I was messing around with runes and sigils. If you use vampirism runes with sigil of leeching, and you use your heal to get the “next attack steals hp” from the runes, and then if you switch weapons, you will not get the sigil leeching effect. is this intended or a bug? im guessing they share the same exact leeching proc..

i feel thieves have mroe potential then just to do one burst on one opponent and then die. i understand that you want full burst and then thats it, which if thats 100% what u want then u have it, but most thieves need versatility for different situations. i can guarantee that burst will not 1 shot many builds such as ham war or some boon guards. this can be fixed by dropping one venom for a stun break. more people would be open to it. Ik alot of people including myself would not touch a build without at least 1 reliable stun break.

preloading all venoms only gives one proc of leeching venom. read leeching venom closer.

siphoned damage. build stil hits for 1-2k non crit while doing condi damage as well. i deal both physical and condi damage. i actullay down more ppl with raw dmg then the condi
edit: if you try using it you woll notice decent numbers from just physical damage, especially if you switch to s/p ik normal s/p burst does alot but for a hybrid build 3-4k is pretty good per pistol whip

i disagree imo thief can do hyrbid stuff well, jst not like this. i posted a build a few days ago of a life siphon build i use.i focus on how it has very high life stealing but it has great mixed damage. the siphoning gives extra physical damage while i use venoms for the condis its mainly a condi build but it does pretty good dmg considering its a condi.
plus not a lot of ppl realize that not only does life siphoning give you hp, but it also does physical damage which scales with power, so if it scales with power and the siphons are on venoms that makes those very good for hybrids. plus the sigil of leeching deals a fixed amt of 974 damage, only down side is this one does not scale with power. venoms traited with siphon can be usedd amazingly as a hybrid try it out some.
So if you use leeching sig plus venom thats already 1.4k physical damage not including your auto attack and the venoms effects AND not including a crit, and then you get hp back from it too.

I think people dont like the abilties they steal a lot of thieves want it for the shadow step and not the ability gained. personally i dont mind them, anything can help in a fight, i do how ever wish we could discard the ability i we choose not to use it.
Yea i run 2/0/6/0/6 i get 2k hp and poison every 19 secs plus a daze plus a gap closer worth it for my build

The reason i use rabid and not carrions is because healing is better with toughness because you get more ehp and my build melts people really quick even with pistol whip i mwlt you can even attach a venom to the pistol whip for more healing. Its great ive done a bunch of 2v1s n stuff jst dont pop all the venoms at once and dont use mug until you need to heal up.

So obviously the main point of this build is to steal the enemies health, this build kinda builds itself if you only think about life steal.
the healing is great, the weakness to this build is mass cc or condi builds. this build ahs very little condi remove and low hp so yea..
healing:
sigil of blood- 483 hp
sigil of leeching- 975 hp
heal sig- 115 hp
activated venom of choice- 385 hp
= 1,958 hp on one hit
full healing:
Previous healing- 1,958
Spider venom(-1 from previous, so 4 stacks)- 1,540 + 460 (healing sig)
Skale venom- 1,155 + 345(healing sig)
Basilisk venom- 770 + 230 (healing sig)
total hits-10 pistol shots
Steal- 2,160
=8,618 hp in total
This is without more sigil of blood procs or weapon swapping procs =]
Also a little combo i found to be good is:
-start in s/p, use #2, quickly swap,
-c&d, pop ult, ( ult gives bleed poison torment in aoe)
-use p/d #3, then fire awayyyy.
like i said its not a meta breaking build and i use it for funnn =]

is there any reason why we dont have conditions on the combat log? or maybe even a separate combat log for conditions? it be really nice to have…
a condi spec where you throw up three illusions and let them bleed is pretty good, add “on clone death” effects, makes them deal damage no matter what. i prefer to stay away frmo shatter if im going to play PU. you can easily summon clones while in stealth and let them deal condi dmg. the damage isnt great but it can be overwhelming if done correctly. I dont have much experince with power PU, but frmo what ive seen, you can either go a phanta build where u sit in stealth and let phantas deal dmg or do a burst s/x shatter build. PU is really not op it has its draw backs, its really easy to use and easy for beginners to play and its also IMO the best spec to play agaisnt newer players. GL!
its only op vs new players. it makes it very hard to target the real mesmer. its easy to play with low risk high reward. If you want op play a hidden phanta build =]
Its part of a dynamic combat system, meaning it has multiple aspects. positioning condition, active dodge, interrupts, stealth, mobility, way better then marcoing imo. its l2p. thieves jst got a huge nerf along with every other zerker class. ive had no problems post patch with thieves unless it was a p/d condi.
I rather see gain x amt of health on interupt than gain healing power
To be honest, I think the new traits are only marginally off the mark. Their concept is all-around solid, and they set interesting examples what all traits should be like (for example, Bountiful Disillusionment rewards diversification in shatters).
I challenge you to say that the concept behind disrupters sustainment is solid without laughing.
Disruptor sustain would be good if duration and amt was increased i use a interupt build that has perma regen and then i use ether sig so the healing would be amazing. As is now? Bad only increases my healing by like 300 or so per sec. Ideas are good jst a little short of on par tho. Currently i use furious interuption on my condi build -_- reason being i dont like CI and PU doesnt fit my build and neither does distortion on kill

