Useful ds combo

Hello folks i havent seen anyone bring this up or in videos so i thought id share tho im sure many people know its jst for thoughs who didnt know

When in ds you can use dark path, and get out of it and still teleport to an enemy.
So if you use dark path-> get out of ds-> cast focus 4. It is a fuarnteed nuke because you are closest to him so it will bounce to you and him with out fail.
Another one dark parh-> get out of ds-> warhorn 4 for insta inturupt

U can do this with wells to, to drop a well right at thier feet. Combine this with the chill on blind means u can catch the enemy in the middle of the well of darkness and chilled from dark path

Ele had the highest potential burst damage currently. Staff eles are to die for in wvw. Watch zoose on youtube, he takes on masses of ppl with his buddies. Condi is not the best on eles currently but can be done if needed. Its really preferance. Do you want the mage or a mecha dude with guns and turrets lol. One thing i will note it is hard ro get condi cleanse out of water magic. Yes we have a few utilities that remove but not many, we have one focus skill that removes and a trait in fire also. Imo 9/10 times im traiting at least 20 in water.

for weapons i usually do one cavaliers and one valks. i have never messed around with celes because its just not my thing for trinks i use the zerkk valk mix and soldiers armor. then again i go 2/6/2/4/0

playing as a furious interrupting mes its quite easy to kill thieves like wyrden said staff counters thieves great. 2 when they leap to you. you have chaos armor which can proc blinds and then chaos storm your self when they are pressuring you. i guess my build counters thieves lol

This significantly increases the power of our skills if they gain extra abilities.

exactly. they can do WHATEVER they want with them. they can make field of darkness spawn minions…. they can make blood is power pass to five allies… they can add stab to ANY ability they want and this will make up for the low stability. They can turn CPC to a massive ale like 1200 or whatever meteor show is for else to make up for our “aoe weakness”

also this allows use two uses of each skill. so for trade they can increase the CD but keep the CD separate from DS CD

What if they made all of the utility skills available in DS. Not only that…. What if they made each utility have a unique ability in DS.

Examples
Spectral armor. While in DS 1/5 of the damage done in DS heals your health.

Spectral walk: every time you are struck you gain 25% ms while spectral walk is active.

Spectral grasp: while in DS spectral grasp has 1500 range and weakens enemy for 5 1/2 secs

Spectral wall: in DS this wall refelcts projectiles

Well of power: boons converted have an added 4 sec duration.

Well of darkness: pulls up to 5 enemies 400 ranged toward the well.

… Just some ideas i jst thought that adding unique skills that only activate in DS makes our mechanic even more unique and gives us an extra 5 skills including the heal and elite.

Jst by looking at 0/4/0/4/6 your going to need alot of defensive stats seeing gow arcane gives no bonus stats. Id possibly try soldiers trinks zerk armor and knights weapon. You will be lacking in toughness i think. Cant check cus im at work :p

Or if u dont mind losing some dmage you can use knights armor and zerk weapons. Throw your build in gw2builder.com and try out the combinations above

Interesting build, but I’m kind of set on running 0/4/0/4/6 or 0/2/0/6/6 depedning. I was thinking of possibly going for a celestial set of armor? That takes a long time though so I was wondering what mix of armors would provide other useful stats. I don’t want pure dps, so I’m thinking of a maybe a mix of maybe soldier and zerk? I don’t really know about trinkets though. Ideas?

well as i said before it is very smart to come up with a trait set up first. reason being it gives you core stats and it shows you what you want the build to do. so for example, if you spec 6 in to air. you will have a base of 18% ish crit chance. ideal crit is around 30%-50%. so if you spec 6 in air you can either try to trait for a good amount of fury, and that will free up your armor/ trinket slots for more defensive specs, OR you can drop a few pieces of equipment with assassins to get a good boost, and proceed to get defensive equpment after, this will free up your traits so you don’t have to worry about furry.

if you want some survivability best way to go is 30 in water getting a little more bit from equipment while the rest focusing on power crit chance toughness and if you can mix in crit dmg

another note.. the equipment that holds high stat values are:(around the same)
1.weapons
1.chest piece
1.ammy

followed by rings
then armor

Saying that FGS ain’t op is a bit… like a thief saying that stealth ain’t easy to achieve.
Frost bow is pretty good to, like lightning hammer which hit like a truck.
This leave earthshield which mechanism are very cluncky and really need some love from the dev and fieryaxe that seem almost balanced except that it’s field ain’t affected by our traits (It would be good that dev look into that).

