Yeah, I stand corrected on that (she always came off as a mesmer to me)
The Elder Dragons are not threatening each other?[CoE spoilers]
in Lore

The Dragons have been suggested they’re not allied with each other
And for that dungeon, we know Inquest is experimenting on harnessing dragon powers, so they probably could control who they attack (not each other)
as for that case where they all attacked one inquest member, it’s possible they’re just doing an uprising sort of thing, forgetting their animosity towards each other to attack the one responsible for their containment
And I doubt Dhuum would have the power to ‘control’ an ED
If the six are supposed to be on par with the dragons, then one single god wouldn’t be able to overpower one single dragon
they’re at max one gold on the market, so they’ll be pretty cheap in the future when everyone’s got alts
One for each character
I haven’t gotten one yet, but I assume it’s not soulbound since in GW1 we had the same basic prize for beating campaigns and people sold those
So TP or trade over weapons
whispers is more political imo
priory has more ancient knowledge and whatnot, whereas the orders is set up to have ‘resources’, but really they just know how to influence things
that’s what I was talking about o.o
So, if you go to the event page on the main site, it now mentions something along the lines of ‘will Thorn appear 500 years after his death day?’
It was confirmed that Mellaggan and Melandru are the same, so Quaggan could possibly just be saying ’she’s dead’ because they aren’t receiving any signs from Melandru, just like humans are doubtful of the prescence of the gods
They did implement that (the personality part, just not really important).
Giving you choices of story quests is also part of how you shape your character. One of the cooler ones imo is the ‘fears’ portion, where you do a quest chain pending on your biggest fear in life. That’s a big part of your character I’d say
I don’t really get what you’re wanting to show either >.<
I think they mentioned adding new bosses…

Why are you standing still so much that it annoys you…
That’s a better question
And also, my example was a sylvari female, so maybe that’s why I didn’t notice it
I’m so sorry Anet that you have to deal with these people -_-
primordial means ancient…
that’s a better translation
monthly is eating a lot of candycorn it seems
so if you can buy a lot, then that’s set
oh, my bad
you must have been mentioning the priory quest where you get him to help with claw island
yeah, he makes a cameo in orr (as do a lot of npcs from the claw island arc)
I understand how you felt during the mission. It was rather awkward at the end…
As to why Gorr and Tonn aren’t the same, if you killed Torr/Gonn, then who would be the specialist that dissects the eye?
Well, you’ll be glad to know that it doesn’t matter what you choose, your biography questions during character creation stop after the level 19 mission
yep, humans are seemingly more numerous in the whispers specifically, possibly because of its origins in Elona
So…you’ve made multiple characters doing the sister story, and don’t know that it ends after level 19?
Ok.
Also, how is the Unknown Parent story cliche?

