wrong forum, yeah
But I think Piken Square and…Tarnished Coast?
I know Piken is, not sure about the other server
So far, two books. The third one is due next year, but no real date yet. Ghosts of Ascalon is the first one written, but happens after Edge of Destiny
Queen Jennah and the Vigil and Smodur the Unfliching all got together and were like ‘We need to stop fighting and focus on the dragon’. So, with the help of the Vigil, the Claw of Kahn-Ur was retrieved and given to Smodur/the Charr, as a peace symbol from the humans. This whole thing is explained much better in the book (Ghosts of Ascalon)
Krytan fun time!
I’d rather have Jormag be a pay-for expansion. Not all dragons maybe, but it just seems weird to give a whole nother dragon for free. Then again, it could be a way to ‘make up’ for Zhaitan’s lameness
But, for why I said Kryta, we could get a whole load of stuff on the White Mantle, Isgarren/Garrenhoff, Fort Vandal, maybe even some Maguuma/Woodland Cascades stuff. I blame Konig for my newfound want for WM stuff
Edit: As I’m reading the interview, he mentions “And actually, in February, we’re going to do a whole bunch of expansions on top of that world vs world area, to make that experience even more uniquely Guild Wars. But that’s something where we took a lot of inspiration from a previous game, and take that and then build on it and make it something even more”
Not really lore related, but more WvW updates will be cool, and could take up some of the largeness of the content.

No
Match them up for us
^The tomb isn’t marked, so have fun clicking the wall looking for it
And random thought, Razah could possibly in some way be the Colossus, couldn’t it? I don’t remember a lot about his/its story, but I think it took the form of a humanesque being because that’s what was familiar. Perhaps it took the form of the Colossus, because evil chanters were trying to harness his mistness.
Don’t the Luminaries/Wardens provide the governing structure? If not them, they have the Pale Tree
I hate to be that guy, but there’s a thriving thread on Dhuum and his future possiblities already
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lore/Dhuum-fight/first#content
A really roundabout connection, but Khilbron was a servant of Abaddon, who had Titan servants, which were tasked to kill Mursaat. So whatever connection Abaddon had with the Mursaat was most likely the connection with the Titans and Khilbron
Other dragon minions are fought in the racial sympathy steps (unless you chose Hylek). I somewhat see what you’re saying, but they went with a more ‘this dragon is your enemy’ rather than ‘this dragon is scary’. It kills a LOT of NPC’s that you grow attached to (or are supposed to). Instead of just mindlessly killing an army of vigil nobodies, it kills your order mentor and high ranking pact officials.
Yeah, most high priests in orr spew nonsense. In the Grenth cathedral story step, his priest yammers on about how the dragon is his new master and whatnot. Most priests just say their god is gone/less powerful compared to Zhaitan
Shouldn’t affect you putting it in the forge, but wouldn’t carry over I’d think. All you’re doing is making it so you have agony resistance
Gullik does show up, I saw him once.
But for Kranxx, I think there’s no real memorial because only the people who went on the mission know of his deeds. I think Dougal doesn’t like talking about it, so he probably didn’t spread the word. Not many people know exactly what happened on the mission, and the survivors are hesitant to speak of events. There’s probably a secret memorial only known to them
But, this is Lore Forums…any spoiler will be broken
Anyway, yeah, there’s a spot in I think Blazeridge or Iron Marches, top left corner, where there’s a makeshift grave. The norn in the book also stops by some times, and you can talk to him a little.
I think Ember Doomforge is somewhere in game also, just can’t remember where I saw her
Seems to be a bug
I’ve done that mission twice now and both times haven’t gotten stuck on sinking the ships. DId you try attacking the left ship first? I work left to right, don’t know if that affects anything
Like I said, it’s obviously only possible in a paid expansion. They can clean the zones if they wanted to that way, like with Orr.