Overall they are “skills” combining them would just destroy themselves. How do I explain that… They are listed as “conjure” which mean combining them would destroy this category and it would leave 3 skills slot which would be needed to be “conjure” (for the sake of balance).

Beside right now you deal more or less damage/utilitie with conjures depending on your build and attunment.

I don’t think any change are really needed.

Bunker weapons you mean a weap like guardian’s staff? self buffing/cleave ?

DS is nice, but its not the same as a weapon set. We need hammer or some kind of true support/CC weapons, all of ours are super selfish without enough CC.

IMO and from my experiences i bunker as a necro by staying on the point and killing the enemy, not necessarily cc/supporting until an ally comes along. it works quite well and it catches most off guard because they are expecting me to not do any dmg and jet bunker away. also most my damage comes from attrition which is good seeing how being a bunker, my damage is mediocre until i get stacks on them or on myself

a/d is defensive while d/wh is offensive. alone i can get 20 -ISH stacks of might along with 25 stacks of vuln on the enemy. also using zero ammy instead of knights makes LB hit around 4-5k. on knights it hits around 3-3.5k ish. one last note, the tanking capability of zerk ammy is pretty decent because of the vit it gives you transfers to ds, i prefer knights tho.

its the power side of sigs. if you are truly wanting full sigs the keep the last one but if your willing to change id change it.

a lot of the sigs shine with boons… one gives duration the other gives random boons.
So i made a build to make sig shine.

Why domination? well it gives power and condi duration. why condi duration in a power build? it keeps soft condis on the enemy longer, (vuln soft cc) very good for staff.

Duelling gives you more crit and crit chance and acts as a clone generator.

I maxed chaos for boon duration, the rest just came with the build. bountiful disillusion gives a lot of boons.

boons:
-staff can give 7 secs of might on bounce.
-chaos storm gives 4 1/2 secs of boons per tick.
-cry of frustration gives 23 1/2 secs of 3 stacks of might
-3 stacks from sigil of battle, 20 secs
… just check out all the skills that give boons you have a lot with this build.
on top of that you can give allies around you all your boons.
you can give 9 stacks of might easily by weapon swap for sigil proc, cry of frustration- pop sig of illusions and cry of frustration again.

also this build can stack vuln like a boss.
start in staff. cast chaos storm to get 5 off the bat. switch to s/s and double cast 4 to get 5 more. use diversion followed by sig of illusion and diversion again for 25 stacks=p thats not including the ones you get from interrupting from domination 5.

edit: if you want wvw stats i can make that happen. i jst put zerker for a place holder basically

I use this to bunker. its a rare occasion to get killed. they often get confused on whether to kill clones or leave them. both are a mistake lel.

Edit: totally forgot about the other half of the build. its an interrupt condi build. if you look you have a lot of interrupts. 5 to be exact more then that if you include multiple chaos storm pulses. but yea you can build up a lot of might and other boons along with quickness. pretty dope yo.

also if you have a certain build in mind you need to work your armor around that build. if you choose armor preexisting before build you can end up with a lot of one stat which is good for some builds but not many.