i looked at my friend’s sylvari, and it didn’t really look off to the side like all yours are
her head absentmindedly turned and looked around every once in a while, but it wasn’t stuck like you all seem to think it is
Basically, your race isn’t accounted for after you join an order. By then, you’re funneled into order specific dialogues, so they probably just gave the voice actors the same scripts instead of race specific ones per order, so 6 dialogue options instead of 30 (male/female times order vs male/female times race times order)
not sure if everyone’s been reading the posts by Jeff, but I have enough faith in Anet that they’ll fix the loot, so just bide your time
Only another week at the earliest we’ll be seeing any sort of improved token system or w/e they have planned.
The reasoning is that people don’t like the nighttime or something, it’s a bit stale and in real life we don’t have half/half day and night (for the majority of the year)
memser and warrior are the default classes for rulers in tyria, imo
I think Salma was also a mesmer, and I don’t recall her using her powers to regain her throne, rather having the shining blade and player character do the work for the most part
and @Bruno, that’s what I was trying to say. if she’s manipulating and killing her enemies, that’ll just create more
if she mind controlled caudecus, that would be suspicious that a known (if only subtely, and not outspoken) opponent to Jennah suddenly gave up fighting her or whatnot
Well, I’d have to say Primordus as the big bad makes the most sense. If Jormag, based on its influence and reach, is the supposedly the strongest, it just doesn’t feel like the most evil/dangerous. I think it’s the next one to go (or Kralk, they’re interchangeable). DSD has potential to be the final one, just because of the mystery around it, but it feels more like the second to last.
Primordus as the last just fits the trope much more, fire being the main element of villains, representing the ferocity and untamed nature. And while some people think that because it’s the first to rise, it’s ‘leading’ others, I think the first to rise is more important because it’s the strongest to break its slumber. It could be that it was the first to sleep way back when, thus slept just as long as the other dragons…
And since we fought the Great Destroyer in GW1, it just feels even more that we’re being set up to have this ongoing struggle with it, and is the ‘evil mastermind’ of sorts.
yeah, maybe someone tried it before you, or i think it’s a timed thing, she says you’ll forget the guy’s name if you wait too long
that’s what I was doing yeah
obviously you can’t do this with other races
most likely, you have to both be on the same story step, which could feasibly be an order quest, racial sympathy, anything in reality
you light the candle, kneel in front of the statue, and the ghost appears, telling you the name
then you go and interact with saul’s tomb, and a ‘kill veteran ghost’ event appears basically
no sooner than 11 hours from now
So you’re saying the connection to Tyria is a magically based one, and that the dragons’ consumption is disrupting that connection?
I don’t know, the gods left Tyria back in NF, when Kormir ascended (or at least they were starting to leave), and the first dragon activity at all was 3 years later with the Great Destroyer.
I think their disappearance is just coincidence, since they weren’t around last time the dragons were about (by like 10k years, correct me if i’m wrong), so they wouldn’t necessarily know about them
T1 and T2 weapons aren’t unique skins, they’re found on other weapons in game (asura and sylvari T1 are the same skin I think)
greatsword is one of the cultural weapons i believe
Well, if she did use her powers, wouldn’t that make people afraid of her? If she’s going around manipulating everyone and destroying their minds or w/e, then it’s almost a totalitarian rule, and the common people would become afraid of their once benevolent queen.
Well, Lady Althea died before the Foefire, so she wouldn’t be a ghost…
Other than the fact she’s the daughter of Barradin and Fiance of Rurik, she didn’t have much to do in-game
I know you can party with other players and help them with their personal story missions, but does it transfer to your character also? Example: A guildie and I are both on ‘Battle of Fort Trinity’. The wiki ambiguously states ‘Other players can help with another player’s story but are not able to make choices which affect the outcome, though they can choose to accept the outcome as their own’
With this in mind, it sounds like if we were to join an instance, we would have the same follow up mission. Just wondering if that’s the case, because if it’s not then there’s even less of a reason to team up with other players for these kinds of things
^this
back in GW1 they were all pretty grey, but they were also new to the surface
250 years gave them a bit of a tan
Is your personal story character and your open world character different? [spoilers]
Posted by: Mystic Starfish.2586
of course it’s the same character
for the most part however, the dialogues of npcs in the overworld are based on a certain moment in your personal story
I think you’re trying to insinuate the commander title that you get when you establish the pact…
Yeah, I want to read it so bad!
Figured if I actually beat my personal story it’ll let me read it, but I haven’t gotten around to it :/
Norn are meat puppets
Did I say that o.o
Sylvari are partially to do with the blue vines around Pact outposts

A story review from a GW1 Vet: Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the journey
Posted by: Mystic Starfish.2586
I can’t tell, but did you read the book? I feel like they were epic in that, and it sort of explains how they all fell apart and are sulky and whatnot. And the dungeons also shed some light in the reparations.
Even looking back at GW1, the main heroes (Mhenlo/Devona/Aidan/Eve/Cynn), we do pretty much all that they do too.
What’s your reasoning for that?
Anton’s ghost is by the battle pit in Gendarran Fields (in the snowy part east of Vigil Keep)
Most of the storywise-important heroes in GW1 have some sort of shoutout, but no real descendants other than Logan and I think Jora has one
So I just looked at the timeline, and (not sure if someone mentioned this) it only says that the Ascalonian gargoyles disappeared. Probably an error, but this could change some theories, since that doesn’t explain the Krytan ones
I agree with Asgard, if that’s all the book says, then it could just be a book about centaur stuff. We know Thorn was trying to make a centaur treaty, but humans have been fighting them for like…ever.
We had a discussion last night about Thorn, and the concensus seems to be that he was around in 830-850 somewhere, if you look at Palawa Joko based dates
And as a last reminder, 500 years is an approximation, just as the ‘250 years after GW1’ is an approximation
What professions make sense for sylvari? Can they be necromancers, elementalists, guardians, etc.

Trahearne, a Firstborn
Spoilers will ensue if you search him up though
I’ve got both (asura war and charr guard)
Warrior has more weapons to choose from, and to me feels like it has more surivivability than the guardian, when it should be opposite. Of course, that’s probably a gameplay problem on my part.
Warrior is more about pure damage and Guardian is support/burning