And in the Catacombs, when Eir talks about giving the sword to Logan, she’s just saying it’s a peace offering thing to make him want to regroup. Logan isn’t a descendant of Doric (that we know of, I’ll admit). Since Rytlock has one, if Logan had the other, then it would be a kind of truce between them, since Logan’s whole thing is taking both swords back to the human hands. So if he had one of them, they could come to some middle ground
Or Jennah, but Wade would be the more interesting approach.
But yes, in an expansion this is definitely going to be one of the things expanded upon besides dragon killing
Could it have anything to do with the guy from GoA? I don’t remember specifics but he was an asura in Ebonhawke, perhaps his krewe decided to take over his lab space or something
Just a note, when I want to update Darksteel Ingots and Lumps of Primordium, any numbers i input are reflected on both. I have a full stack of lumps, but only 1 ingot, and if I update the stack, it’ll say I have stack of Darksteel also
Checked it out on a whim, since I usually just write down my to-do lists on some notepad. But my first thought when I discovered how detailed the stuff is was ‘Dude…this is awesome!’
I hope Anet posts about this site so more traffic can come your way
I think it’s rare or higher at lvl 76 or higher
4 level 76 rares will be less likely than 4 level 80 exotics
But, it’s all just a minute chance
Lore forums there’s a discussion about how there’s a lack of variety in NPC humans. The title is like ‘Lack of diversity in Divinity’s Reach’. I haven’t been keeping up with it, but for an immediate suggestion, perhaps the years have muddled the gene pool? Since Kryta is now the main human stronghold in pretty much any continent we’ve seen, it has Canthans, Elonians, and Tyrians, all mixed into each other. So the skin tones and whatnot will most likely have all flattened into similar ones.
Giganticus Lupicus could be the 6th. As for why it should be six against six and whatnot, I think the reason the player character asks only 5 is because in the present age, there are at least 10 races fighting the dragons, and it might seem off that only 5 races back then were fighting. And even so, say there is a 6th ancient race that fought the six dragons, what’s the point? They still lost, so this numbers game is pretty pointless
Pretty sure it’s six dragons
The Priory scholar literally lists out the 5 ancient races that fought the six dragons
The asura whispers rep is actually one of the lucky ones that returns late game. So does the sylvari vigl rep. But yeah, I love Forgal to death, but it would be cool to see the initial order reps at least once after level 30. Even though they’re stationed more for their race than their order, it would still be nice to see them doing something when say Claw Island is going on, and all hands are on deck
the race’s main city
the Grove, i think top or middle floor has them
they show up on the map as swords, but are labelled karma vendors or something
I could see Kurzick, but tbh that whole place feels like an isolated island almost. Nothing screams Canthan to me, or any other place we’ve been in.
I haven’t played that one fully, but is it very off to suggest it’s part of the searing?
She knows about pirate version of LA though
So it’s some time between remaking of LA and birth of Sylvari
…
I’ll just comment on your first part, there are three tiers of ‘cultural’ weapons
But as with all other races, only the third tier is unique. Unless you’re talking about the shared T1/2 with asura, but that still doesn’t make since with a missing tier
The ‘unidentified fractal’ is obviously some sort of ‘possible’ future for Rata Sum. I think the reason why Dessa is freaked out is less because of a personal connection, but more because it would be shocking to see your home in an apocalyptic landscape. Of course, my comment has no real merit since I haven’t completed this one
Why would 10 people with tech be weaker than one ancient race?
As we learn through the story, teamwork can accomplish anything. The ancient races tried to fight the dragons, but I think it was said that Glint eventually hid them to preserve their knowledge, while the dragons ravaged the earth.
And I don’t think we were ever told that ‘new’ dragons rose, although it’s true that some of the ones we’re fighting are new. We don’t really know much about their creation, where they came from, how they decide to come back.
Technically 3, since Vizu had to disarm him or w/e
I was gonna say Talon was a great swordsman, but he’s Canthan also :/
I feel like most characters are more of great leaders than great fighters, and as the player character we have the distinction of being the best fighters in the land
I just want to clear up, the sixth supposed dragon is a nature themed one, not aquatic. The aquatic one is ‘known’, in that the quaggan/largos talk about it sometimes. But the clues for the nature dragon are mainly from the Infinity Coil in Mount Maelstrom.
