1. Implementing GvG ysing the guild halls as bases
2. Usefulness for smaller guilds
3. Access to guild halls can be given to guests who want to check out the guild( can only be done by high ranking officers, maybe like a 30 min buff that allows them to go in to the guild hall.

What if there is a portal that then prompts a list of of guild halls with a search function and if that person is in the guild or had been given the buff they msy enter that guild hall

Edit: during gvg the guild halls will be used as bases with terrain in between and what ever gets destroyed of your hall has to be replaced with full costs

ever since i started playing ele staff ive used arcane wave in every build. i cant get away from it for some reason.. how valuable is it to us compared to arcane shield or any other good ones… lightning flash etc.

oh and i mainly command in wvw or if im not doin that im roaming

The synergy with One With Air and Fresh Air is cool. Especially for scepter to keep some distance. utilities are mainly defensive because the lack of defense….

Hello, ive been seeing many threads about OP this OP that, pertaining to rangers and previously theives and hambow wars etc.

I get a feeling that many players may not know what over powered means because the term is used so often, and in many cases where the person using the term is wrong about their accusations, this could be because this game has three main “game modes”:
Pve
Pvp
Wvw

Being extremely strong in ONE situation against ONE build does not make a class or build op.

Example:

Burst ele vs terror-mancer. Most burst eles have very little condi remove. This does not mean terror-mancers are op. It simply means that the terror-mancer counters the ele.

Now pit that same terror-mancer to a stability warrior. Obviously the outcome will be different given the skill level of each player is the same. Since the necro spent many of his traits in to damage on fear or even duration runes, much of his power is negated by the stability.

A more recent example and a hot topic: rangers
LB ranger vs d/p thief

*Note that these examples are under the assumption that each player is at the same skill lvl.

So the LB excels at ranged damage. And very high burst. A d/p thief is amazing at sticking to their target. The thief can apply many blinds to the ranger and use shadow shot to stick right on the enemy. The outcome could go either way, but the thief should win if they dodge properly and use black powder to its fullest.

So these are some examples of non op-ness. So lets look at op now.

The old hambow war:
This build was incredibly powerful.
Hambows use the hammer traits to dominate their oppenent.
In wvw:
They were unstoppable with -%40 condi duration. Now they do not have great movespeed, but if you get in range of the hambow war you will get cc chained.

1v1 duels?
The majority of the other classes and builds have a very tough time handling one hambow war, and i bet. That if you put in the ring a hambow war with the same skill lvl as his opponent, he will win.

Pvp:
Not only were the hambow warriors hard hitting. They can take a beating. Most of them ran sigs which made them tougher and passively regen hp. They can easily take opponents on points.

Overpowered is a term to be used when a build or class dominates in multiple aspects of the game and the majority of the time. This is a rare occurrence and usually happens as the games are being released, and it eventually gets balanced.

This thread is not to say anyone is OP, but it is to say you need to give valid points on why you think a particular build is op.

Your using two utility skills to chain together a meer 10 sec invuln. Judt kite and wait it out. You have 50 secs when he has both of those down, leaving one utility a heal and an elite.

It can be a specific build, in which case link the build itself, or it can be general, like spectral builds.

And non-meta builds are just fine, it lets us bring up why they aren’t meta.

Overview:

This build i use is for WvW commanding and Dungeons. The main point of this build is to be able to last in big fights while commanding and while debuffing with vuln. this build relies a good amount on death shroud as it is our buffing and debuffing form. you can easily stay in DS for 10 secs at minimum

Pros:

-perm swiftness
-heavy might stacking.. can get 25 easily.
-heavy vuln stacking, can also get 25 easily.
-huge tank capabilities. 21k hp and 2.8k tough
- great condi remove

Con:

-Damage is average
- susceptible to condis in about 18 sec windows

Why Dungeons with this?

- my main reason is the vuln stacking. 25 stacks means 25% more damage on all physical attacks that you AND your allies do. so 25% more damage from 5 people….
-The utilities obviously change depending on the dungeon.

Cool. Im working till 2:30 est then ill be on. What times do yu usually gather? And the necro i use is a might stack/ vuln debugf power build. very tanky hits hard too. I also play staff ele i just might need some guidance because i dont main ele. My fav class is ranger and i can adapt to any class but i pref not warrior or guard.

it works everytime on frost field staff for me… havent had probs lately

they changed axe auto and dagger auto i can tell

The only thing I use out of those you mentioned was soul reaping lol dont use staff or minions and that ds change was a while back before i even played necro

With that said what in your opinion what would be better for this build? GS? or S/WH?

Things to note:
with 25 stacks of perception, i have 46% CR CH, and then with fury that bumps to 66% CR CH. also as you can see i have rage runes which adds duration and 5% dmg while under fury.

Im not seeing the dps in sword. ive been using it with warhorn because fury is important in my build, but when i have it out it jst doesnt seem as beneficial to me as the gs, because i can get fury on gs attacks when traited and deal 5% more dmg.

I thought sword has more survivability? With the leaps and evades compared to an auto evade and a 3 sec block and a leap

Ive used this a bit in wvw and seems to work fine. has good condi remove high tough and hp and i hit around 8k with LB#2. I only hit about 4-5k mauls tho =[

I use same traits diff runes and armor i have like 2.6k att 2.5k tough and 15k hp or somethin like that and 33% crit chance and 191% crit dmg or domethin

I like remove condi on hit :p the only real way to get condi remove is water 30 this wuld give us another reliable way

Wow, I love all the constructive feedback in here.

Considering the player is a veteran who knows enough to have 80 tomes gathered, I would say the feedback has been appropriate. In fact, anyone that thinks they can play any class appropriately through ‘buying’ their way to 80 isn’t going to get much guidance from players commenting on their builds … the barrier in this case isn’t any particular trait or gear. Playing is an integral part of the game for a reason.

You don’t need to lvl up your character all the way to lvl 80 in order to learn how to play it. Doing exploration and heart quests is pretty boring after 2 years being playing the game. And the way you play your class during the leveling can be very different from the way you will play in pvp or dungeons or wvw.

Like rangers for example, the most efficient way to lvl up is by going bearbow, but that setup is completely trash in other game modes, so the player needs to re-learn how to play if he wants to be decent in a dungeon for example.

Leveling is there just to make you waste time before you can reach the endgame.
