By, ’it’s the mechanic’ of the class, that means it’s the f1-f4 skills
So, imagine how effective a mesmer is without using shatters, or engineer without using overdrives on turrets. As a main ranger, I just hide my pet when i want to run. Even if you do get hit, it’s not like you’ll die while running from two mobs chasing you. And, pets kind of do double your damage (at least, that’s been the case with mine. I can do like 400 with an axe, but my pet does 800 with a peck)
^the main point is, BoH shows they are actually doing stuff in WvW. Anyone can go and pay rl money for 100 gold in gems, and buy a commander icon (because that’s all they want, a thing on the map to look special)
They could even introduce some other token if they really wanted, somehow related to WvW, if BoH aren’t good enough for some reason
I think it’s a year
That gives more time for the orders/pact stuff, but racial stuff I’d say is maybe 1-3 months.
I know there’s the magic of WP’s, but consider you have to trek to far off places back to the main city during the first 30 levels.
nice!
as a fellow fem charr guard, I like it
Do you color? Would add some more epic to the already stunning drawing
Giant one is the one I’m most annoyed about. There’sonly a handful, and usually related to events, so that’ll be a fun time
I think it’s really subjective, we all have a different favorite, and probably is our first order? Mine was Vigil, and Forgal’s death I actually almost cried. His speech was epic and it totally fit in character. Tybalt’s was alright, he kind of morosely accepted his fate, while Sieran was just like “oh darn, guess I gotta die, huh?” OP’s suggestion is pretty good, it would totally fit more if she sent the PC away under the guise of something else, and she turns around and holds them off
Interesting, I just looked at individual weapons, and for some reason I kept referring to ele and necro as the reference >.<
Your battlemonk just looked a lot like the warrior at first glance, double mace/axe/sword.
It’s not too horrible, and after time, you get used to it. However, if it’s just as simple as putting the destination name on the mini/overworld maps, like they did for map completion per zone, then I say might as well. It doesn’t hurt, only helps
XD
yeah, thanks for pointing out the date
@falunel, I’ve already got a plethora of other characters, and lore isn’t really what I’m going for. I’m just looking at asthetics mostly.
@urthona, I noticed the skimpy light armors. I’ve got a human ele and norn necro, I was actually trying to cover up my norn, and that’s a task in itself.
I like the battlemonk, sandwraith, and shadow knight ones the most. I can see a nimble heavy class like the battlemonk, although the biggest issue i have with it is amount of weapon choices, but thats for most of your creations.
Shadow knight, given a bit of polishing, could probably be viable for the game. The mechanic of getting stronger as you get closer to dying is an awesome thought process, almost like a barbarian or berserker type class. (I only skimmed the posts, but I think you could even lighten up on the mechanics of this one, just giving maybe more defense/attack rather than a whole new mode/skill to enter into).
Sandwraith interests me, because I could also see this working in-game. But, lore-wise, it is a pretty big elephant in the room.
Interesting
Yeah, I was just wondering why they didn’t do anything on these ones…
can you point me to where you read this?
I’m VERY skeptical on any new professions/races/game changing stuff, other than new story stuff. But, if it’s got validity, then thank yoU!
You get my vote. It’ll get those elitists to spend their money on something different than annoying me miles away. There’s a counter-argument to say you can grind the JP’s (i made well over half my badges for the gift from the JP), but at least it shows you were in wvw.
Basically, every man for himself. It’s weird to think about, but in-game, you’re pretty self-sufficient (except in dungeons, obviously). In those cases, it’s a five man army against everything. Whereas other games you just sit there and deal damage/heal, you have to actually dodge and think when you’re playing this one, because of the lack of traditional roles. But, there are people who still insist on forcing it (banner support wars, guardian healers)
Hi all, yesterday I bought a sixth slot and now I really want to spend more money to get the last two. If someone can talk me out of spending 30 gold for two more characters, that would be awesome.
