Yea i meant to put ft in my utl instead of bomb i fixed it im thinking elixer and tool kit? How does tool kit give survivability boons? ~new to engi~ Also i wanted automated for condi cause i have very little cleanse and for the firearms its kinda essential for might more rifle damage more condi damage and more crit no? I dont see anywhere else i could get benifits like firearms while running a ft/rifle build lol

1. How good is invigorating speed with speedy kits?
2. Runes? I like flame legion obviously cause the 7% dmg and power. But what about hoelbrak or str? Not sure which would be best. With hoelbrak thatd be -55% condi dur.
3 sigils? I have no clue i felt acc is a staple to reach the 50% crit
4. Other two utilities?

why isnt this kit good? im using full celestial right now and it seems to do alot of damage and has a stomp secure also. the tool belt skill hits for 1.5k for 3 shots so if they fully tick its 4.5k im really new to engi i have had one but this is the last of my 8 chars i lvled to80

Np i find it amazing for me. When you channel 2 dont rotate the camera with the mouse and move because if the target runs behind you, it will break the channel if u dont follow him. Compared to standing still, where you will automatically follow the target even if he runs behind you. When you auto jst try to stay at 600 range. For me i consider it my more defensive weapon for i use bloodlust on them and sigil of energy.

Your best friend against thieves and mesmers are aoe abilities such as your WoD i really dont see how you live with staff i just think marks in general are not great but we have few choices. When i fight thieves and mesmers, if they stealth i would whip out axe/d and use 3 for retaliation and then 5 for weakness. I usually drop 5 right on top of me. After this i would switch to d/wh use 5 for more aoe and if im low i would use 4 to interrupt and if im not i would auto attack till they reappear.

As for stomping the best way to secure a stomp is foot in the grave but i dont even use that. If you need to interrupt ressers you can use ds 3 and if you use wh you should stop stomping Interrupt the resser and do aoe damage. The only class u want to stomp immidately is rangers due to the pet heal. You can also use plague stomp to secure a kill

Two things

: dont jump off the base in the beggining, it causes you to go into combat making you a bit slower.

: you should try axe/d and d/k*ttenason? Axe dagger for when you need some range and defence. You have the oh dagger for condi clear and weakness while being at range. Throw an energy sigil and youll get a dodge too.

Reason why d/wh is my preffered is because dagger requires you to be on top of the enemy. The ape from swarm cripples and deals decent damage while gaining LF. Plus you have an inteurpt for things like staff guard or any other important skills they could cast

Lol sorry if it seems mean but if you dont swap out utlities you need to be guided to a basic tutorial to understand why you need to. Also to explain the low dps compared to the usual dungeon necro is cause i usually pug and i end up having to tank many bosses due to 174836 thieves and lb rangers

Hello this is my dungeon/ wvw roaming build. i do change out the sigil of blood lust and some traits when i do dungeons.

in DS this build has 97% crit chance with dagger out and 98% critc chance with axe. this build is for might/ vuln creating a huge deficit between the two increasing my attacks greatly.

in wvw with 25 stacks of bloodlust and 25 stacks of might i am sitting on 3.5k pow while maintaining 3k armor and 19k hp… add the vuln stacks which i can easily sustain 15-20 stacks by myself.

Yep its a pretty simple build. it focuses on buffing with might and debuffing with vuln. its fun sitting on 25 stacks of might and giving the dungeon boss have 25 stacks of vuln.

In dungeons i usually run biP for easy might and sometimes i use it in wvw too

Thanks. I like the traits better but im not so sure about armor changes/ trinks. I like the high tough and it seems in yours you lose avout 300 tough for about 100 pow and you lose 7% crit chance. So my big problem im having is weapons.. I def want a gs for dps, but what about secondary? Im really like hammer and sword/t and sword/f how well are they in a wvw setting

First one looks okay on paper. Not sure how practical it is but u could try it out. Second one you might as well jst go with the celestial meta. It hhas more damage and more tank then this one

I play ele exclusivly with staff. When i roam i use full knights armor and a berzerker ammy and the other trinkets are the hybrid berzerk mixed with some vit.

I woul say yes for mesmer and ele and no for necro. Necros are supposedly more damaging over time and scholar runes are great for up front burst. Id use pack because they give both power and prec and has good boons and gives swift dur which both necro and eles love

this is a healing/vuln builld with some decent damage. you wont get kicked out of dungeons with this.

traits:

Fire:
V- there is nothing better to get in this line for a healing type build unless you want a cantrip build in that case you can use spell slinger to stack might.
VI- to boost damage in fire attune.
XII- boost damage as time goes on.

