What I would like regarding confusion, only in PVE (otherwise it would be way OP) is to have it work like Spiteful Spirit did in GW1 : if mob hits, it suffers damage of confusion as well as all other mobs near it.
Thus, you could burn down a pack of mobs very fast with confusion burst (and you still have to use it at the right moment)

i did notice more shards (i got two in one run and two other members of my group also got two each, was the dredge fractal) in level30+ and i also got multiple exotics from 1.2-4g range as a drop from trash mob.
its like 60g+ for a +5 number to your back pack, a simple +5 number lol what a nice idea.
remove this useless crap and give me some kind of long lasting/high damage aoe spell without a 2 century recharge time

Yes it was the bottom earth eles. Also, yesterday i got 7 rares, 2 exotics (one drop and 1 fractal rifle), 2 mist shards, 1 core and 1 molten lodestone in one daily 30. I don’t think i ever got that many stuff from fotm and i have around 355 fractals done.
lol@voice acting. I think (without any exaggeration) this is the game with the worst dialogues/voice acting i’ve ever played on pc/consoles. Been over three months and i still can’t believe how bad it is, like wow a BurgerKing game that was given to you for free with a purchase of a burger back in 06 for the 360 had better voice acting and im not trolling, dead serious.
i find it funny how people spend real cash for pixel cash over the 60$ you’ve spent on the game. You buy a game to gain everything by your own in it and not take some cash and buy everything you want in 10h of gameplay… this isn’t better than paying for power leveling except its legit cuz anet said so. But i do agree with TC especially on DR. GW1 was such a much much superior game its sad what anet made of off gw2.
got two exotics in about 1h 40 minutes of farming onyx lodestones in malchor’s. Never ever got a single one before today and that’s two in under 2h… dunno if drops were increased or just random luck but i do farm there frequently enough and never seen one dropped.
daily reward is so pathetic in general… 5s, some purple numbers and a coin, yaaaaaaaay.
now imagine if claws rotation was once per 24h, always on same time (so no1 misses him), minimum 2 Rares and a chance of getting an exotic as high as it is right now getting a Rare (which is fine). Then i would do it every day and its worth doing. As of now claw and the other two are a complete waste of time joke. Going afk in LA does more than wasting 20+ minutes on this bs for blues and 1-2 greens.
what’s wrong with it? i can do 2-3k dmg from shattering 3 clones. That’s just one proc of the condition. none other conditions can do that much dmg with same stacks and duration. less whining, it’s most oped cond.
That’s the problem, it does damage from one proc and rarely more than that. 3k damage is your GS’s auto attack damage on half glass cannony build so not impressive especially since you lose all clones and need to make new ones which is easy BUT to shatter again for one or maybe two confusion procs is not good.
but you’re forgetting it’s also an aoe condition + base dmg. so it does up to 15k dmg with 5 targets. still doesnt justify why this cond needs to be buffed. mesmers are not an attrition classes otherwise it’d just be too OPed. you’re wanting too much from a class.
if you buff it any more, then what about burn? i agree burn does a ton of dmg, but it’s short and very few skills proc it. you want a cond that does lots of dmg with no downside. seems really unreasonable.
100b would do more per target on all targets and as you mentioned, confusion may or may not even deal damage which isn’t reliable. Im not trying to make confusion OP but to deal at least some kind of damage because having 10-12 stacks on an enemy for 4sec and see zero procs is a little too much for my taste. No wonder they doubled its damage in pve during beta weekends but that wasn’t enough.
Of course i would prefer scepter/torch to be overhauled first and also mind stab on GS but this was just a random idea because the lack of good phantasm traits and mesmer has way too many useless traits that no1 on the planet ever ran/tried since beta weekends (i bet this is on all classes tho)
not only drop rate is a joke (below a joke actually) but there’s no proper places to farm those. Am i here to spam 500 sparks per 1 lodestone? Add a challenging zone/dungeon with much higher drop rate on all these needed mats, but nooooooo they want you to buy gems, gg but i ain’t spending rlm for a game i already payed for.