But, since that probably won’t happen, I’d like some help deciding race/profession combos. I need memser and engineer, and have narrowed it down to charr, asura, and sylvari. I don’t really like medium charr armor, and have a ranger sylvari, so the engi will probably be asura (unless convinced otherwise). I’m leaning towards sylvari mes, but I really want another charr also >.<
Other possibly helpful info: creations would be female asura/sylvari, or male charr. If someone has a really good reasoning, I might even name them after you
Any help is appreciated, I’m at a complete loss for what to do
wvw is a blend of pvp and pve. Pvp because you play against others, there are rankings, all that good stuff. But it has pve elements like npc mobs, gatherings, it has the option to not face other players. Of course, people will still kill others that are minding their own business, for whatever reason
Basically. It’s the last human stronghold that side of the shiverpeaks
I think it does work. I’ve only got 50%, but dungeon runs I find I get more cores/lodestones than without, on average of course
1. Depends on your server, of course, but most are full/high population limits. Zone-wise, the early zones are usually fuller than mid, and the last zones are pretty populated again. Just depends where you are, but I’d suggest finding a guild you like, so you can at least talk with others there.
2. I’m not into pvp, but from what I’ve heard, it’s dying, because of only one type of pvp right now. They’re working on more play types, though, and wvw is always going strong.
3. TBh, that’s something to decide for yourself. It also depends what you want to know about. Story wise, it’s pretty unanimous that the beginning is pretty good, but around level 30 ish it gets somewhat bad, and declines from there. But I thought it was alright.
4. Endgame, can be surprisingly fun. It’s a lot of grind (only real endgame is ascended items or legendaries, and money is really what makes these possible), but if you just do a variety of stuff, you won’t get bored
^only 40 silver for a 400 craft
But yeah, the recipes are account bound, or can be made account bound when they’re a more specific item, so it doesn’t matter which of your characters is maxed out
False, Logan has T3 armor, so he’s automatically worth more.
(I don’t like Logan as much as the next guy, but money is money)
When people mention the lack of customisation options we could have for the Kodan, I only really see a problem with fur colour. You could have plenty of customisation for their faces, body type, eyes and noses, etc.
And even with fur colour… look at the Asura! If they had been left out as a playable race, we’d be counting them out because there’s not enough customisation options for a race that are all just gray.
But they’re varying shades of gray…maybe even 50!
Bad joke, but still, white fur is white fur, asura can be an off shade of tan all the way to black
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Orrian_Centaur_concept_art.jpg
concept art is concept art, not truth. Although stuff like this would be alright in my book…especially when I just stumbled upon ‘DE in the Jade Sea’
I run axe/axe on war
Gs on war just doesnt float with me. I do use gs on guard though, unfortunately. Don’t have mesmer, but ranger gs isn’t horrible, just not great
That would be interesting, but would probably go against everything the developers have done to make the 8 XD
And it would be somewhat easier imo to just make another new profession instead of doing a skill tree split type thing
Basically, each guild has its own influence count per the servers that members are in. Example, a guild’s main server can have like 3000 influence, from the 6/10 members that are on that server. But the other 4 are on another server, so they have accrued 1200 influence on that one. The influence is seperate for whichever servers the guild members are on. Not sure about upgrades, however.
interesting…this is one of the few sites which are probably going to be a dungeon in the future, so with the additions of asura gates, even more possibilities are opened up.
Waukesha(ish), smaller town near there. Currently in Appleton going to school, though
This is so cool, I know that people are from all over, but it’s fun seeing that some of them are right next door, even
Engineer = Ritualist, mechanics wise
As much as I hate to admit it, there probably won’t be new professions, ever. One that I think could work is a Soldier class that behaves as an agile fighter like the Adventurers, but it would be easier to just add different weapon choices for existing classes as is.
I think the instance is bugged too, because I went in on my level 11 and Scholar Inkblood, Mira, and a Whispers agent were chilling there already.
