Hey, keep it friendly pal, the wiki page Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew on the food says the food gives 5 seconds might on dodge and I take their word over yours any day.
On swap sigils don’t work well, unless you’re happy to let the cooldown decide which weapon you use and if you go that route you might be better of with Sigil of Battle (there’s a limit to how much endurance you really need) for the might stacking. Permanent Vigor doesn’t exist, for thieves, and for the best vigor uptime in combination with you loose either the crit chance (for Sigil of Strength) or Hidden Assassin. Vigor is also completely redundant with the food we were talking about.
Without the food and relying on Hidden Assasin, Power of Inertia (with Feline Grace) and Sigils of Strength, the Runes of Strength net me about 12-16 stacks of might in practical use (might be some allied stcks in there btw). The food could get it to, I estimate, 18-20.
like i said before i got 15 on a dummy and thats without being hit. add that plus the dodging.
already have 4 mods. 10% while endurance isn’t full 10 % while int above 6. 20% ween enemy 50% hp and 5 % wen behind enemy. also force 5%.
Also str makes many other pow rumes useless. Why get 4% dmgand a dog frm ogre wen u get 7% + might stacks why get 10% only wen high hp wen u get 7% and might?

They don’t give might (the #4 isn’t that powerful), they amplify what is already available, thus they might look at that first. You won’t get 25 stack btw, not from thief, but 15 should be not problem.
With might on dodge and 25% boon duration from trait line + the 25% might duration from runes and constant switching you can get 25 stacks easy i got 15 alone just using sigils on dummies

I’m currently using frailty wurm and force. this compared to the standard might stacking str runes battle sig and might sig…. my current ones do about 1k (2k if fully sacked might), so theres really no reason to even run ANY other runes set other then might with str runes… maybe holbrek but thats it

Pve is easy with black powder spam or jst constant back stabs survivability is a big issue and is very hard to getting use to compared to a war or guard. We gain survivabilty by either stealth or constant dodging basically. Theres not really cycling unless its jst a one trick pony build most situations depends on wht your facing. At first most ppl spam moves because theres no cd but you need to learn to keep your inti pool up and ready to use
Ive been switching from wurm runes with sigil of force and frailty to str runes with battle and str sigils
Wurm: 19k hp hits around 2-3k autos
Str : 17k hp hits around 2-3k for about 8 secs until might stacks then it hits around 3-4k
i want other runes to be viable so bad im just so blinded by str right now. Any suggestions?? I love my wurm cause the hp and crit would switching to might sigils with wurm be better then force? Or matbe battle and force together?
Yea ive been watching alot of s/d thief videos and im so curious how they dodge every single attack and use infiltrators perfectly or flanking with the .5 delay lol
Whenever i use infiltrators on sword and flanking strike theres like a .5 sec delay before the skill starts.. jst me or what? its been like this since i got the game
Alot of gc thieves go 0/6/0/6/2 for modifers its like 27% dmg inc and 47% if enemy is below 50% hp
its not even changing the system its adding cd making initiative useless and only for modifiers
Off the top of my head if any change i guess they could make a chain system where thieves are rewarded the more they pressure enemies.. as in landing attacks will reduce cd or something but I’m fine with the system as is
if ur using d/p you can go stealth go behind the enemy, shadow shot with a quick auto and you should get a back stab off.

pve d/d or s/p pvp run what you like. s/d is my fav imo
Suppose my only initiative regrn is from the sig that shadow steps to your target and i didnt spec in to trickery to get more initiative. Being s/d is base initiative with base regen okay for fights or do i need more
use to only play d/d and didnt have to worry much about it.
One thing I wonder about Helseth’s spec is why halting strike? I’ve not seen any of the matches (where they recorded?) and I’d like to know if he gets enough interrupts to make up for loosing mental torment.
Interrupts oppp lol no they are really strong for any type of counter play. Vs hammer war ele ranger and my favorite d/p thief! I didnt tune in to the tourny but interupting can change the tides of battle, if you interupt an ele after they drop a water field they cant blast it. Try it out its fun and ppl get really annoyed. Only class it doesnt shine against is guard with the block heal

devonas rest is the server has a med population. we are in bronze league tho. at least we are at the top of bronze league. recurrently do not have enough people running wvw at different times to compete with the higher leagues but we are getting there, just as long as another guild doesn’t transfer off again
This build can take on mutilple opponents on pts. key to this build is never shatter. the only shatter you will use is distortion to invuln stomp. keep 3 illusions up to keep the heal sig up too, tdont use to many or to less illusions. Interupt key skills dependent on enemies class, interrupt ressers for free might. you can stand on pt with this build and hold your own. amulet is rabids for pvp. Need any help shoot me a msg or something i love helping with builds n what not
Edit: if you care about winning NEVER go PU in pvp unless you are roaming… in which case you will have no mobility. gl