Presently they are pretty much only worth 5s, which is silly. I posted in the suggestions forum that they should make it so you can salvage them for some Pristine Relics (maybe 1-3?). Would mean turning your unwanted rings —> wanted rings.
Salvaging rings into pristine relics to get more rings isn’t that great of an idea to someone who already has the ring he/she wants. Each ascended ring should be salvaged into 3-5ectos and a shard+globe of the mists. I have 7 acc soulbound rings i stored on one character that i have no use for and 5 soulbound ones that are wasting storage slots, anet, find something!
This is for phantasm build. I was thinking, since mes has pretty bs aoe and if you’re running a phantasm build (which is completely irrelevant right now) the ONLY aoe you have is iZerker. Why not add a grandmaster trait (instead of useless ones the game have) that deals half the phantasm damage in aoe. That way you have high single target damage from a phantasm like iWarlock and it deals 50% of its damage around his target. Not only will that make mesmers not the worst class in the freaking game to tag mobs in orr but a phantasms build could be really strong for dungeons. Hopefully anet fixes sig of illusion one day as well.

I’d go Rune of the Undead either way, which compared to 0/20/20/0/30 is a difference of 20 or so condition damage (0/20/25/0/25 would be 60ish, but loses IP). It is definitely squishier though, even if it does more damage. I have had more times when having access to traits in the Chaos line would help over times when a bit more damage is what I need.
10% of ~2000toughness is 200 condition damage not 20. Btw, you prove my point lol you have to spec in power to deal higher damage which shouldn’t be necessary if confusion worked properly. Condition builds are much more limited and i hope anet knows this and will give condition builds some kind of buff. I dunno but i think it would’ve been great if confusion could crit since its the higher condition damage and doesn’t last long, it wouldn’t be op.

if you want a condition build you should go with rabid and that is from dungeon rewards. a crit/power mes outdamages any condition builds by quite a lot but since you’re not squishy on one i actually prefer it over GS power mesmers.
You can also go 20/20/0/0/30, and take Mental Torment and whatever else in Domination for the increased Condition duration. That plus master of misdirection and a veggie pizza puts your confusion duration up close to 8 seconds. I have toyed around with it some, but the problem for me is I really like the Chaos line, and I feel like I have less flexibility with the utility skills if staff is on a longer cooldown. I’m more likely to want decoy or mirror images for example to pump clones out fast enough to MW/CoF on cooldown.

got about 10 exotic drops from dungeons in last month(definetly less then 150 ac runz lol), mostly doing ac daily. sometimes with 0 mf or sometimes with omnomberry bar.
most of them were cheap (~1-1.5g), and couple named ones worth 5g+
have gotten them from chests and trash mobs alike.
once even got 2 exotics in same ac run.soo uhm. nuka your 500 runs with no drops sounds like a bit of exaggeration.
No im not exaggerating at all but these 500+ runs are since game launch not since update to drops.
Before doing anything to staff THEY MUST REMOVE THE STUPID VULNERABILITY ON WINDS OF CHAOS. Then it will be half decent for dps and they can do whatever with it.
It sounds like you have a suboptimal confusion build. Make all shatters deal confusion, and increase your confusion duration for starters. Then all you need to do is keep constant stacks of confusion on your target (or learn to mass stack for uber hits).
Confusion is great in PvP and PvE.
what do you mean sub optional!? Not like there sooooooooooooooooooooooo much flexibility here lolz. I run 0/20/20/0/30 or 0/20/25/0/25 but prefer the first one for fractals 30+. So, where’s the sub optional part?

About the pizza comment. Yes, pizza may be great BUT do i want to spend 3.5-4s for food every time i run a shatter confusion build? No. The duration should be increased (in pve, again) because mobs don’t use skills frequently enough.
edit: just seen you telling me to take all shatters make confusion lol yeah some1 running a shatter confusion build, played only mes since day one and doesn’t know that, not only to mention Illusions tree increase condition damage so its a no brainer. Thanks for your very useful suggestion…
i would like to know the same thing. The day they added bags with 3 tokens i thought exotics/rare were significantly increased but what you get from chest/trash mob loot? GREENS/BLUES as we were before update so what gives? From fractals i got around 6 exotic items dropped from trash mobs and about 10 from chests. All other dungeons combined (probably way over 500 runs i don’t even know) i got ZERO exotic drops and one from chest, so sup!?

