A story review from a GW1 Vet: Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the journey

I agree with the Trahearne thing. He’s got a similar ‘thunder stealing’ as Kormir, who ascends to Godhood while we just take out Abaddon. So it’s not like it’s anything new to the GW universe to be the ‘side’ character.
My biggest complaint about Trahearne is his strange voice >.>
named armors are exotics, and come in sets, but all look the same to their respective weight class of course
I think Yakkington’s is the heavy version, there’s also like Devona and Rurik, other GW1 armors
Would be cool, but I think you’re making this into an action/adventure storyline ending
While it would be cool to fight your mentor, I feel like there’s no place besides the end to put that fight, and the end is already fine as is imo
I’m actually disappointed they fixed my headgear to hide the ears. Here he is with ears clipping through headgear:
And without the ears:
I feel like the ears added a lot to my characters appearance. Without them the sides of my head feel barren and empty. Now if I want them back I need to hide my headgear.
Instead of fixing the armor to make the ears ‘not clip through’ it should be fixed so that there are slots for the ears to fit through. Why would asura want their ears to be folded up inside a helm in the most uncomfortable position? More pieces of gear need to be like the cultural armor where there is special accommodation for the ears to stick out.
Pretty much sums up my feelings.
Yeah, most info is from NPC dialogue, you just have to find them
You seem to have trouble keeping it all in, based on your initial post, but that just takes time. Browsing the wiki(s) can be of help, you’ll eventually remember things
All Dwarves were forced to undergo the rite of the Great Dwarf, even Stone Summit and Ogden
I haven’t really encountered Ogden outside of Arah Explorable, but he doesn’t seem changed in mind, so it’s possible other dwarves aren’t crazed fighting the destroyers, and are hiding somewhere
Kinda related, but what about the prescense of Rata Pten?
Your ears look like they’re going upward, as opposed to outwards and down
I think it’s less the helm and more your odd ear shape.
I dont’ really keep track of our boosts, but I’ve gotten 6 iron ores from normal iron nodes on multiple occasions
What stories are you talking about exactly?
Some times, yes, the ai sucks
But the order mentors are actually some of the best npcs to have. Tybalt can tank some damage, even if he is an engineer
And having officially done all three versions of Claw Island, I can with certainty say that Forgal’s was the best death. Tybalt I could see as sad, with his whole not being courageous problem, but it didn’t have the defiance that Forgal had. And Sieran kinda just was like ’I’m gonna die now, huh? Well, that sucks’
I feel like this one is extremely difficult compared to others. I wouldn’t mind so much if it was labelled a group event, but it just appears to be another run of the mill one. Basically, you’re supposed to destroy 6 tanks that power up some Quaggan capturing device. The problem is, there are like literally 50 Inquest in the same vicinity. And before you talk about scaling, there were at max like 5 guys there, and they left after two seconds. I’ve also tried doing this one solo, but there were still the same amount of Inquest, which just swarm you before you can do anything.
End rant
I heard that it’s an hour and fifteen minutes day, 45 minutes night
I hope this is the right place/I’m not stepping on another thread.
This is also speculation/questioning about after the end of the game, so be warned.
Anyway, Trahearne gets to purge Orr of the undead, we kill Zhaitan, yippee. Now what? Will the Pact stay together to fight the other dragons? This is the obvious plan, but what’s Trahearne’s part in all this now? The way I saw it, he was really only in it to cleanse Orr, and now that his Wyld Hunt is done, he doesn’t have as much motivation to fight the others and lead the Pact. Of course, Sylvari are compelled to fight the Dragons, but I just think that now that all his Necromancy and Wyld Hunt stuff is over and done with, he won’t have much to contribute to fighting the other dragons.
Anyone else feel this way, or am I just wanting to get rid of him
I’m all for sacrificing Trahearne, wouldn’t really cause any sort of emotional response other than joy though :-P
Yes please.
Also, Forgal was my first mentor, and so far the most profound death. I get goosebumps whenever I think of his lines “I am Forgal, son of Kern. My father was the last dolyak Shaman. I will never bow” yada yada
As for the reason why Kellach has risen following him everywhere, in the Charr storyline we find out an Asura has some necromancy necklaces that she’s handing out to everyone, which seem to attract Orrians. There was an option of two places to find one of them (both might be in the shiverpeaks, the one I did was with a norn)
Yeah, this is a dynamic event, so that forum would be better
Most things in game refer to events as having occurred 250 years after GW1, so…
As someone else stated, it’s probably just they’re a rather pointless/loreless race, so they were removed. As for an ingame reason, could be expansion of more powerful races in general (for those complaining the charr aren’t in kryta, there are centaurs and humans waging wars over there)
Yeah, Anet is definitely pulling our heart strings with them. But, I really don’t care, I love them so much. Whenever I finish an event with them, I rez every last villager >.<
And while they’re far from likely to be playable (I could see an april fool’s joke where everyone’s turned into a quaggan), I’d still make one
@konig, from what little references to the Mursaat in GW2, it sounds like they’re more frightened of the Elder Dragons than anything, and thus wouldn’t really care about killing the queen and what not. I’d think they’d be more intent on hiding like they did last time
Yeah, my warrior doesn’t show his ears with a helm. Kinda makes me sad, so I go no helm all the time :/
if they could add ear-compatibility that would be the greatest thing ever (i realize cultural armors take this into account)
I don’t remember that priestess to ever mention Malchor.
