If the only change to armor is ferocity then basically all other gear that does not use crit damage gains 10% more survivability indirectly

Please fix this bug. If you use dark armor and deadly str, the additional toughness STILL does not concert to power. An im guessing that new trait that gives 300 toughness in DS wont work either.

I’m really, really dissapointed by “Ferocity” change. Why?

It doesn’t nerf full-zerker builds. It nerfs ALL Power builds.

Shhh dont make anet nerf aoe condi. Sing targ is only bad if ur in a party with more then 3 condi specs. If im going condi i usually go more vuln might bleed build for even more effectiveness. I feel that having max stacks on a boss is good but makes sure you hit the ceiling and you are not wasting your moves because hes at max stacks

Rune changes
Every rune-set has been reworked and rebalanced, increasing the amount of viable options
A majority of the stats have being shifted to the later bonus slots to promote using a full set of runes rather than mix-match
No longer hidden differences between PvP/PvE.
Increased proc rates on runes to make them more reliable
We want there to be a rune set for pretty much every build.
Examples of rune changes. Superior Rune of the Monk will synergize well with the new Elementalist Grandmaster trait that also increase Outgoing heal effectiveness to allies.
Runes in PvP are now a single item (i.e. you can only use one rune now). One rune will have all six bonuses (basically no more mix-match)

I think the sixth bonus is just getting boosted in proc timing and less ICD they said basically they want the sigils and runes to be stronger and a more important aspect of the game. They showed some pictures in ready up and i dont think they are changing the basis jst the stats and procs. like lighting strike on crit has a lowe icd to match with flames aoe

Its not to make zerker more viable. its to tone down zerker to make other builds more viable. condis are fine if you know what you are doing. i run condi about 60% of the time in pvee including a vuln weakness build which keeps the mobs from hitting hard and helping my allies hit harder. Plus they are adding that trait that heals from condi dmg.

I usually keep around 40% to 52% crit chance for procs. 25-30 means only 1/4 of ur hits will crit. So 1/4 and say yoy have a rune that is a 60 % chance to proc. so thats 1/4 chance to crit and 3/5 OF 1/4 that you get the effect. So .25 × .60=.15 which is around 1/7 hits. So every 1/7 hits yoy should get the effect. Also the auto on staff and im guessing scepter are very slow. So combine that with the 1/7 odds is not a good idea.

Some tips:
- dont go full zerker. Yes full zerk is good but irs obviously squishy.
- dont go hybrid. Going hybrid spreads out our stas alot and you eventually have to sacrafice something whether it be condi defense or pow. Choose power or condi. My personal pref is pow. Reason being condi has caps. If ur in zergs or pve ull mostly hit hat cap.
- if power focus on 4 out these stats: vit,pow,tough, crit dmg, prec. Also i would go vi and tough mix, only if you use the Zeker mixed with valks to get some hp. Having both is good but dont try to max them while loosing dmg. Id look for shatter or phanta builds.
- use glamours. Glamours are sick for zergs and pve. Movs in pve can hit hard so refelct it back. Id pribably only use the reflect because the others are sutuational unles u spec for a condi heavy build.

This is for someone I met in Pvp This is a Pu boon/crit condi build I use for pvp and roaming Its called:

Weapons:

Staff:
because it has alot of clones and most of this builds damage comes from condis. Also learning to use your Chaos storm to interrupt is important. look for heals or moves with big give aways.

Sc/T:
Scepter because it has a block which goes along with the theme of this build of boons, and because it can create illusions. Torch is great for repositioning and confusing the enemy.

I took Halting strike because this build dabbles in the interrupt capabilities of a mesmer.

Crits are important because the illusions will deal bleed on crits, not only that, you also gain vigor on crits. Also with Retalitory shield you get retaliation on blocks which ties in with PU and all the other things that grant blocks.

Chaos I take PU for obvious reasons, if its not obvious, it goes along with blocks from aegis and invis. Bountiful interruption goes along with the interrupts and the boon side of this build. I use debilitating dissapation because most of the time ppl will kill the illusions thus granting more condis.

