Are they chNging death magic up?? I run 30 in DM and i stop kids. I hoep they dont . Ps im not a mm so dont go raging.

All of which are not venoms and would not be effeceted by any venom trait.

i have condi removal in stealth. also i disagree. i play both thief/ necro and necros have no trade off. spectral has stun breaks, wells have stun breaks even minions, and signets. every build for necro CAN use a stun break if needed or wanted. its not even a choice for thief. venoms is the one of the few ability niche that does not have a breaker. on top of that thieves are super squishy even if you put point in to tough or vit.

So i was going to do a venom build but then i realized thres no stun break.. i think a venom stun breaker would help make these builds more viable. maybe have one that breaks stun and gives stealth? or breaks stun and dazes foe? i really wanted to do a venom build jst for fun but i cant troll without a stun breaker =[

It says it activates on crits.. is there a % chance that it will hit? cause wen i crit it doesnt not always apply.

Theres a glitch wher if you are traited for both dark armour and deadly strength, the toughness while channeling does not turn in to power while channeling. you can see the toughness jump up but the power does not. please fix! i want my 80 power!

helloooo im looking for a tpvp group. I play Thief necro mesmer in that order. i have been playing necro more lately though. i am on est time zone and my availability changes due to work ands school. i play daily. im pretty sure im r20 but il get back t u on that pm me for more =3

I main thief necrom mesmer. I have a diverse amt of exp with thief and then a moderate exp with necro fllowed by mesmer and engi. Hmu if interested.

also Oslaf jstu theory crafting but with all the siphoning going on in my orgi build, plus adding the new heal skill, i would think that clerics would at least heal 500 hp per sec with pressure on. the hp you get from the heal skill is around 350 or so and thats with out using any healing power. and if you really want a siphon build take 10 points from spite or death magic and put them in blood magic to get siphoning wells and change all skils to wells THEN youll jst have mass siphoning which on 3-4 enemies would be ridiculous for the time that it lasts lololol

Wen i use plague i always get poisons and burns and yes thieves are a prob to me but mesmers are a joke wen i fight them i use plaugue to keep the team clear of condi while i can jst cleanse it off its more of a tanky utility build that has medium damage

@ leeto i dont have enough time in my ay to even think about leaderboards. i have things to do like make money. and the stability comes from the well of power. and if you really want you can chain fear from ds to dagger 3 to keep the enemies friends from interrupts ive never had trouble stomping unless it was a big team fight. in team fights this builds roles innst stomping anyways. if they ignore this necro and focus other it can jst lay mass cc down and some good dmg. but if this necro gets focused then thats okay because its tanky as fk the point is to be annoying with fears stuns vuln cripples and jst overall pressure. theres no real role in a team fight because i ment for this to be a build that can solo 1vx and have at least some help in a team fight. if u think this build has no uti in a team fight then ur doing something wrong cause wen ever i go pvp with guildies and friends im always stuck playing this necro build cause they preffer it over condo or crit.

@leeto this build isnt only power vuln and might, for unskilled players this build id tanky as fk but with out skill you eill not put out damage as well as someone who is skilled im moderatly skilled and i can do decent in 1v2 and sometimes even 1v3, this buidl relies on skill and the reason dont dip in to reaping soul is because i dance in and out of DS sitting in ds is good for getting vuln and might, but raw dmg is not enough to down an opponent, i need the stuns inturupts and the life siphon. Its more about out lasting your opponent with all the tank and regen and this is a team and solo build i was looking for a mix between the two and this is where i fell without trying to go condi in a team fight this build would be used to charge the front lines and make the team blow their cds whike applying mass vuln

also i have yet to test a set of clerics on this im not sure it the healing power would scale enough to cover the loss of vit

@ Oslaf: Yes i love this build because it can not only 1vx but also it helps the team out. it might not be as much as a condi necro but it def helps. also why focus over horn. i feel the horn is so hard to part from after you use it. the cripple helps with mobility and the interrupt can be clutch if you time it correctly. and sorry i dont agree with the runes lol percision is useless in this build, i gave up all crit for tank and pow. i understand the condi dur jst the perc kills it. i feel that fighter runes are too vital giving both Tough and power. the toughness doubles as a power booster also but maybe if i wanted to have more uti for the team id change it to a wellomancer with those runes and those traits

@ Leeto its a bunker build with medium dps.. high dps if you stack vuln/ life blast for might. ive gone up against other bunkers and it wrecks.

