I’d prefer a general rework of ooC movement. Make it independent from all the said effects (exc swiftness). So all those effects (signets, engineers’ and warriors traits) would only affect incombat. This would also grant other classes the possibility to not use the signet as default.

A signet that gives a condition to opponent/a single* boon to you and allies active and a passive movement speed i think is fair for mesmers, though.

You pretty much don’t know the Signet of Inspiration.

Fixes for damaging conditions (PVE)

The bleeding thing is a pretty complicated suggestion. It won’t just be a straight up conversion of bleeds = torment.

Basically what you are suggesting is “make each class get their own kind of bleeding which doesn’t stack with the others”. So two necros wouldn’t work together, but multiple classes would. This wouldn’t solve the problem, but increase the stress. This way you could also say “increase the stacks to 100”.
And for condition mesmers … no need to care. They deal their bleeding by critting, which is not possible on most world bosses. The bleedings come from other classes.

The goal of this fix is for smaller scale groups and dungeons. World bosses will always be impossible to fight with condition damage, so long as they take conditions. Other than a straight up condition to damage conversion on the bosses (a suggestion that they’ve heard a thousand times, no doubt), there is no fix that won’t overtax the servers.

I’ve already made suggestions which would work. They wouldn’t overpower it (except epidemic), would probably lower the stress, encourage teamplay and anyone can do their condition damage. In short, turn the 25 stacks/ 30s duration (once reached) into direct damage and remove the stacks. Ofc this would need some attention with torment now (suggested it before torment), probably poison and confusion. But removing those full stacks and exchanging them for direct damage would still be better in 95% of the cases.

The suggestions for poison and confusion can be roughly summarized as “make PVE better and more engaging”. The effects they themselves have is fine. It is just that PVE is built in a way that these effects never take place.

As I said, the ANet balancing team may not even know that there’s PvE in the game …

If burning behaves like this, then it is good news. I could’ve sworn I’ve seen my burning on my condi engi overwritten by other classes, though. Maybe they changed that already.

Poison, too. I’d expect the same for chill, cripple, blind, immobilize and weakness, but like it matters there. But there’s damaging fear … no clue.

How this happens:
Multiple players go into the boss’ room. The wall appears. Players within the area of the wall will be trapped.

There are two player-solution to this problem:

  1. Only one person goes in, the rest uses the flag teleport
  2. If a player is trapped, you need to wait until icewalls appear in the room. Destroy the one closest to the wall you’re stuck in and you’re freed. Either inside or outside, but you’re freed. If the whole party is trapped (bad players), use melee to destroy the walls (do they spawn then?).

So, just test your abilities and watch achievements.

How about moving the “Vendor” buy dialogue, so you can just spam press buy/accept.

When you buy 250items you still need clik 500 times, if you dont have makro your mouse will die faster than normal…
the same problem with open/use items(like alkochol) so i like Cat idea.

Freak was talking about the vendors which ask if “you are sure to buy this”. You can’t spam doubleclick there but have to agree at each item. To “bypass” this, you move the vendor window above the “are you sure” dialogue, so that when you doubleclick the dialogue pops up under the mouse and a third click would agree. Here you need at least 3 clicks per item … and additionally a bit time for lag.

From what I saw the last combo field counted towards the combo….

I think what you observed were projectile finishers. I think I saw them becoming whatever they travel through first. Not sure here or with leap finishers. But finishers within multiple fields (especially blast) do use the oldest field.

No, don’t priorize your own fields, or the party’s ones. Combo fields are supposed to encourage teamplay, not ego play.

Simply no. If the “boon” would provide buffs, it’d have to be the same for both. Assuming you’d get gold from one and MF from the other, you’d choose the one you’d prefer. But to keep the original meaning of the living story fair, you’d have to vote for the character you prefer.

real-life example:
x candidate would offer you $1 for voting and
y candidate would offer you ice cream for a vote.

then you’d rather vote for the direct reward instead of voting for the candidates.