I put 10 in to illusions to get some confusion, to further more cripple the enemy.

Utiites:
I use decoy because it grants stealth and an illusion. very useful and its a stun break.
I use sig of domination for the extra passive condi dmg, but then if i need to intterupt or lock down an enemy ill activate the 3 sec stun.
I use sig of inspiration because it grants boons like crazy, also it is amazing in team fights.(lyss runes+ sig of insertion….)

Runes/Sigils:

For runes I use lyssa runes. Everything in lyss runes boosts this build even more, crit chance, condi duration, and boons. Sigils are up to you but these are the ones i choose.

Tips:
-Watch you HP and use your heal as much as you can. using your heal gives you a boon because of lyssa runes. if that boon is aegis, you can burn your aegis to get retaliations. if that boon is regen, then you also get protection (Chaos 15).

-Use you elite to engage. alot of people save their elites because they are elites. enaging with mass invis not only gives you positional advantage, it gives you alllllll boons(lyss runes)

- Stand still. once you get in the heat of battle, it can be very hard to find the true mesmer out of the illusions. if you see your opponent is lost or they are just spamming moves, dont move and auto attack. get some cd’s and keep applying condis.

- Invis trix. decoy is a very versitile tool. If you stand still and wait to finish an auto AND then pop decoy, they will think you are still standing there while you are invis walking around.

- Invis. When you go invis the best thing to do is get either to a position where LOS will help you, or simply run behind them about 600-900 range and start attacking. its advised that you pop some clones tho so when they turn around theres three of you and its that much harder to find you.

-Chaos armor. ONLY use this if the enemy knows where you are. if they are swinging at clones and you pop Chaos armor, you sir just put a big purply target around.

- Chaos field. most people know this but chaos storm is an ethereal field, phase retreat is a leap finish…… Chaos storm+ Phase retreat= Chaos armor.

-Shattering. This build is not about shattering. its about leaving your clones to do work. The one shatter you should 90% of the time NOT use is mind wreck. This is a condi build, mind wreck only does about 1k total.
.Cry of fustration should be used when an enemy does an attack that channels more then one attack. ex: hundred blade warrior. Pistol whip thief. Meteor shower Ele, flame thrower engi, zerk guards with GS.

Diversion can be used to interrupt enemies to grant more retaliation and what not. also pro tip- use it on enemies rezzing.

Distortion should be used when you heal is on cd and you are about 40% hp or less.

So i call these charge grandmaster traits. All revolve around generating charges by attacking in one attunement.

Fire nova:

Grants one fire charge per spell cast in the fire attuenment.

Fire charges grant 15 power every stack. Every ten sconds all fire charges are consumed and you deal 10 damage per fire charge in an aoe around you for 10 secs.

Damage interval:1 sec. ( can hit 100 damage 10 times, 1 per second.)
If at 10 stacks on explosion, you gain 10 stacks of might for 15 secs and fury for 10 secs.
Auto can only generate 1 sec every 3 secs.
Aoe range:300
Max stacks:10
Number of enemies 5
ICD: 20secs.
Note: this makes phoenix alot more vauluble if you hit three birds or only one.

Flash surge:

Using skills while in air attunment grant static charges. Each static charge grants 15 percision.
After 10 seconds the charges are consumed and you unleash a surge of electrical smiting enemies 1 time for every static charge.
Each smite deals 84 damage, 1-1/4 secs of weakness.
If you reach max stacks each smite grants 1 stack of vulnerability for 10 secs.

Smite interval. 3/4 sec.( 7 ish secs for 10 smites to go off)

Auto attack can only grant one charge every three seconds.
Aoe range:600
Number of enemies: 2

At the time of experation yoy knock back all enemies 300 range. Magnetic field duration is equal to .75 sec per repulsion charge. The explosion also deals 200 damage. Enemies cann not enter the magnetic field.

Aoe range: 450 from epicenter

every time you critically hit an enemy you gain a massive charge.