@Axel i use 5 fighter because the Death magic 25 trait gives power baed on toughness, and it also gives power which is why my power is so high. you can replace the div rune for more tough or power but i choose div to get a little bit of Healing, fit, tough and power. the sixth fighter rune is not great so i choose stats over 20 secs of might wen healing.

Thieves are the main problem i have and also stun locking. the only reason ihave troouble is because its a l2p issue. Also with thieves their mobility is so high compared to mine that i can almost never catch them.

Ive literally ran in to a team of two mesmers a hammer war and two thief and a s/d els and lived for a good two mins. i mean the point was to keep them on their point while my mates cap the others.

So i run a power build that i find most people wouldnt go and ive never seen anything on the forums about it either… it has no crit but it still hits pretty hard and probably the most useful POWER necro build seeing how most power builds are not great in team fights. Im not the best skill wise so id like some people to try it out and see how they do.

This note that the team aspect of this build is mainly stacking vulnerability due to death magic IX and also the sigil of peril, ive gotten 25 stacks easily on multiple enemies without even little trouble.

Ive faced all kinds of builds and the only ones that i seem to have trouble with is power ranger builds and hammer war.. maybe because of skill idk. the main problem is those who have high survivability and medium dps. condi vs this build is a joke seeing how this can peel condi easily with dagger OH, heal skill, well of power and plague signet.

also you can change out the heal skill to the new signet, i just dont have enough sp to buy it yet so ihave not tested it

Okay so im trying to do this power build and ive been testing alot and im having trouble figuring out which route is better. Can someone help me through the damage process with armor and stuff? like if im attacking someone with 2,500 armor with these stats how much will i do

(Fighter runes)
2,422 Power- 3,436 attack
1860 toughness- 2,780 armor

Route #2
(ogre runes)
2,422 power- 2,436 attack + 4% damage
1810 toughness- 2000 armor

Where does the 4% damage come in to play? what about the 5% frmo sigil of force? and where is crit in this? any one know the formula to find out damage?? help plsss

You can buy more slots. Also this just gives a little hub for you to chill in and chat and do some crafting. Also it could bring in some money for them with gem upgrades to change the aesthetics of the room

Instead of logging on to a bland char select screen, it would be cool to have a small room containing all your chars that you can walk around the room in with each char. this could add things like custom rooms and maybe even have mini games and bank access and also possibly an upgrade to have the crafting stations there too! you would control a char by double clicking on one and you can switch at any time. to enter the game there would be a door that you would have to click on.

So I can log in and i can play…. but when I go try to enter a pvp tourny it says guildwars 2 has been update please restart to patch.. or something like that. I logged out and I also shut down Gw2.. still same error. I can log in i can go play PVE but i cn play pvp =/ any ideas?

use axe/x and maybe staff? if u run in a zerg u need some range. you can either choose a tanky power bulid or a full power build. full power is obvi full zerker and tanky depends on how tanky you want to go. there is no “best” trait distribution.. well except mine which i intend to keep it a secret, but focusing on wells is a good way to go, also there is focusing on death shroud or life siphon which is my favorite. elite is lich form, this does great damage+ has a ranged auto attack. note this is for wvw and not pvp. utilities depend on if you are going wells or whatever. usually spectral wall is amazing and so is spectral grasp in wvw, also the plauge… not the real name, the one that makes you faster and lets you shadow step back, is great for mobility. power necro is very veristile with its build and can be very different from one another. any more questions jst ask.

I feel like with the right balance all classes that have condi remove can negate most condo builds. i found this with thieves and necros so far. i havent ventured on any other classes to far tho. the problem i have with my build mostly is hammer war staff med and axe war

if you take a direct hit (not aoe) you should have stealth removed.

i agree though, stealth is stupid in this game, more so then any other I`ve played by a long shot.