theres a reason why they arent nerfing PU…. its really not as good as everyone hypes it up to be. if you run pu in wvw then it will take you years to cross the map lol as said before not great dmg and bad in pvp a pu mesmer is jst like a mosquito buzzing in your ear really
PU in pvp is a joke i usually kill 70% of the pu mesmers i face unless its a phanta zerker one. PU is not a big deal it has its down sides too. your damage is only average if the enemy is dumb enough to keep hacking at the clones. no mobility. only upside is good DOT, its very forgiving and its very defensive. I dont recall wvw groups or pvp or pve groups lf a PU mesmer. its usually a glamor mes boon ripper or just a utility mes. oh the re targeting is a drag tho. jst carry a good amt of condi remove and ur fine

I recently switched to null field and its usually good enough or so i feel it is for condi removal i need. not really sure waht to switch to. i use to use decoy or blink instead of null so my condi remove was only on my weapons/ heal. any suggestions? i get a good amount of might usually 15-20 stacks with interrupts so no str sigil.. any good combos ?
decoy does not give any of those only with pu
theres no reason to trait in to power. if this was a hybrid id understand, but your power is really low. the two minors do not help at all. i think youd be better off traiting in illusions to get illusions skills cdrr
well you said they heal on shatter AND procs aegis protection/ regen and stealths which means they have to have 0/0/30/30/0 at minimum. at which case they should have no burst jst huge survivability and cleanse.
Also you can tell alot by looking under the health bar. if you see signets its usually a boon/ condi build. you can also see the mantras they are using. if it has 3 stacks that means its a mantra heavy build, and most likely they are using runes that give “on heal” effects.
Assuming it is a PU build, if it is condi you need to watch the confusion stacks. either clear them or use blocks heals kite until they drop cause they will hurt bad.
Boon stripping mesmers are usually power shatter builds so if this is one build you are talking about then its most likely a tanky one that uses condis to widdle down the enemy?
can you pls specify if you are talking about 1 build or different ones

so re readig the title…. lol if u want a condi build with clear then 30 in to inspiration is great. maybe even 30 in to illusions but that means u cant get i.e…
also note that all of the traits, even minors play a role in the build.. except illusions first minor. also lyssa is still viable for condi cleanse jst use it sparingly since it only grants boons based on the amt of condis

the problem i see with this build is that its to far spread. you have damage on interrupt you have on clone death traits, shatter traits and a manipulation trait and one mantra trait. usually using one trait for one utility is not ideal. id narrow your focus more. if you want good condi clear, you might want to look in to a glamor build, esp since you want to pvp. id keep portal for mobility and then maybe get the other two glamorous, null field and reflective. id maybe go phanta glamor.
i put this toegther quick its a point holder. try to keep phanta/ illusions up for the ether sig, also stay near the warlock phanta for perma regen. also you can switch ut staff for s/p. the dueilst has good burst and so does sword.

It would be fun but rng is rng. It would be good as an addition to a build, say a minor traitor adept usually rng isnt good cause its random but if set imwith the right circumstances rng can be good. I like it. This made me think of what if we could literallyclone the enemy and depending on the class and weapon it would auto attack the enemy, maybe an elite that doesnt count towards the illusion limit and expires after a min or 2
xD I see, the 20% increased time in bleeds would be nice it is also very cheap. Wonder if this would increase the ability to stack more bleeds.
But would Rune of the Undead give more damage since it would give convert toughness to condition damage.
Yes undead is better for straight condi dmg but i use krait for bleeds and poison. Helpful agaisnt healers. Plus i run a condi bleed build soooo… And i usually get between 8-14 stacks of bleeds in a fight
Well going in to illusions gove confusion on shatter then the new 30 gices torment, so every shatter will give torment and confusion just from one tree. Going in to phanta can give perma vigor which culd help too