Air:

VI- boost damage to bosses mainly

Water:

II- great with arcane power. gives 15 stacks of vuln in total. and arcane wave gives aoe vuln also.
VI- Punishes stupid AI good damage booster
XIII- for healing….

Utilities/ Heal:

Heal:
Obviously one would take AB for the blast finisher.

Utilities:

AW- for blast finishing heals might etc.

AP- ensures crits and gives vuln.

FB- for damage

Other utilites:

Fire axe- great for might buff and can be used for leap/ blast finishes

Cantrips- if you decided to go cantrips which are mainly defensive you would need might on cantrip in the fire trait line.

Gear:

Staff- because its the best at healing

Sigils- renewal for teh healz and acc for a decent damage output.

Armor- the mix of magi for armor and clerics for trinks gives:
Healing
Tough
Vit
Prec
Pow

This mix would be the best for maximizing PVE style gameplay for your “healer/damge-er”

Runes:

Runes of Alt will give you more healing power and might/fury on using a heal skill which if you use as a finsher will give even more buffs.

food/oil is for prec stat to boost damage.

i did too… full healer build in gw2 is utterly useless in pve. its all about buffing if your an ele and giving conjures. i had a “healer” in a high lvl fracs once on swamp. we kicked him first mossman. did absolutly no damage and we had good self healing. its pointless except if your in teq maybe. thats it. it would be smarter to go for a necro siphon build if you want pve healer. theres a great tutorial on youtube.

you are better off going with either a staff might stack or a s/f might build for pve then going for healer. you will be more valued by your teammates

okay well i dont see much damage in the offensive set. also it would help to see the traits. for the offensive, you only have 1.9k pow and 150% crit which is base and 16% crit chance. that build is more tanky then offensive. id take out a lot of toughness and put it in to maybe POW, PREC, HEAL POW, you already have innate heal power and health, so boosting the heal power more would be ideal while increasing power and your crit chance. this of course i am jsut basing off stats and the way it seems like yu want to play is a bit more tanky then normal.

If you want to feel useful in zergs id either go GC meteor… which is boring imo or you can go healer support which isnt as useful but still helps. only problem is yu dont have much damage.

I’ve been dabbling into staff as well lately, and my build is remarkably similar to yours. I assume you want to take this build into WvW.

Bloodlust/battle/energy are the big 3 sigils for WvW staffing imo. Neither force nor accuracy come close in the damage they can provide. If you have warriors to provide you with vigor and/or have some decent vigor uptime from soothing disruption, go battle over energy.

Also:
- Blasting staff is indispensable. Final shielding is pretty bad overall tbh. Very unreliable.
- Air training doesn’t do much since your damage will likely not be concentrated in the air attunement. I’ve found soothing winds to work rather well (who would have thought)
- I don’t get the signet of air. Sure it’s a short cd stunbreak but staff is not continuously in the fray, so doesn’t benefit from its short cd whatsoever. Having that 6 seconds of powerplay when you do get focused from armor of earth is far better imo. A single stunbreak can’t save you from being focused the way armor can (think hammertrain).
- My build uses double >90 percent modifier to abuse the time we get to free cast. This is mainly because I run with some shout warriors to keep me topped off when hitting retal. It’s preference however and pack runes are by no means bad.

i dont zerg. 90% hp mods are a waste when roaming with staff. esp when thieves will jump you from 1500 +range. most of my damage actually does come from air esp when chaining lightning rod. i use sig for blind more then the breaker for backstabs and evis and other heavy hitting attacks. im not looking for build advice just sigil. my build is how i like it and it works for me. also final shielding saves me alot esp when i use arcane shield instead of LF i get to block 6 attacks and if they are melee they will be hit with damage when it breaks. it surprises many people because not that many people use it and blocking 3 attacks from thief/ mesmer/ ele can be game changing

Solo roaming staff is terrible, but good luck. Small scale staff is still not great, but what I said does apply to it.

I think I’d go battle/bloodlust. With 25 stacks of Bloodlust, Lightning Rod will be devastating.

So i have an unbound lord dorics ascended ring in my bank, and when i go to right click on it to deposit to the new collection… my game crashes and gives me an error that says gw2 unable to move unbound collection or something along those lines.

Poison wouldnprob be the opposte of healing like -.02% healing plus damage. Aegis i think would give % chance to block and should be reomved on hit.. I like this idea hetter then the current system hut it would take alot of time to rebalance every single class skill becauae some of them migh be to strong or weak