Hiya all,
I was just wondering if any of you could help me with this FPS issue…..
I have a MacBook Pro 13-inch mid-2012 that I can’t upgrade for personal reasons, but here are my specs:

Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
Software OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

Should I be getting about 20fps in open world PvE on low-med graphics settings? (leaning more to the low side, stuff like animations and things set to med/high)

This may not be the greatest macbook pro out there, (obviously), but is this the fps I should be getting? If not, is there a way I can fix this without physically upgrading my laptop? Thank you for all your help in advance, and looking forward to your replies!

if you use the lowest of the low which makes the game kinda blurry you should get 25 ish. i usually chane the render sample to native and thats it

Hi so i thought it would be neat if conjured weapons have a secondary skill in place of the weapon while it is on cd. For example when you conjure a frost bow. The frost bow utlility skill becomes a healing wave or something with its own cd of course. Earth shield could be a defensive skill, maybe reomve condis. jst a neat thought i had.

Oh also make conjure earth shield a stun break and im sure it might be looked at more:))

3 and 1/2 secs feels like nothing. Even with 50% boon dur thats only 1 and 1/4 sec more making it 4 3/4 secs which isnt much esp for 50% boon dur

Never tried it.. anyone try it yet? don’t wanna spend 20 sp and 3 g for nothing

has perm swift and fury if you just spam all auras. if you space out auras 3 secs each, you get 19 secs of aura including shock aura, and an extra 5 if you can pull of the magnetic pull thru fire field combo.. thought it’d be neat with blinding every 5 secs

What about a non-condition damage necro build? Is that a thing? I assume axe on one set and dagger on the other, with either a warhorn and a dagger offhand somewhere.

So i have been trying to maximize my roaming/ small group potential with a staff going auras, not full healer. I’m stuck between a few different trait decisions.

Only diffence in these are traits and utilities i all mess with runes later.

Im leaning towards this:

6 in air for temp defense and ups my dmg cause crit goes way up.

I don’t want an aura sharing build because my main aura is frost and i blast most of it except the leap on fire axe.

Please don’t suggest other builds from auras and i would like to try to stay staff due to the veritily in wvw small groups/ zergs and solo roaming(ik not the best solo tool but yes it still works)

Nemesis build is a pve build that you recommended to someone looking for a hybrid build for pvp. I just don’t like when people give new players untested builds and try to say they are awesome. It’s my guess op was looki NH for proven builds that work in high level pvp. I made a signet necro for trolling and it “worked” doesn’t mean it’s a good build.

he solo roams with it. its okay ik your kitten because he did not reply to your build. ik my build “works” and its “good”

I dont play pve. Never did i say it was a pve build. I transfered my wvw build to pvp and tested it just to make sure it acts like it does in wvw. he asked for a build i gave it to him and he likes it plus it works. Bb now

Try it out you wont lose a 1v1

I would lose against my own build, and I know a few builds on other classes that would also have an edge over yours. I believe you when you say you’re winning a lot of duels, but the build just isn’t as good as it could be.

Reaper’s Protection is just too unreliable. The cooldown is too long, you miss out on a different trait and it usually procs when you don’t need it, or even worse: when it doesn’t do anything because your opponent has stability or other immunities against fear.

Traveller runes: stats are ok-ish at best. You’re basically missing out on a lot more stats for the extra movement speed, which imo is completely overrated for necros. You are slow, everyone else is faster than you and +25% isn’t going to fix that.
I posted earlier that I could get perma swiftness in pvp, but that is a positiv side effect of Pack runes, the stats and high fury uptime is why I really chose them. Swiftness never made a difference in combat for me. You can roam faster but that’s about it.

And yea didn’t mean literally but i tested in tpvp with some friends and during those matches i maybe lost 1 or 2 1v1s while at home.

And OP said it was a bit slow so i sped it up for him.

1 im not using vital precision 2 runes make this build mobile and really shine in gameplay. Boon dur condi dur and all stats is exactly what this build needs. Most the damage comes from physical attacks so undead dont fit to well. Try it out you wont lose a 1v1

also i changed a trait or two and sigils and runes. with this spec walk is 42 secs which is like 80% up time +runes 25% ms bonus with minimal loses