Bleeding
As I’ve understood your post, you suggested for the main bleeder to cause torment instead of bleeding. And this would lower the capped bleeding for other classes since they cause bleeding without being blocked by necro and mesmers bleeding ?

Well, seems interesting but has three flaws.

  • Making them torment would boost ehm in pvp/ wvw but nerf them on PvE. And this would result in a balancing patch to reduce it’s total efficiency (since devs balance in PvP means) so PvE gets a double nerf.
  • Making another stack with 25 torments would sure stress the server more than right now.
  • It wouldn’t take care of the problem, but slightly push it back. Two necros in a party would still reach the cap and on world bosses, both caps would easily be full.

Poison
PvE mobs fairly often use regeneration. And here again, ANet balances for PvP … all conditions could be buffed in PvE, but they’re pretty strong in PvP. So we won’t get a change.

Confusion
And here again. Confusion was really bad in PvE and fairly strong in PvP. So as balancing they nerfed it in PvP.

Burning
Good suggestion, but have you read the mechanics of duration stacking conditions? What you suggested is already ingame. And even better, it doesn’t only priorize on infliction but on every tick. So buffing yourself (might) might put your burning first. Once you lose the buffs, another burning might get ticks then.

@Nretep: Don’t get me wrong there, I would appreciate it if the system works the way you described it, but it definitly contradicts my experiences. If I’m looking at the death recap in pvp, the dmg of bleeding would have to be divided into the dmg dealt through bleeding by every player that had inflicted bleeding. But currently it just shows the entire dmg that has been dealt through bleeding and only one player as its source. Is there any way to proof your system?

Then your experience is wrong. Don’t look at the conditions “source”, but look at your numbers. If I inflict burning and someone else inflicts burning on the same target, you either see your ticks, or you don’t. The one who has higher malice get the ticks and sees his damage. If I inflict bleeding, I see my ticks and the number of my ticks. They vary by my weapon and my might, but not others’ bleedings.

@Peter – simple thing – I am burning guardian and I was in fight with a chamipon fire imp.
in fight was also trap condi ranger and some engineer.
ranger was dropping fire field and everyone who shooted throught them inflicted something like 1sec. of burn.
and most of time burning didn’t have to named source of burning – that’s because"sources" of separate ticks was too many and system named above was working.
btw. in case of burning “Source” is not last person who applied burning but person which burning is ticking right now

and funny thing everytime when I applied burning source was empty – otherwise it was changing just about every second

in case of bleeding – “Source” may be player who inflicted last their tick, or player who inflicted strongest one…. not sure because I bleed my enemies only with ranger – and on ranger I have no time to giving too much to the “source” of bleeding…

To explain your statement.

  • You don’t see a “source” when you are the source.
  • The “source” of a bleeding stack might be the last inflicted one since it defined the duration bar (white corner). But that’s irrelevant.

As I explained earlier, burning has a malice priority. When others inflict it, try to get more malice than them and your burn hits rather then theirs. And here remember, that might also boosts your malice.

Well, there’re alot “conditions” which need to be met. For the scepter achievement, better not use a necro, that’s it. Necro is best class for doing the sword achievement and probably focus.

The “activation time” (also “casting time”) is the time you see the bar charging. The terms you are using are not exactly defined. So technically all three times you press #6, it can be considered “casting”, while two times have no “cast time”. So in my opinion the only real “cast” is the preparing the charges, which would make the trait’s wording correct.

Restorative mantras procs on charge, not on cast. This is not a bug.

As I read this, it’d mean the opposite. It procs on “charging” not on “charge”. “Charge” could mean “using a charge” – especially when comparing it to casting.
The wording in mantras is pretty difficult. The wiki only uses “activation time” and “recharge”, so it doesn’t differ between preparing mantras and using a charge. Rewording an undefined wording wouldn’t help anyone.
It’s also difficult with Phantasmal haste.