Confusion isn’t broken… you just need to know how to use it. Timing is everything.
“you just have to know how to use it” nab answer. this is what you would say to some1 who just bought gw2 not some1 who have over 900h++ on mes. Btw there’s no you just need to know how to use it, you ball up enemies, shatter, they all have confusion and it only procs once or maybe twice. I love how some people try to sound smart with their “u just have to know how to use it” when it has not trick other than trying to give confusion on max amount of enemies per shatter lolz, so much things to learn from that!!!!

that sentence would go perfectly if i was referring to pvp only. Something tells me everyone is running power/precision in pve and have no idea what i’m talking about, because if you were running a full rabid gear/toughness build and seen the amount of damage you could be dealing (try this in wvw and not on a crappy carrion build) i don’t think anyone could even disagree that confusion isn’t good in pve.
How is it broken? “Confusion is a condition that deals damage each time a foe uses a skill.” Majority of mobs don’t use much in the way of skills I don’t think? I’m pretty sure confusion works just the way it’s supposed to, which is against players, not mobs.
So lets just lock it in pve and make it as a pvp exclusive condition. because that’s almost what it is.
Why i shouldn’t use a certain build just because the condition itself is broken in pve? Makes no sense and shouldn’t be ignored especially since confusion can deal tones of good damage. The fact that most people just don’t care and switch to crit/power in pve annoys me because anet won’t bother to do anything to confusion and let it suck until gw2 is dead (5y+)
Its completely underpowered in pve. In pvp i have np with it because people spam skills like mofos but in pve you can stack 10 stacks for 4sec and it procs 0-1 time… This is just broken. You sacrifice all your illusions to deal extremely low base damage from Cry of Frustration and MAYBE only maybe deal more confusion damage once (which doesn’t happen at least 50% of the times). Another thing i don’t understand, why can i spike for 4k confusion damage with X amount of stacks one time and deal like 900 damage with same amount of stacks the other time on another enemy? Aren’t condition damage armor ignoring!? Here’s some ideas. Confusion duration is increased x2-3 (at least). Confusion could be the only condition damage that can crit. Confusion could (and this is the one i’d want the most) proc every time an enemy attacks, exactly like Spiteful Spirit was in GW1 since confusion is essentially the same thing which makes sense because if you want to attack in pvp, you’re using a skill=damage from confusion.
Hope anet does something with Confusion in pve because its not so hot.
if you get 10 you can trade them for a none infused ascended rings of your choice. Its from same trader that trades infusions inside the dungeon.
since last update i got 4 infused rings in 5-6 dailies so i dunno if its just luck they drop way often. Also seen 2 people getting fractal weps in those runs.

Yes i mentioned this already couple of weeks ago and i’d like to see one (cuz i loved great axe spam in Demon’s Souls lol). But what i really think is, its time for anet to add 1 new weapon to each class cuz i (probably many many many others) am getting tired of using same 2-4 weapons.

Yes it sucks but look at mesmer traits. 3/4 of them are a useless joke and elites? Mesmer has two elite, TW and MI…. yay for two elite skills when you could use way over 100 in gw1… Skills and traits in general sucks and so does two mesmer weapons.
With Shatter Strength so powerful now the only reason i would EVER run a phantasm build is in glass cannon/mantra build. Phantasm builds have no point as of now and sig of illusion NEVER gets fixed even tho they know about it.
target loss would be great, i just hope this skill never gets nerfed because if it does, there will be no reason to play as a mes for me personally and if there’s no reason to play mes, there’s none to play gw2 as a whole so yeah…

I was thinking… Deceptive Evasion so good that 20 of you 70 trait point will be gone pretty much 100% fo the times (at least on my builds). another 25 of the 50 available is a no brainer now for Illusions. So at the end, you have 25 free points to make a build lol very flexible.

nooooooo don’t touch this!!!!! the thing’s is awesome. if they’re changing it in the future and make it so its only 1 stack per clone do it so its for 20sec and not 10. I’m soooo perfectly fine playing with 17-25 stacks almost at all time tho lol
there should be an option to turn off what’s your character is saying during combat. its plain cheesy and i don’t want that useless crap. (turning dialogues isn’t the way to go)