This was mentioned in a different way somewhere else. The sylvari seem to have this thing of being off center. Their head tilts to the side, and doesn’t match straight up with their body alignment, but I think this is male only. The bow thing I’ve started to see recently, though I’m not sure if I’m seeing what you are. My character will hold the bow at a diagonal instead of straight up/down or horizontal. But I don’t really see why this bothers you, if that’s the case
It’s also safe. You’ll notice some sylvari npcs in all corners of the world, each saying something like ‘I love adventuring’. That’s true, and you’re right that they are inquisitive and should be going around being nomadic. But some of them are kind of afraid of the world, since one of the firstborn was tortured by Inquest, and another died in Orr. Bad stuff invades the Dream also, so that affects them just as much as their desire to explore for themselves
should, did it a week or so ago, and no patch notes related to this were stated
You guys know there is already a thread for Trahearne hate under ‘Personal Story’?
Don’t bring your problems over here >.<
Well…it’s concept art…
Straits of Devastation reminds me of limbo from Inception, but other than that, I don’t really think much of it.
Hoelbrak I think the only thing weird is the construction in the background, I think there’s a crane?
I think he was just saying that they would either have to make it so it makes sense that Tengu can play through the orders/racial sympathy/orr stuff and killing zhaitan even though they weren’t there, or just not let Tengu players be able to play that storyline
cough cough this is how stereotypes in the real world turn violent cough cough
The way you’re describing the flame legion treating females is pretty much how antagonism in real life is. I don’t like this person, so I don’t like everyone likethem
The fact that they’re the closest thing to a playable race hasn’t changed, but this particular npc doesn’t seem to be pointing towards them being playable
He’s just a guy who is a pvp vendor, and the content for that is apparently not available
Warden is the best imo, preview sucks for it, but the glassy look of parts usually made of steel is awesome
Verdant is way too bright for my eyes, and it gets annoying because I see norn and charr running around with the rifle all the time
Nightmare is just…I understand the look, but it’s not my thing.
Could be the stuff going on in Citadel of Flame
They are making charr into gods, ressurrecting them, imbuing searing crystal effigy things, they’re just up to lots of bad things
There’s a little bit of knowledge I gleaned from the lore forums about harpies, it’s thought they just mate with any male they can get. Since there are no male harpies, that we see at least, they are either locked up/killed, or don’t exist. Also, Asura tend to be very inventive and probably keep trying to make weird things that attract the local harpies.
So mainly just coincidence, i’ve only ever seen that one in Iron Marches with the pheromones
I think it was just centaurs
I took the doctor line as just a bit of humor >.>
The crystals are purple, so they do look similar
Searing Cauldrons are from Orr, there’s a storyline quest way late in the game that talks about it, so not Kralkatorrik
For the Sons, it’s like wiki says, Norn don’t really view a whole group as good or bad, it’s based on ‘are you right now trying to kill us?’.
As for the Inquest, they are technically a krewe, so they are probably given a spot in Rata Sum to recruit. I’m not very knowledged in politics, but perhaps the fact that an Inquest member has made its way to the top in the Arcane Council, they’re given some sort of sanction in Rata Sum.
it’s not letting me transmute it to the white
does the one who is in the order have to be the same armor class as the one who will eventually get it?
edit: the trans stone just needed a bit of tinkering before it accepted the procedure
(edited by Mystic Starfish.2586)
Edge of Destiny names the Mesmer like Curuniel said, so it might name the others there. It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but I feel like Guardian=Logan was referenced in there
this makes me happy
i’ve been stalking his commissions thread for a while, so gratz for you for returning the favor
I think they never really changed the dwarf endangerment category. I believe the phrasing was ‘they are all but extinct’. Seeing as they were turned to stone, and they couldn’t reproduce, that technically means they are dead. But since they are also stone, they could technically live forever, as shown by Ogden.
I think it’s exponential in growth.
There’s an asuran storyline that deals with skritt if you choose statics, and they delve into the hive mind of skritt a bit