Ending notes:

Switching attunements will not void charges. You cannot gain charges while in other attunements unless you hav traited lingering attunement.

Conjure weapons can only gain charges to their repsective attuenment. ( yoy can be in another attuenment gaining charges with a conjure weapon.

Ex: in water attuenment with a fire axe conjure means you can gain stacks for fire nova)

Arcane utilities:
arcane utilities grant critcal charges.
you can gain stacks of critical mass in other attuenments if you use an arcane skill

Just theory craftin a little also this would give more use for lingering attunements and we would see more conjures to get stacks and arcanes. It kin of leaves out sigs glyphs and cantrips but cantrips alreay have good traits and sig is decent… Glyphs will be always useless lol

Are these two op? Cause damage can be scaled down n what not. But this lets ppl actually specialize in one element and can create alot of build variations.

Hey guys i tecently started my mes and i run a shatter pow build s/t sc/s.
So is keeping phantasms alive good? Or bad? Im kinda lost. Ill summon 2 phantas dodge roll for 3rd then i hesitate to shatter cause i have 2 phantas out. Is it all situational? Is it better to keep them out or jst shatter them?

This might be a little confusing but i have a few questions im rather new to mes.
1: if i have 3 illusions up and i pop another that means the first illusion summoned will disappear?

2: if i have 3 illusions and i use mind wreck, summon 3 more whil those others are still up, do the first three disappear? Or dothey use min wreck. Like can i use 3 illusions mind wreck then summon 3 more whil the others are up and then use another shatter?

And what happens if i have 3 up, ymuse mid wreck and then use another shatter while they are all up?.

Also youll always see complaints that eles need buffs and in som degree i do agree but i understand that it is hard to buff a class that ha four different skill sets at one time. The best thig they could do is maybe reduce cds and make missing a move less punishing. Buffs and nerfs come and go good players either re roll warrior or adapt and over come

Pvp meta: eles are bottom of the chain.
Learning rotations in pvp is crucial. Roles in meta are better down by other proffesions. If ur playing for fun i use s/d alot in pvp. Staff is okay and is good for holdin points. D/d will always be decent in any situation. The most common d/d build is 0/0/0/30/30 with 10 pts in x. Usually 10 in air or earth. If earth they usually take splinterd stones. If air usually thry take bolt to te heart. Im not saying eles are bad in pvp, there are other proffesions that do the roles better is all.

Wvw u can split in to smallgroup-roaming-zerginf. Most common in small group varies with group. Roaming ull usaully see d/d or s/d. Zerg, 90% of the time ull see staff.

Glass ele is not good as other glass proffesions. Imo i hate glass ele although a glass staff ele can hit 20k meteors with tornado which i think is getting nerfed soon.

Ele has a high skill cap just behind engi and right next to a GOOD non HS spamming thief. This is due because of the combos of the four attunements. If you learn to use a good rotation its hard to break away from it but not 1 rotation of attuenmets are good for all situations.

Common/ notable builds.

0/0/10/30/30 evasive arcane varient

S/d:
10/20/30/10 -burst

If he was using a sword it prob hit 5-6k if it was an axe it would have been around 8-10k even if he was condi. Maybe it was a hybrid build. And yea if wars spec deep for one thing they excel to good. Like counter condi. They have acess to everything. If i see a war with sig i dont even bother on my ele. Necros can tank them okay but if they have sig they will heal off the dmg ez. Condi necro is the best way to beat a war u have to wait for his invuln to stop. Try to keep him chilled immob or crippled and use lots o poison.

Bunker= PvP role is to Bunker capture points and hold as long as possible while back up arrives. Knockbacks, stuns interrupts etc.

Since there is no tank because of the aggro system, tanks just sacrifice high burst for massive survivability while sitting at low to medium damage, most of the time tanks will outlast their opponent doing good sustain dot either by pressure or condiis. war ham bow is tanky. yet the damage is good due to traits and stuff but the burst isn’t high.
