a second aura (or maybe a leap to get the auras from fields) and another blast finisher. Oh and a more reliable gust.
Depending on your playstyle it can be very fast paced though not as much as other weapon sets. But it forces you to get a better field awareness and a wider view. And because of the long aftercasts, you have to read ennemies movements and predict their moves, while dagger and focus are more reactive weapons.
Also, the big downside is people usually don’t know how to play with staff ele in soloq. For instance when I lava font an ally, he could stay in it to reduce melee pressure and maybe get some time to pop a heal or whatever while the ennemy instinctively dodges out, but no. In fact it can be said for most ranged aoe professions: stay in your allies fields and bait your ennemies in, not out. Sometimes support feels like running after headless chickens.

Most of DF tempest I fought against on point with staff lost the cap because of obsidian flesh, so it is a double edged sword. Same with all invis/invulns, you should only use it for support if you have a teammate on the point or if you are sure to get the kill in time. I have been playing DF for a long time, but I find staff so much more glamourous. And aesthetics is what matters. I agree with nearlight, staff has better support and on point pressure + ranged cc though their reliability could be reworked (looking at you gust).

How about adding more stuff to do in hotm? Mystic forge, crafting station, jumpings, gliding, or combat rings when two people enter they can duel? I always find myself jumping on the same rocks, i think it affects my sanity.

They patched it, but all i read in patch note is that you need a target to cast flame burst. I also noticed having more trouble than before in melee combat. Doesn’t work if you’re too close and don’t face your target properly.

Though I find it useless as an ele, i think as someone mentionned above, make it like cleansing water, gain 2-3s resistance when applying protection to yourself or an ally is a good idea to consider.

I find it useful in Mid at Khylo, to deny rez (particularly in shadow refuge), deny stomps, or kb downed ennemies out of the node to cap faster. Oh and for the lord in foefire when he’s about to heal. But I agree the “elite” coud use some more buffs. A speed increase wouldn’t hurt.

Burning is a burst condition and requires combos or staying in fire fields to be effective, others are attrition and can be more spammable.

I think the reason behind this is quite simple. Ele core mechanics revolves around attunement swapping and self comboing. Thus Fire/Air/Earth/Water/Arcane traitlines grant many boons/effects/advantages when you rotate and combo through your attunements. Tempest mechanics competes directly with this by forcing you to stay in one attunement, and keeping you from getting back in it. So by using overloads you lose what the entire class has been designed and balanced around. It would have been fine if weapon skills weren’t set up in fire for attack, water for healing, air for cc and earth for defense. Tempest could actually worth it if we had a weapon swap mechanic like others class do (stronger aa, skills with shorter cd, and better efficiency overall without having to rotate/combo, and no more themathically themed weapon set) and cycling through attunements just to linger to their passive effects and overload. This would limit our weapon skills to 10, but we could switch fighting style on the spot. And – that – would have been the new long awaited playstyle for eles, not a self conflicting one wich offers nothing more that what we can already do in a less efficient way.

They feel like cop-outs. None of the other Elite specializations’ Master/Grandmaster minors are so narrowly targeted to their unique mechanics.
Why? Why do people even SAY things like that out loud?
Go look at Druid (heals or nuthin’), at Dragonhunter (damage bonus only at a range greater than 85% of the class’ kit) or Berserker (bonus while in your profession’s special place… sound familiar?). Then drop the woe-is-me persecution complex and try again.

Can’t agree more, as I already said somewhere else. Something is wrong when you have to heavily trait a spec to make it barely functionnal. It just shows the mechanic is flawed by design.