I do see validity in Bountiful Disillusionment for alternate shatter builds, not everyone likes running PU, which is yes, a very powerful trait indeed, but requires you to be in stealth to reap the rewards, there isn’t anything wrong with that it is just I see PU as a defensive boon supply with defensive boons and BD as an offensive boon supply with offensive boons. Pdefender may offer retal but doesn’t sit well in a shatter build and requires you to place points in inspiration. PU & BD are for two different playstyles in my opinion.
Just saying, using this trait for shatter damage isn’t good, and as long as IP is a trait it never will be good. Yeah I agree, they are different playstyles, but our defensive trait is much better than this offensive one. To be honest it would have been better if they had switched the Mind Wrack and CoF boons. Then it would have actually made sense and actually be a possible trait in a good boon sharing build. Even having fury on Mind Wrack would make the trait more desirable. I’m not completely dismissing it, but as it is now there are better options for us.

Sorry to say man but you’re wrong. It’s a 2 3/4 second immobilize with possibly 4 seconds of blind or 2 3/4 seconds of chill. It’s super good no matter how you look at it and people will have to blow significant cooldowns to get out of it which is always a win. Only thief and warrior with dogged march don’t have to do this, and thief doesn’t always have the option.

2 sec immo 2 sec chill. whats the point of a 2 sec chill if they are immobilized the same duration. its only a 1 sec cripple AFTER the immobilize. only decent thing is the blind. oh and if you interrupt with a stun its useless. sig of dom is 3 sec stun, pistol is 2 sec stun, which is the same duration of the immobilize and same duration of the chill.
Well like i said i use it for engages im not use to it cause i use to rune lyssa for escape: condi removal. I use a bunkerish non pu build in pvp and since fhey want objectives they will usually grt hit by the triple condi. Love the new runes.
I like how you didn’t even mention the inspiration trait lol. I’ve tried to think good thoughts about the new traits, but honestly the only good one is maim. Power block was good, when bugged, but as it is now I only see benefits for it if you interrupt the same person multiple times and not for interrupting multiple people. Also since it has almost 0 use against thieves you’re better off using CI.
I’ve said it already, but Bountiful Disillusionment is a lackluster trait. You can get more retaliation uptime using pDefender, more reliable regen from the inspiration master minor. Pretty much the only reason to use it is because it does give a decent amount of might, and pretty much our only source of fury. To which I say, there are better classes to do that so why not just give defensive boons instead? We are easily one of the best in protection/aegis uptime so using PU to boon share seems like a much better idea. Some people like to run sub – optimal builds though so I can see how BD can still appeal.
I’m not trying to be negative, I’m being realistic. I’m mostly a pvper and there is no room for impractical builds there if you want to win. So can the traits be useful? In certain situations yes. That doesn’t make them good though.
Ci suck too jat not as bad 1 sec imm+ 1 sec chill or blind is laughable. I use BD in a boon share build run the sig that copies boons to allies with lyssa runes or might runes its fun

jst tried them bunch. they work amazing. ony class its meh agaisnt is necro. I run pistol off hand and staff so when i go invis, they get torment bleed poison, then i use duelist and warlock and with bleed on crits for illusions…. it wrecks. not to mention the confusion some of them take from swinging wrecklessly at clones.but its a perfect combo, it has poison which is good for reducing healing and torment when either they stand still or take lots of dog along with bleed. only thing i dont know is the radius of it. il test it tomorrow to find out
Well i have a bleeding build so the bleed on hit and duration helps i use the elite to either intiate or to warch for wen they remove my condis, ill pop ita to reapply its really fun

1: if hes condi he cannot 2 shot you unless you attack with confusion on.
2: if hes using condi clones use aoe to kill them all at once then cleanse.
5 sec of 1000 healing power worth? I run a condi inturupt so the other interupt skills are useless. Ci is only noteable one but i jst dont see a 1 sec immo and 1 sec chill/ blind to be worth. I tried out furios interuption and its okay i get phantas out faster or channel scep 3 but not the best. Alot pf classes are niches in to one build thats meta. Hundred blade war might stack ele and in pve theres no such thing as support really. Glamour build isnt bad for support, also mantra healer is decent too. But using a full mantra build with the stab and condi remove means your damage is pretty low. Id be something like x/6/x/4/x leaving you 4 pts to play around with never tried it but ive heRd its decent for supp
i have 3 clones 90% of the time. if they try to kill them then they die from confusion and bleeds. either way i win. i said both are viable. but yea thats saying ones “best” right?