Then explain how a thieves are supposed to sustain combat? Damage breaking stealth would break thieves. All that would remain are a few stubborn backstabs in wvw. No one with a brain would take them in any mode, pvp or pve.

Strangely it didn’t break stealthers in most of the other MMO’s with Stealth Breaking on Damage, and they didn’t have the option of instantly restealthing.

In other mmo’s thieves don’t have to actively avoid all damage, and don’t have most of their strongest moves tied to stealth. In those games, stealth is designed to be purely as an openner. In guild wars, stealth is designed as mindgame trick at the core of thief’s combat style, not unlike Mesmer clones. Stealth is to be used to reposition and flank your opponent, but it is also warning that a powerful hit is coming. Clever opponents win the mindgame, those that refuse to awknowledge it get punished for thier ignorance.

Umm, Every MMO out there you ahve to actively avoid damage via cooldowns/los and they most certainly do have their strongest moves tied to stealth… Hell that’s pretty much the staple of all Rogues, that when they open in stealth they have a huge attack.

Stealth in this game is simply another system that wasn’t well thought out…. It works alright enough in PVE and even in SPvP somewhat after all the nerfs… but World vs World…come the hell on..

BS. I’ve played Wow, and many other mmos, and in all of them but PSO2 and GW2, everyone just stood there and let their Avoid/Defense stat deal with the damage mitigation, occasionally using a pot when hp got low.

Thieves are a pretty much a non-issue to any WvWer who actually cares about helping thier server win. They don’t deserved a fraction of the flack they get, especially with classes that actually make a difference, such as Guardians running around actually contributing to the PPT.

i dont find endurance to be a problem mostly because im pretty tanky and i dodge whenever i can

yea dont use SoU unless you are in a cooradinated group or roaming with friends. the main problem youll encounter with this build is condo. so you can switch SoU for Plauge signet or if you want you can use a dagger OH and use #4 for the condi removal. Yes i know you have the heal but that wont be enough especially against a necro.
also if you plan on zerging you might what to go with a build with a staff. if you step in the the center you mostlikely will get crushed. also i would swap you endurance sigil to sigil of force for extra dps I actually run a similar build but mine is focused on survivability insted of crit.
for your elite, i find anything other the golem to high of a cd but thats my opinion. i run golem for the knock back and believe it or not he does good damage, but thats your choice.

So I was on my norn necro and I went to hoebrak to get my quartz the other day and then I went to Divinitys in to the home instance and I was able to gather the quartz there too.. is that suppose to happen? also it would be nice to add customizable home instance to make them special and a place of use other then cultural armour/ farming quartz

When ever I down a warrior and he gets back up again. I do not get any points in sPvP and in WvW it makes me barely even want to fight one because i get cheated out of points

yea tru i agree taking out DA instead. also only take out SR if u feel comfertable with it. SR is a big staple for thieves and most have grown so use to the back up… meaning they can jump in to almost anything and just SR out playing without SR makes you think more and imo makes you a better player. but if you do take off SR, the Life steal on leechin venoms helps ALOT.

on top of all of this i use dodge roll instead of the stealth heal…. mainly because my build is a Spvp build and stealth hinders us becasue we cannot cap points in stealth.

if u use the roll instead, there is a 10 point trait in acro that gives vigor on heal skill which can def help out your endurance

if youd like ill link my build. do note it is a s/d tho.

the main problem you will have is cc. you have no stun breaker. i would change signet of shadows to shadow step. also i would take 10 points of SA and switch it to Trickery picking up bountiful thief( gains vigor on steal/ rips 2 boons) on top of that i would change your second SA to leeching venom. the two you have now are great also but thats just my preference.

when i run a condi thief i dont use SR. instead i run the skale venom.

runes: i would change yours to undead… they are super good for defense and give you alot of condi with ur toughness.

sigils: depending on ur switch weapons i would change ur stack sigil to increase bleed duration 10% if ur running two p/d then keep then id change it to bleed on switch instead and focus more on bleeds.