Like Danikat said, finding lore in game sometimes is more of observing surroundings and inferring, rather than having stuff outright explained. For the 6th dragon, you can look at Infinty coil, notice there are six ‘zones’, and that 5 of them relate to the five dragons (there’s a red zone with destroyers, black zone with risen, etc). The sixth is green, and only has a skill point, and inside the CoE dungeon there are some TA mobs running around, amongst other dragon minions.
So it’s much more subtle than I think you are looking for
tengu are supposed to be asian inspired
but, i forget what the larger point of this topic is >.>
oh yeah, pop culture references
It’s true, they made this game more in itself referencing, since it has a whole 6 years of a previous game to go off of. But in that game, there was a much more comedic take on characters, so some of that seeps into GW2. I think when they say they want to leave out pop culture references, they mean things like Kilroy Stonekin (Leeroy Jenkins), and stuff of that nature.
1325 AE
Present day during Guild Wars 2.
1324 AE
Dougal Keane enters the crypts beneath Divinity’s Reach. Truce negotiations between the charr and humans begin.
1320 AE
Kralkatorrik, the Elder Crystal Dragon, awakens. Creation of the Dragonbrand. Breaking of Destiny’s Edge. Founding of the Vigil.
1319 AE
Eir Stegalkin forms a band of heroes known as Destiny’s Edge.
So, about 6 years, like I thought
Yeah, I remember talking about this at launch. It might have something to do on the shore by fort marriner? Or like ^ said, the asura gate thing is good
Yep, it’s in Arah explorable mode
Yeah, this is a big problem. I feel really horrible every time I DC, because it’s not my intention to the group. It makes me feel like I’m being this horrible person to the team, who has to start over or suck it up, and I’m just left with nothing :/
Crazy Syvari is named Owain, I think. Her eyes are bugged out, and she doesn’t seem to know what Tyria is.
There’s pretty much no doubt this update is DSD related
However, I very highly doubt any bit of it will reveal/make aware the prescence to in-game characters. Only the aquatic races know of DSD, and to land dwellers there’s just a sudden influx of Karka. So while we obviously can tell that DSD is doing some stuff, the in game characters are probably confused as heck as to why the Karka appeared now
I haven’t been there in a while, but are they charr or humans?
If they’re charr, then they’re just gladium. That area is supposed to be their base basically
That awkward moment when I’m a guy and play 3/5 female characters >.>
It is your civil duty to update the wiki page now
But seriously, congratulations!
I noticed a lot of Ascalonian looking maps. There was definitely some sort of Sorrow’s Furnace looking map, and one of them reminded me strangely of the ‘Isle of the Dead’ guild hall loading screen from GW1 >.>
And the giant chained guy…Closest I’ve ever felt to a greek titan XD
I still fail to see any of your babble
In a somewhat related note, they were going to add Chronomancers as a class in GW1, but eventually turned to making GW2.
On topic, if you really can’t stand time travel or w/e in this game, then just don’t do this one dungeon. I’m really tired of everyone complaining about every little detail about this update. Ascended gear? Well I might as well just quit now since my exotic armor sucks by 1 stat. Infusion? I don’t want to have to get new armor just because of one mechanic. Time travel? This just completely takes me out of the fantasy world
Sheesh >.<
Besides the fact that it makes no sense a dragon would be a one time event, it is too early for us to be fighting the DSD
A champion, sure. I’m pretty sure somewhere they said the one time event would be killing the ‘ancient karka’, so it could be a champion if they are related to DSD
I’m sorry if I’m bringing up a point from someone else, but look at the sPvP maps. Those are basically fractals of the mists also. We fight in the Battle of Khylo, a moment in time, and yet it still happens the way it does. Why should a PvE dungeon be any different
General discussion?
But, I think it’s possible they’ll do some major overhauls for profession fixes, since this is going to be THE update for November
Arah Forgotten Path
I would explain, but you seem to not want it spoiled