I barely shatter, so I’m only commenting things, I know about:

  • The @sigil of fire might cancel the @sigil of hydromancy. I’d rather get another one (type) in either.
  • As someone said, @Sigil of Midnight isn’t meant for your build. Instead, Mirror images is.
  • Do you really need @Null Field ? I know, some ppl like it, but it’s usually inferior to pDisenchanter or CleanMantra …
  • I really hate @valkyrie gear. There’s no point in getting crtdmg when you don’t have crtch. I saw that you somehow got 43% crtch, but I’d rather get knight gear. Toughness is better (than vit) anyways. Mixing both is also an option.
  • @Rune of divinity? They’re not just expensive (~12g ea on EU) but pointless if you’re not going for celestial gear anyways. If there’s something you think you lack, use that instead of divinity.
  • Are you sure, that you prefer @Domination IV over GreatSwordTraining or EmpoweredIllusions ?
  • And in your @Illusion line, I’d probably choose +10% crtch and +9% dmg from illusions over bouncing (your only bouncing is mirror blade) and distorsion grants reflection.

Technically it’d be pointless to be in four guilds and have three pending invitations. If you accept one, what happens to the other two ? Automatic “unvited” ?

Actually, those “on heal” runes trigger on pressing #6. Like when you use melchor’s bluff to swap the signature moves, you get 3 stacks of might. That’s why you get the effects on healing mantra on any action. Healing Mantra (untraited) has a ~ (10+2.75+1+1 =) ~14.75s cycle. Including invisible aftercast, reation time or ping, it also fits “on heal” runes.
Yet, I’ve heard it doesn’t work with racial heal skills …

Peter, you got it wrong. The way you understood the current system explains your suggestion, but both is wrong.

Intensity stacking conditions (bleed):
Each player causes his own stacks of bleeding. If Player A with 110 bleeding damage causes 3 stacks of bleedings for 10s and player B with 80 bleedings damage causes 10 stacks of bleeding for 15s it will be like this: This mob will receive (110 * 3 + 80 * 10 =) 1,130 damage per second within the first 10s then (80 * 10 =) 800 dmg/s in the following 5s. Each player gets his own malice and damage accounted. No matter of the order of infliction or other players’ interferrence.

Duration stacking conditions (burn, poison):
Same as before; Each player causes his own duration of burning. If Player A with 110 burning damage causes 10s and player B with 80 burning damage causes 15s it will be like this: This mob will receive 110 damage per second within the first 10s then 80 dmg/s in the following 15s. The higher damage will be applies first, no matter of the order of infliction or other players’ interferrence.

Now back to your suggestion:
what ? No, the current system is fine. The problem is the stacking limit and the inferiority of condition damage (in PvE).

You can (re-)install it as many times as you want. You can also copy the installed files to another computer and use them there (but installing is safer). You can only be logged in once, though.

The “Sahand.6981” is your “identification” number. You can’t change it. This is how players can identify you, regardless which character you’re playing or here in forums. The actual login is your eMail and shouldn’t be told to others, only ANet is supposed to know those.
Said that, when creating a character, you name it. But if friends or guildmates hover you, they also see your account identification, it’s not really meant to be hidden, but gives you the chance to recognize your friends new characters or malicious scammers.

I don’t think you got anything from the physical copy, except you don’t have to download the whole game from the servers. But you’ll have to download all patches by now, which still causes some traffic.

Especially if you’re usually Warrior or Assassin type player, the sword will fit you. I wonder if you’re able to play it head on. Mesmer type players usually use the sword after reaching 80 and with lots of experience. If you don’t manage it at lvl 30, play GS.

Before 40:

  • 10 Domination (+ 15% illusion dmg)
  • 5 Chaos (regeneration)
  • 5 Dueling (vigor)

But you’ll not reach 5 dueling; it’d be your lvl 40 point.
At 40:

  • 20 Dueling (clone on dodge)
  • 10 domination (illusion damage)

from then on you should try to think of a path to walk (build direction).

Well, as I’ve heard ANet plans to completely re-structurize the token rewarding system soon, which might even affect WvW players (more tokens for some runs), but not completely fills the gap.
Is PvE player who absolutely hates the necessity of going into PvP jumping puzzles, I think this somewhat similar to forcing WvW players to run the dungeons.