“duel server” literally means nothing. find a real team that will take a PU mesmer in a real tourney. i will bet money NO ONE will take a PU mes. because they excel in 1v1 fights means they are op?

yea been testing it a little. on paper skelk seems good but with blocks blinds etc it blows

This is my build.
using skelk gives 4.3k heal+ 4040 from 4 autos, (1010 per auto) on a 45 sec cd so:
- 8.4k per 45 sec skelk will also deal 1400 damage in 4 autos, (350 dmg per)
withdraw gives 4.6k heal per 15 sec, soooo:
-13.8k hp in 45 sec
Nem is back. to my knowledge he is updating his build with video guides and a video going over the patch and then going on to eso i believe. his acc was rolled back to april 19th. so he only lost about half a month of progress t whatever he did.
retal helps but yea ik they dont need others, thats why i was straying from PU but PU does give good defensive while your phantas hamemr away
honestly jst use s/p power build with str runes and str sigil/ battle sigil. 10/30/0/0/30 This his the two initiative modifiers (10% dmg while above x intiative and 1% dmg per initiative and 20% dmg while enemy under 50% so thats at least 30% dmg increase
Soo i was bored and realized that your phantasm/ illusions can get boons.. so i wanted to make a might stacking build that shared the boons with phantas =p

Hi posted a few days ago with a p/d condi life stealing build. i switched it up because i was having trouble 1vx, so i changed it to an s/d power build
- POTENTIAL HEALING:
Skelk venom: 1010 × 4 auto= 4040 hp
Baskilisk venom = 325 hp
Skale venom = 325 × 5 auto= 1625 hp
Spider venom = 325 × 3 auto = 975 hp
Sigil of leeching = 975 hp
Sigil of blood = 453 hp
Mug =2100 hp
Omnom ghost= 325 Hp
=9843 hp
*This does not include multiple procs of sigil of blood (5 sec icd) or omnom(1 sec icd)
-One thing that can fk up your healing is dodges and blocks, a stack is still lost when they do either of these, or invuln too. this means no heal or no venom application =[[[
-you can basically chain heal with the proper amt of pressure and timing venoms correctly weapon swaping constantly….
-skelk venom 4 autos weapon switch-> spider venom 5 autos -> mug if needed-> skale venom 3 autos-> weapon swap-> bas venom 1 auto -> your mug should be close to up or your skelk.
-BIG DMG ONE HIT=
Venom of choice = 350 Dmg
Sigil of blood = 615 Dmg
Sigil of leeching = 974 Dmg
Auto attack= 679 Dmg
= 2618 Dmg non crit. Also Sigil of blood ignores armor you will see 4 diferent numbers if done correctly. these numbers do not show up in combat log so dont bother.
*This does not mean you will hit 2618 dmg, this number is based on tool tip which has a static toughness to put the numbers up, not sure what the tough is can’t remember. Most likely this will be near 1.7k-2k total. individual numbers will be different.
-Not only does it heal alot, it has good boon rip seeing how its s/d and a tad condi remove due to s/d #2 and shadow step and condi remove in stealth.
-Why venoms on power build? well using venoms in a power build gives good cc, including healing control due to spider venom. and more dmg due to skale torment/ vuln. one of these can be traded out for ice drake/ devour venom to have more cc.
When thinking about life siphoning the traits kind of fall in to place. Mug = siphon, venom siphon is needed, and then recharge on venoms which leaves you with 6 points to play with. personally i went the stealing route to get more healing and more utility out of steal. either this or you can get some stealth benefits and become stealthy siphon-er.
-NOTES:
- Do not ever stack venoms, stacking only procs one siphon and makes the others useless, other then the actual venom applications.
-quick starting combo….
Sword #2(for aggro combat) ->Sword #2 out-> weapon swap to second s/d set for leeching-> pop venom, usually bask b/c of cast time-> sword #2 in again-> sword #3-> sword 3 to rip->( if hurt a bit,) sword 2 out cast skelk venom-> precast sword 3 in to mug.
-try to always weapons swap when you can, free 975 hp and free 974 dmg every time you switch.( i fail to do this alot of times)
-Do not engage with mug, you are wasting a 2.1k heal. use sword 2 or even shadow step IN, if its a condi build you are facing you can shadow step back out to cure condi.
Only troubles i really have is condi necros that kite me spamming circles n what not and “on clone death” mesmer because of the sword cleave, oh and condi engi. fml

Also icd for rune is 15 sec and icd for sigil is 9 sec