I think you should be able to 4×10 tokens of any dungeon (or wvw badges) into the mystic forge and get ~30 tokens of a random dungeon back. But even here, a fix of CoF runs have to be restricted beforehand

  • Generally
    • Change how out-of-combat movement works. Once out of combat you get a buff called “out of combat”. This buff increases movement speed by + 3%. Each second ooC you get one stack of “ooC”, max 11. Once you enter combat, all stacks are removed.
      This way all movement abilities (passive signets, warriors melee, engineer’s and mesmer’s are only for in-combat) and all classes are equal ooC and still have their movement ability iC. Probably make the current passive signets make the first tick of “ooC” buff with 4 stacks.
    • Change Confusion in PvE to deal either double damage or double duration.
  • Staff
    • Make the 1 Vul to 3 Vuls
    • Make the 1s Burning to 1.5s Burning, so stacking condur would actually lead to something
  • Scepter
    • Either increase projectiles’ velocity or reduce casttime, since those are not completely unaffected
    • Make Clones use scepter #1-1 and #1-2 (not #1-3)
    • Second Hit should cause 1 confusion with a base duration of a clone’s cycle
    • Make Scepter #2-1 do something when the cast is finished – probably autouse #2-2
  • GS
    • Make Mindstab a blast finisher and increase its damage by 50% (?)
    • Increase bouncing range of GS #2 and let it favor you for the initial bounce
  • Focus
    • Temporal curtain; increase height by 100% to bake it reflect projectiles above knee height.
    • Make pWarden either ground-targeted or reduce its acting range to its damage range.
  • Utilities
    • Healing Mantra; add AoE heal when using a charge with 1/4 ~ 1/3 of the selfheal.
    • Damage Mantra; increase CD from 1s to 2s; add 1 stack of might (10s) to allies upon using a charge.
    • Cleansening Mantra; additional to its current effect make it remove one condition on allies, range same as Restorative Mantras
    • Stability Mantra; increase stability duration to 3~4s; stability is also granted to allies.
    • Probably make all those supportive mantra abilities a grandmaster trait in inspiration or dueling (our mantra lines).
    • Signet of midnight; change boon duration from + 10% to + 20%.
  • Traits
    • Toughness on mantra charge; remove toughness grants aegis for 3s, CD 7s; or grants stability 3s, CD 8s.

Unfortunately this game is not designed to give players roles. Anyone can fit any role. Except the only pure build is berserker. Even if you go full healer, you’ll still be 50% healer and 50% damager.
This comes from stat constellations ([pow/ prec/ crtdmg] and [prec/ pow/ cond] exists, but [tough/ vit/ heal] or [tough/ heal/ boon] not, and giver’s armor is underpowered) and stats’ influence. Power scales way better than healing power. You can easily quadruple your power output but can only boost your healing by 50%.

Generally Support Guardians go 0/0/30/30/10. Staff is a good way. My Guardian uses Healing Breeze with Runes of Altruism. So I have low CD heal, which even heals others. Then share your healing aura and probably make your symbols heal as well.

It’d overpower Epidemic, but it’s not a Necro issue, but an issue with the skill itsself.
More stacks would not turn classes OP, but allow some builds to actually deal damage. The current system is just bad. Direct damage is always stronger and at bosses, they even cripple condition builds.

The irony, the irony … rangers complain that they can shoot in 1700 range but their autoattack only works in 1500 range. Melee weapon reaches 330 while autoattack says it’s only reliable at 300.

I’d also like to fix this problem. Make all projectiles disappear at max range. Like Mesmer’s.

Rampager gear (Prec/ Pow/ Cond) is similar to Zerker gear; full offense. I still think it’s a valid choice if you try to mix bleed damage in your build. The point then is to call illusions with high hit-frequency, let them crit and then probably shatter and resummon. But the staff is the wrong choice and you’d need DeceptiveEvasion for that.

But currently prefer to go the power way (way better vs buildings and not so ramp) mixing zerker, rampager (for prec) and some[prec/ pow/ tough] trinkets (no prefix). They boost the crtchance while giving you a bit armor.
